Went there on Monday around 2pm. Was sat next to the opening of the kitchen. I work in food at industry and have work for Darden, the company that owns Yard house. So, as I was sitting there enjoying my margarita I tend to always watch the kitchen. Watching one of the cooks, he bends down picks something off the floor and throws it in the fryer basket and drops the basket into the fryer for a quick second then add whatever he picked up onto the plate. That was a move I've seen before, but not follow through I've seen ever. Ask for manager that took 10 minutes to come see us. Told her what happen and first thing she did was to try and defend the cook. She should've apologized and then went to the cook to ask him. She try to say he reached into the seafood drawer. Uh! No! Why would he toss it like he don't care and drop in the fryer for 1 second. I told her we not paying for anything and walked out. If the chef cooks like that when there is 20 people eating in the restaurant. I can't imagine what he does when it's a full house on the weekend. Was one my go to places for apps and beer. Wait...I never wrote a review for Yard House!? Oh em gee, guys, this place is the tits. Came in during my boyfriend's birthday week (so that was in Nov.2016) and had lunch with friends. We sat in a booth by the window, overlooking the views of this ridiculously huge mall. I was stoked because, as a San Franciscan, I definitely wanted to gawk at the New York mall-goers. Our server was SOOO GOOODDDD I want to say that her name was Carmen (I'll check my receipt later when I get home). She was so friendly and attentive, she knew all about the menu and all of the beers. She was so courteous and she made such an effort to corroborate my plan to have "Happy Birthday" sung to my boyfriend and embarrass him. They even brought this amazing dessert for his bday, free of charge! It was a molten chocolate cake/brownie in a ramekin with vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar stenciled to say "Happy Birthday" on the plate and a candle. Three of us got beer flights and my boyfriend got several different full-sized beers. All of the beer was great - I tried some local IPAs and a dark beer and my boyfriend got all dark beers. His favorite that they have here is the Kasteel Barista Chocolate Quad. We ordered a growler of it to take home and it was so sweet how the server repeatedly ran by me (in a very polite and subtle way) that it was going to be quite pricey. She handled it perfectly because if I had been concerned about money, I would have wanted to be forewarned of this and if she hadn't warned a person who was more frugal than I, they might have declined the purchase, which could have wasted a lot of good beer. In case you wonder, I think this growler of Kasteel was around $50-$60. Worth it. We shared the poke nachos which were INCREDIBLE. I considered ordering this dish for my main, and after I tried one, I wished that I had. It's marinated raw ahi, avocado, cilantro, serranos, green onions, nori, sesame seeds, sweet soy, sriracha aïoli, white truffle sauce over crispy wontons ($12.95). There is so much good food on this menu, guys. So hard to choose but my man and I both got street taco trios (I know that's dumb, we should have got diff things and shared, but our palates are way too different so we can't really even eat the same stuff half the time). We did share the duck wings and they were SOOO BOMB. You MUST try those, they were so lean and delicious. We both got the Vampire taco, my bf got the Korean pork belly and one other that we can't remember. He says the pork belly one still haunts his dreams. I can't remember the other ones I got. This place is so lame. I've been to a few yard houses. Food is descent. But nothing worth waiting for. This one in particular sucked bc service was terrible. We sat down and hadn't even open out our menus.... waitress is Iike "ready to order?" I tell her I need a little more time bc we just sat. I quickly rush to look at menu. Two beers I asked for they were out of. Ok... I wasn't going to pick any random beer off the huge list. So I tell her I'm ok for then bc is like to look at menu. Then she says "any apps? I say "yeah sure. But we need to look at menu so we need a few mins." She then says "ok... should I bring her a water" to my husband. Her? He was like "sure. Actually we could all use some waters." She comes back with soft drinks for our kids two mins later and asks if we are ready to argue. Literally two mins later. We order. Then we wait. We get our food. Mine was cold but I was starving so we just ate it. The waitress disappears from this point on. When almost completely done she comes to clear plates and we ask for refills. Someone else comes and brings those. We wait. I walk yo bathroom and look for waitress. Can't find her. Finally, we locate her and I ask for check. She says sure. Five mins later someone else comes over and asks "did you need help?" We explained we just needed a check. Then this person explains that we can pay on the little kiosk on table. When traveling for work sometimes you end up settling on chain restaurants because they are a safe bet. Other times that's all you can find near you. This place I stumbled upon while walking through a mall in Nyack NY. A mall that