First time trying Yafa Hummus in this location. I usually eat at the Tracy location. I went with a couple of my co workers after our shift. Say to say I will not be going to this Location as often and will most likely go to the Tracy or Dublin location. The service was not welcoming at all. When all my co workers came in, we were not greeted into the store and the employee taking our order seem like he did not want us to inside the restaurant. He looked mad and was very rude. The atmosphere was not pleasant. I asked the employee how he was doing and he did not reply or anything and I just had to order. The ambiance was okay, we were the only ones in the restaurant and the tables were not clean, they were dirt and like sauce left over on the table. The food was still very good and would order it again. All my colleagues ordered the build your own bowls and it was very delicious. I am giving this location a 3/5 stars based off how bad the customer service was. I did not feel welcomed and the staff member was not very welcoming to me and my coworkers. Any how the food still came out very delicious and hot. If the customer service was better I would have gave this restaurant a 4/5 star review.

We ordered the Chicken Shawarma bowl and the Falafel supreme. Both were ok . Nothing to standout . The staff was friendly and ready to assist anything we wanted. Since it was around 10 am, they were open but the place was desolate and we did not see anyone come in for the new b'fast items they were serving. But place looked clean and with ample seatings inside with gender neutral restroom at the end of the establishment.

As someone who has eaten Middle Eastern food my entire life thus far, AH, can tell you that I have become quite picky about my falafels, my hummus, the spices, the bread, the sauces, the freshness of the produce, etc. etc. I can also tell you that walking into this restaurant, I immediately started to get so hungry, which really doesn't ever happen, as lately the M.E spots I've tried have been good, but not as DROOL WORTHY! and the longer I waited to eat the more it was driving me crazy lol Honestly, the scent in the air was so wonderful. You could smell the sumac, the parsley, the herbs and spices in the air. ( Here's a little secret that I've learned from knowing a lot of restaurant owners and their practices- too many restaurants do not use real spices and herbs. They just use food coloring and cheap oils. too many restaurants tell me that they would not eat the food that they serve to others in their restaurants! ) that is not the case here This is real food. This is the real deal.MA. I appreciate the vegan tzatziki, the lentil Soup, spicy hummus, salad, the best falafels If my family didn't finish everything so fast I could've probably tried more food lol! The owner of this location is some sort of angel. I am telling you the amount of unselfish giving he does to the community is unparalleled! My reviews are always honest and cruelty free. Yafa in Livermore is the spot!

I didn't even know this restaurant existed until today. I came here with my wife to try it out and was immediately greeted by a young gentleman who promptly took our order. The prices are reasonable and everything smelled good. My wife and I ordered the gyro pita. I asked for grilled onions in mine and she ordered hers without onions. The food came out quickly and was freshly prepared. The pita was perfectly grilled and there was plenty of delicious meat inside. Looking back, I probably should have skipped out on the onions, but it was worth the try. I would probably ask for more tomato and cucumbers if I ordered this again. Next time, I'm excited to try their chicken shawarma wrap. The lavash bread looks amazing and I can't wait to try it. The restaurant is clean and attractive and I will definitely come back here again. My wife ordered the Turkish delight (mango and pistachio) and loved how fruity it was. Try this restaurant if you're in the area - great fast casual Mediterranean food at reasonable prices!

Nice staff and good food! Really enjoyed the shawarma fries; the fries themselves were a tiny bit too dry, but edible. The spicy sauce was amazing! Very delicious. They went perfectly well with the pickles and grilled onions. Very good flavor combination overall and the chicken was a nice protein option (a little overcooked though). The gyro pita was not my favorite; the tomatoes were sliced in a way that was hard to eat with the entire pita (maybe needs to be cut into wedges?). The tzatziki was good but unfortunately was only in one half of the pita. The beef was pretty salty in my opinion. The raw onions were thick and not super pleasant to eat. On the flip side, the falafel deluxe was good. The wrap was tasty and the fillings were quite flavorful. It was a good portion of food!

