The waiters had seated us right away and let us pick where we wanted to sit. It was a little busy but even with it being busy they were able to take our orders right away. We were able to get our food in a decent amount of time and did not have to wait long. The restaurant is super cute and great for a a group of 4 or smaller. The service was super friendly as well. This sushi joint is surprisingly good! It is so cutely decorated, more like a boba shop than a sushi joint! Their sushi/sashimi is fresh and quality is good. I got the Chirashi bowl and they do give you quite a few pieces for the price. Definitely worth it in my opinion. I think they are owned by a Korean family, therefore their chirashi had Korean pickled vegetables in them (something you definitely don't see in a traditional Japanese Chirashi). Best Sushi EVER. I've had sushi in California and Okinawa. I like sushi a lot. This place has the freshest, most savory items I've had anywhere. We live a half hour or farther away but we will be making special trips just to come back and eat her. Everything we had from the miso soup to the spicy tuna and unagi (served warm!) was so flavorful I was just amazed. The service was fast and well done although we were the only people there. It was mid-afternoon on a Saturday, but I expect they will be slammed on Friday and Saturday nights, when they're open until 9:30. So this is my second time this week coming here. Me and my wife closed on a house on Tuesday and found this spot in our new neighborhood. Their decor style is pretty modern. I haven't been the biggest sushi fan over the last couple years because most places disappoint. I'm big on quality of the fish/seafood. Yaki is doing it right! Every roll was delicious and tasted so fresh. We had the spicy roll combo, shrimp tempura roll, and spider roll. It was so good our first time we had to run it back again today. We got the same exact order, which really shows how good it was. Normally we love trying different items, but this time we needed another dose! Thanks Yaki for bringing me back to Sushi! well, i have to say that the staff are beyond kind, gentle and friendly, and the salmon sushi (my go to dish) is the best i have ever had. however, they need to change out the paper straws to plastic, or at least have both for those, like my hubby and me, that want a straw but cant stand the way the paper straw sticks to your tongue and lips. its a nice place, but the music is night club type of hyper music, vs maybe something more relaxing. the chairs are very hard and odd shaped clear plastic chairs. its cool looking but i would either put cushions on them or switch them out. sadly, the 2nd (and last time for me) that i went there, just the other day, they said they would have to charge me for a dollar for a little side of dipping sauce (if its not the soy, thats on the table). its closer to where i live but i found a better, more relaxing place, with double the salmon for less cost, soft music, and a softer atmosphere, a bit further south. I hope they take my suggestions, as i would be happy to come back some day if things change. read more

The service wasn't great for an empty restaurant, since they forgot to refill waters until we were paying. The one nice thing they did was give us a modified chopstick for my toddler, although I'm surprised the staff didn't give in to offer her a fork or spoon after watching her, hah. Let me first say that I am not a big fan of sushi. My wife is the one that loves sushi. Heck, I think my son likes sushi more than me. Anyways, my wife ordered one of their sushi platters or trays and she liked the sushi a lot. Again, I know nothing about sushi but her entree looked really fresh and clean (especially since we got our food to go). I also don't know how sushi is priced normally so I can't say if the sushi is fairly priced or overpriced. We got a chicken hibachi for the kids to share and a steak hibachi for me. Each of the entrees came with your typical japanese salad. Their dressing has some peanut flavors in it which was delicious (I'll be honest and say I ate all 3 side salads because everyone was full or didn't want them). I didn't try the chicken hibachi but the kids seemed to enjoy it. My steak hibachi was really good and the meat was flavorful. The fried rice was delicious too. Not too greasy, but had enough flavor/seasoning. The ONLY reason for removal of a star is because of the pricing. At a hibachi restaurant, you are also paying for the atmosphere. I get it. But when doing takeout, our dishes were basically fried rice and a chopped up piece of steak or chicken along with a handful of sauteed vegetables. It should not cost $21-$23 (potentially more if you get different protein or the combos). I think $15-$17 would be a better range for the hibachi entrees. For example, the chain (yes, I know it is a chain) restaurant, Sarku, does made to order hibachi as well (again, I know it is a chain restaurant and the quality isn't as good as this place). However, Sarku charges $6-8 per hibachi entree and gives you almost as much food per serving. Is Sarku's quality as good as Yaki Sushi? Of course not. But is Yaki Sushi worth 3 times the price of Sarku's? I don't think so. That is why I suggested $15-$17 per entree for dinner. But maybe it is just me. This area is rich anyways so people probably don't care about prices. Again, that is my only minor suggestion. The food was fantastic and I would probably still come back and order again (I might just weigh other options when thinking about what to eat that fall into similar price points). read more

It has an extremely nice interior and the service was amazing! The owner was so kind to us which made our dining experience so much better. We ordered the Spicy Tuna, Philly, Salmon Avocado, Eel, and Crab roll as well as the 2pc Ikura Nigiri. The unagi sauce was delicious and sweet and the portions were good. We also ordered the Unagi Don and Veggie Lovers' roll for take-out. Our check came out to be $64.08 which is a really good price for how much we ordered, as well as the excellent service we got. I was in the area w my parents and decided to try this new sushi place that opened less than 2 weeks ago! we ordered 2 chirashi, 1 sushi regular, and a spicy salmon roll. Unfortunately, they took in the order wrong and we ended up receiving only 1 order of chirashi. however the service was amazing and they brought out a tempura plate for us to enjoy while waiting for the order they had forgotten about. the portion sizes are decent! our meal came out to be about ~$70. Compared to the other sushi spots in the area, Yaki sushi is pretty average. The variety of sushi is pretty average from the rolls to the sashimi. They also have hibachi and rice entrees. There were many unique options that caught my eye. Don't get me wrong though...this place has pretty much everything most people are looking for so you can always find something for someone. This place really needs to work on the customer experience. I came with a friend for lunch and ordered off their lunch menu. There were two other tables so it wasn't too busy. We ordered the "regular sushi" and the hibachi with noddles and spicy pork. The regular sushi came in about 10 minutes while the hibachi noodles with spicy pork came about 30 minutes later. Totally understand the hibachi needed to get cooked so it would take longer but it seemed like they just forgot my order. After the sushi came out, the servers just kept walking by ignoring the fact I did not have my entree. There was no update or check-in until the food finally came. Unfortunately the sub par customer service coupled with the average menu resulted in my rating. Hopefully this was just a one-off experience. read more
