Stopped in tonight for the second time since they've opened. To start, we got the truffle fries (they forgot to put truffle oil on them, so they had to bring us a side) and cheese curds. The fries were cold and the cheese curds could have used 30 more seconds in the d fryer. Our entrees were good - I got the BBQ chicken salad with salmon instead of chicken, and my partner in crime got the Cobb salad with shrimp. We both enjoyed a soft drink. It was a bit pricey - with gratuity coming in at $75 for both of us. If you're around the area, give them a try. But I wouldn't go out of the way for it. read more

Had a good time at Yard House. This was my third time attempting to come here. Usually it's packed and you can't do a walk in. Even today, it was 1:30 on a Tuesday and still had to wait about 15 minutes. Menu has lots of options. Loved the Cali Stalk Roll and Chicken bowl. Although the chicken/steak bowl is spicy! So if you don't like spice be sure to ask for the red pepper flakes on the side. It's a nice sports bar with big TVs to watch games. And they have comfy booth seating that can accommodate a bigger group. Our waitress was nice and we enjoyed our time. read more

My wife just took care of business with the Whiskey Garlic Salmon. The salmon is thick and is also a good portion size. It was moist with not only cooked with glaze but had a side of dipping glaze. The mashed potatoes possibly had a touch of parmensen and other ingredients apparently really good, according to my wife. Poke Nachos - I wanted to give the Ahi a try, so this was a good opportunity. This is pretty darn good. Although I thumped the jalapeños to the side for less heat, there was still a good balance of spicy sauce heat, cilantro, onions, and Ahi all on top of the crunchy wong tongs. The portion and flavor are actually worth the cost. Lobster Garlic Noodles - I have to confess that there is a perfect amount of seafood and mushroom. I'm not really a fan of the thick noodles, but these worked in the dish. This is an interesting eat with a unique flavor spin. It's more likely a one timer, though. It was a small hit for not being noticed when we came in, but the server and cooks did a good job. We were just reaching out to try something new. The menu was interesting, so we gave it a try. This was a successful stop. The portions are well worth it, unlike so many others. This is on our come-back list to give the other salmon a try and the steak, perhaps. read more

Came here to meet my friend for dinner. We were seated at a low top table away from the bar, but directly in front of one of their many t.v.s so we could catch the Tigers play. Go Javi! While my pal had a burger, I opted for two tacos. Yes, you can mix and match. I ordered a fish taco and a shrimp taco. Both were very tasty, but I think I would choose the shrimp tacos on my next visit. I also order calamari. I think they must honor happy hour prices throughout the restaurant because they were only $6-something. Yay, except I didn't have to pay anything because I had just joined their e-mail club and received an offer for a free appetizer. It wasn't my favorite; the rings were a little small and some were more coating than tender squid. Next time I will try a different appetizer. It's nice that it's not loud inside and you can carry on a conversation without raising your voice. Bonus was having a fantastic server. She was even a Tiger fan! read more

A tale of two stories. One the incredible dining area spacious and very welcoming. The very good customer service from the greeting at the door to our excellent server. Now the second half the just OK beer and food. I had the Gaffel Kolsch beer it was OK cold but like OK. I had the double decker BLT and it was OK the bacon was crisp the lettuce fresh and tomato was red bread toasted good right amount of mayo but Ok. I like this place but have a complaint. My husband and I wanted to get some late night food and remembered that Yard House used to do a late night happy hour. My husband called to inquire if it was still on. The person on the phone told him "yes, it went on until 10:45pm" (very specific time). We show up and they say there's a 15 minute wait. We double check, "will we be able to get the happy hour food menu?" Hostesses both say yes. We wait a full half an hour to be seated even though there are plenty of open tables. Once we are seated and looking through the menu, the waiter comes by and tells us the late night happy hour is only drinks. I am disappointed that the people who work in this restaurant don't know what is happening. I am giving 2 stars because this review is not about the food but more about the overall experience and service that we dealt with. We ended up leaving and the hostess who sat us was like "thanks for coming" even though she had just sat us. Not very inquisitive on why we were leaving after waiting that whole time. I said "just so you know, you guys don't have a late night happy hour here that includes food." She wasn't apologetic or anything. She just shrugged. I was once a hostess in a restaurant and that is the bare minimum of the job. You pass out menus and seat people. You should know what menu/food options are available. I took myself for happy hour and it was great. 1/2 off certain apps and $3 off draft beer. I ordered the sliders and a passion fruit sour beer. The sliders were delicious. They come dry with cheese and a side of fries. Tomatoes, arugula and condiments are on the side. I love this because I don't like mustard. I've recently discovered my love of sour beers and the passion fruit didn't disappoint. I will be looking for it at a local store. If you're in the area between 3-6 stop in for happy hour. read more

