Dear Salon Owner and Stylist Travis, I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment with the extremely unprofessional experience my daughter and I had at Yashi Beauty Salon (9733 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA 92683), particularly with the stylist Travis. Before my daughter's appointment even began, I politely informed Travis that she has a dry scalp and a little dandruff because she is still young and sometimes does not wash her hair thoroughly. I shared this information simply so he would understand her condition and handle her hair gently and professionally. Unfortunately, what followed was the exact opposite. From the moment he started, Travis repeatedly yanked and pulled my daughter's hair very roughly. There was absolutely no care or patience shown toward a young child. Even after the appointment, my daughter told me her scalp hurt because he had pulled her hair so hard. What upset me even more was that instead of focusing on his work, Travis continuously talked to the other stylists about how "dirty" my daughter's hair was. He even walked over to speak with the manager about my daughter's scalp and hair condition. I was sitting in the waiting area and witnessed the entire situation. At one point, I noticed Travis glance toward me, realize that I was watching, and immediately look away while noticeably changing his attitude. That only reinforced my belief that he knew exactly what he was doing was inappropriate and unprofessional. What disappointed me the most, however, was the manager's response. Instead of reminding the staff to remain professional and ensuring that customers were treated with dignity and respect, the manager chose to participate in the gossip. They even crouched down together and whispered about my daughter's hair. Not once did I see anyone step in to stop the conversation or show any concern for how disrespectful their behavior was. As a manager, you should be setting the standard for professionalism and respectful customer service--not encouraging or participating in conversations that humiliate paying customers. Having dandruff or a dry scalp does not mean someone is "dirty." These are very common conditions that affect both children and adults. If my daughter's hair condition made it more difficult to perform the service, Travis could have spoken to me directly in a respectful and professional manner. Instead, he chose to gossip about my child with his coworkers and manager. If someone cannot treat customers with basic dignity and respect, then perhaps they should reconsider working in the beauty service industry altogether. What makes this even more upsetting is that the person who was hurt the most was my daughter. No child--or even an adult--should ever be made to feel embarrassed, judged, or disrespected while simply getting a haircut and hair color. When we got home, I also noticed that her haircut was uneven. While the hair color itself was acceptable, Travis's attitude and the overall customer service completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable experience for both my daughter and me. What I regret most is that despite everything we experienced, I still paid in full and even left a tip because I did not want to create a scene in front of my daughter. Looking back, I realize I should not have rewarded such poor service. I am speaking up now because I do not want another customer--especially another child--to experience the same disrespect that my daughter did. I sincerely hope the salon owner takes this matter seriously, speaks directly with Travis and the manager involved, and takes appropriate action to improve the professionalism and customer service within the salon. Hairdressing skills can always be improved, but respect, compassion, and professional ethics are what truly keep customers coming back and build a successful business. After this experience, I have completely lost confidence in this salon. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend it to anyone as long as customers continue to be treated this way. read more

This review is specifically for Kim. Omg i've never met a lady like Kim before in a hair salon. I walked in and other peoples greeted me and said its Kims turn for haircut. I looked over to the shampoo bowl where shes lying closing her eyes taking a nap. Open her eyes without a smile and stand up grabbing a hair towel. At the time im not even sure shes Kim because she didnt even say hi or anything. Finally she said "im gonna shampoo your hair." Without a smile she didnt even remove the pillow on the shampoo bowl chair makes me sat on it sliding up and down very uncomfortable. Here comes the worst part. She spray waters on my hair seems like she intentionally spray it so it sprinkle all over my face. Then putting shampoo on my head and start using hair claw (long sharp nails) intentionally digging it into my scalp and forhead. Omg it hurt ao bad but i just kept silent being polite and dont wanna embarass her infront of everyone. When shes done shampooing it then rinsing it again spraying it everywhere on my face feels like im taking a quick shower. Finally shes done washing my hair but no not yet because shampoo is still all over my ears and side of my head. She use a tower to wipe it off without rinsing it. Wtf? Here comes the part cutting my hair. I ask for a guard #5 and she uses a number 5 but kept on cutting it shorter and crooked and shorter and crooked omg. I ask to cut the top very little but seems like she chopped half off. Then comes the edging around my rar and nexk. Omg she uses a trimmer and start digging it in my skin it hurts so bad feels like its gonna bleed. She lined up my neck so high makes me looks stupid. Ugly crooked hair cut. Now here comes the rinsing the hair out again. Well i dont have to tell you what happen next because just read above how she washed my hair. Like i said. This review is specifically for Kim and not for anyone else. Who is Kim? Well shes an older lady with gigantic cheek, fake huge breast, wearing a short skirt looking slutty and kinda tall because shes wearing a very tall high heel. Yashi, once renowned for its quality haircuts and professional service, unfortunately seems to have declined significantly in recent times. The haircut quality has dropped noticeably, leaving me quite dissatisfied with my overall experience. One primary concern was the speed at which the barbers worked. There seemed to be a priority on finishing quickly rather than ensuring the quality of the haircut. It's understandable that they may be trying to service more clients, but this shouldn't come at the expense of the client's satisfaction. Moreover, the appointment scheduling system seemed disorganized. Despite making a call-in booking, I was made to wait for an extra 30 minutes. This lack of punctuality and respect for the customer's time can make visits quite inconvenient. Lastly, their pricing seemed unjustified. They raised their prices to $15 for a men's haircut, which would be acceptable if the quality matched the price. But given the current state of service, it's hard to justify spending that much. In terms of children's services, I would advise looking elsewhere. The cheaper and arguably better quality options elsewhere make it a more sensible choice. In summary, while Yashi used to be a reliable option for a quality haircut, recent experiences suggest that this is no longer the case. The diminished quality of service, coupled with increased pricing, make it hard to recommend. I recently had a hair appointment with Linda that left me disappointed and frustrated. It's disheartening when a "professional" you trust to enhance your appearance ends up ruining your hair and making excuses for their own mistakes. The top were my reference pictures and she clearly did the exact opposite and made my hair orange. To make matters worse, Linda had the audacity to charge me $220 for the poor quality of work. It was outrageous to think that I was being charged such a substantial amount for a result that was far from what I had anticipated. What truly astonished me was the stylist's response to my dissatisfaction. Instead of taking accountability for her mistakes, she shamelessly shifted the blame onto me. She went as far as implying that I was at fault for not being clear about what I wanted, even though I had provided detailed instructions and references. Moreover, she had the nerve to suggest that fixing her own errors would come at an additional cost ($180 to bleach or $70 to tone), as if it were my responsibility to pay for her incompetence. I also don't understand why it would cost me over $300 to achieve brown hair. As a paying customer, I expected professionalism, expertise, and respect. Not only did she ruin my hair and charge me excessively for it, but she also exhibited incompetence, a complete lack of accountability, and customer service. read more

