We were supposed to be staying in a 2bd suite for a week at the end of July this year. We arrived after 4:30, well past the check in time. unfortunately for us, our suite was not even ready. there were a few people who also were waiting ahead of us. they took our information and our cc (for incidentals) and said they would call us when our suite was finally ready. It wasn't until almost 8pm that our suite was available. This didn't make me too happy, but what can we do? It was a nice spacious 2bd suite, on the second floor. we were told that parking was available in front of the unit. this was not true. another unit had a family staying there, i saw around 20 people and they were using up most of the parking spaces. Our suite appeared to be clean. Until my toddler ran around the suite and i saw his feet! filthy!! The guest bathroom did not even have soap or a floor towel. but i called to the front desk and they brought some over immediately. I'm sure that was a fluke, because of the rush to get the suite cleaned? not sure. The suite itself had the nicely stocked kitchen, we just went to the nearby Stater Bros, stocked up on food and made use of the BBQ grill on our patio for the next few days. The staff here are all nice. That's the reason for the 3 stars. Everyone we encountered from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the security officer. The resort has a nice recreation room.. we wished we had made more use of it! But we were out paddle boarding, biking, bowling etc. We did try to make use of the swimming pool, but unfortunately the kiddie pool was the only pool available. For some reason the regular pool was taped off. A few days into our stay, there was a thunder storm anyways, so it was ok that we couldn't use the pool. I love that the resort is close to everything, i bet it would be even more fun for us during the winter. I've been to other locations where Wireless Internet is free... here you have to pay. I believe it was about $8/per day.. or $24/10 days. I opted for the latter, since it was a better deal. read more

This was my first experience staying at a timeshare resort. My friend was nice enough to let us use it. We were very impressed. I guess the resort went through a renovation about a year a ago and updated all of their condos. VERY nice. We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo. Very spacious for 3 of us with lots of room for my toddler. It's equipped with a full kitchen (fridge, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots/pans, plates, utensils, blender, toaster, etc.) The only thing missing was a rice cooker! Ha! I'm filipino so I gotta have my rice! :-) The property is very close to a shopping center with a VONS, Stater Bros, CVS, and Starbucks. Literally a 2 min. drive from the property. I've stayed here several times. Luckily, it's just a place to crash following a day of hard core boarding!!! The units definitely need upgrading. You could hear other guest's conversations and them pacing back and forth, the heater is super loud and it's hard to sleep at night, beds/pillows were not comfortable, the pots are non-stick, and parking may be difficult depending on where your unit is located. It's cool that the unit is a full kitchen, has a washer/dryer, and about a mile from the lifts! Again, after a hard core day of boarding, a comfy place to recover!!! read more

This WorldMark is situated just a little off the main drag, so it is nice and quiet. I love sitting out on the patio in the morning, sipping a cup of coffee. The staff is always professional and courteous. This is so much better of an option than getting a motel room somewhere in town. I love coming up here and have been for the last few years. I definitely recommend checking it out. Positives: Service is great. Really large, apartment size rooms - studio, 1+ bedrooms and kitchens. Great location, minutes from the slopes but just a bit removed from the business coming into Big Bear. Negatives: Not really any except having to put up with the occasionally cramped parking (multiple vehicles per family take up my parking spaces). This location alone has made my Worldmark ownership worth the cost! I could never get something so big for so little cost and often on short notice. read more

