I brought the car in for a water pump that was going bad. Kevin took notes and gave me diagnostic fee. He called within the first hour to notify me of what they found. My heater hoses were leaking and initially thought my oil filter housing was bad. I appreciate Kevin walking me thru the issues and also sent pics of the car's undercarriage to show me the problem areas. I was happy when Kevin informed me the oil filter housing was OK. It was the water leak from the hoses that made it look like the oil filter housing was leaking. He didn't charge me for stuff he initially thought the car needed but didn't. Brought my wife's van that had a small oil leak in. Halfway through the service I received a text with a link to the most detailed report I've ever seen mid-maintenance. The transparency was something I'd never seen before and knew I had found the right place. I ended up bringing in my jeep when I was picking up the van. I was dealing with a pull to the right and they were able to find everything that was causing it, even included videos of the bad ball joints in the report. Driving the Jeep to work this morning it felt like a brand new car. I couldn't be happier with the service performed on both of these vehicles. I can't say I would recommend for a smog test. They charge $85 and another $85 if it doesn't pass for a retest. The place up the street charges $55 and $46 for a retest if it doesn't pass. They were very pleasant when they offered to do a diagnostic test for $320, to find out what the culprit was for my failed smog test. Instead, I changed the spark plugs myself, and my vehicle passed at another place for $55 as opposed to the $85 from Woodcrest Auto Service. $30 difference ($39 for retest) between smog places seems excessive. read more

He was upfront and honest, letting me know that they do a good job but are often extremely busy so it may take longer than I'm used to. He let me know some other things that needed attention with our vehicle, and let me know how best to prioritize them if I was unable to do everything at once. Overall good experience here. I almost spent $2,000 out of my pocket, and they cannot fix it decently. Lack of communication and knowledge. They tried to get me spend more money to fix more things from original quote and diagnosis. First thing they should run the car to find out to see if they are able to fix my transmission. Instead of just listening to my side of the story only. I told them that I noticed the oil in my coolant. So they changed my radiator, clean up my coolant, and clean up transmission fluid department. Charged me $1850. Called me that I should change the thermostat for another $550 which I denied. I don't have overheating problem before turning the car in. Now my car still run like shit after fixing. They told me just sell your car. read more
