Based on my experience, I really enjoyed this place. After entering the door, I was immediately greeted by the kind person behind the counter. They patiently waited as I was making a last minute decision, and I ended up with the Mexican Mocha. The drink was really enjoyable. Coffee flavor came out, and accents of the chocolate bar and cinnamon were really nice complementary flavors to the drink. From the beginning sip to the last, I really liked it. Immediately after finishing it, I wished I had another. The space itself was nice. There was more space than I anticipated when first viewing it from the outside. There were a number of tables and chairs, and there was WiFi. I didn't stay long to use it, but it's there for those that like to get their work or study grind on in coffee shops. The place was really clean when I was there, and I appreciated the relaxed and quiet ambiance there was. Some coffee shops blast music really loud, but that wasn't the case here. They had pan dulce available and shown at the front, with the cute conchas ready in different varieties. I didn't try any food or pastries, but if it was anything like the Mexican Mocha I got, I need to go back and try. The shop is located in a shopping plaza that's routinely busy with other shops and eateries. Not a fan... Maybe this place has an adorable aesthetic but we ordered delivery and didn't experience the charm that may have inflated these reviews. We can only rate the food we ordered. 1. The food did not match the description. The pancakes are described as "fluffy pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, a dollop of whipped butter, and a dusting of powdered sugar." What we received was far from fluffy and it wasn't topped with blueberries or powdered sugar. Instead it was topped with slimy bananas. There are a handful of foods that I absolutely HATE and one of them is bananas. I smelled it immediately when I opened my bag. Suggestion to restaurant: if you are going to substitute something without warning PUT IT ON THE SIDE. Bananas are one of those gross foods that seep into everything it touches. The flavor overpowers everything for me. 2. Not great flavors nor cooked well, especially for the prices. Our potatoes were undercooked and on the hard side. I'm saving them to pop in a pan for tomorrow because we can't eat them as is. They also lack flavor as did the pancakes. Nothing we ate was that enjoyable. All in all zero stars for our food. The only thing that was decent was my iced white chocolate mocha. This is the only item that even slightly elevated the score but this wouldn't be my first choice to get a coffee drink the next time around. First time trying their coffee here and it didn't disappoint. Coffee runs in my veins so I know if it's a good one. Lol I like mine sweet too. The sandwich was a good size, but a little plain. I added hot sauce and ketchup. - Turtle concha (coconut). I got this for my son who loves turtles and coconut, but he was thrown off by the color. Yum, this coffee shop was awesome! My friend and I came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded and we were able to snag the booth by the green wall. The green wall is very cute for photo ops. You order and pay at the register, and prices were reasonable. I got the iced Mexican mocha and it was really good! I used to always get a Mexican mocha at another mom and pop shop that was close to where I previously worked in downtown. I thought no one could top theirs, but this one at Xulo's was just as good, if not slightly better! Loved it. I also ordered the bacon breakfast sandwich with a croissant bun and it was perfection. Huge fluffy egg, perfectly cooked bacon, and just the right amount of cheese. The side of potatoes were good and filling too. My friend chose the side salad instead, and it was amazing! It had a sweet and spicy type of dressing which complimented the arugula perfectly. The salad was a huge portion too, it covered half of the plate. I normally love potatoes but I'm going to get the side salad next time, that's how good it was. :) Service was fast. I had my eyes on this cafe when I stopped by another shop in the same plaza and noticed a 'coming soon' sign. This was back in December, it's now January and it's here! Stopped by early on a Saturday morning, they had just opened and there was me as well as another couple with their dogs. My order was a hot dulce de leche latte with oat milk and a blueberry muffin. My drink was 120% sweet. It was way too sweet for me and I didn't like it. Ended up tossing half away because I couldn't stomach that much sweetness for my morning coffee. I could hardly taste the coffee in it and was really bummed that I ended up tossing half away. I had a busy day of moving and usually 1 cup of coffee is good for the whole day. I didn't like the blueberry muffin because it was so dry. Unfortunately, ended up tossing that one the next day. I've had better. I think I ordered wrong and will come back to try their mochas instead. They have a cute display case filled with conchas and turtle conchas. I did notice that they also serve breakfast items and avocado toast with actual chile peppers! Yum! Looking forward to trying their menu items out. My first time trying was a miss but I'm willing to come back to try other things. I did read the other reviews that mentioned the dulce de leche latte being sweet, but I seemed to have underestimated HOW sweet it can be. Also, dogs... There wasn't a sign up that stated service animals or animals welcomed but having your own pet sit with you in the booth and eating with you as well as knowing other customers will likely sit in the same booth later was a little concerning. The dogs were leashed and I do like they were friendly. I did ask the pet owners if I could pet their dogs since they seemed so happy and friendly. They probably smelled all my other dogs on me. Space wise, plenty of seating. Mix of booths, tables, and outdoor seating. There's a nice green faux grass backdrop for photo ops. I would like it if the menu font wasn't a bright pink/magenta color. It is a little hard to read but that is just me. Likely that is part of the theme that they were going for but from a customer perspective, difficult to read unless you stand at the register and hold up the line. read more

The decor is minimal here but the music choice here and noise level was very chill, not too loud where you can't hear people, low enough so its not so awkward. It was a laid-back environment, with customers sitting outside with their pet companions. I got the Mexican mocha hot and it was like a hot chocolate with hits of cinnamon and the dulce de latte was good, probably need to add more shots of espresso next time. Which threw me off as customer service is huge! I got a drink called "Cajeta" - The way it was described was a Carmel latte but Mexican style? It consist of 4 pumps but I asked for 2.5 pumps to reduce the sugar! I got it with almond milk, it's good. There are a lot of good options for food, did not get a chance to try but I will go back one more time to check out the food and give the service a second shot. Now on to the food! The coffee was good (I'm pretty sure haha); I drank and finished it really fast without any thoughts. Though I will say, the coffee was more to my liking than the food. I got a breakfast burrito with bacon after entering and being encompassed by a bacon smell. But sadly, there was little bacon in the burrito and the overall dish was dry and not seasoned enough. The potatoes as well, they both tasted like it was only salt&peppered. I also did not finish it because if you're not eating it fast while fresh, the dryness intensifies. My friend got the ham torta and said about the same thing with the lack of seasoning. The ham and veggies looked really fresh and were of good quality, but not enough to hold flavor leading my friend to conclude it was plain. We both liked the chips because they were topped with lime! Xulo had been on my radar for awhile now and I finally got the chance to give it a shot. Although located in a fairly busy shopping center, parking wasn't too bad. Inside was small and narrow but still offered plenty of seating. They also had a small area out front with seating to enjoy your meal outside should you choose. We ordered 1 chai beverage, 1 cubano sandwich, 3 sausage breakfast burritos and 1 bacon breakfast burrito, total cost was about $75. At first I thought yikes, but once we got the food home and I saw the portions, i realized the price wasn't that bad. The Chai was good but had a slight coconut taste. I still enjoyed it though. My husbands cubano looked delicious and it came with greens and a vinaigrette dressing. He did say he wished it had a little more meat and seasoning. The burritos were nice and thick. I liked that it had lots of cheese. I do wish they offered sour cream and salsa. I did find it odd there was no salsa for the burritos. I thought that was a pretty common breakfast burrito staple, but to each their own I guess. It also said the burritos had a chipotle spread, but that flavor profile never came through in any of my bites. The side portion of potatoes was large as well. I love that they had sautéed onion and bell peppers in them for some added color, crunch and flavor. Overall this is a pretty decent little cafe/coffee spot.
