Excited Yafo is in Plaza Midwood, same great food and service. I would say this location does not have a lot of indoor seating, but plenty of seating indoors. Be aware that Plaza Midwood can be a hard place to park. This location has take out/order ahead should you want to take yours to go. If you didn't know Yafo is an amazing Mediterranean/Middle Easter restaurant, where you get in line, and order what you want on the other side of glass. They work very quickly so don't be intimidated by long lines. I tell people this is a great place to go if they want to try something new, or if they have people with them with allergies. Yafo's menu has a lot to choose from for people with special dietary needs. Everything I've tried is really good, especially the bread. I just received DoorDash from Yafo and I am coming to Yelp for the first time in a LONG time to say I am blown away! Looking for a new restaurant to try this restaurant came up under the 'Healthy' section and so I wanted to give it a shot. I ordered the Build Your Own bowl and every single bite has been a taste explosion. The stuffed grape leaves are the most flavorful I have had in Charlotte. Fresh is the best way to describe the food and environment with the bright fresh colors as you walk in. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in but I'm glad I went . The staff was over the top friendly the manager even stopped by my table for chit chat and future suggestions. I chose the shrawma chicken wrap and roasted cauliflower. The cucumber lime mint lemonade topped it all of. If this place wasn't so far I would probly find myself here every day!!! Small spot beside Snooze. Wanted to try something new so we did! The food was good, we initially though it was bland but added some sauces to get the full experience of the food. Unfortunately we both got sick (nauseated, vomiting, on the toilet) the following morning. My partner ordered the chicken schnitzel with brussel sprouts and I created my own grain bowl with quinoa, beets, the cucumber tomato salad, and falafel. We tried the green schug which was uniquely delicious but may have contributed to getting sick, kind've like a food poisoning feeling which was disappointing. Staff was efficient and friendly (we called our order in and the guy who answered and took our order was very pleasant, so thank you!). I love their food! But what's the deal with always running out of falafel and me constantly having to wait for you to make more? This happens in the restaurant and for mobile orders regularly. Tonight I mobile ordered and it says my order will be ready in 20 minutes. I head to Yafo and on the way, I receive a text saying my order is ready so I head in. I then get inside and they tell me they are "just waiting on falafel". I wait over 10 minutes for the falafel. When I get my food it's been over 30 minutes since I ordered, but the food was stated to be "ready in 20 minutes". Why have mobile ordering if I still have to wait? Just touched down in Charlotte....I was looking for somewhere healthy to eat and came across Yafo. Ordered via DoorDash and guys this food is soooooo good! I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl; cumin jasmine rice, beets, Kalamata olives, cucumber/tomato salad, sumac onion, tabbouleh, Tunisian hummus chickpea salad with Sustainable Harissa Salmon! Oh and it came with Angel pita and Toum ( Lebanese garlic sauce) . The salmon was seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. All the ingredients were fresh. After visiting here several times over the past year, I stand by my original opinion of great food. I am reducing by one star because they always, and I mean always forget my Laffah (bread). The Brussel sprouts are amazing here. My daughter doesn't like the upscale mac n cheese that comes with the kids meal, so I generally eat that for her. I purposefully drive 20 minutes to eat here at least once per month. My standard order is: Grain Bowl, Shawarma Chicken, Cumin Jasmine Rice, Tzatziki - Traditional Greek yogurt and cucumber spread, Purple Cabbage Slaw, Cucumber + Tomato Salad, and Chickpea + Roasted Red Pepper Salad. My experience with this I believe Greek like restaurant was good. They have a lot of variety in toppings to go inside your rice, grain, or hummus bowl. I feel like this restaurant is a mix between chipotle and Zoe's kitchen. They have a variety of sauces & special made drinks. The rotisserie chicken was delicious, although slightly dry. The mac and cheese was great, but the roasted potatoes were a little mushier than we expected. They tasted good though. The bowl toppings were very tasty without being overpowering (I got almost all of them!). The fresh bread they serve with it is warm, with a great chew to it. I'd suggest opting to build your own bowl and add as many fresh ingredients as possible. I usually get salad/cous cous combo with a hummus spread and then add ALL the veggies. This is one place where a meat is not needed to make the dish flavorful or filling. Try their chickpea salad or roasted beets! I'm a big fan of their spicy red schug, too. I love getting the bowl with two different bases, all of which are delicious but I think their hummus has an excellent creaminess to it, as well as the baba ganoush, but you can also get grains or lettuce. Then the best part, choosing from all the fresh toppings. There's too many to list here! I usually get the chicken on top of mine, but they have a variety of other meats and veggie options. And to top it off the bowl comes with a homemade, nice and warm pita like bread! So good. The bowl is usually enough for two meals for me! You can also order the rotisserie chicken with sides. Like many fast casual dining establishments--there are so many options when you begin to consider all the ways you can mix and match--the set dishes can be a great first experience approach, but once you get the hang of it, the freedom to choose is liberating. My go to is always half kale and spinach and half grain bowl. With toppings a mile long, there is something for everyone to enjoy--even for those with a vegetarian and vegan diet. The parking lot is a whole different story--hold your breath as you squeeze into the compact car spots and double check the backup camera as you put it in reverse as you say "see you soon" and cruise out of the lot. read more
