I rolled up to this spot on Friday night and were starving. They sat is down immediately and took our drink order. Unfortunately the happy hour is from 9 to 11pm and we were way too hungry before then. We opted for AYCE since it is approx $35/person. They had plenty of options: Appetizers, Sashimi, Carpaccio, Soup/Salad, Hand Rolls, Cut Rolls, Special Rolls, Dessert. The server took down our orders immediately: Vegetable Roll as a hand roll, Salmon kama, Unagi sushi, Miso and Tom Yum soup, Cucumber salad, Seaweed salad, Salmon and Yellowtail and Super White Tuna carpaccio, Garlic Tuna and Super white Tuna and Yellowtail Sashimi, and Garlic Edamame. For dessert we both got the Green Tea ice cream. Everything came out pretty quickly and presentation was excellent. The soups were flavorful, each item was the appropriate portion, and the raw items (fish) were extremely fresh and were light and easy to chew. The eel was as expected--cooked, light amount of sauce, equal rice to sushi proportion. The Salmon kama was tender and a bit crunchy with quite a bit of meat. I was blown away by the quality of the food and the ingredients since I hadn't visited here in awhile. The staff was pretty attentive and made sure to clear out spots quickly to help us make room for all our dishes. The ice cream was a little tough but I opted to eat it with my chop sticks. We even held our son's one-month celebration party here.for 30-40 ppl We went once last year and the quality was already disappointing--too salty and not fresh. This time, it was still very poor. The 9pm "special" is basically meaningless. If you're worried about losing money, it's better not to offer a special at all. The service was also bad, especially from a middle-aged Korean lady. Place has inconsistent service & quality. I try to give this establishment multiple chances since it is one of the closer AYCE establishments near my house. I want to love it, but it hasn't given me the chance to do so yet. The place can get pretty noisy, but not as loud as a concert or club. The quality of the food varies by the chefs, I believe. As if this place even needs more reviews! It's actually more like 4 and 9/10. I'm knocking a tiny bit off because the tables and the menus were kind of sticky, but the rest of my experience had me wanting to get home fast to write a review. I had cold soba noodles for the first time around two months ago at the Wicked Spoon buffet at the Cosmopolitan. I'm not really a fan of buffets, but I was invited and we went. I had their cold soba noodles and they were life changing. So I was on a quest to find cold sobas off the strip. I got on yelp to look specifically for cold soba noodles with a dipping sauce and found Yama sushi. I made Yama sushi my goal to try their sobas and hoped that had that slightly sweet, "cloudy", unfiltered sake that I don't know the name of. I got there tonight at around 5:30. The staff was so friendly from the server assistant to the wait person who took my order. I got a booth which was nice and comfortable and checked out the menu. The had two types of cold soba noodles: one with tempura and one not. I ordered the one without the extra tempura, along with some nigiri sushi which was yellow tail (really thick and outstanding), ikura (abundant amount of salmon eggs) and eel. The eel was really good but different. I was expecting the grilled, slightly dry, almost roasted type that is typical in sushi. Instead, I got what seemed like it was baked in savory juices. It was so tender , it broke apart easily. But no complaints, it was tasty. As of the sake,they didn't have the type I was craving (the cloudy, unfiltered type, served cold) but my server knew the sake selection and with her knowledge helped me decide on a clear, cold sake with a lychee flavor. This was a very good choice. A tad bit sweeter than I usually like, but still delicious. Then, the treasure I came for: The cold soba noodles! Served in a bento style box with a great sauce AND bunch of tempura!! When I saw it, I thought"Well, I guess I'm paying more than I thought" but decided to not complain and keep it. I'm so so so happy I did! The shrimp tempura was fresh and not fishy at all, the veggie tempura was fresh and almost rich! The breading was not oily at all, very light and let the flavor of the shrimp and veggies shine! Just so yummy! And the vibe. After about a half hour of being there more people came in including a party of about 14. Everyone seemed happy and this was a Tuesday, early evening! And to top it off, my bill was so much less than I thought it would be. I was debating getting the AYCE special, but I knew I was getting sobas, and those sobas are really filling. My server agreed that I should probably go a la carte. I did and it was a good choice. So.....6 pieces of excellent nigiri sushi, a generous amount of soba with huge pieces of tempura and a 6oz bottle of amazing cold sake came to ....less than $44!! Did I mention what friendly staff they have? I even had the door opened for me as I said good-bye. It's open at 11am for lunch and they stay open until 10. Worth a visit. read more

