As someone who used to go here frequently, it is safe to say I will never be returning after my last visit. I went over Thanksgiving break with two of my friends for drinks. All of us are 21, and one friend was visiting from out of state for the holiday. Our waiter took the out of state ID to the back to double check its validity, which was not a problem. The problem occurred when 10 minutes later the manager came to our table with a cop in tow and created a scene. Both were making claims that the ID was fake and that they would take my friend out of the restaurant in handcuffs due to his allegedly fake ID. Upon scanning the ID and realizing it was real, the waiter came back to the table with the drinks. We did not get any sort of apology from management and received no free or discounted drinks after the embarrassing situation that had just occurred. The whole incident was so poorly handled and solidified that I will never return to this establishment due to their incredibly unprofessional manner. read more

Was repeatedly told that our table for two would be ready in 20 minutes. 1.5 hours later we were seated. As soon as we sat down it was oblivious that our waitress wanted us in and out. Kept pressing us to order order order!!!!! I had the swordfish tacos. I should say I had the overly salted tacos. Barley edible and the headache after was not worth it. Third time there. Went for dinner here with friends the other night. It was crowded and we had a bit of a wait but that was okay because we hung out at the bar until our table was ready. We were finally seated and our waitress came over. Honestly, I didn't know if her behavior was the customary behavior required of all Yard House wait staff or she was just in a bad mood and wanted us to know that. She was quite unpleasant. Okay - so we chalked it off to maybe she was stressed because it was crowded. But it seemed every time she came to our table - which by the way she never did unless we flagged her down - she was annoyed. We flagged her down because there was no salt/pepper on the table and we asked when she had a chance, could she get it for us. Eye rolling and heavy sighs - seriously? She was very abrupt and we felt like we were bothering her. She never came around to ask if we wanted anything else.. We were prepared to order dessert but she never gave us the chance. She slammed the check down on the table and said "when you're ready..." and walked away. I guess that was her way of saying no dessert? We dropped a lot of cash at this place and you give us eye rolls and sighs and attitude? The food was okay - certainly good enough that I would have considered giving the place another try but after that experience - no thank you. . read more

My girlfriend and I just went here last night. It was a Saturday night so it was expectedly packed. While we were waiting at the bar, a manager accidentally spilled a drink on my girlfriend's coat. After we told them it was no big deal, he offered to pay the cleaning bill and comped us our dinner and drinks. It was an extremely nice gesture. I ordered a burger with Parmesan cheese fries and they were awesome. My girlfriend ordered fish tacos which I believe was tilapia, and they were delicious. They have a huge selection of beer and alcohols. The good was great. Our server was a very friendly, delightful girl who was very attentive despite it being packed. It's little things like that which make you want to go back and refer this place to friends. Great service, friendly people, great atmosphere. It's a good old place to grab drinks and watch the game (they have a ton of televisions) or to grab a good bite to eat. I highly recommend this place and am going to go back. read more

good beer selection, average food but overpriced

The managers at this restaurant are rude & unprofessional. My group made a reservation for 10 people all of which were of legal age to drink and they wouldn't serve two of the people in our group because they are from Maine. But they served other people in the group that had out of state IDs. The managers claimed because it was because the "blacklight didnt work" on the IDs and it didnt match with their ID book however the IDs were issued less than two months ago. So either their book is off or they just dont have an accurate blacklight. The managers refused to show what was missing on the IDs and failed to even scan the IDs. The two people showed multiple forms of ID and were still denied by the managers. Their attitudes and explanations were both rude and unprofessional. The waitress was nice and the food was good. However, as someone who works in the restaurant industry, I know how this situation should have been handled and the treatment from these managers were enough to make me tell others to avoid this restaurant in the future. I've been coming to this Yard House 2-3 times a month for the past 6 months and my experience Sunday makes me hesitate if I would return. Second time my fiancé and I have come to watch a football game only available with the Sunday Ticket. They have an amazing beer selection and the food is great too, so it was an obvious choice to come here. Checked in the hostess and told her the game we wanted to see and she said they would change whatever TV we were near to the game. Head to the bar while waiting for a table and ask what games will be showing on the TVs around us and are told by 3 different bar staff that the TVs are all predetermined and cannot be changed...we end up getting a table and the hostess tells us the TV will be changed. The pregame show was on for the game that just ended and we had to watch that for a half hour while we waited for the TV to change. Incredibly frustrating coming to Yard House to watch a football game to be told it will be on only to see the highlights from the previous game and wait....Our server Haley was awesome, she got Paul a "manager" to change the TV for us finally. He came over to check out the TV and I thanked him but he was incredibly smug and made us feel like he was doing us a favor. He really had a poor attitude and offered this snarky, sarcastic " I am soooo sorry" which was the icing on the cake for the experience. Haley needs to teach him a thing or two! read more