I love this place! We've been here for the 2nd time and we will be back in July for the fireworks! Couple of things: 1) Getting there - if you GPS tells you take Starvation Flats, reroute to Fox Farm. Why - it's waaaaaaay shorter! 2) There is a Vons and Stater Bros super close by - so don't feel bad if you left the "kitchen sink" at home. 3) Only one guest parking pass and it can park on the parking space, all other cars will need a permit to park in the compound area as allowed. 4) Avoid parking your car where the sprinklers go off - it's hard water and it takes a loooooooong time to remove them. 5) If you want the twin bedroom as a queen - just request it and they'll convert it. 6) Unplug the phones, because it rings and rings looking for the person who is registered for their rewards program or timeshare - annoying! We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit and had our family come with us.. Very nice! Some of the bathroom fixtures look like they could be newer/replaced, but over all the entire condo seemed to be in great shape! Stayed in the 3 bedroom/2 bathroom cabin with 7 people. Good sized rooms, comfortable firm beds. Walls are a little thin so talk quietly. Good sized kitchen, dining room, living room and a patio area with a BBQ grill which we didn't use. Enjoyed use of the basketball court and ping pong table. It's $4.95/24 hour WiFi use in the cabins. Best feature is that it's a 5 minute walk to the Interlaken strip malls with Stater Brothers, VONS, and some restaurants. It's also a 15-20 minute walk to the bridge that crosses Big Bear Lake near the wildlife preserve. read more

We just got back from a family vacation here. My parents are owners so we all travel frequently to the different properties and this one is very comparable to the others. The buildings look like mountain cabins from outside, but the inside is like a modern apartment. Spacious bedrooms and livings spaces. Full kitchen with plenty of cookware, plates, utensils, etc, including tools for the grill on the balcony. Very clean and appearing recently updated/refurbished. We saw a couple ants and called the front desk. They had a maintenance person come by within a couple minutes to spray the baseboards. Never saw another one the five days we were there, or any other critters inside. We had an issue with one of the beds and again they came immediately and fixed it, very apologetic and accommodating. Excellent customer service. No A/C! But in June, the weather was a perfect 75 degrees and there are excellent ceiling fans throughout and easily opened windows that provided plenty of fresh air. Also, early June was very light on the crowds. Not many kids out of school yet apparently. Typical amenities. Two spacious hot tubs, a smallish pool, the tennis and basketball courts. A rec room with pool and ping pong, a couple arcade games. The "fitness center" was sadly sparse, but I'm a gym rat, so I'm biased. Tiny room, all cardio machines. No weights. Clearly put there just so they can say they have one. The location of the property is excellent. Grocery stores are a quick walk (about 1 block) down the road. Lake is very close. There are restaurants all over the place. We ate at a couple spots in The Village, but mostly cooked all our meals. The concierge at the front desk was well versed in all the summer activities and very helpful in directing us to different things to check out. I'm very pleased with my stay here and we're already discussing when we'll go back. read more

Very good stay. Kids enjoyed playing tennis on their tennis courts. Kitchen fully stuffed, even spice rack with spices was there. Condo was very spacious and very clean. We had two bathrooms / two bedrooms. One bedroom had a large king size bed and one bed room had a full size / queen bed. There was also a pull out bed in the living room full/queen size. The condo can accommodate families! The only thing we didn't like is that wifi was not complimentary. It was $4.95 per day. read more

Had great experiences here before and now we have been waiting for quite some time past their 4 pm standard check in with the excuse that they're running behind. If that is the problem, staff better. There seemed to be enough people telling us how if an errant snowball hits their windows we will have problems, but not enough to get our room ready remotely near on time. I'm sure they'll probably expect us to leave on time or charge us a hefty fee. Where is our fee? Disappointed doesn't begin to describe how annoyed and angered my entire family is at this point. Also, the amenities mentioned to be open in a very specific email about what isn't open are not open. This place used to be so nice and well managed. What happened? Please don't blame Covid. We've been Worldmark members for over a decade and by far, Big Bear is our most frequently visited resort. It really is a home away from home, with all the amenities you'd want for an extended stay. The 2-bedroom units are very roomy. Well-stocked kitchen, deck w/BBQ, gas fireplace, the list goes on. They even have a decent little gym. My one complaint is that the arcade machines in the rec room don't always work. read more