Food was fresh. Service was friendly. I got a bowl with half gyro/half falafel. Their falafel here were fire. I've had them before at their Tracy location but the ones here hit different. They tasted fresher and crispier on the outside. At their Tracy location, they just call out your name when your food is ready. So, we were really surprised to see that they brought out our food to our table like it was a restaurant. That was so nice b/c we would've gone to get it ourselves. Same when we were done w/our food, we couldn't find the trash bin. So we asked the guy where the bin was and he said it was fine and to just leave the trays on the table, he'd take care of it. SO NICE! b/c he easily could've said, "it's over there" and pointed to it. Really delicious food and excellent service.

The service there is always exceptional and the store is clean. I ordered the shwarma fries and they were delicious! I didn't add pickles, but the sauce and the chicken with the fries is a delicious combination! They are quick with the orders and really friendly!

The food & service here is top notch. I go here a lot more than I review but it's time to update. Tonight it was take out. The bowls are great with plenty of fulfilling options. Food that is supposed to be hot is hot in temperature. Bowls come with warm pita and the hummus is creamy & tasty. The staff is very friendly & they especially welcome those customers that return over & over again. I forgot to take pictures as I was hungry. Next time I will tempt you more. Btw the lentil soup is a must have.

Yafa Hummus gets five stars in my book. Went here recently with my beloved. She got the falafel wrap. I got the falafel bowl with brown rice, falafel, amazing hummus, salad etc. The falafel wrap is made with daily made falafel mix served on lavash with hummus, spring mix, tomatoes, pickles and tahini sauce. Bowl is choose a couple items aka hummus, protein aka falafel two sides and went to dress it up with vegan tahini. I spent six weeks backpacking in the Middle East and love the Bay Area has so many great ethnic spots that are authentic with good veg options. We both loved it! Everything was fresh, affordable, tasty, vegan, and friendly service to boot so what's not to like. Five stars and we will definitely come back here.

Shout out to Patrick and Brandon for personalizing the guest experience and providing great service. We read the reviews and the food sounded amazing! Little did we know how much we would enjoy our time here. Brandon helped us to order the most tasty dishes. We chose our protein: 1/2 chicken and 1/2 beef, hummus, brown rice, Greek salad and taziki. It was a party in the mouth and so filling we couldn't finish our bowls. We also got to sample the falafel by checking in on Yelp. And if that wasn't enough...we finished off with dessert, a soft serve bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with baklava. Everything was delicious and the service we received was excellent!

Hummmmm-us! This place rocks! Fresh food, friendly employees, and who doesn't love tzatziki! I got the chicken schwarma, Greek salad, tabuleh, and spicy hummus. The spicy is not too spicy, but then again, I like spicy, packed with flavor, slather it on the pita bread, and forget the fork use the pita to scoop it all up. Mix up all those flavors for an action-packed burst of freshness. If I am in the area, I'm going here!

Great place for a quick bite to eat. Servings were generous and I was super full after. Quality of ingredients was awesome, prices are reasonable, service is speedy and very friendly, they cater, food is not greasy and seems like a healthy choice for lunch! There is plenty of parking in this complex. However, I don't find the taste of many of the items to be authentic Afghan. Meat is cooked well but lacks flavor in my opinion, a little on the dry side. Quality of items is good but flavors were on the milder side, was hoping for the spicy hummus to pack a bigger punch of flavor, same with the falafels. read more

From the mouth of an 8 year old, "you should give this place 5 stars!" Kiddo is picky but he really enjoyed their chicken & rice. I got a chicken and rice bowl & my husband got a wrap. Both seriously delicious! Super friendly individuals who were working behind the counter. In fact, when we walked in, my husband started dancing to the music & an employee prepping food, joined in!! A few days ago, I had a lot of food from Yafa Humus. * a yummy bowl: chicken shawarma, brown rice, spicy hummus, dolmeh, and LOTS of hot sauce. * delicious lentil soup. * pistachio baklava. * their custom cola soda. They were ALL highly delicious and came with very fresh ingredients, and they served it very quickly. I liked the dolmeh the best, and I would return soon to get it as an appetizer. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner at any time! read more

