Our visit was Saturday 9-19-2020. Masks required but ZERO social distancing in seating. Every table FULL. Food was ok. Over priced for sure for two adults $30 including tip. Breakfast burrito $11 Old Faithful Plate $11 Coffee $2.50 I know businesses doing best they can during this unusual times. My friend and I came back here twice because we liked it so much :) First day we got the Chicken Fried Chicken and Yellowstone Scramble. The chicken was crispy and moist with plenty of gravy on top. The scramble was delicious but the english muffin that came with it was square and the hollandaise a little on the tangy side for my taste. We ate here twice while staying in Gardiner, having discovered it was open for breakfast (we saw it closed later in the day and thought they were out of business). Cute place with indoor/outdoor dining. Our server remembered us on the second day, which made us feel welcomed. The hubs had a yummy Mediterranean omelet with toast both days, and I had a breakfast buscuit sandwich without meat, and the breakfast tacos, also veggie style. Both dishes were very good, coffee was fine (the Americano even more so). The staff is charming, the music lovely. I took off one star for having no vegan options that I could see, other than a to-go snack cup of hummus/pretzels. Even peanut butter for toast or a side of fruit or avocado would be appreciated. This review is not about the food. Mainly because we didn't get to taste any. We had to be at the rafting place at 10, so we have ourselves lots of time for breakfast. We walked into the place at 8:30 am. There were six groups ahead of us. It took 30 minutes to get to the head of the line and place or order. After we placed or order, we found a seat. 45 minutes later, still no food, so we asked the waitress for an update. We were still 3 orders back, and with only 15 minutes left to get to the ready place, we had to leave. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the waitress very nicely offered to refund the food on our order. These guys need to develop a more efficient system. read more

My eggs Benedict was served with a cold glob of velveeta-looking substance. When I asked them to warm up the "sauce" some know-it-all "cook" in a ponytail explained to me that it is house-made. I'm sure that's true. I just wanted it warm, not an ice cold glob. It really wasn't a big deal, I was just asking for it to be warmed and he was extremely condescending and rude. He said, "It will melt on its own." So I guess I was supposed to sit and watch my food get cold as the sauce someday warmed through. How fun. read more

This place was recommended by locals as the best breakfast in town, and I have to say, they were not wrong! This may be one of the best breakfasts I have EVER had! Thankfully I was in a group, so I got to sample the caramel roll, huevos rancheros, blueberry pancakes, and the crab cake Benedict (which was the special for the day). We came for breakfast and didn't have to wait too long to order. The food portions and prices are about average. My only complaint was cleanliness of staff and tables. Sanitizing wasn't really a thing. Masks were worn but the lady taking orders and money was also cleaning and clearing tables and not wearing gloves or washing hands in-between. We have been there once and it was for breakfast and I was a little bit skeptical of how it would be however any kind of doubts or quickly erased after I saw the food. With a little menu help, I think the Yellowstone Grill could be a real hit. They have a grill, which is a good thing, but for a vegetarian, the best thing would actually be to buy and grill some vegetables that you can offer as a vegetarian option on all your wraps and salads. I enjoyed the flavor of the Thai wrap which was the only priced menu option as vegetarian, but instead of hoping to get some actual grilled veggies, it really was a matter of not adding meat and hoping that the cabbage and carrots would shine. Not really the case. Want to knock it out of the park? Try having some grilled tofu available as well. The Yellowstone area is already overly saturated with meat/potato/pizza places...this is your opportunity to stand out! read more

Great stop over when the restaurant we wanted to visit was closed. Luckily for all of us it was really a great decision. There is plenty of variety for all the different diet needs everyone had. The fact that they blend American with Mexican including breakfast and lunch was really helpful for a big group. To top that off I don't think anyone at the table had a complaint of what they ordered. I really have to make a second section here just to talk about the staff. Everyone who helped us out was all smiles. Even though we arrived an hour before closing and the line was nearly out the door. I was stressed out for them just standing there but they remain school and calm, making jokes and playing with us throughout the meal. We had an excellent brunch. I had their Eggs Benedict and Bob enjoyed the Yellowstone Scramble. In both dishes, the eggs and homemade muffin and the sauce were excellent. The coffee was a nice French roast and we both toasted our anniversary with a delicious Mimosa (highly recommended). The wait staff was attentive. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Only recommendation to improve the experience would be to substitute real potatoes cooked with a crispy, flavorful finish instead of barely browned frozen hash browns. Keep those! read more

Came in because the other options were less than desirable. We tried Yellowstone Mine and Mammoth Hot Springs Dining Room and they were not so good. The third day we walked into the Tumbleweed Bookstore Cafe and the menu was minimal. So we wandered down the street to this wonderful place. Menu is original and all options are homemade in front of you. Nothing was frozen and it tasted fresh. Wish we found it two days sooner. The coffee was great as well. We stopped by here on a recent vacation to Yellowstone. They were packed but the service was fast and the food was really great. My girlfriend got the pancakes and I got some scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast with a mocha. The staff were all very nice, too. Definitely the best place we ate at next to Yellowstone. I had the huevos rancheros: didn't look great at first glance, but let me tell you, when I dove in--this was the best breakfast I have ever had at any restaurant, anywhere. Only thing is I don't like hash browns, but that's ok because hubby does, and he gladly ate mine. He had the Old Faithful, and also was impressed. Sons had coffees and juices. Other thing we appreciated was we saw the guy disinfecting the menus between uses, and they also provided hand sanitizer at the counter. We came here on our way to Yellowstone. I got the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and homemade toast. The corned beef was good but the hash browns weren't very crispy or seasoned. The eggs were cooked well but bland. I liked that the bread for the toast was made in house but I wish they had given me some jelly for it. I got a caramel latte and it tasted like it had no flavoring syrup at all. My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich which was alright, and a glass of orange juice and it was a very small glass for the price. My cousin got the hash browns and eggs and she enjoyed it but she drowned them in ketchup. She enjoyed her cappuccino. The one thing that I loved were the cinnamon rolls! They were hot out of the oven and large. Definitely the best thing we had! There were some savory rolls I was eying at the counter and I wish I had given them a shot.
