I went to Yard House once and thought it was really nice that they comped a meal for a friend who had to wait an extra 5 minutes for his meal. However, this time when I went, I got a glass of water that had lipstick on the side of it. I noticed it after taking a sip and tasting a weird fruity taste. I TASTED ANOTHER PERSON'S LIPSTICK. I've never felt more disgusted in a restaurant. I told the waitress and all she said was "well that's gross." And my meal wasn't comped. Absolutely revolting. read more

Went to this restaurant during March Madness so the wait time was extremely long as expected. They have a nice waiting area and you can order drinks while waiting. We went during happy hour but was told they shortened their happy hour period that day. Happy hour usually runs till six, and we got there at 4:30pm. That was a bit annoying, but then again they had to capitalize on the amount of crowd that they received that day, so it was understandable, but still annoying. The space is huge and nicely laid out. I ordered the mushroom lettuce wrap which I enjoyed very much. It was served deconstructed in a wonton shell on a bed of shredded red cabbage with the lettuce on the side, and two different dressings/sauces. I didn't use the dressings/sauces because the mushrooms were cooked in a sauce that is delicious! I went back a second time about two weeks later since my first experience went well. The wait time was shorter, but still long (40mins.) for a person who just finished a barre workout and was starving! I ordered the same thing. The only difference was that the shell was more of a hard taco shell (I prefer the crispy bubbly wonton shell) and the mushroom sauce was a bit salty but not too bad that I couldn't enjoy it. Circle city mall parking is across the street which makes parking easy. I will be revisiting the restaurant to try other items on the menu, especially the chicken wings!! read more

Great addition to downtown (Even though it is another chain.) The menu is large, you should be able to find something you'll like. We had a large group and were lucky enough to have two incredible servers - very charismatic and helpful all night. Cocktail choices are great too if you're like me and don't just want a beer. I recommend the Pineapple Express. Wound up getting the lobster, crab, and artichoke dip - highly recommend that as well. One of the servers suggested getting the extra (third) taco but especially after an appetizer the two were plenty. Vampire tacos are great, but they've got a little kick to them so I'd steer away if you're not looking for anything spicy. Server really didn't care and had a bit of an attitude. I've never had such a simple order reach the depths of hell. I've been here a few times and the extensiveness of the food and drink menu is always impressive. They have two happy hours for drinks and food Sunday thru Wednesday, one is late night which is very convenient. The food is always a tad above average, and the relaxing ambience of the restaurant is nice. I've had the California Roll, Nashville Chicken, Ahi Sashimi and a few of the happy hour deal items. All were pretty good. I recommend Yard House for it's long list of options, happy hours and reasonable pricing. P.S. Two questions: how long does it take to create a "button" for something you have been serving for over a month? Good food. Not so good service. To be sure that you do not receive the same type of service that I did, you should make sure to not to sit in Drew's section. Apparently, he is incapable of handling a large, busy crowd. I do not blame him entirely. It is the start of the football season and a Thursday night Pre-Season Colts game. Management should have staffed accordingly. This restaurant is huge and welcoming for large groups. There were an over abundance of tvs that made me think "Sports Bar" but the decor and lighting seemed more like an intimate setting. Did not seem to mesh well. I went with a group of friends during Devour Downtown. Their menu is a bit overwhelming with pages and pages of menu items starting with snacks, appetizers, soups and salads and entree salads. All of those are pretty long lists to sort through before you can even get to the entrees. Luckily with Devour Downtown, I got a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. I got Truffle fries, Mac and cheese that included chicken and bacon (OMG!) and peach apple cobbler that was just ok. I think it was the crust that made it mediocre. All in all it was an ok time. Like I said before, the service was not good at all. Our server was distracted with a larger group majority of the time and we found ourselves reaching out to others for assistance. We always enjoy a trip to Yard House. The bar is spacious as is the restaurant so we usually don't have to wait. They have many great beers on tap and the food is always delicious. There is also a good