My husband and I got dinner here last night and we had a great experience! The menu was very clear and easy to see the options. They had all of the traditional and popular options like shawarma and falafel but also fresh, updated options that appeal to people wanting lighter foods like vegetables and salad. So glad there's a new mediterranean spot in the area! My boyfriend and I tried Petra recently because of all the amazing reviews, and we were super disappointed by the lack of seasoning and flavor in their food -- and also how little meat you get for the price. Yafa in contrast was reasonably priced, and was seasoned superbly! I got a bowl with hummus, baba ganoush, shawarma, and falafel, and everything tasted exactly as it should. The falafel had great flavor and crunch. My boyfriend got the gyro pita, which was really well priced ($8.5 I think). The meat was perfect and not overcooked, and the pita was warm and fluffy. Wonderfully seasoned hummus. Oh their pita chips & dip are amazing too! I normally don't love pita chips because they're too hard/hurt my mouth, but theirs were thin and crisp and flavorful! read more

I usually take photos of my food but this time, I was too hungry and eager to dig in. I got the bowl with Gyro/Chicken, Greek salad, hummus, baba ghanoush, and tzatziki. It was delicious! The gyro was flavorful, the hummus was creamy, the baba ghanoush was alright. My favorite was the tzatziki! It was perfect... I could eat that with pita all day long. My only complaint was the pitas didn't seem to be fresh. Also, my meal had a lot of soft components and zero crunch - next time (because I'll be back!) I will make sure to add some sort of crunch factor to round out the textures. I was happy with my meal and highly recommend the bowl if you want a variety. .......Until next time..... read more

My absolute favorite in Tracy. I always have my initial review of a restaurant first. If it's good that's a plus, but I usually wait to review until after my 5th or more visit. I look for consistency. When a restaurant first opens their door, they have to be good, right? They have to make that impression to hook and pull you in. But, what happens when the honeymoon is over? Will the food still taste good, after a year or more? For Yafa Hummus, yes! The food is delicious, the service is great! If I lived closer to it, I'd eat here everyday. read more

I'm not a huge fan of most Mediterranean type places, always a flavor that I just don't care for. BUT, my wife ordered this place for dinner and it was all very delicious. Falafel was great and it wasn't dry! Rice was great and the hummus is going to be a new favorite. We're new to the area, I'm sure we'll be eating here often! read more

My family was craving falafels and found this restaurant on Yelp, and WOW this definitely went above our expectations!! When you come in, you need to walk all the way in and place your order at the cash register. The cashier was super nice and recommended me to get the catering platter when I told her I was ordering for 5 people. We got the smaller pack($59.99 before tax) which came with your choice of protein (we chose falafels which came with 25 pieces), 1 rice (brown rice), pita pack (6 pieces of pita), 1 spread (spicy humus), 1 salad(Mediterranean salad), and 1 sauce (tahini). Overall, we were STUFFED and it was perfect for our family of 5!! The food came out super fast and the falafels were fresh and out of the fryer. They even asked if we wanted the pitas warmed up. I talked to the owner and a few employees for a bit while waiting for the food, and they were all super nice!! Definitely recommend everyone to try it out :) read more

If I could give more stars I would. The food was so tasteful and fresh! The customer's services was outstanding. The Manager and his team were absolutely Awesome and nice! This is what I'm talking about when it comes to customer service. I would definitely drive over the altamont and 30mins away for this service! Love this place! I order about once a week. Food is authentic, consistently fresh, fits the macros, and they offer healthy options. We care about what we consume which has led us to care even more about what we serve. Freshness is our key ingredient, the highest quality of vegetables and beans is all we know. All of our sides are Vegetarian and almost all are Vegan. The Gyro & Chicken Shawarma meat is all-natural with no hormones added; also Halal. Lastly, the Falafel is made fresh daily from scratch using Grandpa’s 50+ year recipe and spices.

Established in 2017.

OUR STORY - In 1951, our grandfather, Afeef Awad, traveled to the city of Yafa which is located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea. While he was in Yafa, he learned how to make Hummus and made his first batch that started our restaurant's devotion for hummus. A few years later, he moved to Amman, Jordan and opened up his own restaurant to give people the taste of his delicious, handcrafted hummus. Throughout the years as a restaurant owner and hummus enthusiast, he perfected his recipe to produce World Class Hummus, which made its' way all the way to California. Dining out should be relaxing and enjoyable, not an experience where you feel ignored and leave angry. Sadly, we won't be returning. There are now so many better options in Livermore with better food, warmer service, and staff who actually value their customers.

