Really solid bagels in the South Bay. I was lucky to snag the very last cheddar hot honey bagel for the day. Ordered with herb cream cheese and it was a flavor bomb! They really packed it with cream cheese, and the bagel was crispy (and sticky from the honey) on the outside and soft on the inside. So delicious, will definitely be back to try the others. I recently had a bad bagel experience when I got one from a farmer's market - so chewy it hurt my jaw... So I had to experience redemption. I looked up a local bagel shop and went to Uncle Stevey's! PERFECTION! I loved their bagel flavors - I ended up getting cheddar hot honey, chili garlic crunch and an everything bagel with a container of scallion cream cheese. I was in and out in two minutes tops! I went home to make some eggs, turkey bacon, avocado, and matcha to make a nice breakfast at home and it fully satisfied my craving. The everything bagel had a great amount of topping, the chili garlic crunch had a nice heat, and the cheddar hot honey was perfectly sweet with a cheesy crust. I would probably mainly get a half dozen to go again, but the shop had a great ambiance and I wouldn't mind eating there and taking a walk around the neighborhood. The bagels at Uncle Stevey's Bagels are excellent! They have, as promised, a crispy exterior with a chewy interior. And the cream cheese is as creamy as I could ever want it to be. I ordered the Uncle Stevey sandwich with lox, cream cheese, pickled onion and dill on an everything bagel. The cream cheese portion was generous, and the pickled onion was tasty and balanced (not too pickled). The lox was on the thicker side, which I loved. And the dill added a nice herby freshness to the sandwich. I also tried the rosemary olive oil bagel, which was great! I like the unique flavors offered here. I can't wait to return to try more bagel and cream cheese flavors. The shop has a small counter to take orders, and a small glass case displaying the available bagels. Next to the pickup counter, there is a small seating area that seats less than 20 people total, and one restroom. There are rolls of paper towels on the tables to use as napkins. It is very casual and relaxed. I think the value is pretty good overall. Sandwiches are in the $12-16 range, and individual bagels are $3-4 with deals for 1/2 a dozen or a dozen +. Adding cream cheese to a single bagel is $3 which pushes the cost to the higher end, but you can also buy an 8 oz tub for $7 or $8 instead. Came on a Saturday late morning and grabbed a street parking spot before hopping in. We ordered a chili garlic crisp bagel with scallion cream cheese and the Lew sandwich on a rosemary olive oil bagel. The chili garlic bagel paired so well and was toasted perfectly. The Lew was good as well but I'm sauce girl so hot sauce or additional cream cheese would have made this one shine even brighter. I wanted to try a new bagel shop with different flavors, and uncle steveys bagels did not disappoint. This store is in an area that has super convenient street parking and even a parking lot across the street. There was a constant flow of traffic into the store so you know it's a local favorite. I opted to try the loroco and garlic onion bagels with cream cheese. I will say these bagels do cost a premium as these two bagels and cream cheese came out to $15.36, but they were top quality and when I say they don't cheat you on the cream cheese I am not exaggerating. I would likely only get one bagel with cream cheese next time and just split the cream cheese among 2-3 bagels instead. Loroco is their most unique, it has a baked blend of oaxaca and jack cheese with loroco flower buds and I really enjoyed it. The garlic onion was garlic forward and as a garlic lover I was very happy with the bagel. These bagels are chewy on the inside and have a slightly crispy bottom which is my preference for bagels. There were plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy your food, and the order came out pretty fast. Overall this shop has delicious and unique bagels you should check them out next time you have a hankering for a high quality bagel. read more

After *finally* trying Uncle Stevey's Bagels yesterday, I'll say their bagels are pretty solid... but maybe ever so slightly overhyped. I ordered two bagels and preferred the jalapeño bagel over the rosemary olive oil one. The outside of the bagel had a perfectly chewy texture while the inside was a little dense for my liking. I've had Uncle Stevey's bookmarked, and finally was able to go. I went on a Friday morning around 9:30, fully expecting to have to wait in a 30+ minute line.. to my shock, it was empty! Parked right in front and walked straight into the store to the register. I got 3 bagels- an everything w/ scallion cream cheese, a Marion on sesame (the avocado spread w/ crumbled hard-boiled egg on top), and my 3rd bagel was pretty much a BLT w/ the avocado spread on a garlic onion bagel (can't remember the exact name of it). The bagels were good, but to be honest nothing SUPER special. If I had to wait, I would have been disappointed.. they were just fine. I prefer NY bagels.. I thought that's what these would be :( Anyways, if you want to check them out for yourself, maybe go when I went- Friday, 9:30am.. parking is easy, the space is perfectly nice, and the staff is warm and friendly. I ordered a dozen bagels, salmon, and cream cheese using Uncle Stevey's website at 9.15a on Sunday, May 10, Mothers Day. My order went through and I scheduled pickup for 11a. At 10.55a, after I'd been driving for 30mins and was about 5-10 minutes away from Stevey's shop, I received a call from a Stevey staff member informing me that the bakery had failed to set my order aside at 9.15a. As a result, the shop was no longer able to fulfill my order because of "high demand." The staffer offered nothing by way of apology beyond a refund. What a joke. Way to go Uncle Stevey - this is an excellent way to ensure your "high demand" problems go away real soon. read more

