A man named Ken was very efficient in fixing my iPhone. I thought I was going to have to buy a new one before I went in.

This review is for the service at the store, not the cable service itself as those are two distinct things. Over the years I've been to this location several times, especially after the location around 32nd and NE Sandy closed. Sometimes it's a quick pop in to drop off equipment that I no longer need. Other times I have stopped in with questions and to get assistance with the service package I have to ensure I'm on the right plan. Yes, I can call, but the telephone prompts and service can be maddening so Sometimes I need face to face interaction. I'm grateful they have a brick and mortar for this purpose. Typically I never think I'm on the correct plan based on my needs, which are basically internet and cable access, no premium channels. I continue to strip down my services but prices always increase. It's a service I haven't figured out how to live without, but feel it costs far more than it should. Like with all customer service, the level of service depends on the rep. Sometimes I don't even get a greeting when I walk in and I have to be super assertive to get assistance. The person at the front desk basically screens your need then passes you off to a rep. The reps have done a good job with explanations. Like autopilot, they go into "sell up" mode, which is the direction of their leadership. I save us both the time and politely cut them off and let them know I don't need to bundle everything I have, all I want is an answer to my questions, not more ties to Xfinity. They are located opposite of Safeway in the Rose City Center on NE Sandy with plenty of parking out front. read more

As our latest Comcast contract was ending, I thought I'd see what kind of deal I could get from the brick-and-mortar store as opposed to a Comcast phone representative. The store rep said the best deal he could offer me was forty dollars per month higher than the identical package I later negotiated over the phone. The store rep insisted that I couldn't get a better deal than the one he was offering and badgered me, saying I was foolish to try and only wasting my time. Two stars since I had a good experience previously at the store swapping out a cable box. My advice: depend on the Xfinity store for hardware, the phone for renewing a contract. read more

Called to get my bill reduced because you know, "my promotion is over" and it went up $25 a month. Never could get through to an actual human. Just an agent via text message. As soon as they figured out I wanted to save money and not spend more on something else, the "agent" completely stopped talking to me. I went in there yesterday to return some equipment and they proceeded to disable all my current equipment. Got home and had no TV service. Real rewarding experience! I proceeded to spend a long time on the phone with COMCAST and they were not able to repair it remotely, although it had been done remotely. Ridiculous and very frustrating experience. read more

We signed up for Xfinity a little over a year ago with a 2 year commitment for $179 a month. We looked on and they'd up the bill 2 months ago to $194. They just upped it every though we had an agreement. If we didn't keep our agreement we would have to pay for the rest of the time. Liars. I guess it's not a two way street. I hope anyone who reads this understands that this was my experience and my experience alone. If you have had a bad experience at this store I'm sorry that happened. My internet wouldn't stay connected no matter what I tried. My modem was also very very hot to the touch. Through the app I made an appt for this store for 10 am. About 945 I got a text telling me to check in, so I did. The store wasn't quite open yet and there were about 4 other people outside waiting. An employee opened the doors, greeted every single person and handed them to a different employee to take care of their needs. Chris I. was assigned to me. He was friendly, knowledgeable and fast. I told him my problem and he agreed it was probably my modem, considering it was 5 years old. He got me a new modem, gave me instructions, asked about my mobile service and gave me his card in case I had any trouble. I was out of there in less than 10 mins. This wasn't my first time to this store and the only thing negative that has ever happened prior is that I had a 30 min wait. My new modem worked and was easy to install. I'm very happy with Xfinity mobile and I really have no complaints about my internet, except for the cost which no one likes. read more

