Heads up this is takeout only! Orders take about 15-20 minutes if you are just doing a walk in. My Salmon Lover order was pretty straightforward - salmon nigiri and sushi with nothing else. I mean really. Look at the picture haha. But I had no issue with it! It was what I was exactly what I was craving for in the moment: fish was fresh! My group had a variety of other dishes including Chicken Katsu and Rainbow Roll (not pictured). Again- no frills, pretty straightforward; but very good fish. Solid place, much appreciated!

Lived near Plattsburgh my whole life and never came here. I missed out. The food is fabulous. She had the Plattsburgh roll and I had the Volcano roll. Everything was fantastic. Server was friendly and personable. My new favorite in town.

My boyfriend and I ate here while we were killing time before the Lantern Tour in Au Sable Chasm. I've had better. Our seaweed salad came to our table frozen with small pieces of ice still in it. My teeth are sensitive to cold, so I had to pour some of my hot green tea into the bowl to eat it. Also, the eel in my Dragon roll (eel, cucumber with slice avocado on top served with eel sauce) wasn't evenly distributed because there was no eel in 3 of the 8 pieces I had which was disappointing because I only ordered it for the eel. Lastly, my boyfriend loves spicy sushi but he said that they topped his Mars roll with too much of it that he couldn't really taste anything underneath. Our waitress was very nice though.

Yama is the best sushi in Plattsburgh! Food is moderately priced and fish is fresh! Will definitely be back!

Crazy Roll and Spider Roll. So good!

My wife and I have been here maybe half a dozen times and it's always a delight. Some of the best sushi we have ever had, and the Crazy Roll (shrimp tempura roll with tons of crab salad on top) is our favorite sushi roll, period. Last night we tried the hibachi dinners for the first time, and found generous portions with sublimely grilled vegetables and expertly prepared filet mignon, scallops and shrimp. Service was excellent and attentive as always. We live two hours south of Plattsburgh but visit a few times a year and would not ever skip stopping in to YAMA Sushi.

Great place to eat. We are stuck up Californians and very particular about our sushi. Highly recommended. Very tasty and very nice people.

On a Monday evening almost all other restaurants were closed. The special sushi roles were good and so were the dumplings.

I had sushi from Yama last Friday and both myself and my coworker got sick. Food poisoning. Be careful. The sushi did not take fresh either.

The quality of sashimi is unparalleled (especially for the area). The tempura is not heavy or greasy. The grilled lamb chop was amazing. Each week it's a new surprise menu! Kitsune is back at Talta Lodge summer 2023! Every Thursday from 5:30pm-8:30pm on the Talta lawn for the Little River Summer Series, an outdoor event featuring Kitsune menu, beer tent, live music, lawn games, fire pits, stream to wade in, and gourmet s'mores by La Shack. Family friendly and even (leashed) dog-friendly event. No tickets or fee to enter! Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm-9pm back in the downstairs lounge space - reservations recommended. For the past winter (Oct2022-Mar2023), Kitsune was located as a pop up on Thu, Fri and Sat at Talta Bluebird with a limited number of tables. Reservations are recommended for the sit down dinner on Thursdays. And your liquor tab will be charged separately - Talta keeps these funds but the tips do go to the Kitsune crew. Fridays and Saturdays are a limited bar menu. There is some take out available.

Our bill was over $200 for two people and the time between appetizers and entrees was significant to the point the server comped one of our apps. The food isn't seasoned properly and the oysters were... not Good. Firstly you only get 4 for $16 and each one has a mound of shaved ice on top I could only eat one and that was a struggle. Very bizarre. I thought maybe the ramen would be good but nothing has much flavor at all. I would only recommend the bar and maybe pass on food