Scott is our waiter this evening. He's nice enough. We ordered the the tower of onions, Mediterranean salmon, because the ginger salmon that I wanted is breaded with panko crust and the ginger is already integrated into the panko. I got the salmon well done and and order with 2 chicken tacos. Scott came back and informed us that they had just run out of onion rings, seriously. Go get more onions ASAP. He said they just took it off the machine to order it. As big as this place is, order more onions, they don't go bad that quickly and it wasn't even 7:20pm yet. They lost a star for poor planning with the onion rings tonight. We had to settle on the Parmesan truffle fries and the lobster, crab & artichoke dip with both the crispy flatbread and corn chips for me. They only have Tabasco as a hot sauce for their tacos, no cholula or Mexican hot sauce at all. I am still annoyed about not getting any onion rings tonight. The lobster, crab artichoke dip wasn't bad, I only had one piece of artichoke heart or leaf on my corn chips. Corn chips and pita were blah. The Parmesan, truffle fries weren't bad, they were crispy and tasty. The Mediterranean salmon as a whole wasn't bad, the salmon was perfectly cooked, looks like they blackened the salmon. The kale, red quinoa and peanuts was my favorite part about the Mediterranean salmon for me. My husband felt his chicken tacos were average, not special, not bad. The checkout process is just as flawed as their onion ring order process, leaves much to be desired. The machine at the table isn't working as we try to charge our card. Card reader isn't registering the card swipe. Scott had to run it through the normal computer, so much for technology. read more

I came here for a networking event, and so the menu was limited to a few choices: 1 of 4 starters, 1 of 6 entrees, and 1 of 3 desserts. Many of the choices sounded delicious, so it was hard to pick! For my starter, I just decided to go with a traditional Caesar salad. I always love the larger chunks of parmesan you get when it's shaved vs. grated, so that was a plus. For the entrée, I chose the parmesan crusted pork loin, which was served with a bourbon sage cherry shallot sauce, broccolini, and mashed sweet potatoes. This entrée was absolutely delicious! Although the sauce sounds complicated, it complemented the pork perfectly. One of my favorite flavor profiles is sweet and salty contrast, and this delivered. The pork was crusted with a crispy parmesan breading and was tender and flavorful inside. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I will say that I tried my coworker's orange chicken, which was not good at all. It was basically heavily breaded chicken nuggets in a sauce that tasted like thickened orange juice. It makes Panda Express' orange chicken seem like authentic Chinese food. I'm glad I didn't choose that entrée! For dessert, I got the mini cheesecake brulee. It had a nice layer of caramelized sugar on top, but it could have used a strawberry sauce - it was kind of plain jane, albeit tasty. Came here with a friend for the second time here and once again it was a wonderful experience. There's parking in both the front and back of the restaurant, and plenty of tables/booths to choose from as well as a bar to sit at as well. I can't remember the name of our server for the life of me but she was super helpful and really funny. Now that I think about it, the server was really great my first time here as well. Overall it seems their team always provides some good quality service, which is appreciated. Now, onto the food. First we ordered two appetizers, the Moo Shu Egg Roll, which is basically chicken, chili cream cheese, carrots, green onions, cilantro, and spinach. Although I never actually tasted them, I had to snap a pic quickly before my friend devoured them so I take it they were good. I had the spinach cheese dip, and lord knows a I loved any combination of spinach dip! It was very flavorful and the chips that's came with it were warm and tasty! Both times here I've had the beyond burger with some ranch on the side. I always like a add an extra side of spice! SO GOOD! The game changer here is the y'all half yard glass. You can literally some people's head turn once they bring it out to your table. I ordered the half yard of the Ace Pineapple cider and whew it was good! Order it. Now, it appears I can't seem to escape spending around $50 while I'm here, so not the cheapest place in the world, but it's definitely worth it. I'll gladly be back soon. read more

