I've only ever left a few reviews but Wycliffe deserves my time to leave this review. So....had to slam on my brakes on the toll way just north of I-10....something wasn't right when I started going again...and I could smell a burning smell and could feel a drag on the truck .. .got off the freeway..pulled into nearest auto repair place (which was Wycliffe)..they diagnosed the problem/ showed me the damaged parts and started on my repair right away even though they were busy...they knew I was 45 miles from where I live. I appreciate the way they treated me and the honest job they did...I wish they were where I live. I would have them take care of all my vehicles. It's stressful to have car trouble far from home. August 2021 Review Don't miss the entrance sign as it's right next to a former gas station. Took my car here for an inspection and process was efficient! Staff was super friendly. Took one of my cars here for inspection. I've taken my other cars here to get inspected with no issues. But not this time. This recent inspection was a bad experience. It all started out OK until they came back to me and said my rear brakes are worn and that I will have to come back to get it re-inspected. I asked for a repair quote. Front desk Kant came back with a almost $400 repair quote for "cracked rotor" and worn rear brake pads. I was in quite disbelief as the car only has 43,000 miles on it and it is not driven very often or very aggressively. I declined to get a repair from them and said I would get my own mechanic to do the repairs. I went straight to AutoZone and bought rear brake pads and replaced the rear brake pads myself. I also inspected the rear brake rotors for any issues, and there were none! I then took the car back for reinspection and it passed Fortunate for me I know how to repair cars. I am sure others are not as fortunate . I did not fall for that unscrupulous car repair pressure sales fraud tactic. I thought I could trust this inspection station since I've been here with my other cars numerous times without issue. Needless to say I will not be back to this inspection station. I recommend you stay away, I'm not sure if it was the mechanics or the front desk lady who perpetrated this attempted fraud but in either case I learned a valuable lesson. read more

So this morning I woke up to a very low tire. I had to get to work so I just rushed to the shell station to have air put in the tire. It stayed full of air all day at work. After being scammed by the McGill Toyota dealership, my experience with Wycliffe Automotive, Julian and his team, was a breath of fresh air. I could tell by my initial phone call with Julian that I made the right call. He was knowledgeable and friendly even before I brought my car in. On Saturday morning, I dropped my car off after a quick conversation about the problem. In 2 hours my car was repaired and I had saved 1000 dollars and had peace of mind about my vehicle. Julian was friendly, constantly communicated updates, and even sent me photo evidence so that I could get my money back from the dealership. Ok let's first get all the typical stuff out of the way: these guys have awesome knowledgeable mechanics who do great work in a very timely manner. They are family owned and operated so none of that corporate company stuff that. Great location at Beltway and 10 so easy to get to. So what makes them so special? The people do. From the moment I set foot in their place they made me feel welcomed and we're very sympathetic to my being a one income family and my financial situation after shelling out $1350 to a different repair shop. The we're able to not only work out a discount for me but also allowed me to get my car back while making payments to them. They have a life long. Untrustworthy family owned business. I took my MB in for an AC tune up and they didn't do anything. The customer service was terrible the front desk people acted like they didn't speak English. They also broke my AC vent in the car, like one of the easiest things not to break but they broke it. This was probably the most sketchiest automotive shop that I've been too, as soon as I arrived and saw the people who ran the place, I automatically felt like this is the place where you get ripped off and your car is left in worse condition then it was when you brought it in and sure it enough it was. Very unpleased, I wouldn't even hassle with going to this place. I for one would NEVER BRING A CAR HERE EVER again. read more

Went in for oil change and inspection... this is a small shop and you pay in a small room. Problems: 1) masks are required but employees in room don't have masks on. When I brought it to their attention they got angry. 2) Car was not ready on time even though they have almost no customers.. somehow blamed me. I had to comeback an hour later. 3) This was my last time.. but even though I have been there at least 10 times and dealt with the owner...he didn't know who I was or have any records of previous visits. Even before computers there was better record keeping. 4) They don't respect their customers during a time when service is so important...you can see it in the owner's face... he just doesn't care read more

They work with Carvana next door on minor repairs, but unfortunately this doesn't make them any more professional. They did a terrible job replacing some torn door weather stripping on a used car I purchased next door. The interior panels were loose, weather strip wasn't seated correctly, gaps were showing, and maybe worst of all it didn't look like they used gloves because the interior fabric around door was covered in grease. A very "shade tree mechanic" job. Only after pointing all this out to them, they did clean and reclip the panels, but still couldn't get the strip to stay down correctly. read more

My boyfriend just came home extremely upset because he bought a groupon for a freon refill here. Not only did it not specify that it was apparently only for a partial refill, they were going to charge him an extra $50 for a full refill. He was confused, saying that the groupon said "refill" and not "partial refill". Although it was a simple miscommunication, they were incredibly rude about it. They started implying my boyfriend was trying to scam them when all he wanted was to figure out why he was not going to be receiving the service he was looking for. The combative attendant made him incredibly anxious and he came home visibly shaken. I find this absolutely unacceptable and hope that they will work on their customer service for the future. read more
