There was a super long line at this food truck at the boots and brews concert. Longer than the other taco stand and I'm so glad I waited in line. The tacos were delicious, the meats were tender and grilled so beautifully! I was very impressed as it was a truck at a concert. I got three tacos and it was $4 per reg taco and the super taco was $8/each!

The super tacos are killer! First tried this truck at the Thursday night market and have sought it out since. The regular street tacos were okay, but I'm sticking with the super taco next time. Would also like to try their burrito.

Wonk's taco truck was at the SJ market so I decided to try it since the menu looked pretty good. I ordered the taco plate with 3 chicken tacos and rice and beans on the side. The rice and beans were standard, and the tacos were just okay. Chicken was a little dry. They have an orange sauce that was a great topping and a little spicy!

Very satisfied with my order. This was my first time trying Wonks and it was so delicious. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries and they were not a disappointment. There was an even distribution on cheese, salsa, sour cream and meat. They didn't skip out on the meat like other places do. I mean, see for yourself I posted pictures! Can't wait to try other things on the menu!

How has this place been around for months and I'm only learning about it now? Well actually I happened upon it on DoorDash after another order of mine got messed up.. but yay for a new spot! I'm gonna hop straight into it. I bought 2 super tacos and 2 regular tacos, (2 asada and 2 al pastor). The tacos come with 2 tortillas each and are grilled/toasted for that satisfying crisp. SUPER TACOS-- The al pastor came with pineapple bits, which was a nice touch since I don't usually receive pineapple in most of the al pastor tacos I get. The flavor is decent with a light kick of spice. It's not straight off the the meat wheel but it'll definitely do the job. The carne asada one surprisingly had beans in it, while the al pastor did not. The flavor is also decent, a little more tart than other carne asada but that's probably just how their recipe is. Both are topped with a drizzle of sour cream (I believe), onions, cilantro, and lined with cheese. REGULAR TACOS -- They're your average tacos, and loaded up with lots of meat! Topped with cilantro and onions too. The standard. [VALUE: HIGH] Ok seriously look at the super taco pictures. They're HONKERS. huge. Between the super and regular, the super is like 3x bigger yo. I had two and I was like oh man.. I'm kinda done LOL. $3.50 each. it's really a steal guys. Get two and that's a huge snack. I feel like you'll be paying more at other places. SAUCES/SALSAS-- All 3 salsas are not spicy, feel free to fire hose your tacos hahaha. The orange salsa is more creamy than spicy which I did enjoy. Salsa verde is your average salsa verde, as is the rojo. I requested they throw all 3 in for me and they did so I appreciate that a lot. Restaurants sometimes miss the notes. TAKEAWAY // 4 stars- better than average tacos with premier portions! It's hard being a taco truck in SJ where there are countless options. One thing I haven't seen around that they offer are KETO TACOS and HOT CHEETO FRIES. Both are creative options I'm here for. I think I'm coming back for the Hot Cheetos fries at some point so I may revise. d:^) If y'all are hungry come smack some super tacos! P.S it looks like they do sell drinks (I saw a Jarritos in a picture) but this isn't offered on Doordash. Just an FYI for those getting delivered.

Nicely located at the corner of Tully and McLaughlin. Saucy, smoky, notes of pineapple, everything you want in an Al pastor SUPER burrito. So good.