We have been here multiple time after the upgraded rooms. Been here during the summer and winter. We tried another locations and rented through Airbnb. This place is much better for kids. Can not compare the amenities at the time share to the cabins. This is also tucked away from the busy main Hwy. Great location. We came here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The rooms are spacious and accommodating. There's a fully functional kitchen, fireplace, tv with a dvd player (for movie nights), washer and dryer, and a grill on the patio. The place is well insulated so its not only warm, its super quiet. There's even a murphy bed folded away in the living room for extra space. Since we're here in autumn, it's not crowded at all. So far we've had the hot tub to ourselves and hung out at the game room for novelty (it's a bit dated, but we played pool and air hockey). Lastly, it's our room is right by stater bros, vons, dollar tree, and starbucks. The employees are super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone read more

Ist time this year didnt turn out well. I slipped n fell 2x. No warning signs for slippery floors. No matts on their stairs and before climbing up the stairs. There was hard ice on the floor. Glad I didnt fracture my right leg but was hurting for days. Neighbors saw me said "are u okay" difficult for me to get up. Glad I didnt fracture my leg. Received disrespect from staff there. With disrespectful staff I dont think they would be responsible for my medical Bill's if I even went to my doctor or Er. Neighbor was loud too I couldnt sleep in there. Lots of thumping or banging next door. Walls are very thin with this timeshare company. Everywhere I've been to under them. Always loud neighbors. I just didnt report to them because I'm not a whiny owner. Instead of them complaining about my dog pls take care of your clients first and prevent injuries. read more

Pros: The room was clean and roomy. The kitchen had a dishwasher and any cooking utensils needed. Cons: The pool was cold. Several guests at the pool agreed. Our TV remote needed batteries. We had to pay for billiards and any other activities like horseshoes. There were no weights in the gym. The gym wasn't open until 7am. There was a water cooler in the gym, but they didn't refill the cups. My biggest complaint was that there were WAY too many calls about the timeshare after I said I wasn't interested during check in. We rented using VRBO. The timeshare owner said we didn't have to attend the 90 minute presentation that they were trying to hustle during check in. Annoying AF. read more

I absolutely love this place! My family and I went up to Big Bear for Memorial Day weekend and my sister who is a timeshare holder got 2 very nice large units. It has been years since my last stay at this WorldMark and I must say it's just as nice as I remembered it. The condo style units have everything you could possibly need and the scenery is beautiful! The kids loved the pool and the adults loved the spa. I must say this place made it hard for me to leave the resort . I made my way down to the lake just to say..yeah I went to the lake. We first purchased in Anaheim, CA on 12/15/14. When we checked in at the resort, we were invited to a presentation. Renee Hope Jessie and Steven Lee were the sales people that talked to us. The main reason we said yes after being there for hours and hours, was that we could travel anywhere we wanted, any time, including out of the states. Europe was the big selling point for me. The selling point for my husband, Nick, was that we could make good money off of it by renting it out and it would pay for itself. Neither ever happened. We are paying a crazy amount of money for such little in return. We have gone on a total of 6 short 2-3 day trips but have put thousands upon thousands of dollars into it. On top of our monthly payments, maintenance fees and annual charge, we have had to spend even more money when booking a spot! We've come to realize that we can have a much better and longer vacation while spending much, much less on sites like Expedia. They didn't explain the fees clearly at all. We thought we just had a maintenance fee and the payments. They didn't tell us we had the annual fee and the travelshare dues as well. And on top of that, we have had to pay about 60-100 bucks sometimes on stays. They made it seem like a dream come true. They wrote down a bunch of scribble on how purchasing this timeshare would cost less than normal hotels, food and drinks combined. Also they made it seem like it was very easy to travel the world, like Europe, yet it's hard to book a stay in the neighborhood we live in. Our second reason is the haggling. Not only do we get "really important" calls and voicemails to talk about our timeshare which are actually sales pitches, we get hassled into buying more points every time we're at a Worldmark trying to enjoy a vacation as soon as we check in. For instance, my husband and I were celebrating our one-year anniversary in Big Bear when they asked us to go to a "class" for only 60 min. Not knowing exactly what it was, we said yes. We were in there for 6 hours being pressured into buying more points!! This was almost our entire anniversary trip. The guy trying to sell us said what he was doing would not affect our credit, but when we checked the next week, we had a hard inquiry from them! Since then, we said no to every presentation, which leaves a sour face on the staff (making the rest of our trip very uncomfortable). Why would we want to visit a place that hates us if we say no to giving them more money? During those 6 hours in Big Bear, the guy trying to get us to open a credit line promised us $100 for our Anniversary dinner since it was taking a long time. In the end, because of technical difficulties, we didn't get the credit line open. We asked for the $100 and he said he was only going to give it to us if we purchased more points. read more

