Cute patio, friendly servers, more beer than god, and yes its a chain I tend to go to the popular places at the unpopular times - like 11:30 on a weekday for lunch. I went with the soup/salad and sandwich lunch special. The turkey melt and the ceasar salad. Turkey melt was tasty, the salad was as expected and the beer. One of their wheat selections was yummy for my tummy! It's a chain with the main hi-lite being beer. They do that well. Chicken lettuce wrap is so goood. Hot chicken, mushroom mixture of some sort and fresh cold lettuce is a big win. I like how they give you three different sauces to dip in. The onion tower is okay but I think they overdid the batter. Service is average. I had a waitress who carded all three of us even though only one person ordered a drink. It was kinda excessive but I'm all for preventing the little children from consuming alcohol. The ironic part is that she kinda struggled with the math on the ages. I used to live about 7 minutes away, and would make it out to happy hour once a week (at the minimum). Yes, I know, a bit excessive, but the prices are worth it, there are always games broadcasting on the televisions, and there's (almost) never ever a wait. I love the selection of beer here..LOVE it. (much better than it's Pasadena and Fashion Island counterparts) The food (happy hour) is good and worth it. The service is fast and friendly. Only con? I been here a few times now, and Im giving it a three stars for being good but not the greatest. I like their selection of beers, and their sliders but is not always consistent. I ordered a french onion soup which was pretty salty, but my greek salad, sliders and hummus with pita was fine. They made a mistake and gave us pita instead of flat bread. If they were more consistent then Id be a happy camper. Sometimes yard house is great, sometimes its not. It is pretty crowded, and it is pretty late so its somewhat understandable. I'm going to preface this review with stating that before my most recent visit, I hadn't dined at the Yard House in around 2 years. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegan and vegetarian options that they offer. I went with my man and we ordered tofu lettuce wraps with mushrooms. They came with 3 different dipping sauces (peanut, spicy, and sweet) and they were all delicious. The lettuce was the perfect vehicle for holding all of these ingredients. Afterwards, we ordered a barbecue chicken pizza. The pizza made me realize how much more smoked gouda cheese that I need to consume. That's pretty much the best cheese ever. The chicken was juicy too, and the barbecue sauce that they used went very well with the gouda and the chicken. The waiter was nice and attentive, and the food was great. We came here with 2 friends for an early happy hour at 3pm. Food was good as always, got the nachos, those are great, enough for 2 to share, some Spinach and cheese dip, hot wings and lettuce wraps. Their Hefeweisen beer is good, and my wife liked her Lemon drop. Everything was cool and the service was great, except that we waited like half an hour for the food and also quite long to get the check. In their defense it was 4th Of July and maybe the kitchen was short staffed and the manager had to approve some gift certificates we had. read more

We came here to have a sit-down place for food and beer at Irvine spectrum, and Yard House didn't disappoint. I tried a 6-pack sampler (traditional) for roughly $10 and I really enjoyed it. We also had calamari (I've had better ones for sure. it is odd they served this with a side of rice as an appetizer), and also a lamb burger that came with a side of french fries. Our waiter was nice enough to tell us that we could pay a dollar extra to change that to sweet potato fries. We did that and we enjoyed both the burger and the fries. There are usually people in their late 20's or 30's here with their friends grabbing drinks or big groups of high school/ middle school kids. Service is pretty slow because there are usually a lot of people, but staff is very nice and manages to pull through after serving everyone. Since yard house is a chain restaurant, so if you have been to the one in Mass, then it will taste pretty much the same. If you have never tried Yard House, I encourage you to try it! I love all the yardhouses and and have become quite familiar with the Brea happy hour. This one in the Spectrum seems much larger and had some natural lighting which makes it much more friendly. The patio is smaller compared to the others but nobody seems to mind. I come to Yardhouse and order the same beer every single time. SLO Blueberry Ale. I miss living on the central coast, and this beer always lets me reminisce about good life out of the crazyness of LA/OC. The food is all pretty good and the shrimp or mushroom lettuce wraps is the best. It comes with 3 dipping sauce all with a great level of spice. The ahi salad has a nice dressing and goes great with a light beer. Waiters and bartenders are always very knowledgable about the beer selection and will give a recommendation if asked. Great place to relax after work and grab a pint or two. It is a little on the loud side for kids. There also never seems to be room at the bar when it is crowded and it doesn't have a natural place to stand outside the bar leaving you feeling awkard holding a beer between people seated at bars and tables. read more

