Had a great experience with KC! I called to book a haircut appointment, and she was super friendly. She asked me to text her some examples of haircuts I might want before our appointment so that she could have an idea of what I was looking for. Day of, she welcomed me warmly and gave me a nice shampoo with a little head massage (which is hard to get here in the US!). During the cut, she chatted with me and was really easy to talk to. I felt like I had known her forever already! She gave me specific instructions on how I should blow dry and recommended a hair product I should use. She said she sold it too but told me to check Amazon first to see if I could get it there for cheaper! I think this really shows that she's not in this to just make some cash, but that she cares and wants her clients to be happy. I will definitely come back to her for my next haircut! KC was my stylist and all I did was show her an old picture on my phone and from that she did her thing! Mariam is the best hairstylist! I have been going to her for YEARS (6 to be exact)! Never have i left the salon thinking that she has messed up my hair or cut it in an unflattering way. She is so fast! I'm in and out of the salon within 15 mins! I literally have recommended her to all my family and friends and no one is ever disappointed! My family followed our go to gal Miriam here from another salon. Miriam is AWESOME! My husband has been going to her FOREVER - she even "manscapes" all his facial hair which he appreciates! She cuts my hair and our kids hair as well and we've always been thrilled! I decided to try highlights in my hair for the first time this year and LOVE it! I've gone from short to long, layered and not - I tend to get bored easily and Miriam is always up for the challenge and has never let me down. Miriam is amazing. I have been going to her for about 12 years now. I had a bad experience with a hair cut by someone else when I strayed from her once but I will never make that mistake again! So I am very picky and not to mention sensitive when it comes to my hair. I will always follow her wherever she goes! I'm glad this is her current location though - I love this salon. Everyone else is so nice and welcoming, even though you aren't there to see them. The place is incredibly clean and inviting. African American Stylist!! Shop is clean and staff are friendly, clearly long time clients keep coming back. I am African American and I've had my hair relaxed, cut and also transitioned to Natural Curly Hair with Toya Lemu as my beautician. She always listens to what I want and then advises before cutting/styling. She really does not like to cut the length at all and I have to keep telling her to cut it. What I love about her is that she is FAST and gets me out of there in less than an hour. AMAZING time management which for African American ladies is not usually the case. I'm used to being held hostage at the Salon but not with Toya. I show her pictures and she delivers as close as she can given the condition of my hair. So nice to have a place to go in the Fremont area. As for price its standard and worth every penny considering close location and the fact that I'm not there half the day and the cut/style looks good. read more

Absolutely amazing. I heard of World Hair Design from a good friend and set up an appointment with Joel to dye/bleach my hair for the first time. Words cannot describe how amazing the results were. Joel worked hours to get the style correctly. His helpful suggestions allowed me to pick the best color, and he even spent extra time re-coloring when I wanted a darker color. My friends were all impressed. Definitely worth the money. This review is 2 decades overdue. KC is just as fabulous as she was when I was 20. I've popped in here sporadically through the years due to multiple moves. I've also been loyal to a couple other stylists who work out of fancy salons that are now too far for me to trek out to on the regular after 2 kids. KC was the one who saved my hair after my experience at the now closed new Image Salon -see my review from 2006. My brother's wedding and grays that a mascara wand could no longer cover brought me in here last minute. KC did exactly what I wanted, a root touchup and lots of layers. KC is super responsive and easy to book on text. When you call the salon and the voicemail says to text her, do just that. The salon is no frills-don't expect anything fancy but damn that shampoo/head scratch is worth more than that offer for a glass of champagne/ green tea/ sparkling water etc. ten times over. read more

She is the ONLY person that can cut my hair the way I like it (I think she is the only left on the planet that can layer hair!!) She is also the only person that I have gone to that can get my hair to lift as light as I want it. She is the best!! I have been coming to KC for a long time now. KC is the owner of the salon. For a moment, her salon was closed down and I went else where and stayed with that stylist, but then recently returned to have KC cut my hair. She does an excellent job and I will probably keep coming to her. She is also very friendly and so is everyone who works there. She actually listens to what you say when you want to keep the length of your hair but touch up the layers. I have never been disappointed with a haircut that she had given me. She styles the hair for you after too. IF you want a shampoo and wash then you do have to pay more. Her prices very from $28 and up for women and I think $18 and up for men. I've been a regular customer of Miriam's for a long time now and she is awesome. She is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what to do with my curly hair and my highlights always look great. My daughters also go to her now for cuts, ombré, and hair color. She's great at advising what works and what might be very damaging or work wonderfully. None of us will let anyone else touch their hair.