has a hockey rink in it (can I move there?) Anyway.... I've been to a Yard House before. There is one just outside of Fenway Park and another in an outdoor mall not far from my house back near Boston. The food here is great. Nothing to different, but what they have they do well. Burgers, salads, sandwiches, seafood, Pizza's, and what they called "street tacos". Which looked like trendy takes on a taco. Reminds me of things I've gotten from a food truck. also.... awesome sweet potato fries that aren't mush....like most. Decor is industrial, ambiance is Dark, they have a good layout of tv's around the bar. I enjoy the industrial look, makes the place feel clean and less like the other chains out there. As the name suggests they have beeeeeeeeer, and alot of it. Just about everything on tap. And they use a naming layout... kind of like starbucks. Shorty, Goblets, your regular Pint glass, and if you aren't day drinking.... or don't care what people think, the Half Yard. For those of you who haven't had one. Think.....2 ft tall, Funnel on top, Graduated Cylinder body, Stemless wine glass on the bottom. The beer list is just extensive enough to have something for everyone but not large enough to be annoying. They have a few of my harder to find favorites, like La Fin Do Monde. And others as to not alienate anyone like your regular bud light-ish beers. The bartenders are knowledgeable but not snobby and are willing to let you try anything they have before your bay. Decent food, not expensive and plenty of beers to try. As far as chains go... This is one is worth a visit. read more

If you are a beer fanatic, then the Yard House is the place for you. This was my second visit to the Palisades location and it did not disappoint. We were a group of 6 and were quickly seated. The hardest part was deciding which beer to order. Ironically, the biggest "con" of Yard House is how overwhelming the beer menu is. It's impossible to narrow it down to just one beer. Personally, I am impartial to Innes & Gunn beers. On a prior visit, the Yard House had it on tap. Sadly, this time around Innes & Gunn had been replaced by Kentucky Bourbon Ale (which isn't a bad alternative). To start, we ordered the onion ring tower, the fried chicken strips and the lobster crab artichoke dip. The onion ring tower is incredible and so is the lobster crab artichoke dip. The chicken strips was just average. While the fries were tasty, the chicken strips were too oily. As for entrees, half the group ordered mac and cheese while the others ordered the fish and chips, chicken tacos and the turkey club. I had the mac and cheese. While not the best mac and cheese, it was nonetheless very good. It came out at a hot temperature and had a nice, golden breadcrumb layer on top. Overall, the Yard House is a great place for beers and food. If your into beer, then this is the place for you. While there was a mix up when we ordered our second round, our waitress Kelli was amazing at correcting it. In fact, the manager came over to apologize. We could tell that customer service and satisfaction is at the top of their list of priorities. Any shortcomings are easily forgotten when your staff is so customer oriented. The Korean BBQ boneless short ribs were like trying to chew saucy jerky, the buffalo wings were cold, I've had better sliders at White Castle - oh wait, those were the White Castle ones you buy at the supermarket frozen section, only with aioli on them. Ugh.... HAVING SAID THAT- I give the wait staff 5stars! They were professional, courteous and took great care of us (and, NO, no family working there) They made sure that we were in time and paid up to get out in time, though we did give it almost two hours to be sure. The cocktails are great. I'd definitely stop there for a drink, be prepared to pay dearly for top shelf libations, around $15 for a craft gin cooler with herbs (yummy). Friends at a big table were going to stay longer than me so I went to the bar to get a drink, not deal with group tab etc. Waited almost 10 minutes before a bartender took my order. He came back a minute later with a manager who asked me if I was with the group at the table, and then said I would have to place my order with the server and refused to serve me the beer I had ordered. He seemed annoyed that he had to tell me this. I've never been to a bar where I couldn't order a beer from the bar. I don't care to hear about their policies either. It's a bar. WARNING ABOUT YARD HOUSE: One time after extremely poor service I had a waiter (Max) attempt to prank call my phone several times and he mailed my tip money back to my home after somehow learning my address. For my actual review: I have been here a handful of times and my experience between ok and negative is a 50/50 split. The beer selection is great and usually bar tender service is ok but they can either be forgetful or unobservant if customers are waiting for service (even when their are open chairs at the bar). My latest experience after sitting for 15 minutes we had no service so we walked out. Table service is very poor as wait staff is usually inattentive. You will have long waits to have your food served and at the same time keep your fingers crossed that your meal is served as ordered. read more

