I love yard house but pretty disappointed with this location and this visit. My boyfriend and I came when it was pretty slow and the service was just bad. The server wasn't very helpful with entree suggestions and took about 15 minutes to refill empty waters. My wine glass wasn't polished (water marks on it) and the salad that I asked for with no cheese, did in fact, come with cheese on it. The fries on my boyfriends order came out cold and the sauce that comes with the entree wasn't there! (Just an empty ramekin). I also asked for ketchup with my fries and did not ever receive it. My boyfriend and I came in with pretty casual clothes on and the guests around us on the patio who were more dressy seemed to receive better service. I would hate to think we were stereotyped but it definitely felt that way. No 22% tip this time yard house! read more

I made this yelp specifically for this review I'm about to leave. My family and I came in Sunday, Mother's Day. Now I used to be in the service industry so I know how it sucks sometimes to work on the holidays you could be spending with your family. But our server Ashley did not make us feel that way at all. She was friendly, prompt and pretty funny too. My wife had a salad with a little too much dressing and she had the salad re made and back on our table in no time. Along with that she sent out a chocolate dessert with the words "cheers to mom!" (My wife loved that). We had Trevor stop in and say hello and he was really friendly as well. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! My friend and I came to this location after a concert on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13th, 2018. We arrived at exactly 11:30pm, knowing that the restaurant is open until midnight according to their website. However, upon arrival, the Host told us that the kitchen had just closed. We had gone their specifically to EAT, not to drink. So when the Host told us the kitchen was closed, but the bar was still open, we asked him if it might be possible for us to still get something - anything - to eat, since in his words, it had JUST closed. The Host stated he would check with the Manager, but in the meantime he would seat us, implying that we would likely be able to get SOMETHING to eat. We told him that we did not want to be seated unless we could get food, so he understood what we wanted. He seated us, and then we sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to our table again. Then a Server came over and asked to take our order. We explained our situation to him, and that we were waiting for the Manager in order to see if we could get some food. The Server disappeared for a minute and then came back to tell us that the Manager was "in the back doing inventory", and that nobody had a key to get into that room, so they had to wait until the Manager came out. Approximately five minutes later the woman who identified herself as the Manager came to our table. By this time it was approximately 11:50pm. We explained that the only reason we came to the restaurant was to get something to eat, and we were waiting for her to see if we could possibly order some food. The Manager apologized and told us that the kitchen was closed (by this time we were pretty sure the answer would be a definite NO). We explained that we had only come for food, so we would be leaving. The Manager offered us each a $10 gift card if we wanted to stay and have a drink, but we explained that we were HUNGRY, so we would be leaving. The Manager then told us that she would give us each a $10 gift card anyway for the next time we decide to visit, which she did. However, we left the restaurant HUNGRY and disappointed, and we sort of felt like we had been lied to in an effort to keep us there. I don't know what the rules are regarding how long the kitchen stays open, however, it would be appreciated that if the kitchen closes early, that YARD HOUSE would post it on their website. On the website it states the kitchen's "LAST CALL" is at 11:30pm. But we were THERE just before 11:30pm - but then we were stalled. I believe that was deliberate. And I'm sorry, I don't care if there's only ONE PERSON in the entire restaurant, it shouldn't be up to anyone to make a decision to close the kitchen early. If the restaurant is open until midnight, they should be serving food until MIDNIGHT. They shouldn't be allowed to close the kitchen before 11:30PM. read more

love Yard House and the food was amazing as per usual, but service at this location was a nightmare. came here during happy hour on a Sunday night to grab just THREE appetizers before a movie (the place was very moderately busy) and it took my boyfriend and I a whole hour to do so due to slow service. took forever for our waitress to even show up and even longer waiting for the bill. she was nice but the place was definitely not nearly busy enough to justify how long it took to receive any type of attention for the two of us sitting in a pretty central area in the restaurant. if you don't mind the slow service, you'll probably be fine here considering the food's still good but I mean cmon guys do better. read more

