Look, it wasn't bad food, it just didn't hit the spot for me. The wontons were great. I just wasn't impressed with the duck or the noodles. Staff were friendly and helpful. We came for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all.

We hade food delivered which arrived on time and correctly. We ordered the Wonton Soup, Roasted Duck Over Steamed Rice, Beef Chow Fun with Bean Sprouts and the Good Taste BBQ Pork. The wonton soup had the broth in one package and wontons in another. There were a good amount of tasty wontons and the broth had a mild flavor - very good. The roasted duck was moist and flavorful, the rice was cooked perfectly. The beef chow fun didn't have a huge amount of beef but what was there was tender and the noodles were spot on. The bbq pork was my favorite. The pork was juicy and the outside was super flavorful. We'll definitely return

Scrambled Egg with BBQ Pork over rice! My favorite!

Yang Kee is one of those Chinese Restaurants from a bygone era. No frills, practically no decor, and just a family looking to run their business. When Vietnamese ( literally from Vietnam) like to eat Chinese food, this is the kind of food they typically think of. And I am no different! Service is fast and efficient. And for an authentic Asian restaurant, they're friendlier than most. But don't compare their service levels to that of an American dining experience, it's a totally different culture. The prices are fair, and most of the items give you a generous amount of food. My favorite is their Scrambled Egg dishes. Their eggs are full of flavor, crisp on the outside, and silky on the inside. How it melts and binds the flavor of the seasonings and meat with the rice is something you have to experience! I recommend it with some chili oil and black vinegar if you really want to amp up the flavor even more. I keep finding myself coming back here, so I recommend you give it a try!

I LOVE YANG KEE BBQ! I was born and raised in Portland, and this is where me and my late grandfather would come eat lunch every time we got together. They have the best wonton soup I have found anywhere, I mean anywhere, China included! I also highly recommend the duck, fried shrimp, and chow fun. This is one of those places that even if I am only back in Portland for a weekend, I make sure to come to!

Came here for a quick lunch because we were in the area to pick something up. We are so glad we came here because the food is delicious and comforting The interior is a no frills place but I knew it was authentic the minute I walked in because of the familiar smells. We ordered the beef chow fun and a rice plate with roast pork + bbq pork. The beef chow fun is $17, plenty to share. I enjoyed that the noodles were not too thick and it was cooked perfectly. It had a very nice "wok hei" taste. My only comment is I wish there was more beef, but regardless it was good and I would definitely get it again! The roast pork plate is $15, and to add extra meat it's $6. I wish the dish came with sauce, but otherwise the pork was flavorful. We ended up leaving with leftovers and still ordered a pound of crispy roast pork to take back home! The roast pork was $14.50 a pound, which I think is pretty standard these days. Keep in mind that they will not do half pound orders. I will definitely have to try their noodle soups and other dry noodle options the next time I come!

This area is a little odd then again it's a whole Asian hub, but he myself would not expect such delicious food to be in such a random area, at least for me, but wow... You'll definitely love every dish you get here as it's flavorful and all its goodness and the noodles are to die for and I got the D 11 which is duck and pork over noodle with some green onion soup Which all came out deliciously perfect. I even tried the shrimp and pork dumpling, which was amazing... I cannot wait to try the congee next time and some other dishes. I will definitely be back.

Fast and friendly service. No fuss location with off street parking on 82nd. The beef was tender and flavorful. The wontons were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Veggies were perfectly cooked and not stringy. Noodles were okay but not my favorite part of the dish because compared to the other elements of the soup they felt bland. I preferred them once I added the spicy oil. Will be back!

This place was a winner. So glad we found this spot. We ordered to go but they do have few tables to sit at if you dined in. Service was decent. The lady was VERY helpful. We ordered chicken chow fun, duck, crispy pork, wonton soup and char sui. The chow fun was one of the best I've had in a while! It was cooked perfectly. Duck was ok but the pork and char sui was a hit! The wonton soup was also good.

