He also brought me 2 samples of cider because I did not know which one I wanted. I settled on the tropical punch because it was stronger and tasted better than the woodchuck pineapple. For appetizer we got sone chicken nachos to share.. for my meal I ordered my favorite meal here the lobster garlic noodles. I always say I might try something else and then I think back to how good the noodles are and I go for what I know. The waiter was just okay. Never smiled and didn't seem to enjoy working there. No engagement with us but he did the job. He was attentive and brought a refill Lemonade without us asking. We ordered the crisp Brussel sprouts for our appetizer. SO good especially with the sauce! I had the steak bowl, medium. My gf had the filet mignon, medium. My bowl was very tasty! My steak was prepared perfectly, however hers was well done. We sent it back and the waiter apologized. A manager also stopped by our table and apologized. It wasn't an issue until the next steak was medium well, almost well done again. She just ate it and we didn't complain. Another manager stopped by and asked how the 2nd steak was, we just said it was better...and it was. It had the slightest pink. They just had trouble with cooking it medium I guess. Our server Nelson was very neglectful of us. First- we had ordered the spicy hummus and then we received the spicy edamame (not even close to the same thing) Second- my fiancé kept having to ask for sweet tea and then he would disappear for 10 minutes and then ask if we would like a sweet tea. Third- I had ordered the twisted chicken Alfredo but I wanted the chili sauce ots just in case I didn't like it. I then received the twisted chicken Alfredo with the sauce in my meal with an extra side of the chili sauce, and we could find our server to tell him that this was the wrong thing so I had to pull someone completely different The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of that other server her name is Ally and she was incredible she brought me a whole new pasta and took the other one off our bill she refilled our drinks without us asking and made the rest of our experience better. We were staying at the Hyatt Hotel nearby and were looking to find a place to watch the Miami versus Florida State football game. My husband suggested this place and it was a great idea. They have plenty of booth, Hightop and bar seating. They also put the game on a tv right in front of our table when we requested it. Our server, Daniel, quickly came over to take our drink orders. We were staying right across the street from Yard House and upon arriving late and being hangry we walked in because of convenience but it will now be a place we frequent when we visit here! The atmosphere was chill but still had a nice buzz in the air for a weeknight. The midnight sangria paired perfect with the margherita pizza, which was absolutely delicious! The thin crust and light red sauce made it light enough to indulge in late at night and for someone who doesn't typically like tomatoes ended up loving them in this dish! My husband vouched their burger was amazing as well! It was so good we actually went back the next day and tried different dishes! I typically visit this location a couple times a year. Today I had the cobb salad with grilled shrimp. The salad dressing is delicious. The ingredients are very fresh. I really enjoyed the edamame and radishes included in the salad and the shrimp had a great flavor with good seasoning. The restaurant looked like it had been through a pretty busy lunch as there were quite a few dirty tables and the table we were seated at had debris underneath it. Our server was a bit overwhelmed with several other tables they were attempting to wait on. We found a manager and he took our order. However, getting drink refills and just in general maintenance of the table was very lacking. I don't know that it was the server's fault although they did tell us that they didn't particularly like working. Maybe a better day tomorrow. read more

L A little hard to get back out...have to back onto the main road. Lots if construction. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and large in size. Atmosphere: During the Sunday afternoon football season, pretty steady, but not unmanageable. Staff/Attendants: bar tender was Great and highly motivated, very nice, and relatively attentive. I ate at Yard House in Orlando and really enjoyed it, so I was happy to see one right outside my hotel in San Antonio. I just wanted to get some food to take back and relax in my room after a long day at a conference. I ordered the calamari and the buffalo chicken pizza and a glass of wine while I waited at the bar. The service was just okay, seemed like a long wait for what I ordered. Because my food was to go, there was an upcharge, what? Dumbest thing I ever heard. The food was a disappointment, calamari was rubbery with an awful sauce, seemed like a failed attempt at tartar sauce. The pizza was okay flavor-wise, but the chicken was really dry. Yard House has been a great place to eat with my coworkers after our training. We made a reservation for 6:30 PM, and it is everything that we expected. The staff was nice and personable, and I love how the upstairs has a cool view of the town street. The music is medium loud and you can see the sports play on the TV. The menu has an array of American dishes from steak to pasta. There is a lot you can enjoy, but it's important to note that the dishes are heavy and large. On the table, they have small phones where you can request for the order. There were a couple of orders made. Starting with the appetizer, I find the fries too salty for my liking. The fried calamari was easier to eat, but it could have been crunchier. I think it was undercooked. I had a sparkling refresher mocktail with cherry. It was the highlight of my night. The drink was sweet and soothing. I loved every part of it. The fontina vodka pasta was alright. I was hoping it would be spicy like the vodka pasta I would eat at other places, but it tasted rather cheesy and heavy. I asked for less sauce, and it seems they put more. The basil helped dilute the saltiness, and I couldn't finish the dish. I had a wonderful night with my team at this place. Although the food could have been better, the friendly culture of the staff and the fun laughs and jokes we had made this a memorable experience. I can't wait to come back again. read more