Went to Yard House Sunday evening... Place was busy not crazy... 10 minute wait for table of four.... Server (August) started out strong... Personable and friendly. We had simple needs... 2 orders of fish and chips... pasta with shrimp and the classic cheeseburger.... August set up up the drinks, took our order.... and that was the last we saw of him until after the manager came over to apologize. Three out of our four meals showed up in a reasonable amount of time... to be fair, all in my party were satisfied with what they got. My burger came about 20 minutes later... no one actually came to the table to check prior... saw August notice I did not have a meal in front of me out of the corner of my eye... Burger showed up 5 minutes after that... Manager appeared shortly later to apologize.... Offered the standard accommodations etc. ... let him know thanks but no thanks... He did take my order off the bill (although I told him not to bother).... But too late, burger was just OK, and too many choices around to go back.... The food here is standard mediocre ... Almost on a par with Cheesecake factory level at best.... And not exactly inexpensive for what you get. Sorry Yard House... I'm not coming back... And will seriously suggest not worth stopping by to anyone who asks.... read more

I have had the pleasure of going to the yard house in Lynnfield many times, with each visit my experiences were more and more pleasurable. However last night for a casual birthday celebration with my husband had a great start, Icy cold draft beers, delicious apps and great meals. Not to mention a wonderful waitress. While waiting for the birthday dessert I ordered for him I went to the ladies room (which was clean). I used the facilities, while washing my hands , I witnessed a female emplyee/server exit the stall and walke past the designated hand washing station. I was appalled by what I saw, not to mention nauseated by this. When I got back to my seat I panic please don't let her be the one to come clear our table and pack our left overs, and better yet keep her from the birthday dessert. THANK GOD she was not the one to come assist our waitress. In a sense I wish I didn't see the disgusting act, it did in deed ruin my visit to the yard house. DISGUSTED that an adult FOOD SERVER could do such a thing or lack there of. I'm sad that I may never be able to go back to the Yard House . It was becoming one of our GO TOO places. read more

I am not usually picky nor having unrealistic expectations. This is the second time that I have come here with a group of people and have spent a lot of money, including tonight. The pace is fun, busy, good beer selection, but the reason I give it one star is the poor quality of service... the bartenders, all of the ones that I have been served by are cocky, unfriendly and make you feel like you are in a production line. I do understand the business component of it, the fact that they are busy, but so are a number of other establishments in the area... the way I was treated was absolutely embarrassing and completely unprofessional and abrasive. I am not go no to get into the details, but if yo are looking for a beer with I customer etiquette, this is your place. If you are looking for something more, there are a number of establishments in the proximity that can overshadow the client experience that you get at the yard house... I guess their customer service is about as limited as the latter part of their name.... yard.... and even that is pushing it. May be the Darden restaurants parent company may pay some attention... I would Never go there again. But feel free to judge for yourself. read more

Ok so I went to the yard house on a Saturday night. The wait was an hour but it was ok because we walked around the new mall. We got in and ordered a beer an app of garlic noodles. We also ordered a burger and a starter soup. Our app was really good and then we got our soups. I got French onion my wife got chowder. As we were eating our soup the buglers came. I hate that cause I had to rush to eat my soup. My burger was cold and the fries were soggy. My wife got Korean beef tacos witch were good. My burger was over cooked and tasted like nothing. Our waitress was nowhere to be found mabey because we didn't order huge yard classes of beer cause she took care of everyone else but us. When we finally got her my wife ordered a dessert witch took a half hour to get. She told us that it was sitting in the window for a while. When we left she messed the bill up so we had to pay more for the soggy dessert. Food ok but not worth a two hour wait. If you love beer this is the place for you read more

