Sitting on the outer corner of a strip mall at College Blvd and Quivira, this place shouldn't be overlooked. While set up for takeout, there is plenty of seating for dine-in. Food, which is delicious and served in ample portions, is ordered at the counter, then delivered to your table. I ordered the gyro, which was comparable to any I've eaten in the area. I also ordered the dolmades, but was not as impressed, having had better elsewhere. The Greek Village salad was a surprise. Consisting of large slices of cucumber, tomato, onion, a plethora of olives and a considerable amount of feta. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this restaurant and plan to return. read more

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time and I was impressed. I got the special chicken plate (essentially a salad topped with gyro chicken). It was yummy. My brother got the gyro special plate and we also got a combo plate to share. The tiropita was deeeelicious. The service was nice too. Not a fancy restaurant by any means, more a hike in the wall, but those are sometimes the best places. I'll go again for sure. I'm excited to try their dessert sometime read more

I cannot believe I have not reviewed this place before?!?! Maybe it is on an old now defunct account. Anyway... I have been eating here for YEARS... so that should tell you something right out of the gate. I tend to run by and grab lunch every month or so... what do I get... well I would love to tell you how it varies with their specials or the season. It does not. This place I am a creature of habit. The Gyro and Fries. Pretty much every time! But, it is so good... and why mess with a good thing! Other things to rave about... The service is super fast! And always polite. Big fan of family-owned/operated anyway so happy to rave about them. The prices are a little lower than I think they should be probably because of that family that is making what they need to and wants to keep their long-term customers not only satisfied but happy. The booths are comfy and clean. Though probably a little out of date in fashion but this is not that kind of a restaurant! So if you have made it this far laughing through my review... then go try this place. My recommendation is to do so at lunchtime if you are in the area. A friend recommended Greek Cuisine for a really good gyro. Boy, were they right. First, the place is not very large. You walk in an order from a counter person. Than you can eat their or get your order to go. If you decide to eat there, which we did, the booth were very comfortable. Everything is very clean. It is very casual. On to the gyro. Really love home they serve it. I am used to a gyro where is is prepared, on a pita, more cone shape. So, the first couple of bites tend to be mostly pita. Not here. They have the pita molded more like a bun. It is than filled with onion, tomatoes and gyro meat. The amount of meat is consistent from end to end, which makes for a lot of meat. The meat was very good. The tzatziki sauce is served on the side, which I preferred. This way I could put as much or as little sauce on the gyro as I want. Also, it is easy to add more sauce as you eat. And all this was just $8 - what a buy for a really good gyro. We will be back. Meant to include a picture, but didn't think of it until it was almost all gone. If you are in the mood for a gyro, than you should definitely give this place a try. However, be aware they close at 3:00 on Saturday and are closed on Sunday's. read more

Well, this is embarrassing. We've lived around the corner from Greek Cuisine for no less than eight years, yet, we just now finally popped in for supper! Commence with egg on face. The food here is awesome! Wifey and I ordered enough to kill a horse, wanting to try a little bit of (almost) everything! ZERO regrets on that, though, as everything was very, very good! All the greek favorites are here, and everything was fresh and awesome! We admitted to the lovely lady working the counter that it was our first visit, and she was tremendously helpful with assisting in our selections! She even talked us into a couple extra things (see aforementioned note on over-ordering!), and the recommendations were perfect! We chose to eat on-premise, which was a clean, if a bit sparse, dining room. We were the only patrons to dine in that evening, but the counter was NON-STOP with to-go traffic and order pickup. I'd guess that no less than 20 folks ordered while we ate (and moaned for a few minutes after finishing) on site over a 30 minute span! That said, if you are really into the "festive" side of eating in a Greek restaurant, such as at one of our other favorites in town (rhymes with "masso's"), you may be a bit let-down with the straight forward approach here. We paid $40 (which included a $6 tip) to eat here. Order 3 items: a gyro platter, gyro with rice, and hummous. The gyro was flavorful (maybe the meat was a little dry), rice was good (for rice), and the tzatziki sauce was very good. The gyro and rice dish, had only meat and rice (no veggies), and the gyro platter had meat tomatoes and also came with pita bread. The hummous was very good, but came with pita that was over toasted and dry. Overall the food was fine. But what was annoying is that we paid $40 and got served on cheap paper plates and had to use plastic silver wear. It was like eating street food in a strange sitting area, not like eating in a restaurant. For this, we don't want to pay $40. If we come back here, it will be for the hummous and tzatziki sauce, it will be for take out, and we probably won't tip the typical 20% since this is not really a "dine in" kind of place. read more