Thumbs up ~ sizeable piping hot bowl of dumpling soup, smooth flavor. Mound of Chow Mein noodles fresh & hot. Prices are right on. Not the most pleasing decor, a bit grungy. Service was smiley & friendly. Packed with regulars.

Unlike most Cantonese restaurants which stop dim sum service in the early afternoon, this restaurant actually offers dim sum all day. On top of this, prices were incredibly reasonable across the board, and portions sizes were quite generous as well. Between the seven in our party, we split two orders of siu mai, an order of char siu bao, taro puffs, steamed spare ribs, an jelly fish appetizer, a plate of char siu, steamed gai lan with oyster sauce, and stir fried noodles with beef. The quality of dim sum is quite good. The siu mai was tender and larger than your average piece of siu mai. The spare ribs were meaty, tender, and didn't contain too much fatty, grisly parts. The only dish that could've been better was the char siu pork, which I felt was too lean, and lacked a bit of flavor. To be honest, lean pork is actually what some folks prefer, so your milage may vary here. The dish that I enjoyed the most was the stir fried noodles with beef. The beef was incredibly tender -- likely the result of velveting with cornstarch, the noodles were well-seasoned, and garnish of raw bean sprouts provided a nice crunchy texture to the dish. This dish was so large, there was enough for everyone to go back for seconds. If you're looking for a Chinese spot that serves tasty food without breaking the bank, H K Cafe is a wonderful option. I would gladly stop by here again.

It was so bad that I had to spit it out immediately. I called the server over to let them know because I didn't want anyone else to eat it. The response I got was that "maybe the hot weather made it taste like that." That explanation was disappointing. If the food has gone bad because of the weather, it shouldn't be served to customers in the first place. I've eaten enough to know the difference between fresh food and spoiled food, and this definitely tasted off. This was my first experience like this at HK, and it left a really bad impression. I hope they pay closer attention to food quality and freshness so other customers don't have the same experience.

I would say their hainan chicken is probably the best, because you get the simple clean taste of the well cooked chicken that's tender. They even take out most of the bone so makes it easier to eat. The rice is really well seasoned and it's served with broth and two types of dipping sauce (one kind of a soy sauce and another seemed like nuoc nam). The shoyu chicken is also good if you're wanting more savoriness. Because I'm from Hawaii, I was interested in the teriyaki chicken, but I felt the teriyaki sauce was a bit on the wet side, and not as much a glaze like the way I usually find it in Hawaii. It's also the only chicken bowl that has a decent amount of veggies since it comes on a bed of undressed slaw on top of rice. There's also a braised pork belly rice bowl that is tasty and tender, but also very brown (meaning no real veggies on the side). Like I said, I think chicken is the way to go because they really treat the chicken well.

Normally I wouldn't care that much about service, but when a lady in a tacky light pink blazer tries to berate me for not having my order window still up on my phone to prove what my name and order was then we have a problem. What's the point of me providing my name and phone number in the order if you also must see my actual order on my phone? There wasn't even any customers in the restaurant while I was there picking up my order and there were only a few orders on the bench. I offered my name and that I was there for pick up, and I was happy to wait there patiently but this lady demanded to see the order on my phone because she couldn't find any order under my name. I must've closed the paid for order window on my phone on accident so I offered her my license to show her my name, but she got upset, huffed, and said "How are we supposed to give you your order if you don't show us what you ordered?" I did know what I ordered though because it was only 2 things, but she never asked me what I ordered or any other identifying information. Anyways, I ended up quickly finding my own order and she tried arguing that the order didn't say my name (I think she just couldn't read it cause it looks like their ink was running out on their order printer, but I was able to make out my own name and phone number on the order). I finally got my order though after I recited my phone number (which was on the order printout right in front of me so I could've lied anyways if that's what she was actually concerned about, but logic was thrown out the window from the very beginning). Anyways TLDR: service sucked. I won't be going back. You can find the same menu items with way better service at the Master Kong on SE Hawthorne.