Had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch here! The menu selection is excellent, but it borders on overwhelming, so please don't add any more to it. My husband and I shared the Hawaiian Poke Stack for an app. The tuna was fresh and dressed nicely, but the pickled veggies could have been pickled longer for a crispier juicier taste. It was a very refreshing way to start the meal. I got the Korean BBQ pork belly tacos for my entree. The tacos were delicious! I would have piled on more of that yummy BBQ sauce. The rice and beans on the side though were mediocre. My husbands' cuban sandwich au jus was very flavorful. The truffle fries are super addictive. The food exceeded my expectations. I was very glad to taste fresh ingredients in a chain restaurant. The service was very attentive and fast. I love that they let you taste the beers before committing to a full size. The service was slow, waitress nice enough but very disorganized, could not even get a napkin until after our food came..also the burger I ordered was good but cold and the bun was stale..really..no one serves stale bread anymore not even McDonalds..this is the second time I have gone, being disappointed with cold expensive food, my husband's soup was tasty but not even lukewarm, same with the coffee for desert, the caramel pudding for desert was a disappointment as well, we only went there because we had a gift certificate, will not be back again, the music is loud, the bar is grossly overcrowded with lines of people, like you would see in a night club...will not be back and I heard the shopping is out of touch with consumers..this is not Hollywood and a lot of people like bargain shopping like Macy's and Old Navy. Reading reviews after dining there.... Ya right. Who is writing these? The owners? A party of five visited on Friday 9-4-15. Place was at 95% capacity. It took 4 minutes to know thus was not going to be good: the menu. Any place that has 150+ choices will be mediocre at best. It was less than that. Without boring people, this Is a chain restaurant and very poorly managed. We had a waitress that took our order, a water boy, a server that delivered drinks and yet another that (eventually) brought out the food. Five people to serve chain food. The food was not good: the French onion soup was weak and bland, barely warm. The garlic noodles were less than room temp, and the scrimp vodka penne, a half order, was also cold. It tasted like expected, like it was frozen and nuked. Our group had: my half order, 2 tacos as an meal, a hamburger, fried chicken and some low budget Asian style meal. I went in for lunch in a weekday around noon and sat at the bar. The outside patio was crowded, and it looked like a few people were waiting for tables when I left. The interior was not busy though. I had a pineapple cider, a side ranch salad, and a turkey club with fries. The total was about $24, which I though was reasonable. I took half the sandwich home. The service was attentive. The salad came out almost immediately, and the sandwich followed about two minutes later. If I had been dining with friends or having dinner, this timing would have been way too close. I was hungry and not looking to linger though, so it was ok yesterday. I was a little bummed out that I didn't have time to order a second glass of cider since I didn't want to sit by myself just drinking on a Wednesday afternoon :) On future visits, I will wait to order entrees until the apps arrive or are finished. I was very excited to try this place out since I had heard nothing but good things from people about the one in Boston. I have now been twice but feel that there could be some improvements made. I went for an early dinner on a Saturday and we were told there was a 15 minute wait... 55 minutes later we were finally seated outside. Our waitress was very friendly however it was hard to track her down, and the service (especially for our drinks) was very slow. I was with a party of three and two of us got our food and then waited TWENTY minutes for the last persons food to come out. At first a manager came over and was under the impression that we sent the food back, but in reality it never even came to the table. After about 10 minutes he came back and told us that someone had dropped the food and they needed to make a new one, understandable but an odd mix up that they thought it was sent back? I understand that this place is new and very busy, and I will be back. I just hope to see some improvements in service and efficiency. read more

My boyfriend, sister, and her boyfriend all went here for a double date not too long ago. Due to the fact that this location was newly opened, the wait was pretty crazy. Luckily we weren't starving because we got there at 5:00 on a Friday night and weren't seated until 6:45! They don't have call ahead or reservations yet, but man, that was a long wait. After we had our meals, they were so good that we didn't think twice about the time it took to get seated. Their menu is so varied with such a good line up of different types of cuisine. The appetizer list is the best I've seen in a long time. We ended up getting the truffle fries, deviled eggs, tuna/avocado and fried fish street tacos. The entrees were just as satisfying. I've been to high-priced places like the Capital Grille and L'Andana and I have to say, this food beat their food and are so much more reasonably priced. Don't go. Loud, obnoxious people, inadequate staff. Waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for a table that was to take 1 hour. The hostess "forgot" there was another party ahead of us, and "forgot" to tell us it would be 40 minutes longer. We were seated at a table in the dining section. There was a group of at least 8 men standing, clustered around a dining table right behind us. They proceeded to lean on my chair, knock my personal belongings about and drop the F bomb like I have never heard. We were there for an adult Christmas gathering, would not ever recommend children. All that being said, I would not be writing, but I went to the MANAGER, AND pointed out the group, told the manager that the wait staff had already spoken with them, that the wait staff could not get around them and that our food had to be handed to us over the divider behind the table. The manager said he would come over and speak with them. That never happened. We would have enjoyed more drinks and desserts, but we happily spent our money elsewhere. Bad, bad experience. read more

