Bottom Line: Even with some minor missteps a total nobrainer. It goes into the rotation. Ordered via doordash today for delivery. The good: Nice timing between restaurant and door dash. Was pretty quick and if i didn't spend 10 minutes wiping everything down it would have still been warm. Main item portion sizes are huge, pair with low prices, and tasty food. This is a good go to for sure! Kids meal could be an adult meal. Pitas were grilled perfectly and tasted excellent! $1 pita add on is totally worth it to have some extra pita around. It's so good! Toppings of pitas (veggies and sauce) were a good balance. Not too much of either. A lot of Greek style places you lose half of it due to over stuffing and your face and plate end up a mess. The size is hefty but totally manageable and not dripping everywhere. Needs improvement Hummus app portion was a little small for the price. Very good though! Fry portions a little small for the price. But man you can't beat the fry style. Super crispy outside, pillowy inside. Even cold from delivery they were really good My onions were a little old (hot and chewy). Not going to give them a hard time for this right now due to covid though. On doordash, there are not diet drink options. So I put it in the instructions and did get diet dr pepper. I appreciate that driver or owner! Someone needs to update the menu options on doordash The directions for toppings on our two pitas were 100% ignored. We're not that picky so not a huge deal, but as struggling as most businesses are please focus on getting this part right. (I'm assuming this wasn't driver fault) Minor detail. Most pita shops will have pickled vegetables as a topping. FYI, this one does not (or left them off). Banana peppers appear to be used instead. I'm just a huge fan of the pickled veg option. lol read more

I ordered delivery via amazon from here so I can't really speak to the full restaurant experience but the food was pretty dang good. The gyro was great; meat delicious, sauce on point, lots of veggies. Hummus and pita were really good, though I think the pita outshone the hummus. I like Aladdin's hummus better, and Crazzy's. It was still most definitely good though. The fries were okay but who is picking Greek based on their fries quality? I'm pretty sure no one is. The rice pudding had a weird texture, almost like the rice wasn't cooked long enough, but the flavor was great. Yappy Greek is better than you think from the looks. It looks like a shithole. They must serve shit you think. In reality they have cheap but great authentic Greek food. There's also many vegetarian options. If you check in you get a free beverage. It's what brought me in. There had to be some incentive for me. If you see what it looks like you would probably think it might be closed. The restaurant is also located in such a poor area for a food related business, especially with food as good as this. It's located at the Huntley and Wilson Bridge intersection. The area is pretty much an industrial wasteland. As for the food it was mind blowing. The falafel pita combo was about $7. It came with a bag full of very crispy fries. The family who owns it are very friendly and work hard. I wouldn't pass up Yappy Greek. It seems like there's so many Greek restaurants in Columbus but many of them are mediocre. This appears to be too from the outside but you would be wrong. read more

This location is right around the corner from where I work. A coworker recommended this place a while ago, and I've just had to have it whenever I am close. Fast, tasty, and convenient if you're staying at any of the hotels in the Worthington area. Found this place just searching restaurants nearby and decided to try it. Only one other family was eating in the restaurant, but the deliveries headed out were nonstop. I'm guessing it's a local favorite for takeout and delivery. This place is amazing. Today is my second time in two weeks going to this restaurant. I am in Columbus for a job training and found this restaurant last week. The first time I got #2 combo- gyro, fries and a drink. It was soooooo good. This time I got the #7 combo- falafel pita wrap, fries and a drink. I added the chicken lemon soup. OH MAN!!! I haven't been disappointed. I actually texted my husband and told him we need a trip to Columbus so he can try this restaurant. This restaurant is small but you can get carry out, delivery or sit down in the restaurant. I've gotten carry out twice and it's super fast. I'll try the other services and update this review at a later date. Either way, I definitely recommend this restaurant. I don't have anything negative to say. read more

First time here and it won't be the last. We came as a team for lunch yesterday, chosen by a coworker for her birthday. I'm pretty sure this was the best falafel I've had in awhile. I liked the white sauce a lot; it was really good. I had the falafel (gyro) platter, with fries and salad. There were 8 of us, and we were happily surprised the food came out quickly. We all enjoyed our food. The only negative, IMO, was the fries were not fresh-cut (my fav). Oh, and a server pronounced gyro wrong. :-( Tip: since they are on a corner of a busy intersection, be careful of drivers cutting through to avoid waiting at the light. The parking lot is not very big, and they share it with another restaurant. During peak hours, I would plan to arrive early or later. read more