We packed a booth and were taken care of by Kim. Happy hour was well under way, and I nursed my pomegranate martini. Everyone else went the beer route. We were pleased with the apps, especially the moo shu egg rolls with chicken and chili cream cheese. Also ordered the spinach cheese dip as well as the lobster, crab, and artichoke dip. I even tried a buffalo wing, much to everyone's surprise. The booths held four spaciously, six comfortably, and eight snug. The best part? Been here twice just for drinks. They're pretty darn good. Interior: Pretty interesting. You can see the wall of different kegs of drinks and hoses that runs from that separate room through the ceiling and down to the bar. The seats are VERY big and very comfy. Lots of TVs to catch the games =) Quality: It's pretty good. I get the Fruit Lamblac (sp?) and the Pear Ale. Both are sweet and refreshing. Good alcohol content too. Had the dessert sampler too, with lemon meringue pie, peach cobbler, and I believe chocolate lava cake? I don't remember which three specifically, but it was tastey. Service: Very friendly. We tried the FRIED CALAMARI- served with spicy tomato and tartar sauce and the SPINACH CHEESE DIP- baked with feta, jack, parmesan and cream cheese served with crispy flat bread. Both were great, we also shared the BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA- mozzarella, cilantro, red onion and smoked gouda with bbq sauce and the PEPPERONI & MUSHROOM PIZZA- fresh tomato sauce, crimini mushrooms and mozzarella. I have gone to almost all Yard Houses located in OC (brea, irvine, newport) and they are all the same. I have gone here since high school and it is with deep regret that I have to inform you that I dont find this place THAT amazing. Unfortunately, I havent experienced their happy hour but it is definitely on my to-do list! Lets get down to business! Turkey Burger: Turkey patty is insanely salty. I like how its house made but they need to let go on the salt just a bit. Otherwise, it would be a great burger hawaiian burger: had a few bites and its okay! Upgrading my previous review: Adding 1 star. We stopped by here during the day on a weekend with one goal in mind: Get drunk. And then go shopping. Thanks to their beer samplers, we did just that. They offer two samplers: a seasonal Belgian sampler of six beers (3.5oz each) and a traditional sampler of six beers (5oz each). We ordered both for a total of 51oz of beer. On an empty stomach the buzz came on quickly so I ordered a Spicy Tuna appetizer. It's not really a roll, but more of a "stack". It hit the spot. Sat outside on the patio on a beautiful Saturday night. This was my first time at the Yard House, so the man and I had a bunch of different items and shared. He started with a Escalade margarita, while I had a glass of the Cupcake Sav Blanc. For apps, he had the California roll while I ordered the Moo Shu egg rolls. Both were very good, though the California roll came out just as the waiter said, in the shape of a hockey puck! I highly recommend the moo shu egg rolls. Yum! The House Ranch Salad was different and actually really good. Fresh corn was a great addition. For entrees, the man had the stacked enchiladas while I had the spicy chicken sandwich. The man said the enchiladas were filling and really good, he would get them again. My sandwich was really good and the spices were on point. This place is solid. You have your HUGE variety of awesome beers to choose from, which is what I like, the food is up to par, not your typical chain restaurant food, and service is pretty good. I can't recommend a better beer over the other because everyone has their particular taste. However if you want something nice and dark and heavy, the Maredsous 8 is nice. Yard House is just one of the staples in my life. You can always get quality food and great beer anytime/anywhere. Although it's a chain restaurant, they do everything well. Not to mention that it was the first restaurant my wife and I went on our first date. I have eaten mostly everything they serve, so i will highlight my favorites below. Note everything is tasty here. Food Items Recommended: Ahi Poke Bowl (Snack)- Marinated raw ahi and avocado with carrots, daikon radish, macadamia nuts and wontons. This dish is on the snack menu, so it is a smaller portion, but it's so amazingly executed and tastes as good as a lot of japanese restaurant versions. Highly recommended. Spicy Tuna Roll- Seared rare ahi, avocado, edamame, cucumber with wasabi soy sauce. This is not a typical roll like at sushi places. It comes in the shape of a mound with everything mixed in. It is phenomenal and has the right amount of heat from the wasabi. Highly recommended. Mac and Cheese- Chicken breast, applewood bacon, wild mushrooms, cheddar, parmesan, campanella pasta and truffle oil. As you may or may not know by now, i love mac and cheese and i believe that Yard House is up there with the best of them. If i am ever in the mood, this is where i come to get a quick fix. I typically go to this place for appetizers and drinks during happy hour. I ended up here for lunch a couple weeks ago. I remember the burger being pretty good so I ordered one of those. I was a little bit disappointed. Out of the three burgers on our table, none of them seemed to be cooked right. I also ordered the wheat option for my bun. I thought I was going to get a wheat bun and not sliced of wheat bread. maybe I missed that clarification in the menu. I think i will stick to happy hour here, or just avoid the burger. read more

