Good food, friendly knowledgeable servers, extremely busy, could use some cleaning. So I am a serious chile head. I hold records at several thai restaurants for ordering the hottest food of anyone. At home my go to hot sauce is Dave's Insanity ++. I was excited to try Woo's because they claim to serve the spicest food in 3-cities. I ordered the kung pao chicken and asked for the highest level of heat the cook would make. The server politely warned me this was probably a poor personal decision, but I stuck to my guns! Let me be clear, this was by far the hottest dish I have ever been served! Still had good flavor through the heat. I was able to finish about 1/2 (which the servers said is the most they have ever seen eaten) but relied heavily on water and bubble tea. My wife took great joy in watching my discomfort. Unfortunately, the food was extremely subpar and the prices medium-high. We ordered several seafood soup dishes, and there was almost no seafood. It consisted mostly of watery tofu. We also ordered the tempura platter as an appetizer, and the vegetables were extremely deep-fried, dripping with oil but no other spices at all. The cooking style seemed much more Chinese than Korean/Japanese, which was disappointing for a restaurant advertising itself as Japanese or Korean. We'll never go back! read more

Average teriyaki and gyoza. No frills with the exception of the spicy claim to "flame", I mean to fame. Portions are fair. We have gone there several times for lunch and it is hit or miss. Finally went to Woo's after hearing nothing but rave reviews from a bunch of people, and I gotta say I wasn't that impressed. It's not bad, but it's not even close to Bento just down the road. On first impression the place is kind of small, smelled a bit, and was not very clean looking. It looked like a place that had been run down a bit. But as you walk back to the counter the teriyaki smell makes you forget about that first smell. The first trip I got the Kung Pao chicken and it was giant portion which I loved. I ordered the medium spicy which was really hot. I liked the spiciness of it, but you could really taste the cayenne powder and not the flavor itself. I ordered an egg roll which was fried a few seconds to long, but not bad. The second trip I got the chicken and pork teriyaki which tasted like the pork had been bought just down the road at Winco. Not fresh tasting at all. The dish was ok, not much teriyaki sauce and the rice was chewy like it had cooked too wet. Woo's is not bad. If you're going with people who demand to go there you won't be upset. But I probably won't be going back for a third trip on my own, especially with Bento just another mile down the road and has a much nicer atmosphere, and also very clean and inviting. EDIT: 2/2/11 I've been back now three more times and this place has gotten no better. I am still in the category of average to borderline awful. The crazy thing is, I still run into people almost weekly talking about how good this place is. I'm wondering if this is the only place for teriyaki they have been because they are sadly mistaken. I was very excited to see a place like this near my favorite stores, but an sorry to say my experience was not great. We were one of the only people there and the staff never came back to check on us after bringing us our food. Instead, the played on their phones. My sister and I were incredibly disappointed in the food and customer service here. We decided to share two entrees, tried both and only somewhat liked one of them. We didn't touch the one we disliked after we tried it the one time and told the waitresses why, but they refused to remake it or make something different. Well tried again after all these months and I must say it is back on track. When I do take out it is usually Yakisoba and this did not disappoint. The noodles were just perfect with lots of veggies and pork. The sauce was a little runny and I did add some Yoshida's, but all in all it was wonderful to see that they are back. We've been visiting Woo's for years. We got Chicken teriyaki & Salmon teriyaki take-out this evening. It was delicious and the serving sizes were very large. The Pot stickers were also wonderful! Kung Pow! Addictive flavor of the Kung Pao is achieved by taking basic flavor and adding no less than 47 different kinds of flavor before vigorously mixing it all together in the magic flavor machine. That's what I like to imagine anyway. Get the mild unless you need to clear your sinuses, and regardless of what temperature you order, the waves of aromatic, face-melting belches are a bonus. Your co-workers will love them! I have tried a few other items on the menu . . . but I can't quit you, Kung Pao! The Cashew Chicken is good, as is another dish that escapes me (General Tso's?). The Teriyaki is decent but ultimately makes one homesick for the U-District. Also, avoid the complimentary ladle-full of Miso unless you have a hankering for a hot bowl of Yakima River water. Ive been here a few times. I've had their chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, chicken veggie stir fry and the Kung Pao chicken. It was all very good. I especially like their teriyaki sauce. You can taste the ginger and garlic very well. Very good service from what I experienced well. Only downside is that the food was kind of pricey for a terriyaki place. Woo's is the best teriyaki joint in the Tri-Cities! Usually very good service as well. It's always packed at lunch, but I've never had to wait long for my food. I wish they would extend their hours, as they are closed on the weekends, and it seems like every time I'm really craving their food it's on a Sunday! Plus they recently took their bubble teas off of the menu which is my favorite drink by far, and now I can't find one ANYWHERE :( I loved their pineapple bubble teas with tapioca...I miss them so! I asked if I could get my gyzo steamed and her reply was "NO!!" not a sincere no I am sorry we don't have that, but a snotty "NO!! A long time local favorite of mine! My experience is a little limited, not in the number of times I have frequented the place, but the items I have ordered. I pretty much only get the chicken and pork teriyaki. The real decision is hot HOT you want to get it!! Some of the hottest food in town!! I have tried the hottest teriyaki they have and have left sweating and needing the bathroom! This is not a bad thing, you have to know what you are getting into when you order food that spicy. In regards to quality, the meat is always fresh, i know this because I have seen them chopping up full chickens in the back. No, they are not processing birds i the kitchen...merely have fresh meet and are not buying frozen store bought, pre packaged stuff. I like how they prepare their food because it is not just a grill with sauce added afterwards. They cook the meat in the sauce, which makes all the difference in good teriyaki. The pork and chicken are always tender and taste good. My only gripe, which has nothing to do with food quality, is that they do not provide sriracha at the table, like other places do. You can request it and just get a little cup. I like to add a bunch to my rice, so I miss out on that part. Go take the fire challenge and see if you can handle their hottest sauce! read more