I am sitting here enjoying a huge and great tasting lamb shank on a bed of rice, vegetables, home made tomato sauce and as an appetizer I enjoyed half and half dip with pita. The flavor and seasoning are just right. It is a pleasure to taste all of them next to each other on your pallet. The hummus is amazingly gentle and flavorful while the spicy one kicked you just right to give yourself a minute until you want more. I am only on town for one day but this place has to be the best find for Greek food in a long time. I wish I had room for more but the portions are just right to leave you full and with a lasting tasteful impression read more

The young worker was sitting outside as we drove up. He was behind the counter and ready to help us by the time we got out of the car. It's nice to see excellence in restaurant staff. Smiles and good attitudes by both workers inside. I had a regular gyro which was a plentiful portion of meat. It was hot and had very good flavor. I have to say it but they out did our local go to place in Portland. My husband had a beef shawarma platter. The fries were hot and well spiced. The Greek salad had very fresh veggies. We ordered their children's Gyro bowl, fish and chips, and their spicy feta!! We loved their fish and chips, it came with French fries, hummus and spicy feta. My husband loved it, said it was some of the best Greek food he had ever had. Though few critiques, the rice was a bit over cooked, and hummus needed some salt. However what knocked it out of the park... the spicy feta dip. Amazing delicious wonderful we're the top words that came to mind. They offer specials via yelp so definitely order through the yelp app to save a bit of money! We will be back to Yappy Greek! read more

I have years of Greek eating and cooking experience. I know what the food should taste like - this garbage isn't it. Ordered hummus, spanikopita, gyros, and baklava. Order was incomplete so now I have to go back and get the rest of the order - asked before leaving if all of the order was in the bag-guy says yes yes yes! No it was not. The hummus is disgusting, the gyros were terrible, and the baklava is unknown since it was NOT in our bag. This is NOT a true, real, flavorful, good restaurant. Terrible service, terrible food, ridiculous prices. Never again, never would I recommend. Stay away. read more

OMG so good! Do not let the outside fool you, this place is hands down some of the BEST Greek food I've had in a long time. I got a lamb Gyro and the Greek fries, though they'd be better named as Crack Fries because they are that good. A little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with EXCELLENT food. Seriously, it's a teeny, tiny space (seating for MAYBE 38 people), but the food is REALLY good. (Honest!) This is my first time eating here and I'm only in this area once a year, but I'm sure gonna put it on my list for next year! They were out of lamb shank, but the lamb bowl was an excellent substitute. We You order at the counter and pay and they bring the food to your table when it's ready ... which is pretty quick. We eat here once a week and the food is great.. with that I will say we eat the sandwiches mainly. Have not tried the plates or seafood. The chicken shawarma is the best I've had. They offer it in a pita or a warm pressed tortilla. Both great. The falafel in a tortilla is amazing. Fries are very good as well. The friendly service is always appreciated. read more

I always order a chicken Shawarma bowl with as many toppings as I can. I opt for the house sauce as I think it is the best. And I always get extra as one is truly never enough to cover the bowl. I have never dined in, but the food is always warm when I get home and seems to travel really well. Recently, they forgot 2/3 of the sauces for my family's order, so that was a bummer. But luckily, the food is delicious enough that I was able to still enjoy my meal without the sauce. The prices are fantastic for how much food you get. A bowl usually lasts me two meals! I've been a connoisseur of Greek food, and in particular gyros for some time now. I've had a gyro at nearly every Greek eatery in Columbus it seems like, and finally I decided to give the rather unassuming Yappy Greek a try while I was out that direction. The service was excellent. Immediately I felt as though I was in a home. The staff were courteous and professional. My drink never went empty, and they often checked to see if anything was needed. The food itself was par excellence. The gyro, while somewhat unassuming due to its ubiquitous nature was phenomenal. The meat had a nice fat content unlike most other gyros I've had, and the meat had a nice crispy exterior and a great flavor. In lieu of fries or rice that come standard with a gyro and a small salad, I was given a larger salad on their place. Excellent presentation. It came to the table looking better than dishes I've seen at so called upscale eateries. Visually impressive, and delicious as well. Definitely try to support this small establishment so they can continue to stay in business, they certainly deserve it and you owe it to yourself to try it. read more