$35 for two bagel sandwiches and one bagel and cream cheese is a definite premium ask. Especially when you have to wait 30 minutes in line before even ordering. That said, it's what you need to expect at Uncle Stevey's. The staff are definitely hustling to keep up with the demand, and they do a pretty solid job. But what you're paying for is the quality of the food. The cheddar and hot honey bagel is magical. It's crispy on the outside, cheesy and a little greasy, but a little sweet and sticky to combat the savory flavors. It just works. Whether it's the bagel with just cream cheese, or in a sandwich, it just works. My wife said that the sesame seed bagel was good, but she preferred the cheddar and hot honey bagel as well. She wants to try the rosemary and olive oil sometime. She also mentioned that she was very impressed that the sesame seeds remained well adhered to the bagel, not falling off all over the place like one usually experiences. The bagel game is strong here. Is it worth the wait? Probably somewhat subjective. Is it worth the cost? Also subjective, but to us... Yes to both. read more

New Yorkers take their bagels seriously, and it seems Uncle Stevey is up to those high standards. Just the Plain bagel is perfection, with an almost-crispy crust and a chewy crumb. The Rosemary Olive Oil is probably my favorite of the bunch I tried. The herb is deeply fragrant, and the oil gives the crust some extra crisp. Other fun flavors include a Cheddar Hot Honey and the classic Everything bagel. The biagels are more like bialys, which are also really fun. The Jalapeno leaves a lingering burn, and the Onion Garlic comes covered with caramelized onion. Perfect bagels require no adornments, but the Uncle Stevey Sandwich is a delicious classic if you love lox like me. And then there are the Babkas. The plain one has a nice simplicity to it, and the one with banana is softer in texture, just depends on what you prefer. It's not far, and there's plenty of parking on random weekdays, but boy, do I wish I worked within walking distance. I'd stop by Uncle Stevey's every morning to get something with my coffee. read more

Awesome, fresh tasting bagels. I had an extra toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. Love the sharp, clean cafe. The only downside is it's 1/2 hour away from me but 100% worth the drive. It's very hard to hear when ordering. I asked for iced tea & didn't realize they didn't have brewed tea until I got around the corner. They do have bottled tea. The staff was nice & knowledgeable except on the iced tea. They need seating outside so we can enjoy the nice weather. It got crowded inside when I was there. The tables are big & awkward. Visited here on a Sunday morning and it was rather disappointing. They were out of stock of a lot of items on the menu that I wanted to try, same with other customers. When ordering our breakfast sandwich, the worker told us we couldn't order it with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel even though she told us it was possible. The Breakfast Sandwich came out steaming hot which makes me think it was microwaved. The place itself is very modern looking, clean and the staff were really nice. I heard this place can get pretty busy and sell out fast but I had no issues, went in at 11am and there were still plenty of bagels. The garlic and onion bagel is delicious. They can be heavy with the cream cheese (my preference) so ask for it on the side or a light spread. Yes it can get pricey and maybe you do have to wait x amount of time. If you want quick and cheap, just go somewhere else like Noah's. The unique flavors keep us coming back. We live in El Segundo so we were very excited to see a bagel place within walking distance of home. Who wouldn't like to wake up on a weekend morning, take a short walk in town and pick up a warm bagel with cream cheese? I know I would. They recently opened so I think they are still working out the kinks (like one of the doors to the place was somehow already broken and only opened a quarter of the way). As I'd read in other reviews, the bagel are small than many competitors. I was also surprised they didn't have any blueberry bagels (I was there early so I'm just assuming they are not on the current menu). I just got a plain bagel and cream cheese. For me, it was slightly overdone, a bit more crunchy that I was expecting. However the texture and flavor was very good. I was also lucky that there were only two people in front of me in line. I've seen the line out the door when driving by on other occasions. Also note that I've seen sold out signs posted later in the day so get there early if you have a particular bagel in mind. Chances are I'll try it again but prefer Noah's plain to theirs at this point. We'll see how things progress as they work towards growing the business. The bacon was undercooked and the egg looked like a cheap egg patty. The onion bagel tasted oily. Sadly, we had to toss our $17 breakfast.