This place used to rock. Then the ownership changed and they got a new cook. During the transition of ownership I understand that the new cook was trained by the old staff so everything would taste the same. But, alas, it didn't quite work that way. I was a super fan of the chicken stir fry. During my morning at the office I would begin to anticipate a great plate of Chicken stir fry. But now, the flavor changed slightly and its not so great. A husk of it's former self, the food no longer reigns supreme and falls neatly into that "Just Okay" zone. In fact, when i worked nearer to this restaurant, i would go there once a week, in fact me and a girl from work called it Woo Wednesdays. If you like hot food like i do, then this is the place to go. The first time i went there, i asked for the chicken vegetable stir-fry..."Hot". The waitress started to explain to me that their food was a little hotter than most places. I casually put up my hand to cut her off and told her "The hotter, the better". (You can order mild, medium or hot). I wonder though if they are required to say that cause it happened on multiple occasions, at least until they saw I was a regular. The waitress brought out a very generously portioned plate heaped with food. It had to weigh at least 2 pounds. Now for the heat. I seriously thought the waitress was out to get me. Searing pain quickly hit the back of my throat forcing me to immediately start coughing! I could only imagine the snicker she was probably trying to stifle. "So that's how they want to play" i thought. I would show them...15 minutes later, Kelly is laughing at me. She say's that i am blowing on my food. I tell her it is hot...then realize that it wasn't really "Temperature hot" anymore, but yet i am still blowing on my food...heh. The BBQ pork was great-lot's of flavor. The vegetable tempura is good as well. I've never had a bad plate there nor have heard anything negative about the place. I recommend it to everyone. The reason it didn't score higher is that the wait staff is pretty slow and not very attentive. The decor is very plain. And the seating tends to be close together. It tends to get pretty busy during the lunch hour, but the kitchen rocks the house and keeps pumping out the food in an orderly manner. You can call-in an order in advance for pick up which helps out tremendously if short on time. Every time i go there, i promise my self that i will order the "Medium" heat next time...but have yet to do so. Why do I put myself through this? Cause it's just sooooo good. If you want a lot of good food in a hurry, then this is the place to go. The Teriyaki pork and chicken are also great. Kelly gets this as she is not into the hot like me. I came here due to the reviews here. It's my goal to at least try out different Asian places since I'm such an Asian food snob. Anyway, this place was meh. Service was good. I don't care if it's a little hole in the wall. All I care is that it has good food. I am thinking this place still use MSG. I get bad reactions when there's MSG in food. This kind of did that. It was really salty and I kept on chugging down water. My boyfriend wasn't a fan either but he had an issue with the texture of the meat being weird. I think it's the fact that they pre-marinate the meat so it made the texture of the meat softer. I see that they had a change of ownership and cook but I didn't try any of the food from the original owner and cook but I did hear from others that it was a lot better. read more

Beware of ordering the medium or hot chicken teriyaki as they will make you shed some tears, and sweat a lot. Our family ordered the Special of the day which was teriyaki chicken and white rice. I guess it was ok. The chicken was a bit dry and it seemed overcooked because it had black on it (charcoal tasting). The iceberg lettuce salad that came with it was nothing special though. Would have preferred to have actual green lettuce or mixed greens as the salad leaf. The salad dressing was awesome though. We ordered 4 of the lunch specials and paid just over 30 bucks. So it wasn't overly priced, but feel I could have gotten a better lunch at the same price down the street at the Mongolian Restaurant. Will go back if I really am hard up for a lunch but would rather go some place else. read more

Woo's Teriyaki boasts about having the hottest food in the Tri-Cities. I don't know if that's the case, but everything I have eaten there from the Pork Teriyaki to the Gyoza is excellent.....I also like their Kung Pao chicken. My only knock on the business is their limited hours....sometimes I have the craving for some great Korean barbecue on the weekends and Woo's is locked tight.
