Like someone else mentioned, the value proposition here is off. Chicken is indeed a bit dry and nothing special. Sides aren't anything interesting. And getting a bowl and a drink with tax and tip you're almost $20+ for a basic lunch. The service, however, is very good and the folks are kind and helpful. But to be honest, Mediterranean food in this area has a TON of competition. I can name 6-7 right off the top of my head and 2-3 that give you more value and satisfaction for your money. 5 stars for Yafa Hummus in Livermore. We have been their avid fans for over a year now. That's why when we planned to celebrate my hubby's birthday earlier this month, we decided to order appetizers from here. We met Eric, the manager, and he was super helpful and made the selection and ordering process so pleasant. We loved the pita chips and Eric said that he would be able to give us those chips for the party. When we called to make sure the food was ready, they told us not to worry and that everything would be ready on time. When we went to pick up, everything was ready to go, At the event, everyone loved the food. The pita chips, different types of hummus, sauces, the crispy fresh falafel balls were out of the world! The guests loved the food and we told everyone that the food was catered from Yafa Hummus in Livermore. Once again a HUGE Rave for Yafa Hummus and for Eric! I live down the street from this place and never really gave it any thought. Then my brother said whoa you have a Yaffa right there!? And I was like yea why??? He said it was hella good and they order from them all the time. So I had a craving for gyros. And decided to try them out. Omg! Sooooo yummy!!! And the garlic sauce mmmmmmmmmmm. This business just opened up for the first day yesterday and I have to say we were very impressed! The staff and owner were all super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and appreciative . The food was delicious and fresh! I had a chicken pita wrap and my fiancé had the gyro pita and the meats on both were juicy, perfect temperature, very well seasoned, and delicious! We also had a side of pita bread with hummus and tzaiki and the dips were great and well flavored and the pitas were warm and soft for the perfect taste and texture. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially if you like Greek and Mediterranean food as this was some the best I have had in awhile and the service was exceptional! Wow! Although we love all our local restaurants, we've been in a take out rut recently. After hearing some really great reviews online we decided to try Yafa and were blown away. We had the bowl with Greek salad, chicken, and gyro meat, along with the back home style and baklava for dessert. And we can't forget the fresh warm pita bread dipped in the spicy hummus- so amazing. Everything was fresh, delicious, and a lot of food for the price. Not to mention the staff was super friendly and helpful. I went to the soft opening on Feb 2. Love the food and love the concept I got a bowl and filled it with my favorites. I got Greek salad base topped with gyro meat with sides of Baba ghanouj and hummus. Everything was so tasty and it was fast even though they were barely open. Satisfying, quick Mediterranean food option. I appreciate that the folks who work here are just trying to provide solid food and excellent service. Some of the crew are on the younger side, and perhaps just eager to please. I think they really want to get business off to a good start being relatively new. I notice they're not the most efficient, but they try hard and I'm sure that will improve over time. They greet and thank every customer maybe an excessive amount, but again, I can appreciate that. I ordered the chicken shawarma upon arrival and only had to wait about 5mins for them to make it. The chicken was flavored well, and the veggies in the wrap were fresh, but I think there was something missing, such as tzatziki. I would consider the portion size sufficient, but not generous. My family and I love falafel and we are so happy to have found a place that is vegan-conscious. We have visited three times in the last month and a half and we have ordered the falafel plate with vegan tahini. This last time I selected salad and spicy hummus as my sides with a base of white rice. Everything is served fresh and very delicious. I'm also glad they have hot sauce because I enjoy spicy food. On top of this, the customer service is outstanding. We have visited the Livermore location twice and the Dublin location once. Each time the service has been friendly, helpful, and considerate. We drive there from Alameda simply because they are considerate of the vegan diet, and I am not sure how other Mediterranean restaurants nearby cater to vegans. When you need a break from vegan restaurants that serve lots of soy vegan "meat" this is the place to go. The food is much lighter and healthier tasting. read more

Ordered online and picked up an order of 8 items on Valentine's Day. They missed one kids order and some others were missing rice, hummus. This, despite going there on time that the website showed for pickup + 45min extra wait time. While there, I got into a conversation inquiring about the name of the place. There are 3 cities named Yaffa / Yafa in the Middle East but the person at the counter had no clue about the big story they've put up on the wall. Didn't bother to open or count the orders and found out about the missing items at our friend's place in Pleasanton (far enough that didn't make sense to drive back). Called them and the person apologized saying that they will send a gift card in the mail rather than refunding. Didn't receive anything (it's been over a month). Sounds like in the rush to open new locations, folks don't know what they represent or any sense of customer service. Will take my business to more deserving mom 'n pop places in town. read more

Love this place! We like the bowl options. We have also tried the wraps and those are good too. Great for a quick meal and often yields leftovers, which is nice! They do need to work on logistics a bit - my husband picked up the food (I had called in and ordered but hadn't paid) and they didn't charge him, so he left assuming I had paid. After calling me to verify, he went back in to tell them we hadn't actually paid yet. Our friends had the same thing happen to them at the Dublin location. read more
