I usually go to another salon, but lately their appointments seemed harder and harder to get, so I decided to try W's Salon. I got an appointment with Marc, a master stylist, for the same week. I show up to my appointment on time, and to my joy, so was he! I told him how I did a balayage before, and it was nice, but explained that it was too subtle and how I wanted more blonde in it. In about 2 hours, my new balayage felt like a huge upgrade from the last. He gave me exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated he gave his input and listened to mine at the same time. I loved the products he used too. He explained the ones I was interested in, but didn't push me to buy. I ended up buying a leave-in conditioner that has really saved the dry ends of my hair. Overall, I felt like his service was great, his balayage work was wonderful, and the price was fair. I had such a good experience that I actually do not plan on going back to my original salon. Natalie was amazing. I let her make all the decisions under the conditions that 1. It would be low maintenance and that 2. It would grow out and fade out to look natural. Despite me telling her to do whatever she wanted - she still checked with me several times to make sure I was comfortable with the plan. For the haircut, I like how she was able to add the look of volume rather than actual volume because before my haircut - I was always tieing my hair up to get it out of the way. For the color, I decided to go darker so that it would fade out to the color I wanted, however I already love the color it's at now. I also liked how Natalie took the time to teach me different tips on increasing the look of volume or how to do my bangs. Last thing I would have to say is Natalie has been doing this for 5 years. She trained at the Paul Mitchell school after high school and she is very passionate about her career. I highly recommend her. read more