RIPPED OFF! Very disappointed! Today I initiated a promo ($24.99 / 50Mbps / no contract / sounds good) for internet service with a sales person by phone. I asked which modem I would get and she gave me the DPC3939, a dual band which switches between 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz automatically. When I picked up equipment at the Sandy Blvd. location, I was switched on the modem to the TC8305 which is 2.4 GHz only. I asked for the 3939 model but the sales person assured me that the 8305 model was even faster. When I got home, I looked up the specs on the 8305, which is only 2.4 GHz & slower. So, I was fed baloney so I am canceling activation and internet service. Fed up with Comcast--seems every time I talk with them, I never get the same answer / information from different agents. GET IT TOGETHER COMCAST! It is the last straw in a long series of issues with the service, mostly with cable sales. I am tired of mis-information from Comcast! PERIOD. I don't really want to give them 3 stars, and in some ways, maybe they should get 4. And I don't particularly like Comcast or their customer service, as a whole. But I am specifically reviewing the Service Center - the new one that it took me forever to find. And if I have to go talk to a representative,or pay my bill or to return your equipment this is not the worst place to wait, in fact, it's downright swanky. Carpeted, TVs (often playing shows I don't even hate), and the transaction takes no time at all. The wait differs from time to time, but folks are friendly since they don't have to wait a long time on their feet, and the help is helpful. This place is not helpful at all. The employees are liars. (at least the one who I talked to). Her name is Tera - the Sales&Service Consultant. I went in about two weeks ago and requested new services for my new home. It is a new building, therefore they need to check with their Tech department. I gave all the information the lady requested. She promised me she would submit my request and I should receive a phone call in a day or two. Two days later, I called her for an update. She said she just submitted the request 20 mins ago. She promised me she would call me once she gets an update from the Tech people. I believed her and waited for another week and never received any phone call. I tried to contact again yesterday but could not get in touch with her. So I called Xfinity this morning (855 number). It turned out Tera never submitted anything for me. She lied! The lady was very nice, she put my request in and apologized for Tera. It brought everything to another level. I don't think lying should be accepted at any company. Rude, unprofessional & straight up liars in this store. I recently moved back to Portland and needed the internet for my new place. My account was set up using old information (from an account back when I last lived in Portland.... like 4 years ago), I pointed this mistake out at the time of signing up for services and was told it would be updated but it took time to take effect. This seemed annoying but reasonable, so I went along with it. I also asked if a credit check would need to be ran and offered to pay a deposit (I'm in the middle of trying to buy property and have less than stellar credit so this is EXTREMELY important to me). The sales rep I was working with in the store said that no credit check or deposit would be necessary since I already had an account in the past..... That was all bullshit and I later found out that an unauthorized credit check was ran (using my information that was already on file). When I specifically asked about these things at the time of sign up I was assured that my name would be corrected/updated and no credit check would be required since I had an account in the past. WRONG. This was all a bold faced lie and I'm PISSED. I called customer service to clear things up and was instructed to return to the store with my identification so they could "update" my name and that's bullshit because I literally was in the store one week ago WITH THE SAME GOD DAMN ID I AM BEING ASKED TO PRESENT A SECOND TIME. Signing up for BULLSHIT ass internet service may have temporarily ruined my chances of qualifying for a mortgage and I can't even manage my account over the phone because they set up the account using the wrong name. The icing on the shit cake is that the entire time the sales rep was "helping me" he was playing a card game on his phone.... I brought my grandmother here to get a cell phone. We chose xfinity because she has them for her landline and cable and she felt comfortable. Trying to get a cell phone meant they require you to have internet, which she doesn't even know what it is, have an email, pay for a modem, pay for a phone, pay for internet, pay for service, set up an ap, set up a modem, and come back another day for the phone. she can barely use a remote.. are they Fucking joking. Not what I was expecting after reading the reviews! I had to pick up equipment from the store. I made previous arrangements by phone when I connected my service. Went in at about 11am and was greeted at the door and immediately directed to where I needed to wait. I only had to wait for about 15 min. But they had big screens to watch in the waiting area. I got my equipment and it was all organized in a tote and I was out. The clerk was super friendly and was fast. I was in and out in 30 min. visited the store to pick up my router/modem that i ordered online went during the covid - 19 pandemic - there were a ton of safety parameters in place (6 feet apart line, shields between the rep and the customer, employees all wearing masks) i was nervous about coming in due to the horrible reviews but the customer service was surprisingly great! Quite possibly the worst place ever--and that includes the DMV and my ex-girlfriend's parents' house. At least the DMV doesn't try to upsell you constantly or sneak extra "products" onto your service at every stage in the transaction. The Comcastronauts will insist (rudely) that 10 mpbs service is definitely too slow for streaming video but go ahead and call their bluff; I'm streaming in HD on HBO Go® as I type this. (The Netflix site says "5.0 Megabits per second - Recommended for HD quality.") Unlucky you, it's not like you have a choice to be here. You're at Comcast/Xfinity/NBC/Universal because Century Link is too expensive or required a contract or is unavailable in your area. And to attempt any phone business with Comcast/Xfinity/etc is even worse; for instance, not all the same service plans are available over the phone as in-store. So take a deep breath, be patient, be extra nice to everybody there (remember: nobody wants to be there) and then sigh in relief as you bolt through the doors on your way out. read more