I really wanted to like Yard House. I had always seen the place when shopping and made note to come back one day and try it out. If it weren't for the customer service from the manager when things went south, they would be getting two stars. The place was packed so we looked for a seat at the bar. As we sat down we ordered a Cosmo and a soft drink. The Cosmo was nice - strong but sweet. We ordered the chicken nachos and deviled egg appetizers and took a little longer to order our entrees (garlic lobster noodles for myself and the turkey burger for my BF). The bar is huge and is a total beer lovers dream. About 15 minutes later our entrees are brought out by a runner. I explain to him that we hadn't even gotten our appetizers! He said he would go figure it out and someone came out 5 minutes later with the appetizers. This is something that grinds my gears in restaurants. It really ruins the meal. The waiter/ bartender apologized and we continued working on our entrees. The lobster noodles really were amazing. Tons of lobster, shrimp crab - just my style. The turkey burger was said to be good but he didn't get the sweet potato fries he asked for- just regular. As we finished our entrees there was no way we could do anything but pick at a few nacho chips which honestly? We're not appetizing at all. The cheese was melted in a way that you pick up one chip and you basically took the cheese off of every other chip and your left with dry, burnt chips. Nothing good about the few bites we had. Deviled eggs? Smothered in an odd sweet tomato sauce or jam. This is the sort of thing that should be described on the menu- an ordinary dish prepared in a way completely unique to the restaurant ? A little misleading. I had one- they were gross. I asked another bartender (they seemed to be working together) to ask the manager if anything could be done or to send him over because we didn't touch the apps which weren't even good. He came over, apologized and took them off the bill. Much appreciated. We still got charged the extra $1.00 for the sweet potato fries we didn't receive but at that point I was just ready to go. I have had the Mac and cheese squared and the Korean street both very good. The last time I ate here my girlfriend and I had the Mediterranean scallops and cilantro lime shrimp both dish were under 600 cals. I really wanted to LIKE this place, but I may say after six more visits that my previous rating stands for this restaurant. Not only did the greeters stop greeting after a week ( as predicted ), but the waiters did an exponentially poorer job every time I came in. In short, sub-par service, sub-par meals, and completely over-priced since the overall quality of the place is so damn poor. Almost every recommendation that was given for the food turned out to be terrible although the waiters kept insisting it was "good." To be honest, I doubt they ever tried a single dish on the menu. When the food came in, the servers practically threw the food on my table, for each and every course that was served. Some common sense please? I am not a picky customer, but after this experience, maybe I should be. Further, I ordered a few take outs, and the food appeared to be thrown in a box instead of being properly handled. I also ordered the Korean BBQ beef for takeout after a full course meal and they forgot to add rice even after I made a special order for extra rice........which was part of the entree. If you order takeout from here, make sure to double check your orders.... Every time I visited I made sure to spend over $60 dollars to try out as much of the menu as I can ( three course meals that included a few beers, mixed drinks, an appetizer, main course, and dessert, ), and as expected, there wasn't much to get excited about. In the end, the service is already going downhill, and after the out-of-state trainers leave, its only going to get worse. Sticking to family owned, niche restaurants in Manhattan and Jersey areas remains a better idea. So we come in at 11:10 and they're supposed to be open until 12:00. I'm there with my brother and a friend and I'm on crutches and we wait and wait while the hostess does a bunch of other things. Then the manager comes over and says it's last call for food. Maybe the manager should try seeing if there's any guests waiting instead of just announcing last call and walking away. Finally my brother is able to get the attention of the hostess and asked if we can be seated. She looked visibly annoyed and sat us at a table in front of the bar. Then, no server comes over. We were starving and freaking out at this point that we were going to have no food. When the server came over she immediately let us know they were out of numerous things, one of which being what I wanted to eat. We all quickly order and wait. It was a fairly long wait for a mostly empty restaurant and only appetizers. I will say this is the first time I had the California roll and I would probably try ordering it again at the other location because I'm definitely not coming back to this one. Our server barely came back to the table. Someone else ran our drinks and food. When one large plate was put down it was literally dropped in front of my brother. I hate when people serving me food seem angry to be there. The manager is still walking around in the background announcing last call for food. We opted to not have alcohol for once at Yard House. Maybe it's like when you've been talking to a girl at a bar and they flip the house lights up and you realize she's hideous. Always a favorite of mine when going to the Palisades Mall, there are plenty of restaurant options but we always end up at Yard House. A bar atmosphere that has a good selection of American food, from burgers to salads. If you are a beer drinker you will be very happy to know they have a crazy amount of different beers on tap. They get pretty crowded on the weekends but that's always a good sign. read more