I went here today with a group of about 12 people. I was looking forward to it because of their gigantic list of draft beers. Getting in there, it was noisy as heck but that can be expected seeing that the centerpiece is a big bar. We were there for happy hour so why not spend less and get more? Half off appetizers and a couple dollars off house martinis and beers. So I went with the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, not recognizing many of the other brews. When it came the first thing I noticed was that the glass was not chilled. The beer got lukewarm quicker than I would have liked. I noticed that all their prices were on a bit of the high side ranging from 10 dollars a burger to high 20s for other things. I ordered the sliders (5.95) with bernaise sauce and also had a taste of the BBQ chicken pizza. I have made better sliders, as these were very bland and the meat itself seems like it was just slabs of unmarinated ground beef that wasn't proportioned for the dinner rolls. The only other ingredient on the sliders were fried onions. The bernaise sauce wasn't anything to write home about either. The pizza was like a very bland California Pizza Kitchen pizza. If it wasn't half off it would have been $12 which would definitely not be worth it. I'm not too sure if they had their own brews, but I would have liked to try those if they had some. Onto the service. The waitress didn't seem at all interested, even though it was a table that would give her the automatic gratuity fee...maybe that's why she didn't seem interested. We asked for a check once, waited about 20 minutes as we were in no hurry. Then we asked again and it didn't arrive for another 10 minutes. EDIT: I forgot to give some definite pros about the service though. We had a big party and they have a program where the designated driver gets a free fountain drink. One person had already asked for it. My girlfriend then inquired if she could get one and the waitress said she didn't know but thought it was 1 per group. The guys that own this chain of restaurant know what they're doing. You can always get a good meal and a beer here. They even have a great happy hour special with discounts on appetizers and pints. And the selection of beers is great. It's nice to be able to get a Fuller's or a PBR off of the tap...depending on your mood. A bowl of clam chowder, a poke stack, a couple of beers, and you are happy. No need for an entree when you can order a bunch of appetizers and share all kinds of different tastes. read more

So this is what you do... when there is a NBA game on you drive to Yard house with a buddy, order "The Hawaiian" cooked medium. If you got paid that day then you order the "Miso Chilean Sea Bass." kinda pricey but really really good. Order up a pint of your fave brew, mine is the Slo Blueberry Ale. Eat, watch the game, talk. I'm embarrassed to say it but this place is my Fave restaurant. It doesn't hurt that happy hour consists of the younger, pretty OC Babies, and also the servers aren't bad. not that expensive, great food, great beer... I started my meal with a sweet tart martini. It's blue and it does taste similar to the candy. Oh...quite strong too. Although this may be due to the fact I haven't had anything all day and this was the start of my lunch at 1:30pm. Do you like Fruity Pebbles? Do you like blueberry muffins? If yes, then make sure you try the Leinenkugel. It's delicious! I swear to gosh it tastes like Fruity Pebbles. YUM. I've been to HH many a times since my last review and Yard House is probably my favorite HH... ever. The beers are like $5 and the appetizers are all half off. The poke stack is one of my favs. The tuna is surprisingly fresh and the flavors are amazing. The spicy tuna toll is basically the same thing as the poke stack but still delicious. The calamari is nice and tender. The chicken nachos are huge. The buffalo wings are a-okay. The bernaise sliders are a-okay. The fries that come with are perfectly thin and crispy. All of this paired with a nice glass of Rose Garden (framboise and Hoeegarden) makes me snap my fingers and go "mm mm mm"! read more

I'd say this place gets 3 1/2 stars for their food in general, but 5 stars for their happy hour. Service here is hit or miss, but when you're getting a ton of good food for an extremely low price, it doesn't really matter. I've noticed that the service during regular menu hours seems to be a bit better than service during happy hour, which probably isn't just a coincidence. My favorites here on the happy hour menu are the bearnaise sliders. They're REALLY good. If I could order this as a regular sized burger, I definitely would. The buffalo wings are not bad and the BBQ chicken pizza is okay, but doesn't really compare to California Pizza Kitchen. If you really want pizza & beer, go to BJ's but you'll pay a little more. The only sandwich I really remember liking alot here was the roast beef dip with au jus. I like their fries too, they're the skinny shoestring kind. Their beer selection here is unmatched by any place I can think of. They have so many beers here i've never even heard of, I wouldn't even know where to begin to start trying them. During happy hour they're $3.50-4, so this is probably the best time to come. Good place for a birthday celebration with a large group, too. read more

This Yardhouse has a really large selection of good beer, food and HAPPY HOUR (M-F 3-6pm, Sun-W 10P-close). My favvvvvvorite beer here has got to be Guldendraak. It's dark, and has a high ABV content, and I can't find it at any other Yardhouse! Comes in a goblet only. A MUST try. Hawaiian poke stack is pretty good too, with avocadoes and tons of tuna! read more

This review is only for their happy hour. Of the numerous happy hours I've been to, this place isn't special, but it always delivers a good choice of beers and appetizers for me. There's plenty of TV's all around, which is one of the reasons why I go there. And it helps that most of the people are into the games that are playing, i.e. lakers, college basketball, dodgers, but definitely not cheering for giants or any nor cal teams. Even when it's busy, the waiters do a great job checking in on everyone and refilling waters. For the appetizers, I've tried the: -chicken nachos: huge portion with plenty of toppings -margherita pizza: good portion and pretty good flavor. Doesn't taste cheap & oily -onion rings: just average onion rings. It got nothing on Phil's BBQ onion rings -sliders: Pretty filling actually. Forgot which one we got but had small onion rings, which were flavorful -ahi: Can't really comment because I can't tell what's good ahi -poke/or whatever the sashimi dish with the deep fried chips: mehh skip it; would rather order it at a sushi restaurant -buffalo wings: average wings.