mix of food available so something for everyone. There's a menu section devoted to vegetarian selections. I haven't tried any of those but I know many people look for that option. Several entree salads, burgers, pizza, soups, seafood and steaks to choose from. They have a Vampire Taco on the menu which is a taco wrapped in a cheese tortilla. You can actually order any of the tacos on the menu "vampire style" if that sounds good to you. Many of the appetizers are large enough to to be an entree for me. The truffle fries are addictive! They have a happy hour menu M-F 3-6 P.M. and a late night happy hour Sun-Wed 10 P.M. to close. The select items are $5-$8. Everything we have tried has been delicious. My favorite is the Poke Stack or Poke Nachos. Vampire tacos are also one of my favorites. I think Yard House is still trying to work out its kinks. Service hasn't been up to the level I was expecting. The first time I ate here was right before NCAA March Madness. I liked the atmosphere and discovered my love of Dogfish Head's Namaste. I ended up trying the Black Truffle Cheeseburger. It was pretty good, but not exactly "blow your mind" amazing. The second time I came back, it was PACKED. It was understandable given the Final Four festivities. I give them props for doing a good job and getting people through the door quickly. Unfortunately, it was standing room only. We were lucky to have friends that had a table already. I had to dock a couple stars because I've had to wait SO LONG to be served at the bar. Once it was my turn, what do they tell me? "Sorry, we're out of that draft....That one too." Also, the price of the beers kinda hurts the wallet. What attracted me to this restaurant was their Gardein menu. It is larger than I expected it to be, offering many meatless options. The buffalo wings- with housemade ranch- are my favorite. My friend and I had dinner on a slow evening; we tried four different cocktails all of which were rich in flavor with a gorgeous presentation. The hostesses, on the other hand, could be more attentive. Sometimes it seems that they are more concerned with personal conversations than greeting the people who walk in. I will add however that they always say "have a nice day" as you exit. One of the bussers, I didn't catch her name, overheard that we requested a section with a specific server and she took it upon herself to look for and wipe down a table for us. I have had pleasant experiences with all of my servers. They are welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable with the menu, and professional. A food runner had brought us our entre before our appetizers. The manager saw what happened and personally came to our table to apologize and took the appetizers off our bill. We weren't upset about the mistake at all(our food came out warm and delicious) and we let her know we were happy to pay, but she insisted on it. It was a very nice and personal touch. I ate here on the day it opened. The staff was very friendly. I had the tacos with beans and rice. I also had the clam chowder. Everything was good but under seasoned. We had to add salt to everything. My daughter had the vodka shrimp, which she really enjoyed. We also tried the Bahn mi with pork belly sandwich. It was tough and under seasoned. The appetizer, ahi poke stack, was good but not amazing. Beer prices were much higher than the average local market price. Food prices were above average as well. All in all a decent experience but too pricey for the quality offered. UPDATE: I decided to give it another try. I ordered a Surf and Turf burger with lobster and Swiss. I also got the clam chowder again and truffle fries. The fries came out cold but they brought me another order of hot ones. They were good, as was the soup. The burger cost $14 but was quite mediocre. It lacked flavor in the meat itself. I ordered it medium rare but I'm sure it was almost well done. It could have benefitted from some salt. BRU or a Punch has much better burgers. Rating stays a 3 because the service was great with a friendly staff. read more

We showed up with a group of 8 and told it would be over an hour wait, or they could seat us in 2 groups of 4 in about 20 minutes. When shown our booths, we would told that, even though there were two back to back that were empty, the second both wasn't in their section and we could not sit together. Our food was ok - what I expect from my yardhouse experience back home. We had burgers and fries. The service was what surprised me. After taking our drink order it was about 10 minutes for the server to bring our drinks and take our food order. It was then about 45 minutes later that our food arrived. 