Don't be daft like we were. This is the worst and most overpriced imitation "Chinese" food I have ever had. Don't go here. The rice was hard and cold. Everything we ordered was terrible, not cooked, watery and gross. I would not recommend anyone except maybe my enemy to eat this food. It was that bad. This is without a doubt the worst restaurant food I've ever had, in my life. Five stars the food was fantastic at Wong's, Golden Palace March 2024. We had the po po platter. It was fantastic. They brought a little iron fireplace where we could heat our beef sticks. I used eat this in the 80s at the Jim Holmes in Spring Valley and then when that place went away, I only could find it at Kips, and the. Covid happen and that place closed! Arrrgg!!! Gotlet chicken are these lollipop chicken legs and fries crispy and drenched in this ruby red thick sauce! So I was excited when I discovered this place had them! I order 4-5 orders of these for my family and I. They were good but they were not made in the right fashion! They were not lollipop prepared and the sauce was more of a sweet sour orange chicken sauce vs this heavy thick rich red sweet sauce with a little tang. When we arrived, we found that the parking lot was packed on a Friday night. That seemed a good sign. The premises is split into two sides, the restaurant and the bar. It's entirely possible that the bar-- which others rave about-- is fantastic. It seemed to be hopping! We, however, were not there for the bar. We were there to finally try the kitschy Chinese place that we've driven by and yearned to be good. It's been one of those places where we kept saying "It's a little on the spendy side, but I bet it's great!" (At these price points, one would expect it to be.) That the restaurant only had one couple seated when we arrived around 7pm to pick up our order proved a harbinger of what was to come. We ordered egg rolls and pot stickers. Both fair. Three stars. The egg rolls are the gigantic stuffed rolls that tend to hold onto too much grease, but the shells were thin and delicate, which was a pleasant surprise. We also ordered the twice cooked pork, extra-extra spicy and the house special lo mein extra spicy. The twice cooked pork was a mushy texture, veggies the same. Far from a Double-X spicy, this was absolutely flavorless. We asked for chili sauce on the side as well, which helped, and soy sauce at least gave it salt. Twice-cooked pork can top the list of my favorite foods, so I was excited to see it available. A massive disappointment! The lo mein used an overcooked thin spaghetti as the noodle base, and suffered from the same lack of flavor or spice. Both were lacking in spice sufficiently that we didn't think twice about feeding some to our dog. (Like the egg roll, there was a saving grace to the lo mein, which was that the beef was perfectly tender... given the disaster of the rest of the meal, this was the high point). They offer a brown rice option on their take-out page, an up charge of $4.25. One of the things that convinced us to order was this option, as brown rice is a diabetic friendly alternative to white rice, and something we are always on the look out for. When we arrived, we were informed that they don't serve brown rice and were giving us fried rice instead. A reasonable substitution, I suppose, but not one that met the dietary goals (and which proved to taste about as good as the rest of the meal). I loathe the kind of institutional food served at many Asian chains, but we both were left believing that we would have had a better meal for a lot less money if we'd gone to Panda Express. It's a shame, because they could be offering an excellent product at the prices they command. Had it been great, or even good, we wouldn't bat an eye about spending it again. read more

Passed by this place so much and have always wanted to try this place out. Walked in and was greeted and seated right away. The lady who seated and waited on us, Betty was awesome. She had a great attitude and was super sweet. We ordered the Singapore Noodles and Wong's Dinner. Since it was family style we had a lot of food left order. This place is definitely experience, because they also had a bar next door where you can karaoke. Thank you Wong's Golden Palace for a fun experience and thank you to Betty our awesome waitress. We went there yesterday and expected the same efficiency, courteous waitress to greet us; she wasn't there and it as it turned out, it proved to be an omen. We ordered our usual, their delicious egg rolls, except they weren't delicious. They were loosely wrapped, which allowed them to take a lot of oil, so they were supper oily. We had to pad them with napkins to eat them. Then we found out that they had changed the recipe. They had some kind of weird noddle in them that changed the taste and consistency, so we didn't eat them. 7After waiting 40 minutes for our entress, we were very disappointed also. My wife's veggie Mushu was extra salty, and we had to throw it away. My War Wong Ton soup was awful! Lots of cabbage, three pieces of meat, shrimp barely cooked, and pork wrapped in some kind of pasta by a novice! We didn't eat that either. We ordered chicken fried rice to go before we found out about all this-and it didn't have any vegetables - and the chicken was old. When we got home, we threw that away, too! We spent $55.00 dollars and food that was inedible. The place was dark, dirty-a fly was buzzing around our table during our entire stay-and not very welcoming as before. On a side note. Its cute on the outside. Upon walking in we noticed that there was only 1 table of patrons...First Clue. My main "Pet Peeve" is Flies. There were no open windows, so why so many flies. Window sill was covered in dust, and there sat a big fly. Thats pretty gross. If you have a restaurant that you own and manage there should be some Pride. We were really disappointed in the food we ordered from Wong's last night for take-out. The War Wonton soup used to be pretty good- this time the wonton wrappers were mushy and falling apart even though we ate it right away and the filling tasted gamey and had no seasoning or flavor. The chicken lomein was inedible to me. I spit out the piece of chicken I tried and gave it to my dog (who liked it). The chicken had that texture of frozen pre-cooked chicken and the sauce tasted like it was out of an institutional gallon size can- thick nasty teriyaki sauce. No veggies. Stay away! Two of us who had the Hot & Sour Soup (to-go) ended up with gastrointestinal distress! Do NOT get the Hot & Sour Soup! We got a large to-go & when we got home, & took off the lid to get ready to dish it out, I was hit by a stench! We've had this soup before and it's been really delicious, one of the best around town, but we will not ever order it again! The smell put me off so much that I only had a small taste of it but another family member, just getting over the sniffles, had a bowl of it and felt icky for a few hours afterwards, with A LOT of burping & uncontrollable hershey squirts! I was very disappointed in this restaurant. The ladies were short and unfriendly. And it was so loud and not the least relaxing. The restaurant was empty but the people inside ruined my meal. I thought food was nasty. Another guy in my group who probably never purchased a single spice in his life so his taste can't be trusted thought it was great. The server was bitter and rude. Went to Wong's for New Year's Eve. We had their prime rib dinner. It was excellent. The meat was huge, and so was the baked potato. My family and I had a great time.
