Yesterday we celebrated 2 birthdays. Mine and a good friend of mine share the same birthday. I'm pretty sure this is the 4th or 5th time we've done it at the Yard House. This location is always top notch. It's always a large group of us. The food was excellent as usual and the folks are great I only have a picture of my leftover Spicy Jambalaya that I always order. It's the absolute bomb! They also brought both birthday guys ice cream and a dessert pastry. I love going to this place. You want be disappointed. read more

Have been here a few times but my go to is these tacos. Carne asada tacos, vampire style (melted cheese outside the tortilla) I can only eat 2 but you can order 3 as well. Had good flavor. If you don't like "spice" then do not order the rice and beans. I know everyone's levels are different, to me it's not spicy but to eat their own. We did order truffle fries but distribution of the truffle oil was hot or miss. Some fries didn't have any truffle oil where some had a lot. We've had them before at other locations and they tasted different. That would be the only thing off about our meal. Everything was edible so no complaints here. Service this time around was good, waitress was attentive. Even at arrival we were seated right away. We did come mid day. Would return. read more

We were seated immediately. The place is dog friendly in the patio. But we did have our service dogs with us and chose to sit in the patio. The server was nice and kept checking back on us. They share a parking lot with other restaurants in the shoppes at carlsbad. Parking is hard on Fridays and weekends as there are many shoppers and diners. We finally got a parking lot very far from where we were dining. They were very busy on Friday night. And the food and drinks took pretty long to come. We ordered a cadillac margarita and a strawberry mule. The drinks were pretty good, but took some time to come. Much longer than expected. Then my husband ordered an 8oz steak with a salad. And I ordered a kurobata pork burger with fries. We had to wave our server down to check ok our status of our salads and food. The food took pretty long to coke out. Salad was fresh. My husband's steak was good. His carrots came out cold. The asparagus and mash were also good for him. My burger was lukewarm, and so were my fries. The sauce on the bread caused the bottom layer to be soggy. The brioche bun was also just a tad bit cooler than expected. There were a lot of other patrons thay night and it was a little noisy as expected. What we didn't appreciate was that the other patrons got up from their table and just kind of hung around our table chatting. It wasn't cool to sit down at our table and basically watch human butts. What a fun experience! I've been to two Yard House, one here in Carlsbad, CA and another in Arundel Mills, MD. The one here in Cali is great in my opinion. The service is very inviting, the staff makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. I came here twice with a couple of friends and each time was honestly a great experience. The first time, I've ordered the Asian shrimp spicy noodles and fresh cheese curds as an appetizer. Delicious! The second time I came here, I ordered the fish and chips. And my friend and I shared the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer, both so good! Even the left overs were very good. The ambiance is upbeat and lively. We love Yard House but had a bad experience. It was Sunday night and the place was a little quieter than usual. We started with a great server who was all over getting drinks, letting us peruse the menu, etc. She had to go on break, so another one took over. It seemed like we were not that important: she took the order then we didn't see her or anyone for a very long time. No asking for additional beverages, not asking if we needed water...crickets. We saw others getting their food and they had placed their orders long after ours. So we finally caught the eye of the replacement server and as she turned to flag the expeditor, our food came. It had obviously been under a warmer for quite a while, but we didn't make a fuss. Too long and too little attention. The last thing? They now pile the beans on top of the rice and that is not how we like it. Sometimes we don't want one or the other, but this was mixed together. It was disappointing, but we will go again to give it another chance. read more

