I've been coming quite often to WTFalafel but usually in the afternoon or lunch. My friends and I have always enjoyed the food and very friendly service during the day. The food is fresh, well seasoned. The family that owns and works the place are friendly, fast and efficient. Based on my experience during the day, I would have given WTFalafel a 5 star review. Unfortunately, our experience tonight was less than stellar. I brought my wife and Mom for a relaxing Friday night dinner. We ordered 2 iced teas and my mom ordered a coke. Before our server left, I interceded and asked her to bring a Diet Coke instead. She replied that they only had Diet Pepsi to which I replied back that that was fine. She came back with 2 iced tea and 1 diet pepsi. A few minutes later, she brought a glass bottled coke, popped the cap and put it down on her table fairly loudly, almost slamming and ran off. Although the place was less than half full, she seemed to be busy with to go orders. We ordered grape leaves and falafels, mixed shawarma and the chicken kebab. Leila suggested I order a side of rice since the shawarma platge does not come with the rice to which I agreed. Some observations during our dinner: 1. Service was a bit slow. We were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours 2. No silverware was provided before we got our food. We had to wait to get her attention to ask for silverware to eat with 3. Our food was less flavorful and warm but on the verge of being cold compared to previous times I've been there. Seem to be sitting for a while before it was brought to us. 4. Server was in so much of a hurry, she was slamming plates onto the table. 5. She never brought us the side of rice she herself suggested we order but charged us for it. We had to ask for an itemized check so we could see what we were charged for. She just brought us the POS that was prompting us for a card and a tip. I am painstakingly providing detail because I enjoy WTFalafel and have recommended it to many friends. I know they can do better. I understand that none of my complaints were done to me intentionally, perhaps it can be used as a learning experience for the establishment or a guide for customers to visit earlier in the day for better food and better service. read more

Great spot for Mediterranean food! I got the beef shawarma plate super flavorful and cooked perfectly. My sister had the lamb skewers, which were also delicious. I came here since I was in the city visiting family. I was craving something and saw this close by. It's located in the same plaza as Farmer Boys, across in n out. There's no U-turn at the intersection to enter the plaza so I had to go around. I chose to try their chicken shawarma which came with pickled turnips and garlic sauce with hummus as the sides. The chicken was moist and hot with the warmed pita bread that was piled on top and the chopped lettuce and tomatoes. A large amount of tables but the majority of people were ordering take out. The service is seriously awesome. It feels very welcoming. The atmosphere too. Last year when I came here I wasn't impressed with the falafel, but this time it was spot on. They were crispy, cooked all the way through and flavored well. I'll come back so long as they keep it up. We also had a gyro sandwich. The gyro was great but the meat was cut in larger pieces. I had a short time span to dine and dash (paid first ;) and the wonderful lady who took my order said she'd ensure I had my food ASAP. I liked the sound of grilled tri-tip seasoned Shawerma style, and the meal also included a salad and hummus, as well as pita bread. On the side were pickled jalapeños and turnips, and a portion of tahini. As promised, the food arrived inside five-minutes, a great achievement since the meat is grilled to order. The presentation is also unique and lovely. I'm very experienced eating Middle Eastern food and always enjoy the variations in family recipes be they Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian et al. Covered in sumac, the only way if you're not acquainted with this slightly piquant spice best sprinkled liberally. That hummus though! They use a good quality olive oil too, yum. While the meat has a little more fat on account of the cut than Shawerma elsewhere, it's a fantastic choice. I also like their take on the side salad and its subtle dressing. People who have complained about the service are impatient and clearly don't know what it's like to be a multi task waitresses! I give credit when it due! We're regulars since we go to the gym next door. I always order two number 16's (lamb and beef gyros) and my partner orders the WTFries with beef. We've tried other items but these are our favorites. Chicken orders tends to be a little bit on the drier side but lamb and beef are perfect. Sometimes the portion sizes are a hit or miss but nothing to complain about because we still support and love to eat there. I got the Tour of Beirut combo plate with chicken, steak, and kaftan. It came with rice, pita, hummus, pickled turnips, and a creamy yet sharp dip that I didn't recognize. I looked it up and it's toum. Delicious, creamy, rich, yet with a nice bite from the garlic. The steak was cooked just right. The chicken was juicy and tender and excellently seasoned. The pita came out warm and fluffy. And the hummus! Bright and creamy and smooth. The fries are perfectly fried crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I loved every bite that I had. I didn't care for the pickled veggies but the onion was so steamy and delicious. I would say service was good and okay. I'm giving it 4 stars though because there were these white bugs crawling on the table which made my skin crawl a little but I was eating Togo and not dine in. It was a little muggy and hot inside with no AC so I would do Togo again. I also didn't like the falafel sadly. I got 6 and only ate half of one and threw the rest out. Two of us ate the chicken shawarma and one had the chicken kabob plate. The chicken kabob plate was really good. The chicken was a bit charred which is exactly how I like mine. Their hummus is very good and so is their garlic sauce which I normally find overpowering. I eat Mediterranean food often and their hummus and garlic sauce is my favorite. I tried the veggie kabob plate which was a generous portion that made for great leftovers. The veggies included well seasoned zucchini, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. The hummus was more chickpea-dominant than tahini, so it wasn't the creamiest hummus I've ever had, but it was tasty and much better than store bought.
