The BEST Baba ghanouj around! I love this restaurant. It's family-owned buy a wonderful, local family who clearly cares about the food they're serving. The hummus is delicious, as are the gyros. I don't think it's the easiest restaurant to spot because it's tucked back behind Sonic, in a small little shopping strip, but do yourself a favor and go there. Seriously delicious food made with care in a family owned restaurant. It may be the very best hummus I have ever had. The chicken curry my daughter had was delicious. I had the chicken shawarma and it was flavorful, tender, and the portion was enough for at least two people. The pita was fresh and hot when it came to the table. We really enjoyed Yafa Cafe. Very courteous service, nice sized plates of fresh Mediterranean dishes. We had the seak kebabs, gyro sandwich, Yafa combo and steak and lamb plate. My husband and I get the chicken Sharma plate with the lentil soup and a side of hummus and pita almost every other week. It's SOOOOOO GOOD! I highly recommend it if you want food that'll make you do a little happy dance when you take a bite. Their prices are fair with how generous their portions are and the longest we've had to wait when calling in an order is 25 mins, which really isn't bad at all especially because you can tell it's made fresh. 10/10 highly recommend read more

The first time I ate in the restaurant I ordered the Yafa chicken platter. It was delicious and generous portions. The only bad thing was the service. It was slow to serve and the waitress wasn't very service oriented. The second time I ordered to go the same platter and it was as delicious as the first one. I'm sticking to takeout! read more

Because of the social distancing issues my family just recently ordered take out dinners from Yafa Cafe. They were just FANTASTIC. We ordered lamb and chicken kabob dinners. They were served warm, fresh, healthy and absolutely delicious. We all agreed and we could not believe we could get that amount of fresh food for $10. Even if you don't care for middle eastern food the chicken kabobs (and fantastic rice) would be very pleasing to any American appetite. I could not cook this healthy dinner at home for this price. We did pick up, of course,and restaurant was very clean. I try to eat healthy and fresh this place is my new favorite. Best deal in Johnson Co. read more

We have ordered carry out for Yafa's multiple times and have always had a fantastic experience! We typically get the chicken shawarma sandwich or plate and it is always delicious. We've also gotten the hummus and it tastes great, and even in the to-go containers, they make it look beautiful! I also love that they wrap to go items up in foil so the food stays as hot as possible. Very friendly when we go in to pick up as well :) read more

So my fiancé and I stopped in yesterday. There were 2 tables already seated (one waiting to pay). The young girl waiting tables was in the middle of cleaning up. So we had to stand there waiting while she finished up, then she told us to just sit anywhere. We then waited while she cashed out the customer waiting to pay before we even got menus. So we finally get to order a good 10 minutes later - our drinks and our meals together. 30 minutes after we arrived, the meals came out for the other seated table. But this young girl could only carry. one. plate. at. a. time. And she brought their glasses of water. the. same. way. THEN our salads came out. I had ordered the gyro plate that is supposed to come with rice. My fiancé ordered chicken curry that was also supposed to come with rice. However we both got couscous instead. An older woman came out of the kitchen and told the young girl to refill my fiancé's tea. Then she came out a little while later and filled it again. I was greatly disappointed in my meal. The gyro meat was evidently left on the grill too long as it almost tasted burnt, it was not soft meat at all and was covered in lettuce and Tzatziki sauce. Needless to say we're used to going to Holyland for this type of food that is cooked correctly and they give generous portions. The free baclava they gave us for giving us couscous instead of rice (without asking if this was ok) will not bring us back. read more

We came here last night for take out, the food was really good! Everything was very fresh and hot, and it was ready when we got there. There was music playing and the restaurant was very cute and clean! The service was just okay, the girl ringing us up was young so maybe that was why, but she really didn't go out of her way to be friendly at all. My friend and I had dinner at this restaurant last night. Let me tell you- this is one of the best meals that I have had in Overland Park. The falafel was absolutely amazing.
