Request to look at the book menu for descriptions of everything as the overhead board just has what everything is called. Service is good, staff is friendly. Breakfast items are pretty standard. Cute, clean, friendly place that serves a variety of good foods. It doesn't always have to be amazing to still make a mark. I liked coming here, and am grateful to have seen a bunch of good reviews here as that helped get me in the door. If you happen to be in the area (which I happened to have been), it looks more industrial than anything else. That's cool, because even industrial folks gotta eat, too. There's an Armenian flavor here, which makes sense, given the neighborhood. I ordered the Persian Omelette as that seemed to be among the more unique and defining dishes here. (Organic eggs, sausage, tomatoes, and onions with toast. Served with hash browns or potatoes.) The omelette was hearty enough to help satisfy my mid-morning hunger. They're actually open from 7:30am- 9pm, so hats off for the long hours. Also, I'm a big fan of organic eggs, so was thrilled that that's what they serve. When I asked for their professional opinion between the hash browns and the potatoes, it was suggested I try the latter as they're more 'home-made.' While I appreciate that, these potatoes were simply boring as can be: Boiled new potatoes without much flavor. Next time, I'd try the hash browns. And, the toast, well...that too was uninteresting. Seemed like big ol' puffy white bread, not hot, and super basic jellies. Thankfully, the omelette was the star, and the star shone brightly. In fact, the whole cafe has a nice sheen to it. Looks and feels very new and clean - though I'm told they've been open a couple years now. Lastly, I did try the Armernian coffee, which is intense. Very much like a Turkish coffee, it's kind of fun. I was a little distracted by the coffee flavor, truth be told, by then little plastic mug. It's basically a shot glass made of plastic. Alas, I tasted a lot of plastic with my coffee. While they ladies were super busy, service is very quick, my food came out in less than 10 minutes. There are tons of breakfast options to choose from; The berry pancakes are delicious. I stopped in on Friday afternoon on my way to a weekend long dance seminar, my stomach was upset from the drive and I needed a healthy option to eat before dancing. The location was a little wonky to get into, but really only because my GPS is weird. Once I figured out where the entrance was, I was golden. Its clean and open inside, with polite service. I opted for the Cesar salad with grilled salmon. The salad was lightly dressed, and more dressing was brought out on the side. I really liked that touch: some places drown their salads with dressing, but this was perfect. The salmon was grilled to perfection and was delicious. Price wise, I feel like it was fair. $14ish dollars for a good sized salad with a very generous portion of salmon wasn't bad at all. I would absolutely eat here again when I'm in the area. read more

Super delicious! I was skeptical at first because the burrito looked kind of small but boy was I wrong! It was actually packed full!! The prices are super reasonable and the burrito itself is actually really filling. Unlike most places, the potatoes aren't overpowering and don't drown out the flavors. The potatoes were instead flavorful themselves and perfectly mixed with generous helpings of egg, cheese, and ham. The green sauce they give you is also super good! I'd say the ham one is a tiny bit better than the bacon one but both are delicious ! read more

Cooked to perfection! I started out with a Vanilla Almond Milk Latte and my son had the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Then proceeded with our XO Breakfast Special Over Easy Eggs with one bacon and one sausage. My son had the Scrambled Eggs with Sausage and Bacon. My friend had the beef bowl and said it was some of the best he's had, the meat tastes like filet he said. Their coffee is much better than most of the other places in Los Angeles. Be cafe because the food comes out of the kitchen super HOT temp(it took my meal a few minutes to cool off but my buddy braved the burn to get his beef. Simple, no frills kinda place. I was looking for a brunch spot and XO Cafe popped up as a nice place with a variety of choices. We were greeted by friendly faces upon arrival and were seated immediately. There were so many dishes to choose from, and I wanted the healthy frittata at first but the small BBQ chicken pizza seemed hard to pass up. We took our orders and the food took around 15-20 minutes, but the waitress notified us that the kitchen was busy so we were given a notice ahead of time which was nice. When the food came, the presentation was nice and everything looked so good. My pizza had a sesame seed crust which was a little odd, but it was delicious. I feel like there should have been more BBQ sauce and red onions instead of so many bell peppers though. Overall, XO Cafe is a place to check out! read more

I was one of three people parked in this strip mall when I pulled up to meet my friend for breakfast at 9 on a Saturday and there was only a single party there when we walked in. L checked her phone to make sure we had the right place because the photos do make it look less spare. There's only 7 or 8 plain plastic tables that either seat 2 or 4 and you order at the register according to the menu on the wall. I got the Pregnant Avocado and L asked for the All Green Frittata (still working on why they call it that - the sliced avocado was the only green on her plate). They don't post any descriptions on the menu so you got to read Yelp entries or ask about each item. You also need to be a little patient because I think there's only 3 people back there (Think the dining room is small? Oh, but, no.) taking orders, bussing, serving, keeping coffee topped, asking how things are and cooking like the wind. The dish I got was as great as advertised by others here. Fresh arugula dressed with oil, salt, pepper and parm, served with a whole peeled avocado and a poached egg in each half. Toss that all together and you have the best salad I've had in forever. No carbs and still filling? Wow. Such simple ingredients, too. Maybe that's why it was so delicious. There's been some speculation on why this place gets high ratings. I suck at making poached eggs and most of the few ingredients are expensive. This dish seems to be a draw for returning customers and XO is also the only place I can find that serves such a thing in a southern Californian sea of avocado toast worshippers. Verdict: This is a fresh and awesome twist on the only fruit you can actually live on! (Useless coworker fact #3) A large bunch of skinny, hungry bicyclists filed in about an hour and a half into our gab session so we left to free up tables. Parking lot was packed by then! I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want to share this place with anyone! It's a fairly new place but you can see it's starting to make a name for itself very quickly. They have something for everyone. Their chickens salad was to die for, it had everything imaginable; quinoa, avocado, beets, arugula and the list goes on! Where to start...my coworkers and I came here for lunch and it was our first time two of us got the pregnant avocados(amazing!!!!) and one of us got a detox salad and a wellness chicken salad. Everything was absolute delicious and the service was fantastic. Both of the girls were great. We were rushing cause we had a short lunch but they made sure to make everything perfect for us. I have been coming to XO since it opened a couple years ago! I love it here. Teni is the most hard working and dedicated Chef/owner I've met. Their food is delicious. I tend to always gravitate to the pregnant avocado for breakfast, and the wellness salad at lunch. Great pizza, wraps, and pancakes too! I eat in, take out, and order thru Postmates! For my birthday she brought me out a smiley face coffee, and a candlelit pancake :) her and the staff sang for me too!! So yummy, so sweet, great small business! I ordered the chicken pesto panini, which came with a choice of salad or fries. The plate arrived with fresh greens and a flavorful sandwich, neatly cut in half.