I've never been to this chain before and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The service at this location was excellent and I was seated immediately. The overall vibe is a lot of 80's music and lots of TV's, a bit too much going on for my taste and a bit quieter location would be my preference. The food and beer menu were expansive and I had a couple of nice Belgian style ales which were excellent. They had a special Oktoberfest menu with a mushroom gravy pork chop on it so I chose that. I am happy I did! The pork chop was cooked perfectly with a nice outside char and still very juicy. The gravy was great with a nice mustard hint. I was super surprised at the quality from a chain. My family and I visited the Commerce Street location in San Antonio, for dinner. At the same time, the San Antonio Spurs were playing the Oklahoma Thunder. It was understandably loud, with cheering fans. So atmosphere was good and electric. The waitress and host staff were very pleasant. At one poitn she was busy with another large table but she sent a colleague over to check on us and take our order. That was great. So we of course tipped her to the max. But let's talk about the food. We ordered shrimp skewers for the kids. 2 orders each kid as she recommended, and french fries in between them. They gulfed them down. Thanks to her again. My wife and I ordered the 20oz T-Bone and WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. Flat, rubbery, and ABSOLUTELY No seasoning at all. No spec of salt. not spec of black pepper. Totally inedible. I mentioned to the waitress and she informed the manager, Mikey, but he had no time for us but had time for what seems to have been 'regulars'. Not an apology or anything. I explained to the waitress that we paid for it to show it was not about the money. But we left HALF of the steak on the plate no matter how we tried to force it down. BUT MIKEY Had no time . Our waitress accidentally put in our queso in as vegetarian so it surprised us when it came to the table with veggies instead of chips.. we asked the guy who brought the food out to us and he was rude and did not take time to answer when I asked if this was also supposed to come with chips. When I saw our waitress she took responsibility for the mistake and brought us out chips. No harm, and she was very sweet. I just love coming to Yard House. I used to visit whenever I came here on vacation, but now that I live here, I stop by every so often. I always order the steaks, and they're consistently super good. One time I ordered the nachos as an appetizer, but they were basically a whole entrée by themselves -- I couldn't even finish them. I always have a great time here. Dang it has been a looong time since I have been to Yard House! I used to live in San Antonio and would always love going to the La Cantera location for HH. Why did I ever stop going?!?! LOL the food is so yummy and the prices make me love it even more :) I'm going to have to visit the Austin location more often for sure. We came in for dinner on a Friday night and it was pretty busy, but we put our name down and waited for our table over at the bar. Two drinks in and then our table was ready. We started with the Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel and the Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds. Both were very good, but the Cheese Curds were my absolute favorite! They are very addicting and I like the horseradish dipping sauce it came with. For our main entree two of us shared the Korean Ribeye & Shrimp ($45.99). It came with a very large portion of fries as well. I think next time we will try a different side, but still good. The ribeye though OMG!!!! I've been to several high end steakhouses and this steak puts them all to shame and for $45.99 it's such a great deal. We ordered the ribeye rare and it was absolute perfection. The sweet soy ginger flavor was to die for and the meat juicy and velvety. Two of us couldn't finish the entire dish. The place we were going to eat at went out of business, so Yard House was close and we decided to eat there despite our aversion to eating at 'chain restaurants'. This place definitely falls way outside the chain restaurant mediocrity. The hostess was very friendly when we walked in and we were seated right away. Our server immediately got our drink order. We decided to have the Miguel's Queso Dip which is cheddar, pepper jack, queso blanco cheeses with roasted pablano peppers and guajillo chile and chipotle, served with Ward tortillas and chips. The flavor of the queso was really good and had a slight heat! Great way to start. My wife had the fontina vodka penne which is penne alla vodka topped with grilled fontina chicken and fried basil. The flavors were amazingly good! I had the blackened shrimp tacos with rice and beans. The tacos had blackened shrimp, fresh avocado, cabbage, sriracha aioli, salsa roja and cilantro. The flavors were superb with some heat. The only downside was the shrimp were too salty but fortunately the other items in the taco helped balance it. The pinto beans had a good flavor and the rice also had a good flavor. For dessert we tried the bread pudding with crème anglaise. Vanilla bean and caramel sauces; vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar. It was really good! We've had a few bad bread puddings lately and this one was what we were hoping for!
