WOW. this place is an oasis.... a true escape from the lunacy of the modern world. The interior is just brimming with custom woodwork, handcrafted light fixtures, countertops, and chairs. Everything from the bathroom door to the leather benches is incredible. The service is top notch and the food is just outstanding. We loved the house chili, homemade deli sandwiches, fresh baked breads, waffles, and salads (with homemade dressing). Even the hot dog rolls are homemade. The Yellow Deli is just about the most quaint restaurant that we were lucky enough to come upon. We were here for an RV event and were staying around the corner at a historic hotel. The Deli Rose sandwich may well be the most delicious sandwich I have ever eaten! Roast beef, corned beef, cheeses, and a special sauce served on a beautifully soft onion roll. Accompanied by creamy cole slaw and a crisp pickle. The service was wonderful and we finished with a homemade piece of carrot cake. Stopped there today on our trip and it was amazing. The staff was as nice and polite as could be. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches (on with turkey and one with roast beef), the house sauce was so good too. I had a hot chai latte and it was delicious. The place is so peaceful and in the hectic mode of travel it sent a wave of calmness (thanks the staff and calming music, and decor). I live in Chicago and would love to have one there. read more

Welp, Yelp! Came across this GEM of a place and who knew it was so cute inside!? I had the pleasure of roaming through the pamphlet of The Yellow Deli Store and others for local places, checked out the homemade soaps and other great items you don't just find anywhere! The service was on point and also, I heard from the Host they have live music... in the cutest and lovely atmosphere of the dining room. Did I mention the food was super good! I haven't had the sweet potato loaf yet, it sits here for tea this evening. The Reuben was most delicious and more than enough! How happy I am to find you! We have been told more than once we needed to check the yellow deli out! Super cute inside, old barn wood covers the walls, raw edge wood tables. Service was GREAT! We were seated right away by a man that welcomed us and explained the menu and also suggested the best things on the menu. I ordered the turkey garden sandwich and a mango mate. Amazing!!!!! Chilli was so good, warm, cheesy and not to spicy, my husband ordered the deli rose and a sweet tea. Yet again delicious!! The servers went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The one star is ONLY for the delicious food and drinks that they serve. The service here was horrible! Gave them a try even after hearing the rumors about them being a cult and racists. Definitely got the cold shoulder and stares from the workers. And not to mention the fact they took forever to even take my order when I sat down for their lunch service. Perhaps they were hoping I would get up and leave. I noticed to the old white people that were also sitting down they kept checking on them and for me not even once. Wasn't even halfway done with sandwich and my receipt was ready and given to me to pay. My wife and I were exploring Arcadia when we looked for a place to have lunch. Yellow Deli was close by and has high ratings--which we found out are well deserved. The facility is almost Western because it has wooden features that look hand carved. There is a bakery on site, which produced some terrific breads amongst other goodies. We were the first customers of the day (it opened at noon). We were greeted by a very friendly woman. The wait staff consisted of several elderly gents. The menu is limited but has plenty of breakfast and lunch offerings to satisfy most people's tastes. We has a couple of sandwiches. They were excellent and very reasonably priced--especially given recent inflation. We learned that this is one of several Yellow Delis around the world. They are owned and operated by a group who identify themselves as the Twelve Tribes. They staff was very pleased to talk about the organization, but only if asked. Cool place to take in. read more

So glad to see my local natural food restaurant thriving on a Tues afternoon! This unique gem makes all their food with delicious fresh ingredients and love. The chef salad was chock full of Turkey and havarti plus Kalamata olives and other goodies, and their baked goods are always excellent (I get them to go since I'm usually so full from lunch). We had a delicious dinner at this restaurant. We sat on their outside back patio. The staff are so very friendly. Try the chili with a slice of the spelt bread on the side. OH SO GOOD!!
