I went into the yard house at Tyson's corner to sit at the bar and grab a quick appetizer, when I walked in I thought oh good there's only about four people at the entire bar , as I looked around I could see a bunch of dirty plates all over the counters, I finally found one clean spot out of about 50 to sit down even though they're only about six customers sitting there, there were several people in white shirts standing around the restaurant, the restaurant looked pretty empty, I sat there for at least five minutes, there were two people working the bar but they were just standing around not paying attention.. I finally got up and walked out! terrible terrible service but I guess that's what we should expect today! read more

I had an extremely terrible experience at this new location which I'm really bummed about because Yard House in general is one of my favorite spots to go to. Let's start with my interaction at the bar. While waiting for a table, my friend, and I decided to start there. You cannot control what people say by any stretch, but the man I sat next to was clearly over served, as he was loud, obnoxious, and said some pretty outlandish things. He made uncomfortable comments about the dynamic between me, and a good friend implying we could be lovers which followed up with transphobic rhetoric. The man was so over the top that a couple to our right was staring at the exchange. He was clearly making my friend, and I uncomfortable, yet he was still be served, and no one stepped up to make him stop. Now with something ELSE to talk about the table, I bragged to my friend about how great the food is, and I'm excited to try it in Tyson's for the first time. Our server seemed great at first, but he really dropped the ball. We had ordered the same drink at the table, and the runner dropped off two different drinks. I told her that it was the wrong hard cider, and she just looked at me. To make it easy because I like Ace's Guava, I said, "I like this one, so I'll just keep it." She replies, "Yeah, you'll like it." She didn't offer to replace it, just stared at me like me telling her it is incorrect is not her concern. Our server asked us if we wanted to order dinner, and we said we wanted to chat over our appetizer before we ordered our meal. There were two tables sat down around us with one being a large party, and the other being a table of four. Not only did our server act with urgency with the large party, but the table of four that sat down after us got their meals before us, and left before us as well while our server kept walking past our table. We were not acknowledged until we had to flag him down. Yeah, we wanted time, but if our pretzel is on its last portion, wouldn't you think to ask if we are ready to order dinner? We ordered our meals after flagging him down, and I had asked for a Cali Stack with no tomatoes, or Serranos. When our food came out, I was greeted with the Tuna Stack. I told that runner that's not what I ordered, and was greeted 2 minutes later by the manager on duty with THE SAME Tuna Stack I said I did not order. I let her know that everything I had ordered personally was wrong, and I'm unsure what the disconnect was. So I told my friend to eat so her food wouldn't get cold and while I waited for my food to arrive. The third time it came back, it was still WRONG. Our server came back for this one, and I let him know how frustrated I was as this is the third time I had to send food back. He said he thought I said no cilantro, and not no Serrano peppers. So my meal finally comes back correct, but now I'm eating my meal out of sequence as my friend had already finished hers. Then, after continuing to wait for our check, the table of four left, and our server was dropping checks at the large table. He NEVER acknowledged us after that. Actually no one did. Shout out to the manager on duty for comping my Cali Stack, and beer. However, it should not have gotten to this point. What an overall bad experience for a restaurant chain I genuinely love. Hooray for two stars as the restaurant was clean, the music was fun, and the food tasted just like I was at Springfield. read more

Came in at 11:30 for lunch on a Tuesday and I think I met the entire restarant staff. We sat down and was greeted by the server, manager, kitchen staff, some other staff and then more other staff to ensure we were okay as soon as we sat down. We were asked 4 times if we were ready to order by our server within a 5 minute window. (very annoying) We then placed our order and then here comes the parade of staff members, are you okay, do you need more water, have you been helped, is everything okay? all within 3 minutes Our food arrives and it was good, but we joked about how many people would come by and check on us AGAIN so I lost the bet as we only had 2 people come by and then they each came by with the same questions twice. We are rushing to leave at this point because almost every bite we ate was interrupted by a server or staff member. read more

I came here for Father's Day. They have a beautiful huge patio. My father is 87 and has health issues, our waiter Vishal was so understanding. He helped us pick the right menu items and was so incredibly accommodating with our requests. We really appreciated his service. We ordered the fish sandwich and it was good. Too battered for my taste but dad loved it. The vibe is super relaxed with beautiful weather on the patio, it's a great time. Ambiance is nice. read more

But that didn't stop them from seating us, giving us menus, giving us time to pick from their giant beer menu, yadda yadda, and eventually telling us thought they were 86 on beer but he wasn't sure--they'd check with the manager. Went in tonite just before 5 and sat at the bar. They were not busy at all and there were at least 6-8 servers behind the bar doing side work. Menus were dropped and no offer to take a beverage order. Sat there for about 10 minutes no one acknowledged us. We asked to place a drink order and she just looked at us. There manager looked at us a couple of times...and did nothing. Finally we were asked if we wanted to place a drink order...we declined and told her we were leaving due to NO service. For those of you who saw my initial review last night, I have given more thought to my experience at the Yard House. I am unhappy enough to lower the rating to one star. I am not going to comment on the food, the burgers are good, but for a steep 100$. . I expect better treatment. Keep in mind that my comments are also based on a hospitality professional. My wife spent years in the hospitality industry and is aware when something is really off in a service establishment. The hostess who greats guests really needs retraining, if not removal from her job. She and her teammate were rude and unprofessional enough that I will not return. 1. I made a reservation and arrived on time. 2. Upon arrival I was told I am number one on the waiting list. 3. I stood with my family in front of the waiting area for 20 minutes. At 10 minutes I asked the hostess for a menu. She and her teammate knew we were waiting. 4. At 20 minutes my wife asked when we would be seated. She was told that we had missed our reservation and taken off the list. 5. My wife responded that we had been standing there and was told "well, we sent you a messsage". When the hostess was told that we had not been informed that we must watch for a text, she said that's how we do it. She was inappropriately rude. 6. My wife told the hostess, again that we were not told to watch for a text and added that we were standing right in front of the greeting desk, the the hostess was even more abrasive and conveyed that it was our problem. 7. I politely joined the conversation and was told "hey... we sent you a text, why didn't you respond". Yard House management: First, what happened to customer service? Is this how guests are treated at your restaurant? I have no idea that you will communicate me only via text, and that your staff does not feel obligation to to mention to a long time customer that there table is ready. I am stunned - your staff is unprofessional and poorly trained. The hostess knew who we were. She did not care and made the Yard House look bad. Telling the customer that they have fouled up and it is not the establishments problem is not good for your business. I am sorry, but I cannot recommend the Yard House. $100 for burgers and beer", Fairfax County (the Tysons area in particular) has many other options. read more

