First time at Wonder Cha Tea Place and this spot has now been added to our favorite go to milk tea and specialty coffee drinks thanks to my brother who took us here and highly recommended the place. Wonder Cha Tea Place provides both excellent customer service and delicious milk tea and specialty coffee drinks. We enjoyed our visit at Wonder Cha Tea Place as it's a really cool Anime inspired cafe. It's actually one of the best ones we've seen in LA. When you look at the art on the wall it basically tells a story. So neat! Inside, there are tables and chairs available for seating. This cafe is very nice and welcoming. The staff is also very sweet and welcoming as they greeted us as soon as we walked in. During our visit we ordered the Tiramisu Duo Latte, 3 Ube Plus One and the Grape Fruit Shaped Ice Cream. We loved the Ube Plus One as it wasn't too sweet and you can still taste the espresso with a hint of ube. The Tiramisu Duo was also on point. It tasted like the tiramisu dessert yet with a hint of espresso. Our child enjoyed the Grape Fruit Shaped Ice Cream. Our child said it was yummy. Went here for the first time today and was so happy with my drink! Love their options for both tea choices as well as add ins. I got the hojicha tea at 50% sweetness with boba and salt cheese foam and it was absolutely perfect. There's a handful of places to sit and enjoy your drink, including if you want to stay for a little longer to work. Parking was fine when I went (midday during the week)- plenty of available spots, though I imagine it could be hit or miss on availability depending on when you go. Delicious! We have been here since it opened and it has become one of our favorites. Consistent and the boba is the perfect texture and flavor. The space is small and quiet. You order on the screen and a person calls your name when it's ready. The Instagram flicker thing is pretty neat too. I love how you can send them your photo and they'll post it on their board. I've been going to Wonder Cha 3+ times a week for several months now, so I feel like I've gotten a really good sense of the consistency of the drinks. Unfortunately, as much as I love many of their drinks, they can be very inconsistent. I almost always order the Tiramisu Duo Latte, and some days it's very watered down. Other days, I can only taste coffee and water; sometimes it's too strong; and occasionally, it's perfect. There used to be a barista named Patricia working here and she was amazing at making all the drinks consistent and high quality. She mentioned to me that ordering no ice requires them to fill the rest of the cup with water. Thank you to Patricia for sharing that, because my entire reason for ordering "no ice" is that I hate when drinks get more watered down as I drink them. When you order "no ice" here, you actually get the opposite effect. I would much rather have a fill-up fee or simply leave room in the cup than receive a watered-down version of a drink I love. The reason I'm giving Wonder Cha a 4/5 instead of the usual 3/5 I would give for drink inconsistencies is because the owners are beyond kind and helpful. Additionally, the baristas I've gotten to know--who genuinely care about forming connections with their regulars--keep bringing me back. Wonder Cha is special because of the incredible attention to detail in the decor, music, seating, and reward system. Seriously, the reward system has to be one of the best and is a big reason I keep coming back. I've been trying to branch out with drinks since my usual favorite has become unreliable. The Ube One is really delicious, both with matcha and coffee. I also really love their classic milk teas--they're very refreshing, and I can tell they're made from real tea leaves, not powders (I appreciate this so much). I've introduced about 4-5 people to Wonder Cha now, and I love coming here with friends--it truly is a special place. My biggest recommendation to the owners, as someone who has worked at a small tea shop before, is to really aim for consistency in drink preparation by using measuring cups and/or food scales, and to listen to your employees. Employees like Thaniel, one of the longest-standing team members, who is great at making drinks and very personable, can offer valuable insight into what needs to be adjusted as the business continues to grow. This is a nice anime inspired drink place. Small and cute layout. Anime artwork is line against the walls and there is some seating. There is a wall of the many customers and some pets lol. Good sign of their local customer base and what they mean to the community. Parking is decent and we found a spot easily on a Friday afternoon. There's a good amount of choices. I ordered the Tiramisu duo latte. It was good but tbh, too sweet for me but worth coming back to try it at 75% sweetness. Very sad that I didn't enjoy my drink - golden roasted oolong milk tea. Got it 25% sweet with house milk (lactose free). It really lacked the tea flavor. Was super light. I should have tried something else, might have been better. Interestingly, they offer lactase enzyme tablets as an add-on for only 50 cents in case you're lactose intolerant. First time seeing this at a cafe! The boba was not bad. Not too soft and not too hard. They also have blind boxes as an add-on for an additional $10. They're super cute! Service was great and didn't have to wait too long. Glad that they don't put too much ice for less ice. The interior is my fav! Love the vibes and beautiful artworks displayed. It's a tiny cafe and the parking lot is also tiny. All the spaces are 30 min but the staff said it's not really an issue to stay longer. Dog friendly. Head to UPS to do your Amazon returns and grab a drink right next door! There's a small parking lot for the drivers but in this case we walked cause we're better than that. Lactose intolerant? Not me. But if you are, they have the option to provide you one. What other business do you know does this? The interior is clean, might I say, pretty dust-free? My mom would be proud. They have a manga library to introduce you to the world of manga. Service is great, the baristas are super friendly. They had to make a new batch of boba and let us know in advance if the wait time was okay. They can also make any adjustments afterwards if needed. The drinks are yummy. I like the chocolatey flavor in the Tiramisu and I wanted something with a little coffee in it. I got 75% sweet but I should've gotten 50%. I'm already sweet enough, I guess. It would be really cool