When I arrived, I had to wait a long time while a group in front of me decided what to order and how to split their bill. After I got up to the counter, my order was not ready yet and I had to wait for it to come out. The food itself was good and the portion sizes were generous. The food was an insult to real Greek 'cuisine'. We ordered gyros pita sandwiches, which most of the menu was based on. The beef / lamb version was dry and tasteless, not even real 'gyros' meat. The chicken version wasn't even from just a chicken, it was processed and pressed together into 'shavings' with other unidentifiable ingredients. Gross. The tasteless pita was filled otherwise with shredded iceberg lettuce and a few barely there tomato and onion slices. The only other thing that gave any sort of flavour was the tzatziki, which was not real either. Couldn't even eat up the whole pita sandwich, sooo gross! We were four people, where three ordered iced tea an one ordered Sprite, which had a strong chlorine taste. I felt like I was going to throw up on the way home. Never going back! Be warned! Service. Two nice enough guys, one who took the order and one in the kitchen. who were definitely not of Greek heritage. Ambience. This is one of my favorite local Greek spots in the metro! Affordable, delicious, convenient location and an abundance of options on the menu. I didn't know that chicken gyros were ever an option until I came here, haha. It tastes just as delicious, if not more, than the beef / goat version. They offer lunch specials for $8, and it's been filling every time I've ordered it. Dinner is just as affordable, as I've had their larger dinner meals for around $15. They're conveniently located on the corner of College and Quivira, and service has always been quick. There's seating inside (socially distanced at the moment), but none outdoors. This is a quaint little hole in the wall that offers amazing Mediterranean cuisine. I love the places that are seemingly underwhelming in decor inside and out but offer memorable food. It speaks volumes to me, when a memory is created by service and the food and that's what I will take away from this location. I came in for lunch with a coworker and got our order at the counter in quickly. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and ready to be picked up at the counter. The presentation was great and the flavors even better!! I love Taziki sauce and it didn't disappoint here as it complimented everything on my plate rather well. The sandwich had a generous amount of tasty, seasoned chicken meat and fresh veggies on good pita bread, but the side salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, and the tzatziki sauce was just okay. I love Greek food. I love it so much it is difficult to distinguish good from not-so-good Greek food. I mean...it's all Greek to me, right? Don't worry- Greek Cuisine is VERY good Greek food and I am not the only one who believes the same. This place has been in the same location for over a decade. I work across the street and I remember driving to the job interview and seeing Greek Cuisine. That became the main reason I wanted the job. LOL. It did not take me long to meander over the GC for a taste. The food here is fresh. Very fresh. it is also authentic. They also do not have a clue as to what is a reasonable amount of food. They pile the food on your plate. You end up with a plate of fresh, delicious, authentic Greek fare. It could not be any better. They also have the whole gamut of traditional dishes. This place is lacking nothing. The only thing I do not particularly enjoy is their hummus. It is rather hot with spice. I am not a spice girl (ha) and do not really care for hot spicy taste. If I could order a milder version, I would be in Greek heaven. The hummus is fresh and fluffy, though. Just wish they would tone down the fire. Before you go, please know this is not a fancy pants restaurant. It is very bare bones and homey. You will not see any elaborate decor and that is fine with me. I am not there for the decor. I am there for the delicious food. The prices are reasonable and you get tons of food, too. The staff is pleasant. They are not overly cloying but very pleasant. Sometimes I get nervous stopping at places in the mid-afternoon because you can get left over lunch items that are not so fresh or poor service because people are trying to get ready for dinner. Greek Cuisine was neither! I am a fan of domaldes, but a lot of places serve canned domaldes. The domaldes here are definitely made fresh. They are nice sized and delicious. A touch more spice would make them perfect. I am also a big fan of Beef Souvlaki. Most people go for the Gyro, but the Beef Souvlaki is what gets me. Theirs is spiced perfectly and comes with a generous amount on the pita. It is not over whelmed with other fixings. My meat was actually falling out of the pita there was such a nice portion. The tzatiziki sauce was nice and fresh, I love the cool flavor it brings to a Greek meal and they prepare a nice one here. The Galaktobouriko is fantastic. I am a huge custard fan and grew up with a grandma that fixed custard pies. This custard took me back to that, but with the twist of the phyllo dough and honey to make it perfect. The service was great. The man working was extremely friendly. I would bet he owns the place and takes pride in the business and service. He certainly made me feel welcomed like I was family. My only complaint is that they close at 8 through the week and 2:30 on Saturdays (closed Sundays.) I have wanted to stop by a few times previously, but the early close time has prevented that. read more