THE GOOD: The resort itself is lovely, and situated very close to Dollar Tree, Vons, and Bear Mountain, all within just a few minutes. The kitchens were very well stocked. There was a personal grill outside our unit which we used. The one kinda weird thing is there wasn't really a comforter. There were sheets, and then this thin brown blanket... which I guess was suppose to be the blanket, I dunno, it was weird. I kept looking for the comforter. Also in the check-in area they have free tea you can make, and sometimes coffee, so that's cool. THE BAD: The customer service lady... Not the front desk check-in lady, she was nice, but then they send you to another desk where they try and set you up with a time-share presentation (My family already is part of this time-share, so I had no obligation to attend it) They of course don't tell you this is the time-share desk and presentation & mailing list fill-out form, because no one wants to go to them, so they just say "fill this out" I took a quick look, and saw it was asking questions about how much money you make and stuff and I knew exactly what it was and said "no thanks". She then said I HAVE to fill it out, and I told her no I don't. She then said "it's in case of an emergency" This lie really pissed me off... Really? You need to know my income, email address, and home address (just a few that I saw) in case of an emergency? So I unhappily said "What the hell does my annual income have to do with an emergency?" After I called her out on her baloney, she then said "ok, well you at least have to fill out this part" I don't recall what was exactly on that part as I stopped when I got to 'address' and said "what does my address have to do with an emergency?" Her "Well if there's an emergency, we need your information" Me "Yeah, you need my name, and an emergency contact, you don't need my home address when i'm staying at your hotel in a different city." One or two more sentences were exchanged. Then (who I assume was the manager) came over and said "don't worry, we'll just get the information from the front desk" I was so over it at this point I just left, but of course, now you know for a fact she was lying about this 'emergency'... why? Because the hotel front desk already has my information! This was just the sales people who want to know how much money I make, and know my address so they can mail me spam. It was really annoying, and not how I wanted to start my vacation after driving several hours to get there. -- The hotel itself is fine, I would NOT recommend joining Windham, that was a mistake. read more

I've honestly stayed at this WorldMark 10 times, and rarely does it disappoint! The staff is always friendly at check in, and the units are amazing! Where else can you get a 2-bedroom condo a mile from Bear Mountain for like $50-60 a night (assuming you're using bonus time), and you can normally get it last minute too! You can comfortably fit 6 in a 2-bedroom unit, the units are large and spacious, with all the amenities, full kitchen, bbq, etc... I have 2 small complaints.. .1. The parking can be interesting, there aren't enough spaces to support the units. 2. (And my bigger complaint) The spa's can be hit and miss. I've had times where only 1 spa is hot, or when the one next to our unit is closed, or something like that. There's nothing more frustrating than walking halfway across the complex, cold, because the spa 20 feet away isn't working. Other than that, I will continue to stay here because I love it! read more

We use our time share anytime we can!!! people talk about timeshares and how bad they are- well people get a name brand- lol worldmark time share is nice, why? all over the world, im talking vegas to fiji to australia to the middle of the US- you pay one thing once a year and it takes points away from what you paid once a year- everytime u use it. some places you need to book months to a year ahead like Hawaii some a week ahead. My dad has used only world mark for years and no issues and he knows a website that u can buy points for cheaper per point- we have been everywhere! no issues, no hidden fee's. do you knowledge and be smart you will see the difference between worldmark and other ones BIG BEAR LOCATION REVIEW: Very nice. Same basic layout- walking distance to the lake about 10-15mins. Arco is about 5mins away- 1 pool and 3 spas. Rec Room with 2 pool tables, arcarde games and big screen TV, tennis court and 2 hoops for basketball- vending machines. Saturdays they serve breakfast for 4 bucks at the time we went. internet access is free in the front desk and they have movies to rent- All rooms have @ least fridge/freezer, stove top and microwave and toaster- I have stayed in the studio and 2 bedrooms- read more

