Quick recap: - Food: Average - Portion size: Large - Service: Good - Environment: Food truck - $: High - Perks: N/A Overall? The content of the sandwich is excellent, but the bagel itself is below average, and the price is fairly high More details: Always intrigued by a place that claims it has New York style bagels. Unfortunately, this is not the case for these bagels. The bread part was pretty dry and below average. However, the content of the sandwiches was pretty good. The pastrami particularly stood out. The lady serving was nice. Finally, and that is a personal take, I am not a fan of a food truck. I dislike the vibe that it gives to the downtown of a beach city and do not find it fair to the restaurant owners who have to pay rent in pricey areas.

Randomly, I saw this food truck during my exploration in Manhattan Beach, and I knew I had to try it, especially because there was thankfully no long line outside of it! Although the menu was pretty decent, I chose to make my own sandwich to my liking, and it was super good despite it breaking apart immediately. From the scrambled eggs to the sausage patty, hash brown, and the addition of the avocado, it was so good, and I can definitely see myself going again, but early for sure, because they run out of items.

Ordered online although I was only a couple of blocks away, but found that each item was $1 cheaper in person. There was no line the Sunday of the AVP Manhattan Beach Open. The whole area was shockingly quiet that day. Something is wrong with the tournament. We got the Cheddy Wap and the Lox Deluxe. Both tasted good, and I liked that their bagels are quite savory. The sesame bagel on my Lox Deluxe was noticeably tastier than a typical bagel. Texture was good also, although not to the chewiness of the chewiest bagels out there. Amount of lox was less than the local bagel favorite on Sepulveda. Not sure what influence the City of MB has on this, but I'm surprised they have this place open 200 feet away from Noah's. Paradise Bowls now has Oakberry across the street, and MB Creamery now has Salt and Straw across the street. I hope competition is a good thing.

You can eat there, get it to go or have delivery. The place is old, but well maintained and really cute. They make you feel at home there. The service is great. They are fast and your meal is served hot and perfect. It has the best Mexican food in Manhattan beach. Parking can be a bear, but you will fine a spot on the street. You may need to walk uphill a bit. It is right next to the Manhattan Beach Pier and there are great places to walk. The food is amazing. We love all of it, but their enchiladas with rice and beans are the best and they make a great burrito. They also have super guacamole and their beverage selection is great. They do not have a full bar. We love this place.

So like yesterday, I decided to stop by and grab a burrito, but unfortunately, this will be the last time. I usually visit this location with my dad. He's been coming to this location since before I was born and I'm damn near 40. But this time I came alone and the place was packed. They don't have a big seating area. It's like a bar with about four seats to the right and four seat seats to the left so it doesn't accommodate many people, so people order to go. And that was my plan. I walk in and the server (with his chef at and money taped to it) and I grab the same menu. He allows me to have it, and he grabs another and gives it to one of the customers. I say all this to say that he definitely knows exactly when I arrived. However, A white man walks up less than a minute later and for some reason he decides to ask him if he ready to order, as if I'm invisible. This was the second time that this happened to me today and God knows how many times has happened to me in life. So at some point, I just have to stop ignoring the fact that Black people aren't welcome in certain spaces. Maybe we are by law, but not at all met with respect! That is all!

Better than Zabar's, I am not kidding. I buy a pound of it every week. At first I was skeptical of a habanero whitefish salad, but holy f**k it works so well- the sweet and spicy of the habanero jam pairs PERFECTLY with the fish, it's a combo I never thought could work but of course David made it work! The bagels are also fantastic and obviously pair perfectly with their schmears- the garlic onion has become my new favorite. Yesterday I tried out the Nemo (lox) sandwich and it was divine. The salmon was spot on and the cream cheese out of this world. Orgasmic. But seriously check this place out, David is a mensch and I look forward going to the farmers market in MDR every weekend to see him and stock up for the week!