Wow. Where do I start. My fiancé and I got seated right away which was nice. We put in our orders. A beer, a fried chicken sandwich and a turkey truffle burger (there turkey burgers are made with pieces of carrot in the turkey mix). Normally I ask for my turkey burger to be cooked all the way through but I didn't say that this time around. I figured everyone knows turkey has to be cooked all the way through, I should just relax and not have to mention this. We get the drinks fine and the food arrives. I bite into my burger. My turkey burger was pink. I used my iphone light on it and it showed to be pink. Okaaaaay. I should of said for it to be fully cooked all the way through. We tell the server to take it back and we just want another one that's fully cooked. I even said I normally request it to be fully fully cooked and that I had decided not to mention it and to not comp it on our tab because we are willing to pay. About two minutes later, a young women with blonde hair comes out,a manager, and tells me that the turkey burgers are cooked with carrots and that's probably what's causing the PINK. Are you f'ing serious right now?! Your going to come out and correct your customer by telling them they are basically "over reacting" and that carrots bleed color? Bullshit. Carrots do not bleed ORANGE. My fiancé is livid about this small conversation with this manager. Twenty minutes go by. During this twenty minutes,we request another beer. It never arrives. Finally,the second turkey burger comes out. I think to myself,they can't get this wrong. I cut a little edge off and think "Okay,this should be fine. This looks burnt..." I take a bite and look in and it's EVEN PINKER. We tell the waitress,who never brought us another beer, to bring that manager back out. It takes about ten to fifteen minutes for a manager to come out. During this time I've ripped the burger a little and the pink is now really revealing a red color. I shine my iPhone light on it and it's very very pink basically red. Finally a male manager comes. My fiancé says "No I would like the female manager to come out here so I can talk to her and ask her how these "carrots" have bled in this burger." The male manager says "I am a manager and can take care of this." My fiancé tells him to look at the burger and to explain how CARROTS made this burger pink,basically red,a SECOND time around. My fiancé also mentions how we have been waiting for a second beer for thirty minutes and the waitress had not even come to our table after the second time we asked for our manager. She never brought us our second beer. He comps the entire meal and asks if we want their number in case I get sick. My fiancé said no and offered to pay for what he ate. The manager refused and comped the entire check. NEVER EATING AT YARD HOUSE AGAIN. If your cooks don't know how to properly cook meat, what else aren't they doing properly. End of story. read more

I haven't had a bad experience yet and we go at least once a month for their great HAPPY HOUR prices on food and drinks! the service is always up to par, and the food comes out hot and fresh, even when you have a large party. I must say I am kind of addicted to their sliders and sweet potatoe fries....actually its a dang OBSESSION!! They have an all around great menu, even if you have picky people in your group. the only down side is no matter where you sit in this place, its LOUD!! but I don't mind loud. read more

My friend and I stopped here for lunch before a movie on a weekday. This was my first time at any Yard House and I had heard many good things about it. I'm a fan of beer so I had their "six pack" beer sampler. The waiter was very friendly and brought out the two options for the samplers that week (the sampler selection changes every Tuesday). For lunch, I ordered the (Mac & Cheese)2. It was delicious! They used just the right amount of truffle oil. The chicken breast was not necessary and was the only part of the dish that didn't carry a lot of flavor. Other than that, it wasn't too busy and the service was great! read more

I visited the Yard House on Sunday afternoon at the Irvine Spectrum with my BFF. It was late in the afternoon and we were starving, thankfully since it was an "off" hour there wasn't a wait for a table. While the restaurant had a good number of people dining, it definitely wasn't overly crowded so we were immediately seated. We perused the menu for a few minutes when we were greeted by our server. We decided to start with the Lobster, Crab & Artichoke dip. A warm dip served with a combination of pita slices and tortilla chips. The dip was....OK, but not great. First where was the crab and lobster??? I think there may have been about 2-3 grape sized pieces of lobster in there and I can't recall seeing any crab. Also, you could barely even taste the the lobster or crab. Had we known, we would've saved the couple of bucks and gotten the plain spinach artichoke dip instead (now we know for next time). The dip wasn't really cheesy either. I guess I'm just used to the dip being more ooey gooey cheesy and this one really wasn't. Decent, but far from memorable. For my main entree I decided on another appetizer, the Bearnaise Sliders. A set of four angus beef sliders topped with thinly sliced fried red onions and for mine...cheddar cheese sandwiched between fresh soft rolls. Because these were appetizers I had expected them to be pretty small so I did indulge myself a bit and ate more of the dip than I should have. These sliders were nice sized mini burgers and definitely larger than I had expected! What I loved most? The fried onions! They weren't heavily breaded, in fact I can't recall them being breaded at all...just thinly sliced, fried and crispy adding that perfect sweet onion flavor to the burger. The burgers were served with a generous serving of fries and a slice of pickle. Needless to say I wasn't able to finish my meal and only ate two of the four sliders and less than half of the fries, which was perfect, because the leftovers were perfect for my lunch at work today! The service was good- prompt and friendly. Our drinks were never empty and our food came out quickly and timely. A good experience overall. I don't think I'll be craving to go back but it's definitely not out of the question. read more