This is my family's 3rd time at Yard House in Tyson's Galleria in McLean, VA, and each time there is a problem with our reservation. Their staff is incompetent and rude to their customers. They don't take group reservations or any reservations for that fact on the weekends. I was informed that the would only offer a group (15-20) Saturday morning reservation at 11 AM and no later. Nothing on Sunday. They have no brunch service or brunch menu. Just a semi wanna-be upscale beer hall in a ritzy totally upscale shopping mall. Bathroom faucets are so low flow that it's like a trickle. Fish tacos are pathetically skimpy. Water is refilled at slower than a snails pace. Place is not busy but the service is so slow. Trying to pay and leave was like watching paint dry. People would stop by the windows and watch the TVs right next to me. Very uncomfortable! read more

Pros : Clean, new place Cons : Service, food, work ethic, management(lack of communication and effectiveness) Mia was our waitress. Do not order pizza. Ours was reheated and old(dark and tough). Do not order calamari. Ours was overcooked(tough) and 50% crumbs. What really bothered us was our drinks. I asked if there was lemonade for our kids. Mia said it was available, strawberry lemonade too. I ordered two without ice. I noticed the lemonade looked odd. I just assumed it was watered down(its dim lighting at YH so I didn't notice until home). Once we were almost done, I asked for a to-go refill of lemonades. When we got home, I decided to taste the lemonade. It was colored water with absolutely no flavor. Its rude and unethical to serve food in this. We paid for drinks and food and got subpar food and service. I've NEVER had an experience like this anywhere. I guess they just expect you wont notice if you'd drank enough. Visited on 3/22. I called the next day to express our displeasure with our dinner. I asked for a manager(there were so many that I'm not sure that they were managers). I spoke with Danny. He promised a cash refund or a gift card(nearly entire value of our subtotal) to give them another "try ". He assured me we'd receive an email from HR as follow-up and our gift card. Days pass. I call again on 3/26 and speak with Kylie. She assures me she'd call Danny(because hes off), she'd call HR the following day and follow-up with me afterwards. Days pass. I call again on 3/28 and speak with Karen. She said Danny was there to speak with me(since he began this process) but he wasnt? She said no info was saved about this so we started over... She began taking my info and tried to refund $100 because a $50 gift card($150 subtotal) had been "sent out". I declined. I waited long enough to be strung along for something that should've been done the first time I called. I didn't want the gift card, I wanted resolution. So she says Joe(gm) approved a full refund of the check by thurs/fri(the following week). We did get a refund but not in a timely manner. read more

this was my first time going to the Yard House. I ordered the lobster with noodles. It came to about 32 bucks. This is before taxes and I was very shocked. The mail was the size of an appetizer. only had a few noodles very little vegetables and about four little pieces of lobster, and maybe three shrimp this meal was not worth $32 read more

Been waiting for this place to open for a while now as there are hardly any sport bars in area. We've tried it few times now. On the plus side it's spacious with lots of TVs so pretty much can watch games from anywhere. Outside patio is nice but was told I can only buy drinks at bar and go out. So no service outside. I hope that's temporary. Food is good not great. TVs are all the same size so no big TVs like BJs. On the not so positive side, music is extremely loud. Differently not a place if you want to communicate with anyone. They have iPads to place orders which is not a bad idea since the staff has hard time hearing what your ordering. If your using ipad be very careful on the games page. Seems like we were just checking it and not playing but got charged $2.50. No notice or anything. read more

We drove 20 minutes to get there. When we were pulling into the parking lot, I checked the website again, and there was a 5-15 minute wait, so I put our name on the list. 45 minutes later we were seated!!! I was fuming when when we were finally seated. We would have gone elsewhere if they had been honest because we did not have the time . The worst part of it was management did not care. No apology, and no apparent interest in doing better next time. This was our third time here. Our food was fine, and the ambiance had improved (music was lowered so that we could talk without screaming). I do not plan to return. read more

Food took 45 minutes to come out. We were dying of thirst because our waitress never checked in on us to refill our drinks, follow up on our order, or even came back to see how our food was after we received it. We were pretty much just abandoned on a random island in the middle of the restaursnt. I guess now that their soft opening is over and corporate is no longer there, they can care less about their customers. Not only did our food take 10 years to come out, the wrong item came out and they took it back to "make a new one" which took another 5 years. We let a waitress know we no longer want it bc we need to leave, she said she'd "check on it" and she never returned. On top of that, we were seated next to a table of about 30 people who must've been confused because they were standing up n walking around hovering over and making other tables uncomfortable. If they want to ROAM around the restaurant they should've rented it out for private use. Not be on top of me while I'm trying to enjoy my meal. Terrible terrible will never go back here and will warn all my employees in the mall not to go there either. read more