After reading the reviews on here, I summarized that the food was going to be good, the place was going to be loud, long wait and service was going to be hit or miss. A friend and I went here on a Sunday night at 5:30. There was no wait for our table. However I wish they had asked us if we wanted a table or booth (there were plenty of each). When the hostess went to sit us down at a table (right by the kitchen) I asked if we could sit at one of the empty booths and she told us to wait right there. So we awkwardly stood there while she walked all the way back to the hostess station. She came back and we got a spacious booth. I just felt like when we were there there were plenty of options and she could have asked us (which is not entirely possible when it's busy!) And it was actually not loud at all! It was perfect. We were easily able to talk and hear each other. Our server was FABULOUS. Maris was one of the best I have ever had and she made the experience wonderful from start to finish. When we told her we weren't there for alcohol, she was quick to talk about food and didn't push the drinks at all. I knew I had to order the truffle fries because I would have left there regretting not trying them. They were delicious and what I liked was they weren't super filling, or greasy. They were a nice snack before the meal. Ah the meal. I ordered the spicy chicken breast with sweet potato fries. Seriously what an amazing sandwich this was. Chicken was perfectly cooked, great seasoning and flavor. The only thing was the bread was too big! I picked off a lot of it. Plus it did seem a little stale on the edges but the sandwich was seriously so good and it didn't deter me at all. My server insisted on bringing over the maple bacon cream dip which was very thoughtful and appreciated. She said they had to be eaten together. And she was right. I devoured my fries. What I like is even though I felt like I had eaten so much I wasn't full and sick. Everything was just great. My friend ordered the BBQ bacon cheddar burger and said it was great. I thought it looked on the small side but she was happy with it. The server was super attentive with our refills on drinks and gave us space to chit chat and just hang out. We didn't feel rushed and didn't have to search her out at the same time. Maris was a pro at her job! I would definitely go back if I lived closer! I guess if I had to critique it in anyway I would say the bathroom was a little untidy with paper on the floor. But definitely not dirty or gross. phenomenal menu, amazing staff and like 140 beers on draft... this place gets busy and you should definitely expect to wait or grab a drink at the bar while you are waiting for your table for most evenings. even weekdays it gets packed. definitely recommend visiting this location because the food is consistent and service is on point. I've had Jill, Tyler, Brett and Michael as servers and they were very helpful with food and drink suggestions. My girlfriend is vegetarian and they offer a great "chicken replacement" garden or something.... very attentive to allergies as well... i have a severe nut allergy and a manager stopped by the table to make sure everything was 100% with our order. Came here for my boyfriends brothers 21st birthday and we had a party of 14 people. Our time at the restaurant was going well until the end. Our waiter warned us of last call and that we had to have our drinks finished by 11, which we did. He gave us the check at closing and it was a 400$ bill. With 14 people and a large bill and many people had cards it took us a little bit to get organized etc. While we were finishing and passing back everyone's cards a woman came storming over yelling at us that we had to have our drinks finished and we needed to leave and we overstayed our welcome. We explained we were paying the bill and a bartender proceeded to come over behind her, also telling us we had to leave right away and started clearing our table very angrily and aggressively. It was very inappropriate considering we had followed the rules and were simply figuring out our situation. Before this whole thing happened the same bartender was behind the bar passive aggressively yelling things at our table while there were till other tables and guests in the restaurant. I took my mother-in-law to the Yard House Lynnfield last night for her birthday and we were very disappointed. She had the scallops and I had the cilantro lime shrimp. Her plate had 5 scallops and I had 4 shrimp. The brown-rice sun-dried tabouleh was all cilantro and parsley I didn't see any brown rice and barely a spot of tabouleh. I understand that these are under 600 calories but after trying the tabouleh which I usually love elsewhere, I would say it was less than 600 calories. Our calamari appetizer was gross, over cooked and the condiment that accompanied it did nothing to help. I would probably never go back except to maybe wet my whistle after shopping the wonderful shops. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will never go back to eat ever. I have to say we were very disappointed and as this was a birthday dinner I was embarrassed. Looks like I will be taking her out again for her birthday dinner. read more