I had a great time while I was there. When I got home I noticed I had bites and they only got worse. At first I thought it was a spider but later I found a bed bug on my six month old baby and a week later my husband found one on himself. I called the resort and the woman I spoke to said I must have gotten them anywhere but there. She said she looked at the room and didn't see anything so I was mistaken. Wow, what a treat it was to stay here and such a beautiful vacation spot in Big Bear Lake, CA! This was my first time in Big Bear and it was so lovely to get to stay at the WorldMark property. The unit was huge and I'm not sure what the floor plans look like for the other units, but the one we were in was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, a Murphy bed (in the living room area), an open kitchen, washer & dryer, spacious dining room and an outdoor balcony (complete with a BBQ). Resort-style living, with common spas (in multiple sections of the property), community swimming pool, gaming room, fitness center and a lodge area. My immediate family stayed here with some of our extended family and it was more than enough room for everyone to relax and gather comfortably. It was nice to have the spa behind our building, which we enjoyed using. It mighty hot in that spa, too. The unit was equipped with towels, soaps (bath, laundry & dish), food seasoning packets, coffee, pots & pans, utensils, etc. Everything was very clean and there was plenty of storage space to make us feel at home for 5 days. All was quite peaceful during our stay. We did receive a call at our unit from a timeshare sales person, who offered us a free breakfast, if we were interested in listening in to their sales presentation. Although this was a lovely experience (thanks to my father-in-law's connections), my family and I are not interested in a timeshare. We were a short drive to Big Bear Lake, downtown area, nearby attractions, restaurants and cute shops. We are returning guests to the property, we stayed in 2019 to attend Oktoberfest. So we are very excited to come back to this property again, but after this trip it will be our last. The hotel room smelled like cigarette smoke upon arrival, and because they had no other rooms to offer us they brought us spray that was supposed to help mask the smell. Once we got situated in the room we started discovering how completely filthy it was. The floors were dirty, the cabinets were stained scratched scuffed and also dirty. It appeared as if neither of the showers has been sufficiently cleaned. Overall the room was just dirty, used, and in need of very deep cleaning. As it was coming off of a holiday weekend we stayed at the property, instead of trying to book another hotel. We only stayed two nights, and took advantage of the nice weather and left windows open at night. Comes 6 AM our final stay night the property had contractors that were doing work. By 7:30 AM we were listening to the sounds of jackhammers, contractors yelling and screaming, cursing, scraping digging and other noises. They were doing landscaping repairs as well as pool repairs, both areas were close to our unit so we got to hear all of those noises at 6 AM. At one point in time we were interested in becoming owners in the property, that will not be happening. read more

I've stayed at many places. And I got the opportunity to stay here through my grandma as a gift. But, really, I'd be pissed if I paid anything for this stay. The water sucks, it will fluctuate in temperature automatically. There were two spiders in our room. The fridge had a sticker stating that it was "checked" and the ice maker was turned on for us but it wasn't. Do NOT get the first floor!!! I know it's easier to access, but you'll hear everything from the people climbing the stars, to them walking/stomping, to them running their shower/sink, etc. I was watching TV in the living room when all the sudden my kitchen sink made noise as if it was running. I ran over there thinking it broke somehow, but sure enough, it was just from the people upstairs. When I say you can hear those things, I'm talking clearly. You can hear every little step. Someone just set something on the counter upstairs, that's how clear the noise is. Have to have rhe TVs on 24/7 just to drown it out, which they have a volume limit on it too. Doesn't go up all the way. The fireplace doesn't work, the front door squeaks super loudly when opened. Sometimes you have to park super far away from your place too. read more

