Wicked Sisters was the perfect post-hike recovery stop in Hampden! We arrived around 1:15 p.m…read more without a reservation and were greeted right away by the hostess. We requested outdoor seating, request granted. The upstairs patio is spacious and comfortable; fans helping to cool the summer afternoon. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel easy and relaxed. We ordered the Salmon BLT and the deviled eggs topped with lump crabmeat, along with (1) coffee, (2) mimosas and (1) white sangria- which was my favorite. Everything was delicious, and the patio was a great place to unwind after our hike. The music --a high-energy playlist from the night before (i assumed) still on an active loop. An interesting lunch sound treatment that didn't take away from a really enjoyable meal. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service. I'll definitely be back!

Although we were there on a Monday at lunchtime, the dining area quickly became busy and loud. We ordered some crab dip, which they were able to provide some gluten-free bread for. I really liked the crab dip! It was creamy and flavorful. After placing some salad orders, the food came out, but we were not brought utensils to eat. The meat was not cooked how we asked for it to be, and one of the plates had to be sent back to be cooked more. After around 20 minutes, we were finally given forks to start eating. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad and despite my fish being a bit underdone, it was pretty good. I wish there was more dressing on the salad though because it was a bit bland and dry. It also seemed like our waiter was super stressed as he was genuinely running through the restaurant at times.

I am plant based vegan and always get skeptical when I travel and try to find true plant based vegan options. The raw juice I had was a 12 oz and it was The Chill which had spinach, mint, apples and oranges. It was really good but could have been a bit more chilled. The food options on the menu I would definitely eat but I had already eaten prior and just wanted a green juice. However, I definitely recommend for plant based vegan options and I'd definitely go back.

Notably, this place was open into the evening, despite the name. I found the perfect occasion to try it, but what I got wasn't quite what I was looking for. While they definitely have the luxury of fresh ingredients and are all vegetarian I think, their interpretation of a kale caesar had more grains than greens. It seems weird being in the position of wishing there was more kale in my kale salad. The hearts of palm were interesting, and while I was critical for a moment of the staff having a conversation about not knowing what hearts of palm are, admittedly I wasn't quite sure myself (it pretty much is what it sounds like). However, the amount of parmesan they were cooked in was heavier and saltier than I was expecting for a salad. I'm not saying it didn't taste good, but again, though it was a full box of freshly made food, it just was not really what I was looking for. Maybe some of the other items are different.

Baltimore Bakery Crawl stop #1 of seven places! My best friend, her college bestie, her husband,…read moreand I spent Sunday 2/2 exploring different Baltimore bakeries. I tried one thing here, so this review is based on that! Pekara was a charming and unassuming bakery. It felt very Eastern European and when we arrived around 10am, a lot of things were sold out. This is definitely more of a takeout spot, but you are able to sit there if you'd like. The person behind the cashier was really kind and patient. We tried the blueberry puff. And for what it's worth, this was the group's top pastry of the day. I love that they toasted it up for us. The pastry itself was buttery perfection and the custard inside was really nice. One of us bought sourdough bread to-go that seemed really delicious. I'd come back to this bakery to try more.

Got some of our favorites -Pain Au Chocolat, Apricot cookies, Bambolini Hazelnut & tried some new ones -Strawberry Walnut cookies, Artichoke, Mushroom, Spinach & Feta & Cheese Puffs, Galette (fruit) & a Chocolate Chip Scone. Everything was delicious! Also ordered a Cappucino which was tasty. Service was friendly and upbeat as always! Just found out they've opened up an extension of the bakery with table service offering breakfast, Crepes, sandwiches and pizza to name a few. Next time!