I've heard only great things and I'm shocked how their receptions were so rude! Never have I been treated like this. I call first and spoke to a women named Maryanne I believe and she told me she would return my phone call with open appointments. But with that she constantly cut me off as if she was trying to get rid of me. Than haven't received a phone call and decided to call a few hours later and I now am speaking to Cacidy ? Sorry if I botched the spelling but so rude. Cutting me off and wouldn't even let me say what I was trying to get done. And the conversation ended not by me but by her saying okay bye I'll get back to you if I can. Didn't even take down my number. And treating future costumers as if there not welcomed because of how snobby they both sounded definitely was the worst for me. So heard great things but your receptions were appalling. I go into W's every 6 weeks to touch up my platinum blonde and it only looks better each time! My stylist, Chris, does an amazing job and I'm always confident that I'll walk out feeling unstoppable. I avoided going platinum for the longest time because I was afraid of the pain, damage, and upkeep, but Chris does such a great job toning my hair so it doesn't fade poorly, and made the bleaching process as painless as possible. OMG, where do I begin!? Absolutely love W Salon primarily because Jayden Ng is the best! My sister and I been coming to him for about 4-5 years now. We were introduced to him through our good friend, and boy has our hair game changed since then! It's been hard to find a hairstylist who really understands your hair. My hair is thick and wavy, while my sister's hair is thick and curly. Both of our hairs can get all frizzy and turn into a puffball, so I truly appreciate Jayden's hard work, patience, and professionalism when dealing with the hair of the Diaz sisters lol Your first appointment with him will be a consultation. This is where he will sit down with you and really get a grasp of your hair type. He will ask you some questions as far as hair products you use, nutrition, how you typically wear your hair on a regular basis, and what look you're trying to accomplish. During this consultation, he will listen to you, give you his opinion and get your thoughts about it. From here, it's all a magic transformation! And be mindful that everyone's hair type and history are different so some looks aren't always achieved on your first visit, especially if you want it done as healthy as possible. One thing for sure is that Jayden will take care of you! He is a perfectionist and will always make sure your hair looks good before you walk out the door. I love him for that and his awesome personality! I have referred co-workers, family, and friends to him and they all love him! Ws is my personal favorite salon. My mom mentioned getting a haircut and highlights and I immediately made her appointment with one of the top stylist. Anhel was able to get her booked within the week and did an amazing job. She was super happy with how it came out. I myself, also got a haircut by the man himself, William. Kimberly is my girl!!!!! (and she should be yours too). I am #blessed to have long and unbelievably thick hair (seriously, it's crazy thick), but that means it's also a pain to manage.... ESPECIALLY with a sub-par haircut. Kim has cut my hair twice and both times I have come out feeling so much lighter and prettier. Not to mention, my hair grows out really well, and I only have to cut it twice a year now. She is also amazing at color!!! I never know exactly what I want, and I depend on my stylist to listen to what I like and then do what he/she does best. After telling her I wanted to go lighter without looking crazy, she made me bRonde (not blonde but a mix of brown and blonde) and I could not have been happier with the outcome. Does the W stand for Winner? Because that's what W's Salon is to me :) Been going here for more than a year but it's time to hop on that Elite Yelper game so LES GO!! Place smells nice even upon entering. I was greeted by lovely faces (especially MaryAnn) in a friendly manner, checked in for my appointment, and they offered to take my coat, for me to put on a shawl robe thingy, and even wine! Bruh... #classyaf Alright, so I'm waiting in the lobby with my wine and then I get called up. I've been going to Jayden since my first time here and let me tell you, the haircut and wash is THERAPEUTIC. Jayden always goes out of his way to personalize and customize your session by giving you tips on how to style your hair, explains what exactly he is going to do for your hair in the particular session, and is very easy to talk to about anything, even your personal life. Lighting be on point for those selfies too. You leave the place looking and feeling like a million bucks. Which is crucial since this place is smack dab in Santana Row. Jen cut my hair into a lob (long bob), and i can't explain enough how happy I am with it. After I had my hair permed in 3rd grade, bangs and all, I vowed never to let anyone touch my hair again! I'm sensitive with my hair -- hair this good deserves the best, knowwhatimsayin'? For the record, my hair is long, straight and a little bit on the thicker side, though still very soft. It's very hard to style because it's so heavy and straight - I can never get my curls to stay curled! When the time came to finally let go, I stumbled upon W Salon with my older sister. She used to be a client at Umbrella but they lost her appointment so she refused to go back (their loss!). Originally, I saw Monie but she moved on to start her own salon, Shampoo Dolls. Monie is great and I highly recommend her as well :) However, I currently go to Isabel at W Salon and she is fan-friggn-tastic! I notice W Salon has a lot of yelp reviews from questionable yelpers (no pics, no reviews) but the truth is, Isabel at W Salon is GREAT! Here's why: 1. She's very experienced. She travels all the time to learn latest techniques! Every time I go there, she tells me how she went to New York or Los Angeles to attend a workshop. I prefer my hair cut with razors and she works them well. 2. She makes you look like a million bucks. Seriously. She does. After I get a haircut, it's like I'm ready for the catwalk. My hair is plagued with baby hair that sticks in all sorts of directions but she manages to tame them all. I get tons of compliments on my hair and people ask where I get my hair cut. I've referred friends to her...maybe I should get a discount, can I get an ahem!?!? 3. She's super sweet. ...And not in that salesman-fake way either. She's never NOT happy. Every story she tells me, whether its bad or good, sounds so pleasant coming from her! Like, damn girl, what are you taking? Can you give me some or what? I thoroughly enjoy talking to her and the conversation never feels forced. 4. She listens. I once told a stylist that I liked my hair cut with razors but she decided to use scissors anyway. I hated my haircut! Needless to say, she no longer works there. But Isabel listens and doesn't try persuade you otherwise. I like my hair long and she totally understood that -- she has long hair too! I A stylist should listen to you and help you if you're unsure. Isabel definitely does that :) For the most part, the receptionists have been really nice and professional. I would recommend Isabel first, and then maybe Erika. I asked Isabel who cut her hair (it's beautiful) and she said Erika does. I know it's pretty nerve wrecking to get your hair cut by a stranger but Isabel is so easy to trust. Plus it doesn't hurt that I grow my hair out long enough so there's room for error but still! She's great :) She charges $75.00 and I see some people are crying over the prices...someone call the waahhmbulance! It's a trendy, chic salon in Santana Row with a kick ass stylist, what did you think it was going to cost? I can point you in a cheaper direction: Supercuts. I think a lot of girls and guys who really love beauty and trend must did the same thing----BEFORE you find a perfect salon, you have wasted a lot of money on trash. This bad place only have a fashione decaration. The Director who has so expensive price which nearly 200 but only worth 20 !!! He just pretend to be a professional stylist and sissy like all guys in entertaiment circle!!!! But Rember!!! Sissy won't be any helpful to your less-experience and trash skill!!!! I spent 450 for just regular, no any fashion ratio cut and fail colour!!! My hair looks like a weired map on which black bordered gold!!! This guy who only know how to show off his japanese suit was so mean, non-respect and less- educated for his guest when I complained this case to him!!! The front desk girl was also terrible and bad attitude with him together !!! ONly the colour guy was honest to this fault and wanted to reduce 20 dollars~~ I understand now why here are sooo many bad comments for this salon!! I should have looked up by YELP before, not just by walking pass this fraudulent salon!!! 2 stars. That's due to the device provided and the sales mentality the stylist have and are focused on versus cutting your hair. I was charged for a "treatment" that I need wanted nor agreed to and was pushed products until I got pissed. I'm very disappointed since since was my 3rd time here and the other times wee fine. 2 stars were for the tea an coffee they have while you wait to get ripped off. FYI I'm a guy with short hair who could care less about $35 treatments and $100 products!!! Never again!!! read more