All these types of stores are typically the worst. Customer service poor, long waits, not a lot of comfortable seating, and longer waits. This place was not an exception. I got there and had to wait 45 mins to be serviced. 45 mins is a long time to wait in one place for any type of service. It seems pointless and wasteful. There needs to be a better internet company that is customer forward. I got rid of my cable tv for this reason, now I have the same issue with internet because the internet companies merged with the cable companies. You can change a name but the service is still bottom tier. They need to work on pushing customers to the front of their priorities instead of a DMV type of relationship. It's unfortunate that the market demand for live broadcast and other non serialized content on tv is shrinking...choices for cable/ satellite are limited...and liken most cities you have DirecTV Dish and Comcast... I had been a DirecTV user for a number of years in Phoenix and then in Minneapolis..not particularly happy, but they did have the NFL ticket package being a long suffering Denver Broncos supporter. However my building in Portland only supported cable so I had no choice use it or go digital air antennae .. It's one of those non decisions. Until something brings it to your attention....I had contracted a preferred package along with internet . $99.00 seemed doable so I signed up and went on my merry way. My TV watching time is limited and when I do it's either using Smart TV functionality for movies or music or throwing on a football, soccer or hockey game on ...leaving It on silent. I received this months bill and literally it was twice the cost..I talked to a CS rep who reminded me that my " special incentives" had ended..I complained ..she then said she could not assist me and would forward me to the " loyalty department". What? The sad part was with some discussion they instantly reduced my rate...so..they increase your bill and hope you will just pay the difference My advice..if your Comcast bill increases complain and ask for the loyalty dept immediately....or stop watching TV all together.. Comcast is horrible. They brag about the fact that in spite of rising costs for basic cable, per channel price is actually down. That's brilliant! They offer duplicative, and often offensive channels (how many christian/shopping/dull sports networks are necessary)? In addition, you PAY to watch a minimum of 15 minutes of commercials. I really don't need 200-500 channels all offering reruns of CSI. If I had a monopoly on shoelaces, and I only charge fifty cents each, that's a pretty good deal in spite of a monopoly, right? Yes, but minimum order is 1000 pairs. Let me guess, all those lousy channels pay comcast to participate in their lousy packages, right? So why does comcast have to charge anything at all? How much disparity do you think there is for their executives vs. rank and file employees? Should we talk about customer service? What's to talk about? It's horrible. The packages are so extensive that it takes a ph.d in deceptive practices to figure out what it is they actually offer. How do I know if I hate them so much? The only time I sign up for comcast is every couple of years for the Olympics. In spite of the hundreds of channels for the last olympics, the coverage sucked, sports was a minor sideline to pap pieces of triumph over tragedy and annoying commercials for products I would never purchase. Not very impressed so far. I'm supposed to be able to get a discount on internet service by contacting one of the xfinity representatives through my apartment management group. I've called the rep 3 times in the past few days, leaving a message twice and still have not heard anything back. I would think that if a potential new client and sale calls in, you'd want to be on top of that. If they cant get back to me when I'm trying to give them my business, i don't want to find out what their customer service is with existing customers. Maybe the rep is on vacation...but then he should at least change his voice mail to inform his clients when they call in. I think that everyone has at least one horror story related to bad experiences with a cable provider. I'm no exception, and my recent experience that led me to this Comcast Service Center left a lot to be desired. That said, they do provide a quality service (albeit an expensive one) and in my experience have made an effort to remedy inevitable errors they have made. What I can say about this center in particular is that they are ridiculously busy and rarely have enough staff to cover the pressing needs of their clients. To their credit, I am impressed with how well those few employees keep their cool given that they are probably receiving an earful from unhappy customers from the time they start their shift until they go home. Be warned that you will likely wait at least a half hour for someone to see you. Additionally, they are closed on Sundays. This means that Mondays are typically busier because everyone who couldn't get in the day before will come in. At all costs avoid Mondays/evenings to have as pleasant an experience as possible. read more

I recently went in to pick up some hardware as I just set up xfinity. I was greeted by a man named Kevin Burrows who is a employee here. He grabbed my hardware and I asked about my modem which I will be using my own he told me I needed to bring in the modem to check the Mac number to make sure it will work before it can be set up. During my set up online and on the phone nobody at xfinity told me this. Granted not a big problem I'll just come back in with the modem at a later time. Kevin kindly offered for me to send him a email with the photo of my Mac Id and he would Input all info and call me after it was done. I just got off the phone with him and if he or anyone at this location see this. Thank you! you went above and beyond in a day and age people don't care.