Been to this yard house so many times over the years and totally one of the best places in the palisades mall. Food is an amped up version of bar food, love that options of vegetarians is extensive with many dishes available with gardien, and lots is picks from safe to adventurous to satisfy all diners. Had the Mediterranean Salmon and was blown away by how good it was even without the sauce that was on the side - great combination of veggies to make a somewhat boring fish extraordinary. Service was top notch today with the waiter making sure drinks were refilled even before they were done - the melting ice dilutes the sodas after all, right? Last night my wife and I went to the Yard House for the 4th time since it recently opened. We like the vibe and the atmosphere and the feeling at the bar that we're not in a mall. We sat at the massive oval bar (it seats about 75 people), and ordered the california roll (very different from what was expected and delicious) and the Jerk Bone-In Wings (OMG SO good). I ordered a Cuban sliced Pork sandwich with a dip for my entree. My wife ordered the small Greek salad. We had drinks (beer and wine) and our appetizers, then we waited a long time (about 30 minutes) for the entrees. The server brought my sandwich and the wrong salad for my wife. The bartender apologized profusely for the error, and every five minutes she kept returning very nicely to tell us the correct salad will be here in a few more minutes. 20 minutes later, I was finished with my sandwich and my wife still hadn't gotten her salad. Finally I asked to speak to a manager. The manager came over and was extremely apologetic. She said she was picking up the entire check. Mind you, between the two of us, we had 3 beers and 3 glasses of wine, and the check was $90. We were very surprised. While we were slight annoyed before because it was taking so long (but we weren't angry or upset because we weren't in a rush), our moods suddenly became quite happy. I told the manager that was above and beyond anything we expected. I expected her to buy us a round of drinks or comp the salad. Picking up the whole check wasn't something I thought was likely. She was very nice. 5 minutes later, My wife's Greek salad came out (and she actually said it was the best salad she's ever had.) We tipped the bartender $20. Because the manager took the initiative to act above and beyond the call of duty, and exceeded our expectations. we'll definitely be back to the restaurant because, as a general rule, we had a good experience, loved the food and ambience and left feeling positive about Yard House. read more

This is basically just an upscale Applebee's with a hundred or so beers on tap. The beer selection is fantastic, but here's the problem with this place: they charge you tax per beer!! In what realm is this practice acceptable??? Normally if a beer is $6 you give the bartender the money and tip. Not here. You put down your 10 and you get a couple of singles and coins back! What???? Oh yeah, the food. It's fine. But the service in this place is absolutely unacceptable. When you order a beer at your table, make sure to order your second one as they bring you the first one. It really does take that long for them to bring you a beer at a table. I actually timed them one night. It was around 10:30 on a Saturday night and the place was not even busy (believe me, this place can get pretty crowded) and yet they AVERAGED over 8 minutes to bring me my beer! This place is just too ridiculous for me to recommend. If they didn't have every beer imaginable on tap I'd give this place the lowest score possible. read more

Excellent burgers here! I had the bernaise sliders with fries. It was fantastic. The sliders were not overdone like many other places. The sweet potato and regular fries are possibly the best I've ever had! The French onion soup was AMAZING! The husband was amazed by the technology hub in the front. There are two ways to review Yard House: 1) as one of the best dining options in the Palisades Mall, and 2) as a decent, if average, restaurant serving American food. I'm going with the former, since, when compared to McDonald's, the gross mall sushi, and the madness of the Cheesecake Factory, Yard House is a welcome change. I've been here twice, and both times have been impressed and a bit overwhelmed by their extensive beer collection. It is well-organized by type, so you can quickly narrow down what kind of beer you'd like to drink. I got the sweet potato fries with maple bacon butter to start, which were delicious, and the barbecue bacon cheeseburger for my meal. I ordered my burger medium, and it was a perfect pink all the way through, so