Great Mediterranean food and friendly personalized service. Their pita as the base for a lot of the dishes was fluffy and warm and flavorful. I'm Greek so I know if the pita ain't good, don't bother. Come on people, let's be realistic. This place is just OK. I was super jazzed to try it out after reading the slew of 5 star Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype at all. It has a Subway vibe; meaning you feel like you are ordering at the kitchen. The few inside tables may be available depending on how busy they are. There are also tables set up in the parking lot under a canopy -- if you like eating with flies. Despite having to yell through the face masks and plexiglass, the staff were friendly enough and the food came out fast. Always a plus. However, 5 stars it was not. The pita bread was over cooked or old. Same difference -- dry and hard. The grape leaves (when done right are one of my favorite things in the world to eat) were very firm, chewy, pasty, mealy and simply lacked anything close to good flavor. They reminded me of canned dolmas I tried once. Like then, I threw most of these away. The gyro (pronounced 'hero' -- but if you ask for it that way the staff in most places will look at you like you're from Mars) was generously filled with under-spiced dry meat and required large gulps of soda to get it down. The baba ghanoush was white and flavorless. Mind you I got here hungry! I'm used to the savory red version. Lastly, the hummus was creamy enough but nothing special flavor-wise. Forgettable at best. I guess I'm just spoiled by the many wonderful Mediterranean restaurants around LA. Oh well. At best the food is OK and this place is worthy of 3 stars but not a 5 star dining experience -- even for Tracy. read more

So good!! We had the baklava gelato and it was incredible! Mouth watering tidbits of fresh (not soggy) baklava mixed in and topped with creamy gelato. Generous portions of both baklava and gelato and very inexpensive! Came only for dessert but definitely will make another trip soon for dinner or lunch. The food looked fresh, authentic and healthy. Their dressing for the spring mix is pretty acidic in my opinion so next time I think i will ask to skip on the dressing. I really love their greek salad and Mediterranean salad. Their tzatziki sauce is also great and they give a big dollop. They give a good amount of meat and sides, so one bowl will forsure fill you up! By far, one of the best spots in Tracy. Quality of food is consistently good, no matter if you pick it or getting it delivered through DoorDash and well-priced. Either way, worth checking out for lunch or dinner. I'm madly in love with their falafel. Crispy, herbaceous, and great for dunking in a refreshing tzatziki sauce. Get as an app before digging into your meal. I usually get their spicy chicken shawarma with light sauce and extra pickles, and it is perfection. If you are curious about their gyros, get one. They are excellent- just be mindful that is you don't like a lot of sauce, ask for light sauce. I've also really enjoyed getting their hummus and flatbread a la carte. I order the hummus here to eat throughout the week since I don't like the ones from the grocery store. Their spicy hummus and pesto hummus deserves a shoutout as some of my favorites in my home. Don't be afraid to try their baklava soft serve ice cream. You wouldn't think it's a great combo, but wow, it was a dark horse fav. Also- the best customer service I've had so far. Tracy has a lousy track record of subpar customer service, but Yafa has some of the most helpful people working there. Overall- try this place out. It pains me to write this update but I will no longer eat at this restaurant. Although the quality of the food is still outstanding, I was taken back by the restaurants complete lack of cleanliness or safety protocols put in place with the current pandemic. My wife and I came here for dinner last night and there were at least five employees all within close proximity to each other and the customers yet none were wearing face coverings. There was only one other couple eating at the restaurant yet everything was dirty and the garbage was full. The staff are just all kind of milling around not really doing anything. People were coming in and dining and there was zero effort on staffs part to clean and or disinfect tables. Then to top it off as we were eating an employee decided to sit right next to my wife and I and completely ignore any semblance of social distancing. The whole experience was completely off putting. Again, the food was still delicious but I cant support a restaurant that is not willing to take proper safety measures in this difficult time that we all live in. read more

I ordered hummus & pita and baba ghanoush, falafel & pita. Pita is warm and soft. Hummus came with cooked chickpeas on top. Baba ghanoush (smashed eggplant) topped with diced tomato. Hummus was ok, not as good as I expected. Falafel was a bit dry. Although, baba ghanoush was good. If you like eggplant, give this a try. read more

NARRATIVE: Yafa Hummus' menu isn't big or extensive but, it covers just about every tasty and well known (traditional) greek food. The restaurant itself is located in one of my "NOT so favorite" strip-malls, within one of the cities busiest areas. The interior is clean, well maintained and natural sunlight from the Yafa Hummus' large pane windows saturate the interior during the day. Since seating is limited. Seating inside on a busy day may be a challenge. Thankfully, Yafa Hummus offers take-out as an option. The staff at Yafa Hummus were friendly, fast and helpful when the wife had questions about their menu. EVIDENCE: I ordered and tried: The Gyro (as it comes). The Chicken Shawarma Wrap (spicy) and Dolma (4 pieces). The Gyro was made just right. Traditional, with lots of Tzatziki Sauce and onions which weren't overpowering like I normally get. The Chicken Shawarma was OUTSTANDING! One of the freshest and best tasting I've had. Lastly, the Dolma. Refreshing and a tasty treat I've missed for way too long. I chose Yafa because of the yelp reviews, and am very glad I did. I could've had a bowl of spicy hummus to myself, it was so good! I chose the shawarma plate and my husband chose the gyro plate. I ordered spicy hummus with it and Greek salad, plus tabbouleh. I tried all 3 sauce options (tzaziki, garlic and tahini) and loved them all. The pita was baked fresh that day, and you could tell. It was amazing and completely different than what you usually get at a middle eastern restaurant. I wish I lived closer! And seriously, I could've polished off a whole bowl of the spicy hummus. The guys who served us were friendly, helpful, and told us the story of their grandfather, which I loved :) small businesses are the backbone of this country, and I hope they are successful!