love yardies till the end of our days. We have been trying to slowly (very slowly lol) work through the menu bc they have such a variety of choices and we have never had anything bad. No matter the location, the service is good as well as the atmosphere. Happy hour is truly the best deal considering most appetizers and drinks are on the menu. Their regular menu is also extremely fair in price and for the portion you're getting it's amazing. The appetizers are to die for but make sure you leave room for your entree The vibe is classic rock sports and great beer, but majorly elevated. Family friendly and can comfortably compensate for large parties but i would call ahead to make sure. everyone is always very nice and understand the menu perfectly. Food always comes out very fast and it never misses the mark. parking and location is at the carlsbad mall which leads for shopping and walking before or after meal time. Obviously the parking situation can vary based on the time of year considering it's by the mall, but we have never waited more than 5-10mimutes max. One of the few places open late at night, especially if you just saw a movie that ended after 9:30 pm. The other Love the cheese curds here. You get quite a few and it comes w/2 dipping sauces. Our server was Roxy and she did a great job of keeping the drinks coming, taking our order quickly, & checking to see if we needed anything. It was nice that as the food was finished in the kitchen, they sent whoever was handy to deliver it, instead of letting it cool. I'm very impressed! Although Yard House is a chain, the quality of the dining experience is great! Being in an indoor mall, the location of this Yard House is very convenient for shopping and/or activities afterwards. There's also an abundance of parking, so no issue there! My party of three entered for Happy Hour, and we were promptly seated. The atmosphere is rather loud, but it's vibrant with conversation and buzzing with people. It's very casual here. Our waitress took our orders quickly, and the food arrived not too long after. Each table is equipped with a mini iPad for ordering, calling your waiter, and/or playing games. Be careful! If you play games, you'll have to pay a ridiculous $2.99 fee. I accidentally clicked this option, but our waitress was very understanding and removed the fee from our bill. It seems like this kind of mistake happens a lot! Nonetheless, I was thankful for the amazing service. I was very pleased with the selection of items on their Happy Hour menu, as many places are very limited. However, Yard House has an extensive list, so we got to try a lot of dishes for a very reasonable price. Here is a breakdown of the different items we ordered: Salad with salmon (regular menu item): Just okay. I wouldn't get the salmon again, maybe the shrimp? It's a pretty basic salad, and the carrots are raw and unseasoned. The blue cheese was good though. We got the dressing on the side. Probably my least favorite of all the things we got. Chicken tenders and parmesean fries: Super good! The parmesan fries are so flavorful, I probably could've eaten a whole bowl of these by myself. It's probably best I had to share. That being said, you get a good amount of fries! The chicken was cooked perfectly, as the tenders were crunchy and flavorful. My favorite thing we got! Definitely recommend. Chicken lettuce wraps: Also good! Although they were a little salty, it was a great choice. I liked the peanut sauce that came with it. The lettuce they use were very cute and perfect for making wraps. We actually ran out of lettuce, and they gave us more for free! Amazing service!! Ahi sashimi: I didn't personally try this dish, but the rest of my party did, and they loved it, so...! Overall, my experience at Yard House was amazing! I'm honesty blown away by the service here. Meh... Had this been my only YH experience, I'd never come back... but most of my Thursday night meals when I was in college were after 10PM and the YH near me was open late so I know then very well! I am unclear when attendants were turned into tablets and even ordering a beer is a chore. We had a big party with three little kids. We asked which of the sauces for the chicken were not spicy and they didn't seem to know what spicy means.... So that turned into a thing... But the biggest let down was the onion ring tower: if you are not aware, this is a stack of onion rings that is topped with graded parmesan and rosemary... at this YH location it was... well... plain onion rings... we ordered additional sauces so it was okay... Finally, the pizza... what happened!?!?!? The Margherita toppings weren't properly placed and the pizza was served lukewarm... Since we had starving kids and our attendant was on their lunch break, there wasn't anything to do but pay on the tablet and walk out... YH, please do better! read more

Been here for happy hour a couple times. It's really affordable, they have plenty of appetizers and even the pizzas - all 1/2 off. We got a couple drinks, an appetizer and a pizza - the bill was $22. Not bad! The waiters were keenly observant the entire time we were there. The noise level was doable, not too loud for us to be able to talk, yet not awkwardly quiet. It's really a huge place, having comfortable seating indoors as well as a covered patio outside. The ceilings are high so it's nice and airy inside. The food was great each time I've been too. We stopped in for some alcoholic drinks to celebrate our friend's new tattoo. The drinks were pretty good. As for food, we ended up getting the Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel and the Sweet Potato Fries (which i forgot to get a photo of! Oops!). Those were pretty good as well! As a Yard House aficionado, I make it a point to stop by whenever I see one. This location in San Diego was perfect for killing some time after work while waiting for traffic to die down. The restaurant is super clean, spacious, and conveniently located around the corner from Dave & Buster's. I happened to come during Happy Hour, which is always a great way to save some money, and I highly recommend it--Yard House has one of the best Happy Hour food selections around! Currently, I'm not drinking alcohol, and while they have an impressive variety of Happy Hour drinks, it was a bit disappointing that they didn't offer any non-alcoholic beer options as part of it. It would be great to see non-alcoholic choices included for those of us opting out of alcohol but still wanting to enjoy the full Happy Hour experience. That said, I do appreciate their regular selection of non-alcoholic beers, which is better than most restaurants.
