The ambience is a little busy, but that's to be expected in a major metropolitan area so not ideal for a romantic date but great for a night out with a group or just a good meal. The cocktail was cutesy but that salad really blew me away I'm still thinking about it. Throughout the night I was super impressed with service and that I didn't hear of any wrong orders or delays. The smoked old fashioned was delicious. The Old 43 was interesting but came across as fruity despite having Woodford bourbon. I enjoyed the guacamole and chips as well as the pretzel and beer cheese. For my dinner I chose the BLT. Huge! Almost too much, making it hard to eat graciously in front of others. Plenty of fries on the side. Overall, a huge menu and I would guess anyone could find something enjoy. Wow. I never write reviews. I had the weirdest experience at yardhouse. I had gone there the night before, wanted food it was about a 15 minute walk. Known territories, have been to many locations in multiple cities. I sat down ordered my usual beverage, an appetizer and a dinner. Easy $90 bill at this location. I was half way through the beer, and some guy dropping off yhe food was extremely dude while dropping it off. Yes, I understand it.is race weekend in INDY. The bar tender explained he had a rough 48 hrs. But I was so turned off I just refused the food. I get but man, I was hungry not many places open. The waiter was kind and a very sweet waitress came and told me I was very pretty so that made my evening. We ordered truffle fries as an appetizer and they came out cold, not lukewarm but cold. I ordered Cilantro Lime Chicken and the chicken was really good but the Cauliflower rice quinoa mixture side was burnt and put a bitter taste in my mouth. My Husband has the BBQ Chicken Salad. We asked the waiter if the pinto beans were cooked with pork and he checked with the kitchen and confirmed they were so we had them removed. The salad was good. Once seated, our server came over pretty quickly and took our drink order and brought us water. We then put our order in. It took a while for our order to arrive, but keep in mind that the restaurant was super crowded. To accommodate us, our server gave us complimentary guacamole and chips. If you like beer, then Yard House is the place to go. They have a LOT of beer on tap and they always seem to have my favorite on tap. That's the Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen. If you're a wheat beer fan, then this is a must try. They also had about 6 other wheat beers from which to choose. They have local stuff as well as stuff from all over the world. I did not have food at this location, but saw some others at the bar eating and it looked as good as other locations I have eaten at. I'd probably recommend for dining and beering. It was pretty close to the convention center and right around the corner from St. Elmo's Steakhouse. The bartender was friendly and helpful, but did last call about 45 minutes before closing which was odd. It was very busy, so we put our name on the list, went to have a beer at a nearby brewery (Goodwood Indy - see previous post) and were texted that our table was ready about an hour later. We each ordered a flight (see pictures) to get started and I was honestly a little underwhelmed with the House Six Pack (inhouse options). For my palate, the beers were all too light and bland - coming across as watery, with little body or character. They were actually my least favorite of a number of new beers that we sampled downtown that evening (didn't have to drive, so enjoyed a few beers). I wish I had ordered my own and would have chosen some of the heavier / more unique beers, as I assume this flight was set up for more of a mass market preference. For our meals, my son ordered the 3 Taco Combo (see picture) and I ordered the Sesame Crusted Ahi (see picture). We shared bites with each other and both of us thought both plates were delicious - we would highly recommend both! The salmon was prepared well and the crusted sesame coat was a nice complement to the soft inner flesh. The tacos were seasoned well, moist and tasty! Our server had great knowledge of the drink menu and made relevant suggestions on food pairing with our flights as well! I'm not a beer drinker, only a cider drinker, so I was hoping for more cider options, but our server had great suggestions for more of a fruity beer as compensation! Food was amazing!
