I've had them do two jobs at my house in the past couple of years: After three other plumbers told me that a leak from our tub/shower into a closet downstairs would necessitate removal of the tub and also all the original tile (vintage 1950's), the works folks came by and suggested that we replace just a small section of tile around the faucets. We bought a grouping of very nice Mexican tiles and then they came and replaced the fixtures and set in the tiles around that and a day later the problem was solved for a FRACTION of what the others had estimated. This week I called them to install a new water-saving toilet. They quoted me a price based on just the basic removal and installation. As it turned out the old cast iron ring-plate was horrendously corroded and the plumber had to do some serious improvising to install a new stainless steel plate in it's place. There was some serious chiseling done during the installation but none on the client. The job took somewhat longer than anticipated but it got done right and they stuck to their original price on the job . . . THANK YOU WORKS! read more

I called Works plumbing this morning and Jorge was at my house about 45 minutes later!! He gave me a quote to fix my leaking shower head which was totally reasonable, so he started working right away. Three hours later he finished. It turned out the fixture was glued to the tiles and difficult to get off. Jorge and his assistant got it off and fixed my leaky shower. We ended spending a little more than the quote, but only for the new part which was reasonable. They were very polite and neat, cleaned the bathroom after they were done. Wow! I'd give Jorge and Manny 6 stars if I could! I called them today around noon with a plugged drain problem and they said they'd be right over -- and they weren't kidding. Jorge was at my front door in under 30 minutes and went right to work. He was extremely professional, obviously knew exactly what to do and got it done in less than 15 minutes. And...he spent extra time after he was done cleaning up the area...they actually left my basement cleaner than how they found it! I had a leaky water heater that needed replacement. Works sent someone quickly, but that person was atrocious. He kept trying to upgrade me to buy add ons that I didn't need and to do the replacement immediately. In addition, unlike all the other water heater replacement companies I dealt with, they charged $69 just to come to my house. When, after several minutes of trying, I finally got some written quotes (on the representative's computer), the prices were significantly higher than other companies. Nor would they give me the estimates in writing; I had to look at them on their tablet and accept them immediately. Nor would he honor any of the coupons on Works' web site. I really hated the manner of the pushy salesman, and decided to forego the $69 fee just to get rid of him. Works Plumbing seems to put all their money into flashy web sites and fancy-painted trucks and costumes for their reps, not into giving the customer a fair deal. read more

Jorge was great! I found him on Yelp and saw good reviews, but not too many. I decided to give him a chance and I'm very glad I did!! I even went as far as checking his plumbing license number with the state and confirmed that he is licensed and in good standing. He did not give me the run around and was straight foward with me about my estimate and the work. He moved my Washer and Dryer from the laundry room inside the house to the garage. He had to tap into gas lines, water lines, and drainage adding lots of piping and re-routing them around and through walls to make a perfeft fit! The job took two days and he was on time both days and ready to work. He was polite, courteous and best of all, He gave me a better deal than another plumber I had an estimate with!! His work was nice and made a great finish while also cleaning up any mess that was left over. Good job guys!! If you have an emergency, then you will need to pay very high labor costs for their services. I was suspicious of the lack of any tangible information from the person who sets up the appointments as to rates and whether the plumber sent has basic parts in their van. Since they charge $49 if you don't except their quote, I took a chance on a simple job. When given the quote of $1178 to install customer supplied single-handle garage utility faucet with supply lines, customer supplied hot/cold shut-off values, and customer supplied sink drain assembly fitting into new already installed sink, I asked if he was kidding. Basic parts to connect the sink drain assembly to the wall was minimal that he would need to supply. Estimated time to do the job was overly generous when he quoted two hours. Shop elsewhere if you have time as I'll wait for our local plumbers to be available for $166 an hour instead of close to $600/hr. read more