My wife and I bought the trial version of worldmark last year and recently realized that we needed to spend it before the points expired! Originally, we wanted to go to san diego or Anaheim, but they were fully booked (which wasnt super unexpected because we only booked it 2 weeks in advance), so we settled on going to big bear instead. This was our first worldmark stay, and even though we didnt get to go to our first choice spots, the amenities in the big bear worldmark made up for that difference! First off, we checked in at 330am, and the staff was very accomadating to our late check in. We had the one bedroom, which is larger than our apartment. I really liked the full kitchen with all the amenities (pots, pans, and dishes all included). The scenery is very serene and peaceful beacuse it is located a little off the main strip. Only thing is that the apartments are a little dated (tiles in the kitchen chipped, carpet looks older), but we did notice that they were renovating the spaces. Also, no free wifi. But, I had good reception on my phone, so I could still go online. read more

Rooms are pretty spacious compared to other Worldmark facilities. Units have ample dining area and a kitchen counter that has barstool seating. The unit we stayed in had an upgraded 46'' Sony Bravia television which was a huge plus considering most Worldmark resorts have a small 23'' old tube television. The location also has a pool which is nice during the summer. The only bad thing that I found with the room was that there is no air conditioning, only ceiling fans. SO if you are coming here for the summer, then it can get pretty warm and muggy inside the room. As far as location-wise there is a supermarket and shopping center a few blocks away which is very convenient. Staff is very nice. Owner updates and sales presentations look like they take place in a couple of converted units that have been fused together - a bit ghetto. But they make up for it by providing free breakfast burritos from a local store. read more

What a nice place for resort in the mountains. WorldMark Big Bear resort in Big Bear is a really fantastic facility that has a total cabin woodsy feel to it. We have a room downstairs which is two bedrooms and it's very spacious again also very woodsy and we also have a view of Big Bear Lake which is very serene. I would say watch out for Google Maps because it sends you to the backwards direction where you want to go. read more

Pros: 1. Great location within a couple of miles of all the touristy places in Big Bear. You're close to the lake, shopping center, and a couple of minutes from The Village, which is a great place to walk around and soak up downtown. 2. The recreation area is clean and has several distractions which are typical to other WorldMark rec rooms i.e., Table Tennis, Outdoor Basketball court, Pool, Hot tub, video games, Tennis, and most importantly an ice cream social from 1-2 at a cost of $1 per scoop on your sundae. 3. The rooms are small but very comfortable and not lacking any amenities and the grounds seem to be well kept. This place has a family feel and is ideal for a weekend getaway. Cons: 1. Check-in at 4pm and checkout at 12pm. If you get in here before 4pm you're going to wait in line with other people who are also trying to checkin and are unable to. 2. No matter how many times you tell them you're not interested, they always try to sell you more timeshare credits. Believe me, if I could sell mine I would. I always feel bad for new "owners", I keep thinking they could have saved a bundle and made me happy in the process too by buying my timeshare. read more

This is where we love to stay when we go up to Big Bear Lake. It's convenient to shopping and to the Stansfield Marsh boardwalk. The part of our stay I dread when we go is checking in. They make you check in, then go to someone else to get your parking permit. Then say you have to fill out a form with your personal information, "every since 9/11" but I've been there numerous time all since 9/11 and have never had to fill one out before. They threatened me with not being able to stay if I didn't fill out that form! I filled it out, in my most illegible writing ever. After that, though, the rest of our stay was pleasant. The units are tired and need some revitalization, but even at that it's better than any hotel, motel, or cabin you could rent up there. The housekeeping could pick it up a bit, too. Our unit didn't appear to have been vaccumed - bobbie pins on the floor and lots of dust bunnies. We had to wash dishes before using them as there was some residual crust on them. Overall, I still like Worldmark Big Bear and will stay there again in a heart beat! read more

I've stayed in a 1 BD Suite and a 2 BD unit here. The furnishings inside the units are in decent shape. It wasn't too bad to be of concern. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that my rooms were never available at the 4:00 pm check-in time. Once, I had to wait until 5:15 pm until my room was available. Luckily, it was snowing and being a city boy that I am, I was mesmorized by the falling snow, which killed a lot of time. read more