I was happy and impressed. For dessert, the boy and I split the salted caramel butterscotch pudding and the mini chocolate soufflé. I really loved the chocolate soufflé, with its warmth melting the ice cream on top, and a light, fluffy texture, but the pudding was delicious as well. My boyfriend got the Korean beef tacos, and they were absolutely delicious, as well as a bonus Korean pork belly taco that took the cake. If I go back, I'll be opting for the tacos! One thing to be aware of is that the portions are pretty small. Each taco, for example, was served on a 4'' tortilla and served with a measly scoop of refried beans and rice. While it would have been a fine portion for me, since I'm trying not to gain 10 lbs this holiday season, he wanted a bit more food for dinner. read more

Albeit a little bit pricey, this food is SO worth it. I got Lobster Garlic Noodles with Shrimp, Crab, Crimini, and Spinach (I think it was spinach, I'm salivating writing about it). Just all around awesome. I want to go back, but I'm afraid of breaking my bank account by going two weeks in a row. All around worth it, if you want to try something new, DO IT. Worst service ever.. our server Brittany was pretty rude to start, i believe she was upset bc we had seated ourselves. However it's not our fault no one was attending the back entrance from the parking lot, we had stood there for 10 mins without anyone noticing us. There were plenty of open tables as well, not at all busy & no one was waiting that we could've stolen a table from. If youre going to be a b*tch about seating yourself in a relatively empty place, perhaps the back entrance should be closed or attended to when open. Greeting us with a friendly "you're not supposed to seat yourself, but I'll get you menus anyway," she then returned 3 times within 10 mins to take our order, when we obviously had not even had time to look thru the menu. Ironically, when we actually needed her to replace a utensil which was taken away, she was nowhere to be found - had to get it from the bartender ourselves. I'm giving this place 2 stars bc the selection of beers is good, a lot of variety. But for the above average price ($13 for two of the world's tiniest crabcake appetizers), the food is OK, not amazing. They should also probably leave the caloric count off the menu (average meal 800-1500 calories). They will probably do well bc there's not much better at a mall establishment, but for the $$ they charge, I'd rather go somewhere with better service. read more

Truffle fries with garlic aoili sauce on the side and black truffle burger was terrific! Everything was great about this place! The fries were crispy and flavorful! And this is the best burger i've ever had! They know how to season the burger and cook the patty. It wasn't dry at all. All juicy and flavorful! Just love this place! One of my favorite places now! Well I want to keep it short, came with a group of friends for the first time (mind you it took us all an hour to get here) and we wanted to celebrate our friends birthday. Matt was our waiter and I must say Matt was doing good up until we finished making our orders. Took 23 minutes just for half of the table to get served, at that 2 of the entrees were mixed up but of course the manager swore he served the correct order. 5 minutes later the rest of the table got served minus one, (STILL) thennnn one of the orders had plastic in the food and to me that is very unappealing. I don't want to be snitching but my dawg Mick L. said it right. But you know how we do. We say how it is. The list of menu is impressive but there's no price. I ordered two pints of different wheat beers and they had a different price. But the price difference was marginal. And word to the wise ordering pints is the way to go. Trust me. Go ahead and order that long flute thing because you ain't reppin anything. The atmosphere is confusing. There's plenty of TVs for sports, loud Rock music, very dim lighting as a date spot, and just average food. We shared the buffalo wings as appetizer. My gf ordered the pastrami sandwich with a french onion soup and onion rings. I ordered the Turkey burger with the tomato bisque and sweet potato fries. Buffalo wings were good. The proportion of flats to drum sticks were 3:1. Not really a big deal just an observation. The french soup had a all the oil from the cheese separated and floated on top of the soup. And the broth of the french soup was very thin and needed salt. The tomato bisque was good though. The pastrami sandwich was alright. The meat was moist and flavorful but the dressing with the pickled jalapeno was not enough to mask the stale bread. My turkey burger was good but its not what i really wanted to order. It tasted most like a meatloaf burger. It was good but I ordered a simple turkey burger. The size of the burger patty was big. I recommend normal peeps to get the smaller patty option. The onion rings had too much of the outer skin layer and not enough of the tender 'meaty' layer. Sweet fries were good but wish they were a little bit more crispy. Service from Tadeo was great. Big shout out to him. He is very respectful and gave us time to read the menu and came back promptly yo take our order. He still showed us love when he was juggling 2 other larger tables.