Anyone who knows me knows my dedication level to the YH.. LOVE the place!!. .. Food is always consistent, large variety of items to choose from, kitchen is open later than just about any other restaurant in South OC.... and MY major bonus...a gluten free menu. :) I eat here at least once a week and have never become sick (pretty much unheard of when ordering gluten free out) Happy hour is awesome, and service is top notch.....love, love, love YH! Top favs would be the BBQ chix salad, seared ahi sandwich (sans bread, of course) fillet mignon, and the chicken stack. One of the better Yard House restaurants I have experienced in the last 13 years. The clam chowder and spinach dip were very good. My BBQ burger was a little dry but very tasty. Great spot. I couldn't believe all the beer on tap. An amazing selection! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for a reunion with old friends. Here Saturday night. Big crowd, big noise. Best part was the service. Wait staff here gets the idea that the more you sell the bigger your tip so they are very attentive! The Grilled Turkey Sandwich with Jalapeno is very good and spicy. We also had the Ahi Tuna Sandwich which should be called the Houdini Ahi Sandwich because it was so small you couldn't tell if the Tuna had dissapeared or not! I entertain clients for a living and this is where a go at least a few times a week for many years now. The food is good, it is served hot by courteous waiters/waitresses. They are a little expensive and if you come at 11:00am for lunch you can get in and out in an hour. That is very hard to do at the Spectrum. It's very slippery. --Me and my friends have this EU ID, when we try to order beer, waiter will request for the ID, when all of us pull out like 7/8 EU ID's, the waiter have to confirm it with the manager. Instead of invite manager to come over to take a look, they will take all of our ID's to the manager and they'll be gone for a couple of minutes. ID works the same way as passport, you don't want to lost it. And the manager comes to us looked like he works for the ESTA. He will tell one by one" this is okay, it's yous, that's okay...next..." For that moment you will mistake his job with a US custom service. It was odd and the manager never try to apologize for this inconvenience moments, it seems he didn't even try to be nice. And this oddness happens over and over again until the day we find a better beer place to be. We still need to show our ID(everywhere anyway), but it's more gentle and in a polite way. read more

I had the best grilled cheese sandwich here like EVER. The second time around, I tried something from the Gardein Menu. Chicken or beef substitutes made from soy, wheat, pea proteins, vegetables and ancient grains. I ordered the Gardein Orange peel chicken: crispy chicken, baby corn & bok choy in spicy sweet orange glaze with jasmine or brown rice. And MY OH MY I can't tell you how scrumptious it was. The Yard House is a restaurant chain that does it right. It has the professionalism of a large corporation with the service of a private restaurant. My most recent visit to the Yard House was on Father's Day in June 2014. I ordered, what is probably the best grilled cheese sandwich that I have ever had. It was perfect. My son, who is vegan loved the menu. They have an entire section for vegan's. He ordered a soy "chicken" and vegetable dish and he said it was really delicious. This is great for us, because now we have a place to take the family, where my vegan son has many choices. The pricing is around $10.00 - $20.00 for entrees and $6.00 - $10.00 for appetizers. They have around 100 beers on tap. This is a good choice for everyone. read more

YardHouse in the Spectrum is a nice place to go with friends to chill and have a good meal at a reasonable price. Yes, It is a very large and loud restaurant. YardHouse has a huge menu and is a place where almost anyone can find something to eat, even the pickiest eater. I split the Chicken Nachos as an appetizer before the meal with one other person last time I was there and the portion was much bigger than I was expecting. So a heads up that it is probably good size for 3 or 4 people to all have some. I've had the Macaroni and Cheese with Chicken and Bacon bits twice and it was consistently good both times and a filling meal. I would recommend it as something to try. My friend ordered a burger and it was a nice looking burger. This is the type of restaurant that you can just walk right into. You might have to wait a little bit on a busy day, but it probably won't be too bad. Our server last time was just alright, my water was empty for a little bit and I was thirsty before he came back. But he was a nice guy. Bottom line: If it was at the Spectrum shopping I would certainly consider coming back here if I was in the mood for American food. tl;dr: 3 stars because of the loudness, and the fact that I was thirsty mainly. read more
