I drove there for lunch Friday. It was awful. I used to go here quite often. I ordered the Combination dinner General Zao's chicken. The BBQ pork was very hard and very dry. Just tried this place for the first time and I should have listened to the reviews. We got the dinner plates #4 and #8. The orange and sweet and sour chicken had very small pieces of chiken inside, the fried shrimp wasn't good and the beef broccoli was not good either. The food looked good for about 30seconds before we started eating eat. I didn't have the guts to tell the nice server that we didn't enjoy the food. But I think she knew since we left most of the food on the plates, and not in our stomachs. read more

I am always looking for decent Chinese food in the Portland area. Our family has a cabin up at Mt. Hood and we usually stop somewhere for dinner on our usual drive up on Thursday evenings. We found this place by accident and I am very pleasantly surprised! It doesn't look like much on the inside (the lighting is pretty awful) but the staff was very friendly right off the bat and the booth was comfortable. The hot and sour soup was really good especially on the miserable, rainy day that we were there. I love hot and sour and this did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken with tangy sauce and it was GREAT. Also a huge portion which I love, I always like to take some home and make omeletes with my leftover chinese food....so good. My husband got a combo meal with fried shrimp and chow mein, very tasty also and again huge portion. So glad we've found a new place to stop off for some good Chinese! This place was HORRIFYING. I cannot for the life of me figure out how it got any good reviews. I ordered the egg rolls, and my sister ordered the almond chicken. The chicken looked under cooked and tasted rancid, and the egg rolls had about a half inch of soggy, greasy fried-ness, and a repulsive inside of what looked to be celery and mushrooms. The waitresses were rude and slow, continually walking away from us as we were trying to talk to them. For the price, ambience, and location of this spot I would say it's a pretty solid place to eat. Honestly I just stopped in here because I always get gas at Safeway on my way to Bend. Its pretty much a hole in the wall as far as decor, etc. and the service isn't anything special but wasn't terrible either. I eat a lot of Chinese food and this is definitely more of that Westernized lunch special type of spot. But of course there's nothing wrong with that at all! My entire meal was $10 including a drink and my tip. And the quality of food was good, much better than any other Chinese fast food I've ever had. Maybe i'm spoiled moving here from SF area, and having an amazing chinatown to go to, but this place just lacks in auntenticity. Anybody who knows anything about a potsticker knows that it is a meat filled dumpling that has been steamed and then pan fried.(they like to stick when being fried, hence the name) So when a restaurant decides to deep fry a meat filled dumpling and then call it a Potsticker... it sends up a red flag. Even worse, it tasted as if the oil they used to deep fry my potsticker hasn't been changed in a while so my deep fried dumpling had a burned taste. I'm going to stay away from this americanized chinese let down. If a restaurant will not take pride in every item they decide to put on their menu, then it is telling of how the rest of their dishes will be. They might as well start selling burgers and fries like the rest of the Chinese/American food restaurants in the area (Saw the "award" on the wall, but the empty restaurant on a friday should have been my first clue to walk out) read more

We have been going here off and on over the past 3 years. Food quality has been real hit and miss. Last night we went and I ordered a number 8 with sweet and sour chicken, instead of the orange chicken and my husband ordered a number 6. Food came out extremely fast, which led me to believe the food may have been cooked ahead of time. My bbq pork with extremely dry, burnt and could not be cut with a fork, my chicken was super tough, very dry, a lot of pieces of fried batter with no chicken. When I asked the waitress about the dry pork, she looked at me like I was from a different planet. My husband said his general tso's chicken had a really bad taste to it and stopped eating it. He said it was so hot that it felt like it just came out of a microwave. Really early this morning my husband woke up sick and continues to be sick and believes that he may have had something bad to eat. We will not be returning. read more

This is my all time favorite place to get Chinese food! My favorite dish is the crab puffs, this place has the best I've ever had! Also good are most of their fried chicken dishes (sweet & sour, orange, lemon...), their sauteed green beans, soup and their pork fried rice! I actually have cravings specifically for Wu's Garden pork fried rice and crab puffs! The staff is nice, though some of them don't speak very great English but thats okay, I am willing to overcome a language barrier for some awesome, reasonably priced, terrible for you but oh-so-delicious food. Not to mention the drinks are cheap and usually made pretty strong. The decor in this place is a little lacking...but I guess you can't complain! read more

I've came to this restaurant a couple of times before and was very unsatisfied with how their customer service was. I tried giving it another try today but when I first entered, the lady looked pissed and didn't even greet me. I grabbed a menu and told her I would be ordering takeout and she walked away. A few minutes later, I decided I would be dining in and she gave a big sigh and started talking under her breath like me dining in was such an inconvenience! I tried to hold my composure but she had such a bad attitude the whole time and had the look of someone who wanted nothing to do with customers, so I left immediately. I'm surprised people still come to this place. I could understand if the food was amazing, but that is also mediocre. read more

I've witnessed many times the owner yelling and swearing at customers I've seen him steal tips off of tables from his own employees and not even care and to me that's a bad way to run a business! I'm very impressed the food. Hot, fresh, tasty and lots of it. Enough left over for tomorrow's lunch. Very disappointed. This was our go-to for Chinese food. Sadly the quality has been going down hill for the past several months. Last time I found a hair in my food which they promptly argued that it wasn't. About a month later, we tried it again and the rice was broken, mushy and in a clump. It was gross. The General chicken was the same way. Mushy and soggy. We asked for extra red sauce and you'd think we asked for their first born. Very stingy with it. I had a terrible experience with a waitress at this establishment. I frequented this restaurant with my husband and whenever we had her as our server she always looked unhappy and inconvenienced. However, this last visit when I asked her for an extra little dish of sauce for my food she stomped over to me, handed me the sauce, and then chewed me out for asking for it. She was so angry it was hard to determine exactly what she was saying, but it was very disconcerting and ruined my evening. I wish she just would have politely told me no instead of blowing up at me. Yes Pavorn, portions are big, in fact they were so big they soaked the plastic bag, and yes the food was greasy, very greasy. This was not happy food even though I ordered the Happy Family. I used to love this place until I just received the worst service of my life. My husband phoned in our order and the woman, Nancy, never read the order back, couldn't get our number right and didn't give us a time to come pick it up. After guessing that it was long enough we went in and it was wrong. Nancy then proceeded to try to convince us to take the wrong order. She claimed she read it back and that we needed to pay better attention next time because her English is bad. After we told her to fix it she got really upset and rude. She slammed her pen on the register, tossed her calculator and had a real attitude. I do not think customer's service is a fit job for Nancy, but I will not have to worry about it because I am never going back again. read more
