It's been a while since I've been to Xulo and we wanted a quick breakfast for takeout plus coffee, so I figured Xulo was a good choice. I had an even better experience this time than previous times! We were greeted upon entering and he quickly took our orders while working on other drinks. I had a Cajeta latte and a croissant sausage breakfast sandwich. They packed up our meals nicely to go in a big handle bag and gave us plenty of utensils, napkins, and hot sauce. I was surprised when I opened up my box to find a round croissant bun - I love these! This sandwich was loaded with eggs and you can even choose your type of cheese. It has an aioli sauce in it which was delicious, way better improvement than the last time I ordered a burrito! The potatoes on the side were cooked perfectly with onions and peppers. I also ordered a bread pudding to go which they make with the leftover concha bread at the end of the day, super smart use of leftovers! It has chocolate chips and a caramel-like drizzle. It was so delicious and reminded me of my favorite bread pudding in SoCal. I was way more impressed this time around and I will definitely be back much sooner than it took me to come back this time. This place is super cute! First time here and it was bigger than expected. They have seating indoors and outdoors. Best chai latte I've had in a long time, so creamy and smooth. Xulo in Spanish means "cute" this is what one of the owners told us. They have yummy little Mexican cookies and it was heated up for us, I loved the cinnamon sugar one. Their menu of regular food looked great too. We will certainly be returning again. I visited a little after Christmas and they had the cutest decorations up (I wish I took a photo). Here you order at the counter first then you choose your seat. The cashier was helpful when I was unsure what to order and gave us recommendations - her favorites along with popular items amongst other customers. We ordered their: Dulce de leche latte (hot and cold): 5/5, it was really good without being super sweet Bacon breakfast burrito: 5/5, it was surprisingly stuffed with eggs and bacon along with a big side of potatoes Nutella banana waffle: 4/5, I personally would've liked less Nutella but that's an easy fix. I also like that they pre-cut the waffles, makes it so much easier for sharing! Concha (fruity pebble and churro): 1/5, unfortunately the concha was stale and hard. Came here with my cousin because we wanted to try a new local spot. This is a very cute coffee shop/cafe in Elk Grove. We tried the Mexican mocha, cajeta latte, and Dulce de leche latte. My favorite was the Dulce de leche latte. It was so tasty and not overalls sweet. Super cute inside, it's decorated very nicely, and was clean. Didn't take any pictures but will next time. I've been meaning to stop here for a while and finally had the chance. As soon as I saw there was a Cubano on the menu I knew my order. I stopped in for a late lunch thinking this would be a tiny cafe but I was surprised by the amount of seating. They have a couple outdoor tables as well as a row of tables in the back as well as booths towards the front. The staff member that helped me was really friendly and recommended trying the Tres Leches Latte iced, which was delicious. I ordered the Cubano with greens and took it to go. I saw on their Instagram that they sell the salad dressing escabeche in containers. After trying the plum vinaigrette on my salad I can understand why- it's so delicious! As I slowly find myself being less interested in Instagram (IG) one thing that I find it extremely useful for is discovering new businesses. While scrolling IG, I came across a friend's post of a delicious looking breakfast sandwich accompanied with potatoes and a coffee. This immediately intrigued me because I'm used to coffee shops solely focusing on providing coffee, while offering frozen food or pastries as "food" options. When a colleague/friend suggested that we meet up, I recommended Xulo Coffee Bar. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by an open floor plan that included padded seating at the front of the establishment and additional seating towards the rear of the building. Call me simple, but I loved the padded seating, it was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the typical hard wooden chairs/stools that decorate most coffee shops. When we were ready to order, we approached the front counter where an employee stood and waited for us to order. To my surprise I was shocked at the lack of greeting and enthusiasm that the employee displayed. To her credit, she may have been going through something that warranted this. I ordered the White mocha latte and sausage breakfast sandwich with potatoes. The White Mocha Latte was delicious and the perfect warm treat for a cold December morning. The sausage breakfast sandwich was delicious and made me forget that I was sitting in a coffee shop. My only regret is that I did not dissemble the sandwich and evenly distribute the delicious Chipotle spread (unfortunately a majority of the spread was on one side of the sandwich). Although the potatoes were a large portion (which I'm grateful for), they lacked flavor and crispiness. Overall, I was pleased with my order from Xulo Coffee Bar. I ordered the cubano sandwich and it was prepared quickly. It was a little lacking on the meat portion and could have been seasoned a little more but overall a good sandwich. My wife ordered a hot chai beverage, it didn't taste like a normal chai, it had a little bit of a coconut taste to it which wasn't a bad thing. Honestly so disappointing. This place is all aesthetic--everything looked pretty but tasted bad. I got the greens smoothie and it had a terrible taste and texture, the after-taste of it followed me throughout the day so that was even worse. Bread pudding had raisins in it (I wish they had that noted somewhere on the menu... I hate raisins on my pastries) and specks of a random green color throughout the bread pudding. It was also too hard and thick, just bad texture overall. It had a terrible taste to it. Not very custard-y like I'd expect. Such a let down as I normally love bread pudding anywhere I go. This place was bad. Yikes. The only positive thing I'd say about the my experience at Xulo is that the customer service was excellent. The gentleman at the counter was a one-man show as a barista, cashier, server, and busser all in one. He seemed to be very on-top of things. Very welcoming and kind. This is about my 6th time coming to Xulo. The staff is always super friendly and the vibes of the place are very fun and cozy. I always stick with a classic Iced Mocha (which is so yummy), and have tried a few of the foods as well. The avocado toast is PHENOMENAL- comes with a side of potato (or salad i think), and I ate it up. The banana nutella waffles are also soooo delicious and so sweet (how i like it)! I also tried one of the tortugas which i have never had before, and I really liked it. The cinnamon roll and smoothies i would also get again. Okay so I'm from out of town and I was bringing my grandmother up to see her brother for the day and we wanted to stop for breakfast. I just happened to get off the exit here and was looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled across this coffee bar. We weren't sure what to do, but the gentleman upfront told us that we could just order at the register. He was kind enough to read off some of the menu items to my grandmother, I ordered French toast with eggs and bacon and she ordered banana strawberry waffle with eggs and ham. Honestly, I was a little skeptical just because it's not the typical menu you would order when you want to sit down at a restaurant, but it was the best French toast I've ever had, the butter they used was killer and the syrup combo just made the entire plate taste incredible! There was about four booths and 12 very small tables for quick bites and coffee. There was a cute little backdrop with LED wings to take a cute selfie if you're into that.
