This store is like a more affordable anthropology! Great boho stuff! Great staff... They always answer any questions, help make returns or exchanges as easy as possible, very friendly and knowledgeable. Professional management too! I love all of their different departments. This is one of my favorite stores. I come here for gifts/ seasonal decor/ and gourmet food items. I could spend hours just browsing around the store. They have amazing sale items, and great selections. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I can't forget to mention that their coffee is really good too! read more

Cost Plus is almost like the sophisticated, grown-up version of Toys R Us or something. I've purchased a good amount of birthday/Mother's Day/Father's Day/etc presents here, and I've always been able to find something cool. Even if you don't want to buy anything, it's kind of fun just walking around the store and looking at the different items they have. I like to think it's a good culture lesson of sorts. I love their selection of drinks, be it soda, water, tea, coffee, or beers. I've purchased the Belgian framboise (raspberry and peach) as well as the Abita Strawberry and Abita Amber. Location is close to Brea Mall. Parking can potentially be a pain, especially on weekends and during holidays. Prices are a bit higher, but it's kind of hard to find similar items elsewhere (in my opinion). I wish they had wedding registry! Maybe they will by the time I plan on getting married... =) read more

My bfs grandmother wanted a chair for her living room. She is very sweet lady but very particular. It can't be too big and the cushion has to be firm enough. I found a maroon floral one online that fits the description and called the store. They did a stock check and I picked up the chair that same day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

ive never been in one of these stores. the reason we came here is cuz we followed the bathroom signs and couldnt find them so we came in here. They have all the things i like. Lots of different types of foods from all over the place. My wife said we had one near us but it closed. We come to Brea about once a month. We will be stopping here more often. This is the most accommodating store in the area. My two dining room chairs got wobbly after a year or so. I took them in and they fixed it right then and there. Turns out, the screws were loose and a bolt fell out (I have little ones who climb on the chairs). They let me roam the store for hours, contemplating how to reconfigure my apartment. Supervisor of this store really understands customer service. I go to the store so much just to look at pretty things, it might as well be my second address. read more

I'm a frequent shopper at Cost Plus in orange. I went to the store and seen a sofa I wanted. The Sofa was $299 floor model price. I didn't purchase same day which I should have because the next day the sofa had a sold tag on it. I took a picture of the price and the sold paper. I went into the Brea location and I seen the same sofa but it was at $499. I was confused. So I asked y they had such a higher price. Well I found out that the sofa I seen in Orange with the lower price was not the same name that was on the Brea sofa. It seemed that the Brea associate knew exactly what had happened. The other store sold a sofa under the wrong sku number. At this point I was giving up. That's when the manager came over and introduced herself as Rochelle. She must have noticed my frustration. She explained to me that the sofa I wanted was an active Always a deal sofa and the prices are so low that I couldn't use a coupon. I was bummed. I drove all the way to this store thinking I was going to pay $300 for a sofa. Rochelle was so sweet and empathetic. This woman ended up giving me the exact sofa I wanted for the same price they had in Orange. It wasn't even the floor model. She went over and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. For that I will drive an extra ways for this kind of service and knowledge. read more

I always 4get 2 check in here but I love everything about cost plus!!! They have tons of knick knack stuff from snacks 2 furniture & everything in between. I can b in here 4 a long time, just browsing. In the back they usually have samples of self service tea & coffee. Sometimes the coffee is lukewarm & I enjoy hot coffee. I come in here mostly 2 buy snacks & wine, on occasion. Parking is bad on the weekends, unless u get here wen the store opens. Btw, they do have a bathroom in the back. Nice customer service. I like browsing this store. They have some cute jewelry which is pretty reasonably priced. Good place to shop for birthday gifts for "her"... If all else fails there is always the bathroom section which features a variety of candles/lotions/soaps. I am always on the lookout for cute things to decorate my apartment and Cost Plus does not disappoint. Especially for the kitchen they have some really cute things, and carry some specialty food items as well. read more

I want to start by saying I used to love this store so much, I would have given it 6 stars if I could have. The factor that has changed might seem trivial to some people but to me it is important. I remember coming here for years and years and they just had PERFECT music to go with this store, frequently songs would be in different languages, and it was always unique and fantastic. The last time I came here, top 40's artists were playing. What happened??? This just doesn't fit the ambiance of this store AT ALL. Honestly, I will just find similar products online now. read more

i LOVE this place! for a furniture store, we come here alot! we got all of our dinnerware and cookware here. the prices can't be beat. i got appetizer plates for less then $2 a piece. it's the perfect place to gather all your entertainment ware, with ready made boxes for glassware to candles to really good wine. i love their organic wine selection. we also drop by here before the movies for cheaper snacks, which includes alot of old time faves. the staff is also very helpful and it is very easy to return things. read more

I came here to check out a set of discontinued slipcover sofa, loveseat and chair. The prices are very very low. However, because they are being discontinued, I am having trouble to find an entire set at other stores. Ruby and her manager went out of their way to help me finding a complete set with slipcovers. They are super patient and friendly. I am more than surprised at how helpful and friendly they were in the entire process! At the end, I saved more than 900 bucks (from the original prices) and did not have to drive all around So. Cal. to find different pieces! I think they should make Ruby employee of the month! read more

My ex-boyfriend and I came here one time because he's from Australia and was deeply craving some Vegemite one afternoon. It was the first time I had ever been to Cost Plus World Market, and it was quite a lot to take in all at once. Half of the store is neat furniture, and the other half is imported food type products or weird gifts. Seeing all of these foreign goodies reminded me of reading the first Harry Potter book; I didn't know what any of it was, but the labels were enticing and I wish I had spent more time looking at all of them! Things are pretty expensive here, which is understandable as pretty much all of it is imported. The staff at the Brea store is... okay. Maybe it was just a bad day, but they seemed not-too-concerned by our presence and were too busy socializing with other customers to even say much while we checked out. Oh well. Maybe one day I'll be wealthy enough to actually shop here, but until then, I'll suffer at Ralph's with my college student budget. read more

This store has really gone downhill. Have not been in it for a while. Very unfriendly Store Manager who does not want to fairly help others. Help seems unhappy. Mark up on product prices is ridiculously high compared to other stores with similar products. If you have to return items or any other issues, you will not get the assistance you need here from their management. If Cost Plus is needed, strongly recommend World Market in Whittier, or Pier One in Brea as alternative stores. read more
