I think we will try them again sometime in the future and maybe we just came on a off night when looking at all the reviews. Biggest issue is everything came out lukewarm at best when the location didn't have that many tables present. Beer bread was recommended and it was alright the tops were pretty hard we had order chips and queso and ended up dunking it in there. Chips/Queso was lukewarm almost cold but had decent flavor it was a little smokey with the pulled pork. We ended up both ordering the burgers which again they were alright there didn't seem to be much seasoning on the meat itself which was a let down. It was ok, but what I had expected was a cut up ribeye in a sandwich, what it was more like was a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Service was on time and attentive throughout our visit. This is a historic location in Old Town Spring and a must visit. Family friendly and good for large groups. Close by parking is tricky but usually available, few blocks of walking (if needed) to the restaurant is kinda nice. Reasonable prices and serving portions. Outside area not very lit, but manageable. We asked for a seat next to a window and we're obliged. Skimming through the menu, we ordered burgers. The burgers came out fairly quickly. I will admit - my expectations were not high, but I was pleasantly surprised. The burgers were juicy and flavorful - my son who doesn't like to eat liked his as well. While there, we did see some trains pass which was cool. They also let us explore the upstairs which retained its 120 year old charm. So.... been a couple of decades since I was here. It has expanded, revamped and opened the 2nd floor. Pros first: good selection of items, plenty of salad options, sandwiches and burgers plus (surprise! ) chicken fried steak! Restaurant is decorated nicely, warm dark woods in one section, lighter in the lower section. Service was attentive and quick and food was to the table FAST! We ordered a smoked chicken salad, a Wunche burger and onion rings. The salad was quite good with a chipotle ranch dressing.... Cons? Our order was verbal for 3 items. I personally an not a fan of verbal/memory orders. The reason? People forget things. In this case no onion rings, one thing I was looking forward to after a 2 1/2 hour drive. 2nd, the burger. Good bun, fresh veggies, thick cut tomato, thick patty...but no flavor. I think a burger should be great with just meat and bread, but this needs some seasoning or a nice pan or grill sear.
