Unfortunately I have to agree with most of the reviews here - the food and overall experience is not great. This restaurant is in the Prescott Market, along with a handful of other restaurants and coffee shops. You are able to order from a table QR code, from any of the restaurants. I went with some friends, and their food was ready about 15 minutes ahead of mine, which was really unfortunate. I ordered the Korean Gochujang fried chicken and rice. The first couple bites were pretty good, but I quickly realized that they added FAR too much sauce that completely overpowered the dish. I don't even want to think about the sodium content of this meal... I do think this place has potential, but the food could just be prepared quicker and better IMO. First of all the staff is phenomenal and super friendly. Unfortunately, we came here to eat not to socialize. The ambiance at Prescott Market depends on the day and time you go. We came on a Monday afternoon around 2pm so it wasn't at all crowded and actually very quiet. Later in the week you can catch more people, longer lines and a more upbeat vibe. Especially during the lunch hour! I wanted to love this place, and I did love the honey sesame chicken and bok choy. The chicken was mostly chicken, not mostly breading like you'll find elsewhere. Sauce was delicious and not too sweet. I don't know what's up with the rice here but it tasted instant or like it came precooked out of a bag. It had a synthetic, plastic tase to it. Considering that it's a staple ingredient in most of their dishes, that is an EPIC FAIL on part of this establishment. The siu mai was nothing like what you'd find at a dim sum restaurant, and tasted more like what you'd find in a freezer section. The noodles are grossly overpriced to have no veggies or protein. The portion size however is fantastic. The flavor was great and the spice level was excellent (most places say spicy and I'm underwhelmed). If I ever return, I need to sample the rice before I order. Stopped by after finding the food market and saw their premade food display. What stood out to me was the funtuan Vietnamese sticky rice roll. The roll was really good and nicely stuffed, but I would have preferred a little more filling with the pork floss and sausage ratio compared to the donut. We ate food from FOB West and Woo Can Cook.I got the kimchi fried rice and a chocolate chip cookie from "Woo Can Cook."My wife got a non-alcoholic tai basil ginger mojito. The service was good and the food was great. The seating is excellent, with indoor and outdoor seating. The only complaint I had was the portion size of the rice. It was easy to order for pickup online with a 15-minute wait for the food, but there was also no line to order when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon. Prescott Market is impressive ~ I love how each vendor brings a little something different and innovative to the table like Woo Can Cook. My friend and I ordered the Thai Basil Chicken Fried Rice Bowl and it was super flavorful. With beautiful chunks of moist chicken, sweet corn, and definitely packing the heat with the Thai chiles..oooo wee my tastebuds were dancing! Other fun menu items include the Crispy Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice Bowl and don't forget to check the weekly specials. Essentially you can also turn any fried rice bowl into a burrito too which seems to be super popular (all items served in to-go packaging). They also have drinks (NA) to-go and a kiddo menu with rice that's only seasoned with soy sauce. Love that! We ordered from a QR code on our table, but walk-up service is open too. Staff is friendly and there are plenty of areas indoor/outdoor to enjoy your meal. There's also a parking lot (it gets busy as the day progresses, fyi!) and street parking available as well. Stopping into Prescott Market during a separate YEE, the honey and I ended up ordering the bacon fried rice. Overall, I think we would have liked a smaller portion with just a touch less going on. It was delicious, but a bit on heavy side. Bacon rice is oily at heart, but adding a larger amount of egg and veggies likely would have helped. Stopped in here for a quick look and decided on one of their Non-Alcoholic drinks: Thai Basil Ginger Mojito $8. It was a refreshing and aromatic drink with a creative take on mojito (no mint involved). I definitely liked the substitute of Thai Basil with the candied Ginger bite on the mixing stick. I'll definitely return on a weekday during happy hours to try their HH specials ($5 for beers, Mexican coca cola, seltzer water or grass jelly. $8 apppetizers) and one of their weekly special stir-fry entrees. I checked this place out the day before the grand opening of Prescott Market, which is basically a food court. How could I not try it out with such an adorable logo? I ordered the Crispy Bacon Bowl, thinking that it would taste most similar to a typical fried rice, which is not spicy. However, this dish was a little spicy, which was disappointing, but I muscled through (since I've started getting slightly better at handling spicy food). The temperature of the food stayed slightly too hot the whole time I was eating it. I had asked them to put it in my clean glass container (see Eco Notes below), so I wonder if it was the glass that kept it so hot. The meat was good, but the fried rice was a little oilier than I like. I thought the flavor was decent, but upon reflection, it was really carried by the bacon and the spice. Unfortunately, the next day, it didn't really taste good as leftovers. Overall, while I was happy they accepted my clean glass container, the experience of the fried rice was just okay. Hopefully, it will get better after Prescott Market's grand opening. ECO NOTES (Dine-In) Technically, they would've provided the food in single-use disposable containers even if I ate in the food court. And, not that being Taiwanese American makes me the authority on Taiwanese food, but I've had my fair share of this cuisine in my life, and I can't in good conscience say that this was good Taiwanese food or even Taiwanese food at all. The good: cong yu bing/scallion pancake was decent. I'm not sure about the price, but it was well executed. I also didnt mind the fan tuan, but the donut was not crispy at all, so call it fusion or call it inauthentic..your pick. At least I enjoyed it enough to finish it. Not a fan: the popcorn chicken with general tso sauce was just really salty and I wasn't sure what kind of flavors it was going for. This is a Chinese American dish to begin with, but when I think of Taiwanese popcorn chicken, it is generally not slathered with sauce, I.e soggy instead of crispy. I don't even know what to say about the gua bao. The pork was extremely dry. I'm not saying you need to use fatty pork like the Taiwanese do, but this was DRY. And covered with some dark soy sauce (I couldn't make out any of the other flavors because it was just very salty). Honestly, I consider both of these dishes inedible. A couple of things: 1) Very very long time wait time for food. -There were no visible customers in front of me at the time of order, however, I believe I waited more than 20 minutes for my food. They seemed to start cooking the food once I went up to ask why it was taking so long. 2) Bad customer service -Cashier was not friendly, was not helpful with any recommendations on the menu, was serving a bit of attitude. It can be understandable when the shop is backed up with a lot of orders, but there was no customer in front or behind me, so not sure what the issue was. 3) Food was not properly cooked -I ordered a regular rice bowl with chicken, you would expect that if I had to wait so long, it would be prepared properly. I think they reheat their rice, and the white rice I got with my food was not cooked all the way through. There were some portions of it that were cooked, but I would say 30-40% of the rice was not cooked all the way. Unfortunately, with the rice being this way, the whole dish just tasted meh for me. First, the rice was hard and greasy, then not enjoyable to eat. Second, the meat was made up of odd, small cubes that looked like tiny pieces of tofu, and tasted rugged, with a tough texture. The skin and filling just kinda mushed together like a homogenized doughy texture. No delicate bite in the skin or texture in the meat. My gf was at the brewery with her coworkers and brought some garlic noodles home. I was amazed with the crispy garlic noodles and the chili oil flavor I ate the whole thing before I even realized. The texture of the noodles is as if you were to eat instant noodles straight from the bag, nice and crunchy, with the flavor of spicy garlic noodles. I went on their website to find their menu so I can go buy more things. I got their garlic noodles again and also got their kimchi and bacon fried rice. Next time I'll get it in burrito form because why not? It sounds intriguing. But the fried rice was honestly only ok. It was average tasting.