This place is huge! I went on a Saturday early evening. Thinking we would be the dinner crowd and be past the lunch crowd. Jokes on me. It was graduation weekend. Service was decent for how packed it was. I had the truffle burger. I typically don't get burgers out but the menu was very large and I was hungry so I got decision fatigue. Yard House is a fun and upbeat place to grab a bite and drink. The restaurant is quite large with the indoor space flowing outdoors. There is a large bar with stainless steel pipes running throughout the ceiling to the taps there. I like the large booths and sense of space; it did not feel crowded at all. The menu is geared towards groups and grazing. It is varied with lots of dishes great for sharing: guac, nachos, onion rings, fried cheese curds, pizzas, tacos, dips, and baked, soft pretzels. Much of this I cannot eat (carbs!, sigh!) but I did find a number of items that fit nicely into my meal plan. I started with the spicy tuna roll. The server kindly scrolled through the digital menu to communicate how this is not the typical spicy tuna roll. Instead, think round, (small) cake shaped, with three distinct layers: creamy guacamole at the top; chunks of Ahi tuna lightly coated in a spicy sauce is the middle layer, and edamame forms the bottom layer. For my main, I indulged in the sea bass with a miso glaze. The sea bass was silky with a bit of crunch around the edges. The bok choy bundles in sauce were delicious and complemented the shredded carrots and edamame well. Instead of the jasmine rice, I asked for steamed broccoli. They got rid of the onion ring tower!!! I always come for that! Omg the Poke Nachos for happy hour was so delicious!! I recommend I'm a texture girl and usually don't like poke but my cousin ordered it and the sauce and chips made a difference on how everything came together! We also got carnivore pizza (I think it was right, my husband did eat it as left over and I think it gave him a tummy ache), fried calamari (closest thing to onion rings), chicken lettuce wrap (assuming it was okay because my cousin didn't really touch it.), chicken tenders, queso dip (I've had better elsewhere). Service was good. This place didn't seem to really impress me like other Yard House have. And the fact there isn't anymore onion ring tower :( I'll come back again to see if things change. Glad we gave this place a second chance. The first time we came about six months ago I would have rated this place a one. They were out of every beer we requested, our sliders were raw even after they remade them, and the chicken nachos were not great. From our experience they gave us a gift card and we returned for happy hour. The sangria was really good, best one I've had in awhile. The poke nachos were excellent, just the right amount of spice. I loved the thinly sliced jalapeños. The pizza was good as were the moo shu egg rolls, and fried Mac and cheese. The dipping sauces were a nice compliment to the appetizers. The siracha aioli was the best. They have a tablet on the table used to order and to pay the bill. You can look at pictures from the menu with the description of each food and drink. I took a picture of each thing we ordered to compare and see if it looks the same and delightfully it actually does. I will include them in this review. I like the big menu. Like with the Cheesecake Factory there are choices for many types of eaters which we have in my family. I think happy hour delivers the best value, so I'll probably come back again for happy hour rather than a full priced meal. read more

Looks like a dope spot. Big giant open floor plan. Super high ceilings definitely gives it a larger than life feel. Plus the tap pipes from the brewery room to the bar gives it that really trendy industrial feel. I had one of their house beers which was pretty good. I had the house golden pilsner which was totally delish. Lets start with the opening acts shall we. Poke Nachos: Ok, i'll give you this one. The dish is actually very good. Perfect for cutting the taste of alcohol when u just want to drink and yak around. Moo Shu Egg Rolls: I quite like Moo Shu, specially when i order it in a semi authentic chinese restaurant. The dish is definitely plated nice and pretty, but it wasnt very good. It was actually borderline nasty. Bavarian Pretzel: Who doesnt like a giant sized lye bread. Yes its pretty good, but pretzel isnt something to wow about. Its just twisty bread. And now for the main events... Nashville Hot Chicken: Never have i had the original hot chicken in nashville. So i wouldnt know. But these boys are pretty darn good. Comes with pancakes and syrup to make it sweet and savory dance on my tastebuds. Dark meat is a perfect choice. Flavor was on point, but im not quite fond of boneless. I feel as if they just plated me 2 thigh fillets that was suppose to go in the nashville hot chicken sandwich. Shrimp and Calamari Diablo: This dish was all over the place. Flavor was whack,, but it was at least decently spicy. The service at this restaurant was on point. Very attentive and extra timely. Not a beat was skipped. Would i take myself to this restaurant?? Nope,, probably wouldnt be my first choice. Id probably meet someone up here who's feeling some Yard House fare. We came here on a Wednesday at 1:00 for lunch and we were surprised by a 45 minute wait for a table for two. So we sat at the bar instead. It was ok. We would rather have had a table. The bar tender was busy and she was working hard. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with truffle fries and my mom got the chicken bowl. Both were good. My chicken was a little dry but there was an aioli on the sandwich which helped. Overall it was a better than average experience but not outstanding. read more