Not sure why this business is getting such a high review but my experience with them is terrible. They provide same day appointment and that's the only good thing about them. I would like to have the wax ring of the toilet replaced and the plumber showed up at the promised time. He exams the toilet and left to get parts as he didn't have them in the truck. An hour later he came back, opened the toilet, then determined that it was not the wax ring but the rubber of the flange got defective. He told me that he will need to prefer the parts as they are not available in their warehouse, which I think he was not telling the truth. He then put back the toilet and sealed it, the sealing job was horrible. So nothing was really repaired but he asked me to pay $350, claiming that he opened the toilet and sealed it back so he completed his work. I asked him why I was charged for the initiation fee for $49 which should be credited to the work he did. He said no. He said he was going to call me the next day and tell me when he order the needed parts. I never recreate call from him so I called the company, finding out the he no longer works there. The receptionist sounds nice but never call me back after she told me she would follow up and give me a call back. I guess this is how they do busines. UPDATES: Well, where should I start, I live in a high end condo in SF for three plus years and the past few months there has been really bad odor smell coming from the toilet. After discussing with many fellow neighbors experiencing the similar issues, I was advised that the wax ring need to be replaced. The situation got worse during the warm weather so I finally decided to ask for help. I called a few plumber companies and Works plumbing was able to provide same day appointment so I took it. They even texted me with a photo of the technician before the appointment. There was call out fee of $49 and I was told that it would be credited toward the services charge. The technician came exactly at the time promised. However, things didn't work out as planned. I was quoted an estimate before the job. After the technician removed the toilet, he was paused and said that he was unable to repair the defective part as what I thought it was. And he told me the parts needed to be backed order therefore he cannot complete the repair on the the day. He then put back the toilet and sealed it back with a bad job on the sealing. And I was charged for what the technician claimed that he completed the job by removing and putting back the toilet. He even charged me additional $49 of the calm out fee. I asked him that should be credited to the service fees but he declined and that it would only waived toward the next appointment. Before he left, he said to me that he would call me the next day to update me on when the needed parts would be available but it never happened. I called the office and asked for updates, was told that the technician is on sick leave and they have information of what parts needed to be ordered. I waited for another week passed and called back the office, was told that that technician no longer employed there, and they would investigate and call me back. I waited for a whole day and didn't get any feedbacks, so. I decided to leave a one star review one Yelp. A couple days later, i got a call from the Operation Manager apologizing to me and pronto get things taken care of. I sent him a photo of the toilet and the boot, he then placed orders and scheduled an appointment. The technician came by today and replaced the parts. All I am responsible to pay is the parts as all the labor were waived. I would recommend this company as they do value customers' feedbacks and concerns. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. BUYER BEWARE. We had a sink in our garage where the water pressure pretty much died. We called Works, they came out and told us we needed to replace the faucet and it would cost $1100. My husband said no way, they came back with $850. He said that seemed extremely high. They asked how much he would like it done for (seems odd). He mentioned that he really wasn't expecting this to be more than a few hundred. After talking to "the boss" over the phone, the plumber came back with $450. At this time, I came in and verified that all we needed to do was replace the faucet. Then I said I would YouTube it or have my dad do it because $450 was still outrageous. That night, my husband took off the faucet and found a rubber stopper that was blocking the water flow. He removed it, put back the faucet and it worked JUST FINE. DO NOT HIRE this company. I wonder if this person who came over is even a plumber. They are completely incompetent and clearly just want to gouge people. They should refund us the $75 they charged to come look at the problem since they didn't even diagnose the true issue. read more

The line was under various sprinkler lines and went under the driveway, so I was dreading the prospect of the repair. From the start, Ryan gave me confidence that he would take care of the situation. That absolutely proved to be the case. * Ryan is a great communicator. He described his plan of attack and made me comfortable with his knowledge and experience. * Ryan proved to be highly skilled and experienced. He dealt with the inevitable challenges and surprises with confidence and ultimate success. * Ryan proved to be a true craftsman. He had excellent attention to detail and made sure that the repair was not only functionally adequate but also attractive. His joints were carefully soldered, the driveway was carefully repaired, the sod was carefully replaced. The replumbing of the main cutoff valve was positioned for easy access. * Ryan's helpers were also very skilled and the whole team was well coordinated and efficient. * At the end of the repair, I was unable to be at the site, so Ryan sent me 10 pictures of all aspects of the job. That was an excellent way to end the interaction and gave me a very comfortable feeling. I hired these guys to replace my garbage disposal unit in October 2010 and just had a massive leak a few days ago (July 6th) because the main pipe basically came completely undone! I spoke to Margret and made an appointment for the morning, and they didn't show up, but Margret called me back to reschedule and they came on time. I was just planning to get an estimate for a drain, and when Jorge and Rafa came the price sounded good to me so I let them do the job. It turns out that I needed to get my pipe's replaced so I made another appointment for Work's plumbing to start the job the next week. They came on time and started the job. After having problems with hot water in the morning, I went down to check the water heater. Water was pooling in the basement from the leaking water heater. Went to Yelp and found Works Plumbing. I called at 8:15am and was told someone would be there between 10 and noon. 15 minutes later I got another call saying that someone would arrive at 9:15. Jorge did indeed show up and gave me a reasonable quote for replacing the water heater. He was very professional. Work was done quickly and he really improved the bracing for the water heater. I called several plumbers and Jorge stood out by far. He was professional - i.e., clear and articulate - in his availability (that night!) and how much his service would cost. He made it to our house within the stated time and fixed the problem quickly without any fuss. (I know because I've had other plumbers who took longer to fix the same issue or had to "go back to get other parts" even though I told them the issue on the phone beforehand).