Order at a counter and food gets brought to your table. There's a full bar (which I thought was strange for this type of food) but this is also Livermore where it still tends to have a stronger drinking culture than most other suburban towns. Most of the seating is in their 'outdoor' patio which is pretty well enclosed with one of those catering tents. Babaghanoush ($8/2.5*) Looked great with warm pita and an olive oil drizzle on top. Texture was spot on creamy and soft but they overloaded this usually delicate dip/mezze with enough raw garlic to kill a horse. Now I usually love garlic but this was to the point where you couldn't taste anything else so main ingredient which is roasted eggplant, you couldn't even tell what it was. And your mouth was tingling with that harsh garlic taste for minutes after chewing it down. Instead of wasting it, I packed it home and used it like Toum to spread onto other things. I've actually had Toums less potent than this. Adana Kabob ($19/4.5*) This a ground lamb kabob Turkish style. Similar to a Lule, Koobideh, Shami kabobs from other cultures. Turkish has pretty bold spicing but not as strong as Afghan or Pakistani. And definitely more assertive than Persian or Armenian. So kind of in the middle of the spectrum. I loved the texture and the flavor, just maybe a tad ambitious on the charring. Now that char did add an awesome grill flavor but a couple degrees more than burnt qualities may then be perceived. Combo Beef/Lamb Kabob $20/4*) For combos you can actually pick from several kabobs. They use smaller chunks like half inch cubes small. It is very natural tasting, no heavy marinades or spicing. Tasted like just salt to me so you can really taste the protein. But very well done but not really dry. I just prefer larger chunks like at least 1 inch cubes, so the meat stays juicy and succulent. Afghan and Persian kabobs usually have bigger pieces on those skewers. And these plates have a side of salted plain rice (not basmati) a green salad, some pita and a nice dollop of hummus which was top notch. Decent food, efficient service is going to make them a solid option for me in this town. Iskender, lamb shanks still in the zone for me to try.

So happy I discovered this place: best meal I had in 4 days! The service was speedy and they were ultra polite and attentive. I had the deluxe wrap: amazingly good hummus, falafel, potatoes and some other goodies in a lavash wrapper. Yum! They even gave me a sample of their lentil soup...better than I can make myself, and I'm a good cook. And three kinds of baklava for dessert. Usually, I don't even notice the pita, but Yafa's is a must have (comes with the bowl). Chicken Shawarma was well charred, but the juicy Gyro was even better! The spicy hummus was amazing: not spicy but lingers - another must have. Garlic sauce (must have) and baba ghanoush complemented all the other flavors. Tzaziki was nice, but dolma wasn't memorable. I'll skip the falafel sliders next time - the falafel was flavorful, but dry. Overall, everything was seasoned with care - nothing was overly salty. Highly recommended. read more

Gyro Wrap: Plenty of meat and veggies to fill the pita bread. It was not too oily and easy to hold. I always hate it when you try and pick up your food and it all just falls out on your plate and you shake your head. Luckily, I didn't have this experience with the wrap. The flavors were all delicious and I felt very satiated after the meal. The circle fries were crispy as well and I really enjoyed them. I would have liked a dipping sauce to go with them, but I had some at work to compensate. Overall, I can see myself ordering from here again

I may decide to try this place again, but definitely would stay away from french fries. The restaurant is small and located in downtown Livermore. Parking is challenging although if you persevere, you will find some.

They have at least a dozen tables inside and a few outside as well. The moussaka proved to be a solid choice. It came with hummus, salad, rice and bread. Hubby enjoyed the fresh flavors and said he would definitely order it again. I ordered the chicken shish wrap and it was smaller in size but filling. The chicken was moist and seasoned well. Overall, a nice experience. The interior is cozy and comfortable. The staff will come and clean the tables as time allows. There was very little interaction with the employees but they thanked us as we were leaving. Plenty of parking in the large lot shared with many other businesses.