if the Tiger drink had tea in it. I know the standard recipe doesn't have tea in it but maybe this would be a unique drink to draw some customers in. Was very excited to hear about this new location in Culver City, and the reviews seemed promising, so of course I had to try it out! I ordered the jasmine milk tea, half sugar and with boba. This tea was described as "crisp, floral, and refreshing". I think the descriptions are spot-on! I enjoyed the taste of this tea. The boba was also on the chewier side, but I do prefer this over a boba that is too squishy and soft. Some things to note: The drink ended up being $8, which is a little too steep for what it is. I think something that could implemented is an option to add half boba for half of the price. I'm someone that wants boba, but the usual scoop seems to be too much for me. I would come more often if the prices were more affordable. Most people order on the kiosk located right next to the counter, and I only saw the worker come out when the drinks are ready to be served. I did notice that both the workers emphasized that if we would like any adjustments to the drink, they're able to do that for us. I thought that was nice. The plaza is located in a small parking lot, so there may or may not be spots open but there is a fast turnaround. Something I really enjoyed about this shop are the decorations. The colors of the store are nature-themed with light wood floors. There were a few groups studying as well, which is nice. This is our 3rd time coming in the last few months, and it has been consistently amazing. Our tea is more like a sweet treat once we add boba and the creme brûlée topping, but it's worth every calorie (The brown sugar drizzle is to make it look pretty)! Each visit we were treated with kindness. In our first visit, the young lady was patient with us while we asked our questions. She gave us suggestions and offered us samples. We hit it out the park the first time and we keep coming back. The honey boba is made fresh throughout the day (once there was a bit of a wait for it), and the creme brûlée gives the milk tea a deliciously creamy texture. There are about 6 tables inside that is typically filled with someone working on their laptop, and the atmosphere is overall cute and quaint. Personally, I wasn't a fan of how much chewier this is but I can't complain as the drink itself with 0% sugar blended perfectly with the sweetness of the honey boba. My favorite drink is the Ruby Red Milk Tea, 50% sweet, with Honey Boba. The tea itself is delicious and super high quality and the boba has the perfect chewy bite to it. I do wish they had more black tea options because a lot of the speciality drinks are made with jasmine tea, which is a little too floral for my taste. But the service is great and quick, the decor is awesome (shoutout to the Pikachu but there are some other standout pieces), and they even have a cute wall with photos of pets who have visited! Seemed like all of sudden The Milk Tea hype just made its return with flourishing new shops recently. Wonder Cha wasn't an exception, and I felt like less crowd inside the shop at my time of visit didn't give justifce to how great their tea was!! More than that, they actually even offered plus points with plenty of spaces to sit, wifi, and dedicated parking space; which weren't that common in similar milk tea shops where mostly only served to-go purchases. Having my first sip, I could straightly tell that their tea was certainly great quality one and I loved how bold the tea flavor stood out. They also served different kinds of dairy milk subsitutes, which weren't always available in others. The big cup size was doubtlessly justifying the price and taste was top notch. I really recommended their Golden Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with 75% sugar. I ordered the hot one but ended up putting it in fridge as I couldn't finish it in one sit, and actually found myself preferred the cold version. Came here on a Saturday during soft opening. I pre-ordered online so it was a quick pick-up especially as there were plenty of open parking spaces in the lot in front. I ordered the Citrus Kumquat Jade Tea. This one had great fruit flavor, not sure I got much tea flavor but not as big a deal since it was a fruit forward tea. Also ordered the Hojicha Roasted Green Milk Tea with honey boba. Was a bit disappointed in this one. I really feel like i didn't get much tea flavor, especially since it was supposed to be a roasted tea flavor. Also, the drink just tasted watered down. I like to add water to my milk teas when I only have about a quarter left (so it lasts longer lol) but this one tasted kind of like extra water had already been added. The honey boba was nice and chewy but felt a little too soft to me. I'm not much of an actual boba/tapioca pearl person though so it might just be me. I tried it since it was free during the soft opening weekend. All that said, this place is now probably the closest tea shop to me and has a parking lot so I'll probably be coming by again though I might stick to the fruit teas or have to try a straight tea. I am voting stoked this place opened here! I have been dying to have a tea place with cheese foam closer to me! It's very quiet inside, there are about 5 tables with bench seats/stools. They have free wifi, but NO public restrooms I saw two people studying/working from here. I ordered the seasonal Masala Chai made Bold and Spicy, with lactose-free house milk, No ice, 3/4 sweet (recommended), with added creme brulee topping. If you order any topping, be sure to sip it through the lid without a straw, so you get some of the foam/topping with each sip. The masala chia is made with powder, so when you ask for Bold & spicy, they add more. Since I got it cold, the powder seemed to settle a bit, so it was spicier when I got to the end, than at the start. If you're drinking with a straw you likely wont have this problem. But it's just something to be aware of, because when I tasted it from the top, I felt like it needed more spice, but at the end it was perfect. This tea place has a super cute inside-out design with plants and clouds. I love the vibe! They also have some manga you can rent out to read while you're there. You self order at the counter with a touchscreen, and then once your order is ready they call your name. On busy days, parking in the free lot may be an issue.I was able to find a spot around 19:30 on Saturday. I will definitely be back to try more! read more