My friend recommended this place, said that they did a pretty job. Well, dont know about that since I got no service. Called, explained what I needed to 3 different people, which is a root touch up to an icy blonde. They quoted me for blonde and white (which I considered the lvl I wanted my hair). So there's no mistaken about what I want. Came in at 12:55 for my 1PM appointment, the guy took a look at my hair and told me he couldnt do it today. "I dont have time." What is that about? I'm sorry but I couldnt be any clearer anout what I want, if you dont have time for that, then dont book me in. This is unacceptable! Had my haircut with Van. She's sweet, but she didn't listen to my haircut request. 1, she kept tugging on my hair when she was brushing my hair. My scalp was in pain ever after I tried telling her. Hair stylists should know regardless. 2, I requested to thin out my hair only. She insisted to cut my dead ends, that's fine. However, she cut my hair 3 inches shorter and gave me an uneven V shaped. I would have accepted the shorter than expected trim, but an uneven V shaped is just unacceptable. To top it off, I emphasized I wanted to thin my hair; she kept insisting she knew what she was doing and would cut me off when I tried explaining. End of the story, my hair is still not thin enough. read more

love this hair salon. great service and such reasonable prices. i normally go to phung she is the owner. she is so sweet and nice. she is amazing with color especially going lighter. she was able to get my hair light in one session & i only paid $100. that is insane. it came it perfect i was so impressed with the outcome. honestly I've always gone to american salons for my blonde because i just feel like they're more experienced with blondes but my sister has been coming to phung for a few years so i decided to try her. Good news GUYS! Not only does stylist THO do an amazing job on women, she can make MEN hair on point. Me and my gf are frequent customers here, and we always come out feeling fresh. If you want someone who is passionate about hair and goes great lengths to make your hair look nice i recomend Tho. I stopped by one day after work for a quick trim.... the place was packed so they gave me this lady who I later found out was only an assistant and not a certified hair stylist. She did a horrible job on my trim....good thing I wasn't in there for a full hair cut. It was clearly bad but since it was just a trim, I didn't say anything. The cut had more length in the front, some unevenness, and the overall shape and layering were quite different from what I had asked for. Because of the way it was cut, I had to wait about 4 months for my hair to grow out enough before it could properly be corrected. I returned for a correction appointment, and this time Iven fixed the haircut and did a much better job achieving the look I originally wanted. I'm much happier with the final result now and appreciate his work. However, I was disappointed that I was still charged for the correction after previously being told it would be complimentary because the original cut did not turn out as requested. I just wish the communication and follow-through regarding the correction policy had been clearer.

The staff was extremely kind and funny. However the extensions themselves didn't hold, in 2 weeks I lost a few and within a month 1/3 of them were off. I noticed the way it was tied was very fast and sloppy. When I get this done in Vietnam it lasts forever, but this time it comes off when I brush it. I have to brush it because of the tangles around my roots where it was tied, but sometimes itll pull off the extension or break my hair. I never had this happen to me before. And to think I paid about 1.4k to get this done. I'm extremely disappointed. I traveled from Arizona just to get it done. Waste of money.

When she was cutting my curtain bangs, she didn't even bother to part my hair in the middle before cutting so of course my front pieces are lopsided. She curled my hair at the end to hide how choppy my hair was. I now have to book a hair appointment with another place to get it fixed. Genuinely so disappointing.