Will was hired for my private event of 80 guests. Food was horrible. The carne asada was salty overcooked and tough couldn't even eat it. The pastor was salty gross and looked undercooked. The rice and beans were salty. The only thing good was their pollo tacos. Also the lady worker was very rude to myself, my mother, my daughter and most of my guests that day. Also some of my guests had to ask the lady worker for their rice and beans. When they asked her, "where's the rice and beans" she rudely said, "well you didn't ask for it." This is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior as I payed for 80 guests to receive rice and beans in all their plates, they shouldn't have had to ask for it. They also ran out of foil and left early. Will the owner never informed me when he got there or when he left or if there was any food left over, (I had to call him the next day to find out, in which he stated there was nothing left. Mind you i don't feel he even brought enough food to feed 80 people.) The only communication I had with Will Wonks street tacos on that day is Will asking me for payment at the beginning of my party (in which I pay all my vendors at the end of service.) And most IMPORTANTLY he did not let me know when the food was ready. Therefore, my guests didn't start eating until 45 mins later (6:45pm). He was hired for 3 hrs (6-9pm) and told me, "sorry I'm still leaving at 9pm." Very Unprofessional!!! I had a grad party for my son who just graduated from the University of Reno Nevada. It was a private event for 80 guests which included mariachis, dj, decorator, security, etc ($5,000 party). Prior to my event I went and sampled his food on Thursday June 9, 2022 at the Gordon Biersch Night Market in SJ. I was pleased with the food I sampled, Al Pastor Tacos, Asada Tacos, Pollo Tacos, rice, beans and the 3 salsas (in which I was to have for my party.) I then asked Will (owner) what would be the cost for 80 people and what did that include. He said everything here, "the 3 meats, rice and beans, 3 salsas, two flavored waters of your choice and mini quesadillas for $1000." And that he would be serving for 3 hours. I agreed and hired him for my event for June 25, 2022. I then asked if I needed to pay him a deposit and he said, "no usually I charge a $200 deposit but its ok you don't need to I'll be there." (I'm assuming he said this because my cousin is his good friend and roommate.) That same day I text him that I would feel more comfortable with a contract and paying the deposit of $200. He never text me back that day so I phoned him the next day on Friday June 10, 2022 and asked him for a contract and to pay the deposit, he replied, "Can we do this on Monday." So he sent an invoice (not contract) on Monday, I paid the deposit and then the following week I text him about the flavors for the 2 waters. He then said, "I NEVER included the waters and the quesadillas in the price and they are an extra charge of $40 each." I told him no you said, "that the waters were included along with the mini quesadillas for $1000." And the only thing you said that would be an extra charge was the queso birria tacos, which we weren't getting at all! I then reminded him that our mutual friend Marrianne was there and she stated you said the same thing and you replied, "Who's Marrianne?" I was a little confused with Wills reply being that she is the one who spoke with him prior and referred me to him. At this point I just went along with everything because I didn't want to be left with no taquiero and I didn't have time to look for another. BEWARE! This owner says one thing and does another. Very UNPROFESSIONAL! His lady worker is RUDE! The food is salty and horrible! The food was not the same as I tasted prior. He changes what's included in the price, so get it in writing the minute after you hire him. Don't be like myself and wait because then what he writes in the invoice (not contract) and says in person is two completely different things. Most importantly look for the signs of UNPROFESSIONALISM and choose wisely. Other than the food my son had a beautiful memorable graduation party! Take a look..

They were at Gordon Biersch night market and I ordered their Carne Asada Hot Cheeto fries. $15. Nothing special. Fries drowned in nacho cheese and paltry pieces of asada and sprinkled with a small bag of hot cheetos. Literally. I get that they had a lot of orders but I waited like 20-25 mins for one item. Also, they should have a receipt system for customers. Because quite possibly ANYBODY can grab an order without any confirmation. 2/5 for me

    Menu

Their super tacos are delicious! I will definitely be ordering those each time they are parked in my neighborhood. The orange sauce has a nice kick. Friendly folks and fast service.

That creamy sauce wasn't really for us, but the meat was awesome as were the tortillas and salsas. I wasn't aware about the sauce, I'd definitely go back here again and just leave it off (or get it on the side if it's your first time). Prices might seem high but these are HUGE tacos, worth every penny.

Tailgating'... Can't wait to dig in!

Grand opening! Everything was delicious, the Quesa-Birria tacos were bomb & huge! Had the taco combo plate, and the quesadilla. Salsa Verde was on point. Happy to support local business, good luck Willie doing a great job! Can't wait to come back & try the Hot Cheeto carne asada fries! All COVID guidelines followed. Off to a great start for 2021.

We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Unfortunately inflation and the economy has changed the prices and food sizes, but at least it still tastes good. Some of my favorites here over the years have been the salmon tacos, Esquites, Enchiladas De Camarone and suizas, and the bacon guac. I used to not bat an eye and order whatever I wanted, but now I do have to think a little bit more so that the bill doesn't get too high. This location has a super cute front patio, it's bright, light, and airy, transporting you out of San Jose and right to a vacation mode. Even though it's on a pretty busy road, the traffic isn't usually distracting. Parking in the area can be hard, there's a couple paralele spots and then it's all neighborhood parking on the side of the street with the restaurant. Across the street can be a little bit easier.

They have seating out front inside and in the back, but the place was pretty full. Nonetheless, we were seated quickly as we had a reservation. It is a good idea to call ahead and make one. The prices are high, but hopefully all their people are making a good living and the portions are enough for our appetites at least. I had the shrimp enchiladas, and my wife had the vegetarian tacos with a side order of scrambled eggs. There was nearly a mixup as the waiter thought we wanted to order an egg taco and that's considerably more expensive but we got it straightened out with the maitre D. We also shared a Paloma cocktail with which has a pretty color and delightful taste.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.