45 minutes for burgers and fries. At the 20 minute mark we inquired about our food and was told 5-10 more minutes. While it was busy when we first arrived - the place was dying down as we waited for our food. We splurged on the dessert trio, which was also fantastic. The menu selection is awesome, several reasonably priced options (especially for lunch and happy hour appetizers). I know that it seems silly to rate a chain on Yelp, especially when there is no shortage of great, independent restaurants downtown. Still, I'll say that when it comes to downtown dining near the mall and major hotels and sports venues, Yard House is a favorite of mine. So much so that I ate there two nights in a row this week. The ambiance is dark yet inviting. The menu has lots of upscale options that you won't find at most "brewery restaurants" -- sure, you can get a burger or wings, but you can also get a Korean style ribeye, lobster garlic noodles (they were great), and my favorite...poke nachos...ahi tuna slices with fresh jalapeños and savory truffle oil on top of wonton chips. Servers are attentive (both nights I had Tony), but there are also tabletop kiosks if you want to add another martini to your bill without waiting on your server to swing back around. I would not have normally selected Yard House as restaurant option, but we had a gift card to use up. Yard House is a massive upscale-looking sports bar, with tvs plopped all over the place in a darkly-lit environment. The menu is also massive, with "global" inspirations mixed in with standard burger & pub options (i.e. "would you like some edamame & lumpia with your chicken nachos & wings?"?. Although I didn't have high expectations, I really enjoyed my medium-rare lamb burger. It was perfectly cooked and well-paired with feta cream cheese, caramelized onions, arugula, and jalapeño-shallot relish. The garlic fries were okay too, although I probably unfairly compared to them to the gold standard garlic fries from the former Boogie Burger (RIP). My partner had the BBQ Chicken Salad, a south-of-the-border style salad with loads of ingredients...and almost twice as many calories as my lamb burger. Yard House is one of those chains with massive portions and eye-dropping calories counts, if you care about those things. The beer menu was fairly large with diverse styles offered; I would have liked if more sour/funky beers were available, but understand that those are not popular sellers. Service was friendly, but a little frazzled (only due it being around the time the delayed Indy 500 broadcast was being shown). Yard House's prices were more expensive than expected, probably to compensate for the downtown location and for tourists who don't know any better. I'd probably go back to Yard House to catch a college basketball game and order that lamb burger again, but would not visit again otherwise...unless another gift card came our way. read more

My wife and I visited Yard House located in the Circle Centre area in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana for a weekday lunch. This large restaurant was extremely busy with downtown workers and attendees to a national firefighter's conference. I chose two Korean Street Tacos, grilled beef short rib and pork belly. The short rib taco included spicy papaya, sriracha aioli, and chili threads and the pork belly taco had radish kimchi, black & white sesame seeds and chili threads. Both tacos were excellent! The short rib was a little spicy with deep favor, and the pork belly was a little fatty with equally great flavor. Shoestring fries are always a favorite of mine and these lived up to my expectations. My wife chose the BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger. Besides the obvious, it also came slathered with BBQ sauce and garlic aioli. Dora here. This burger was giant and juicy and full of flavor! Yum! Just wish the iced tea was normal, not fruity, and the service, speedier. We arrived around 12:30 and were seated immediately in the packed large restaurant, but our food seemed to take forever to come out. Maybe because I was starving? :) Even so, it was worth the wait. Great food and excellent beer selection! Ive been wanting to visit for awhile and finally made it downtown! We ordered the calamari, blue crab cakes, Nashville hot chicken sandwich, truffle fries, vampire taco and garlic mashed potatoes. The only constructive criticism I would give is that the breading on the calamari could use a bit more salt, however, that being said it was still very delicious, great texture and flavor and was perfectly paired with jalapeño tarter sauce and house made marinara. The blue crab cakes came with a mango(?) salsa and paired together was mouthwateringly delicious! The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich had an excellent sweet heat that complimented the cole slaw (or "cold slaw" as mom would say) which comes on the sandwich. Truffle fries were crispy and flavorful and the pork on the vampire taco was sooooo flavorful! We also tried the Belgium six pack which came with some very delicious (and strong) beer samples!