BOGO California roll was good: imitation crab billing was silky, nice balanced flavor. Enjoyed these two items. The yellow tail and spicy tuna rolls were fishy. I ate one piece of each roll and threw the rest out. I cannot stand any fish taste. The seaweed salad was too wet. When it's too wet, it takes away the crunch od the seaweed. I must have pissed off the chef walking in today wearing my Dodgers hat after they eliminated the Phillies in the NLDS. In any event, if you like your rice to be 4-5 times the mass of your fish, you'd love it here. However, if you pass on your local grocery store's in-house sushi offerings partly due to the ratio of fish to rice, let me assure you that my chef today went above and beyond to ensure I got my week's worth of simple carbs! Don't even get me started on the hand rolls either. I wish I took some photos, because this was seriously egregious. But what's done is done. I'll still come back to order the baked roll to-go because that is still one of my favorites in the world of AYCE sushi restaurants in Vegas... so 1 star for that. We go here every time we're in Vegas. The last time my husband was here was in December and upon walking in the sushi chef welcomed him by name. All you can eat sushi for $31.95 and they keep a constant stream of delicious rolls, sashimi... coming to your table. My go to ayce sushi! I love going for their happy menu price of $26 from 9p-closing. Unfortunately my bf does not like seafood but loves coming with me since there is a wide variety of fried appetizers that he enjoys. This was the absolute worst service I've ever experienced in any restaurant first when the server sat at our table. Yama is my favorite ayce sushi place. My first experience was the og one on the east side, and then I started going to the one on spring mtn, which is my fave location- however, the parking lot is small and busy. This place is just like the spring mtn location, except it has ample parking. We came here on a Sunday night and they had plenty of seating available. Our server got all of our food in and it came out quick, but randomly. The food was made the same as the other locations- delicious. The benches were pretty worn and taped up, but the overall place seemed spacious and had high ceilings. If I'm driving my beater, I'll prob skip this location and go to the Yama on spring mtn, but if I have my daily, I'd prob go to this location since I'd have more parking options. read more

I used to work at a sushi restaurant in SoCal so know a lot of rolls but only really eat nigiri sushi bc in purist that way, so can't speak to the rolls, but everything was fresh and came out fast and I could tell they were making the sushi rice with the sushi vinegar. I ate a lot more things than the picture, was a great option for AYCE away from the strip and easy find and park. Note that they charge an extra 3% for a credit card payment. Came here for the AYCE as the reviews seemed to indicate this would be a good local option versus driving further. Sad to say, I would not agree. While the menu does offer extensive options, including many for those who don't eat raw options, as a couple in our group fell within. Though while there was good selection, the quality was a bit lacking compared to other AYCE options I have tried. The service was decent as usually whoever we asked for something, would return with it in a fair amount of time. The food came out sporadically from the kitchen, with rolls arriving quickly, and anything else taking at least 5-10 min., though this was to be expected. The restaurant itself is spacious if the back side near the stage is opened, as that area allows for larger parties than 4. Overall, I appreciate the options beyond sushi, and the appetizers offered, though with this being on the higher end pricing of the AYCE places in Vegas, I probably would venture elsewhere for AYCE sushi/japanese. read more

This is my second time coming here, and this time I brough my boyfriend who loves sushi as much as he loves me. (and me to him) We ordered our usual Nigiris. I loved that the happy hour comes with the Hamachi Kama, the Uni, the Sashimi salad (the hot sauce we love), and soft shell crab. It's quite rare for locations to have the Hamachi kama available at a certain time, so I love that this was still there. The service was quick and efficient. We were not as attended to, compared to other tables. But we also weren't needing as much, since we came to know what we wanted. The ambianace is a quieter version compared to the other branches, but it was also late. I love the place being clean, and kept enough, for a business like Yama Sushi who has been in the Vegas Valley AYCE game since before I moved here in 2014. read more