We decided to try someplace new today, and ended up at Yappy Greek. Though the location is small and not very eye-catching from the outside, the cheerful atmosphere inside and incredible Greek food all but make up for the exterior. Loved the wonderful Greek music playing in the background. And talk about personalized service... WOW! The owner brought us a little hummus to try since it was our first time, and then he even threw in an extra baklava with our dessert order as a surprise! The calamari was perfectly cooked, and nicely presented with various fresh vegetables and creamy dressing. My husband tried the lentil soup (not typically something he likes), and he raved about its amazing flavor from start to finish. He tried the Reuben and Onion Rings while I had a large Greek Salad -- both entrees were just delicious. We're so glad we chose to go at a "slow" time of day (4:00pm), as we had the opportunity to engage in a very pleasant conversation with the owner... such a nice man! Ok folks try this place - you won't be disappointed! this was our first time going tonight, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome while we looked over the menu. I ordered the willies sandwich with sweet potato fries, and this is definitely one of the best Reuben sandwiches I've had. I ordered kids cheeseburgers for my daughters, and here is what they had to say: statement from daughter#1: this food is so good! This is the best food I've had. they have the best cheeseburgers! Statement from daughter#2: this is like a 10,000 out of 10,000 so good the best cheeseburger I have ever had. if I have not tried it I would be missing out a lot. We will definitely be going back and trying other things off the menu I'm particularly interested in the lamb which the gentleman recommended was definitely something to should try. Not happy. Food is good. But I write this to the owner who it does look like reads the reviews. I do enjoy the salads BUT... I bought a Regular gyro salad at $8.99, not their large at $10.99. I asked for no bread and no pepperoncini's but extra onion and tomato. I was charged $2 more. For WHAT? I was also not forewarned. Would you have reduced the price if I didn't ask for extra, as i didn't want bread or peppers? The owner, I believe, did hand me $2 in cash from his pocket and apologized. Now I will ask you as it looks like you do read your reviews, to please discontinue this practice. The 2 Greek family owned restaurants I worked for years ago would not do that because as you know it all evens out at the end of the day. I placed a $55 order through DoorDash last week at 6:30 PM. The order didn't arrive. Called the restaurant that said it was "my problem" (thanks guys, sooo empathic of you, way to go with a customer). Called DoorDash and, while they figured out where the driver was, they gave me the option to get a refund or re-order. Opted to re-order. The restaurant accepted the order. Twice. I actually got 2 emails saying the order was accepted. Then the restaurant called me to confirm we wanted to re-order, I confirmed it. Next thing you know is that after waiting for 1.5 hrs I get an email at 8 PM saying the restaurant has cancelled my order and they're closed. Well....YOU COULD HAVE NOT ACCEPTED IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH A RESTAURANT, I WILL NEVER GO THERE. GOOD LUCK! read more

The food was delicious! I would highly recommend. I ordered the large #1 Greek gyro combo which comes with fries and a drink for $7.99. I thought the portion size was above adequate, and I have a fairly large appetite. I inquired what the most popular meals ordered were and the owner made some suggestions for next time. He actually upgraded my fries to the Greek fries with feta, olives, and banana peppers free of charge, and I honestly was very impressed with the wonderful combination of flavors. I will always get these frie from now on. I thought the gyro was equally as good. Great service, very friendly, professional, and prompt. I'm a long time customer of Yappy Greek I've tried many dishes at the restuarant, and to this day have not once been disappointed or regretted trying any. Hands down the best Greek food I've ever had. I even use to work for a Greek restaurant on Sawmill, this place blows all other Greek restaurants in or around Columbus away. Quality ingredients used, it never tastes reheated, or store bought, tastes fresh everytime! The cook's seem well trained they've always cooked my dishes to the perfect temperature everytime I stop in. This place won't put a hole in your wallet either. Not sure how the food is but I can say the customer service stinks big time. My husband and I went for carry out and the girl behind the counter said she would be right with us. Another girl walked up to the counter and completely ignored us because she was on the phone. The original girl came back to counter and totally ignored my husband and I. Excellent food with excellent service! The atmosphere is pleasant and family-friendly with a very clean and open dining area. Hummus and Spicy Feta was an amazing appetizer served with perfectly cooked Pita. Chicken Shwarma was so colorful and flavorful! Gyro's lamb meat was the best we've ever had. We took our class of 25 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to Yappy Greek. It was a great experience as many of our students had never tried Greek food before. The owner and his staff were more than accommodating and worked fast to get the food served to everyone. All the students enjoyed this new experience. I work nearby so I tried it. The food was great and I LOVE that it's family run. I eat here several times a month now and it never gets old. I have had the gyros, shawarma, and the lamb. The lamb plate was almost too pretty to eat. I have also had the baklava which was also excellent. The menu is quite large and their are always neat dishes to take home in the case.
