I am most likely the customer Elizabeth H. is referring to below. This was during my 3rd trip for alterations to the SAME dress. This was not any ordinary dress, this was the traditional Chinese dress I was to wear for my wedding rehearsal dinner. When I first dropped off my dress for alterations, Spring was super nice and chatty with me and my friend. When I came to pick up the dress alone, not only was the fit off, there were two black marks on my dress which were not there before. I pointed it out to Spring and she suddenly turned nasty. She said that she pointed it out the last time and I said it was okay which is a complete LIE. My friend was with me during the first trip and at no time did we ever talk about marks on the dress because there were none when I dropped it off. She then quickly changed the subject and started talking about the alterations and at the end said she would have her husband take care of the marks. When I returned again to pick up the dress, this time with my friend. Not only was the dress still ill fitting, the marks were still there! I pointed it out again and she turned into a complete psycho! She insisted that we had talked about the marks when I dropped off the dress. My friend jumped in and said that was not true and she starting attacking my friend telling her to mind her own business and was completely obnoxious. And then Spring started back tracking by saying that maybe my hair was covering the marks so we didn't see it. Wait what? After I took off the dress, she seemed to have calmed down and told me she would spot clean it. On my now 4th trip there to pick up my dress, the fit was still not right. So I sat and waited while she altered it again. The larger black mark on the dress was gone but the smaller mark was still there. I was beyond exhausted of arguing with her and I really did not want to return to her shop so I just let it go. She finally got the alterations right and I left quickly to never return again! read more

I've been going to Xuan since 2004. She works miracles! ;) She has re-worked XL sweatpants for my son's team to fit him when he's really an "S", and his team shorts (for the same problem!) and has done excellent work on everything of mine I've brought her over the years. She's pretty quick at getting most things done, also. I've never had to wait more than 2 days for simple alterations. (I'm sure bigger things take longer.) She's also incrediby entertaining--she's a hoot! As for someone saying they don't take checks or credit, she DOES take credit/debit cards. There must have been a worker there that didn't know how to use the machine or something. (I can understand the "no check" thing unless someone is a regular customer.) I send everyone there who can't get what they want done elsewhere. If SHE can't fix it, no one can! Love me my Xuan!!!! read more

Came here to get my prom dress and 3 other dresses altered. When I came in to try on my prom dress after Xuan altered it, it was still kinda long. I had two black dresses that I wore the same heels with that were of different length. The last dress was okay. A few days later, I sprained my ankle and was put in a boot so I came in to ask her to re-alter my dress. She only temporarily altered it with glue, and she never said that we had to pay anything. A week later, I came back to pick up my dress (the day before prom) and she made the dress so short that the bottom of my boot was visible. I was very unhappy. My mother mentioned how if we are unsatisfied with her work, customers can come back within 30 days to get it fixed free of charge. But no. She charged us $25 for something that I could've done myself (she shortened the dress by gluing the bottom). My mother was extremely angry and Xuan turned into a psychotic lady. She treated my mother very rudely in front of a customer. I will never come back again. This review truly deserves 0 stars. read more

Do yourself a big favor and go anywhere else but here. I'm sorry, I'm very patient but this place is terrible. I went in Friday, and my two pairs of boots were not finished, nor was my leather jacket. I was literally just having everything shortened. SO SIMPLE. Anyway, I go in Friday and they forgot to do it and they tell me they forgot it at home....... ok. Annoying, but things happen. They say to come back Saturday... so on my way from Escondido, I call to make sure it's ready and ITS STILL NOT DONE. She says she'll call me back in 5 minutes because she's busy and there was a problem with my jacket. No call back, obviously.... and I showed up and she brought everything out to have me try on AGAIN. NOTHING WAS DONE. They tell me to come back in 15 minutes, I came back in 40. The jacket looks great. But the boots..... I couldn't done it myself. She literally just used double sided cloth tape.......... I couldn't cut the boots and done the same exact thing. $60 freakin dollars!!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE. I was speaking with the gentleman in front of me and he said it was his THIRD time back because they kept messing up on a freakin stuffed animal or something he was having sewn. So ridiculous. Unskilled, disorganized, LAZZZZYYYYY and unprofessional. Don't do it. Time and money I cannot get back. read more

I had to travel for work and wasn't able to get to a seamstress before I left home. I ended up bringing my $400 leather trench coat with me to Rancho Bernardo hoping to find someone competent to do the job. Xaun was right around the corner from my hotel so I decided to take a chance as time was running out. I had 3 days before I had to get back home and the job had to be done before I left. The very nice (and cute) lady, Spring, was extremely accommodating and understood my time crunch. She said she would have it done the day before I left. I don't like to post negative things, but I was quoted $20-25 for a zipper repair on a jacket and went to claim my jacket which now cost $28. When I looked closer at I the jacket the fabric had been torn. I called back to express my concern in a polite and respectful way and brought the jacket back to the store. I was accused of the tear in the fabric and then she made me feel responsible for repairing the fabric ("I charge $10 for that but you get for free"). I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for alterations. I even mentioned I would post on Yelp as I was pretty unsatisfied. read more

Xuan saved my life! I had purchased a bridesmaid dress and it had to be ordered through the store so I didn't get to try on my actual dress before it was ordered. When it arrived it was too small! With not much time left to get my dress altered before the wedding (3 days) I found Xuan and took my dress in expecting to hear that nothing could be done. Instead she quickly measured me and told me that she could do it. The dress was expected to be done 2 days after I took it in and she got it done even earlier and the dress fit to perfection. DON'T GO HERE! the owner is very very rude some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. I went in with MY TICKET and she told me that someone had already picked it up without a ticket! She gave my daughters jeans away. My daughter does not drive and no one in my family picked up the jeans. She told yes they did. She either lost them or gave them to someone. I understand mistakes happen you apologize and make good on your mistake. I have been going there for a long time, I will never go again. Save yourself I am telling you. BAD BUSINESS.