I ended up coming to W's Salon out of desperateness to redo a tone that was fading since my regular colorist was out of town. As someone who doesn't like to spend tons of money to get seen by a master stylist, that was my only option at W's Salon, so I was like "Hey, might as well feel safe and just go with it this time and go back to my regular colorist after." -- what a mistake. I was seen by Paul and all I wanted was a tone. My hair had been ombré-d awhile back and so in my slow transition back to dark, I'd ask to tone the transitional areas to a slightly lighter brown than my natural hair and the blonde tips to an ashy light brown. My regular colorist had accomplished this look perfectly, of which I showed the picture to Paul and he even responded "Wow, that is beautiful". He then told me that he had an idea of what to do, so I assumed that showing that picture along with a few more showing more similar would do the trick. I mean its a tone...worst comes to worst, it just turned into all brown and it'll fade anyway. Although my hair isn't ugly by any means, where the hell did a red tint come from? After a few days I noticed red tints in the sun when I never had red before...I mean before ombre I was a full blonde. This is where I discredit a master stylist's position. Wouldn't you know how to mix colors to avoid warm tints after a client says they like ashy? Also, with both of us being middle eastern and addressing it, you should know middle easterners tend to have natural warm tints, so when I try to avoid it, it's for a reason and we both know that once red's in the picture, it's not going anywhere until my hair grows out. So now what? Let's wait and see, that was in December and today (February) I still see red. Let's hope my regular stylist can fix this mess. I'm sure this salon has some talented artists (yes because that's what hair colorists are) since I do have friends that rave about it, which drew me here in the first place, but this experience has lead me to believe this salon is just another cliche Santana Row aesthetically pleasing, yet mediocre business. read more

Recently experienced my first time at W's salon, I had walked by it many times and never noticed it until now! A clean and modern salon with black and white decor, the walls are lined with high end professional products: kerastase, shu Uemura, etc. and the right ambiance for a small trendy salon tucked into Santana Row. My stylist was Jacob -- who was awesome! I went in for a cut, desperately needing my hair trimmed and re-layered but hesitant because I've been trying to grow my hair out and everyone always cuts too much. Jacob listened closely as I explained what I wanted, consulted with me in regards to what he planned to do, and in the end, gave me exactly what I asked for -- body and movement without taking off too much weight. He then blew out my hair so it was light and bouncy. Even if you don't need a cut, see him for a blowout. read more

He is a true professional - a gifted artist not only with cut and color, including ombre and balayage, but also in customer service and personality! His disposition is always cheery and friendly. He listens to what I want done and offers other options as well. He is not only a fabulous Stylist, but also the Salon Manager. The salon itself is beautiful and is conveniently located in Santana Row. The staff is attentive and helpful. There are lockers to put your personal belongings in and you are always welcomed with a beverage of some sort. I was a walk-in client, was given a 12:30 apt and arrived back at 12:20. The receptionist said I would be seeing DAVE and ushered me into a small closet to get a robe and said she would get me a key for a cubby to put my things in. Around 12:30 a woman left and I waited for the receptionist to bring me a key, I had to finally go get it myself. Around 12:45 someone handed out a small bottle of water at which time I asked a gentleman what time he had. I waited 5 more minutes and DAVE never appeared. The receptionist never came back to check if DAVE collected me to get a haircut and color. The customer service is lacking at this salon. Between DAVE and the receptionist, I was ignored for over a 1/2 hour. Do these people think I have gobs of time to sit around and wait for them? This salon lost a client, are losing the possibility of new clients because through word of mouth, they wont get any of my friends or acquaintances to give them any business. I have never been treated so poorly as I have at this salon. LOST CLIENT, LOST TIPS DUE TO POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Maybe they need a salon takeover by Tabitha. read more

In all my years, I have never been unhappy with a single service I've received. This is where I came on my wedding day! My current stylist is Elisa Bunnell. She is so creative and very talented at her craft. All stylist are very well trained at this salon and are constantly furthering their education, always keeping up with what's fresh and modern and I highly value that. Marc is an absolutely amazing man with such master skills that I don't think I can call him a stylist or hairdresser, he far surpasses those expectations! I showed up with hair that I wasn't happy with an highlights that weren't looking so good now that they had grown out. He decided what he was going to do and I just let it happen. I had gotten a glowing review from a friend and was just willing to try something new. Here's why I like what Marc did to my hair: - it looks good even after he fixed it. - he cared about how I regularly style my hair instead of going for the usual cut & curl - he's not super chatty, especially when he's in the zone (I dislike super chatty people that make it awkward when there is ANY silence) - and he knew better what to do with my hair than I did. - AND when the color grew out a bit, it didn't look like I had even colored it. Starting from when you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly staff and escorted to their seating area where they take your coat for you and then provide you with a robe. Then they offer beverages while you wait for your stylist. My stylist is Jayden! He is the best, I've been seeing him for about a year now and I've never gotten so many compliments.
