Went here for lunch. Setting was nice and server promptly arrive however, the food did a long time to arrive. Ordered the 3 enchilada meal, two beef and one chicken with ranchero sauce on all 3 and butternut squash as the side. Ranchero sauce was watery. enchiladas and butternut squash very bland. Great for date night! My boyfriend and I adventured to Lisle to try Yerbabuena after reading the reviews of other Yelpers. They were so right! the ingredients used are very fresh, guacamole is made table side, and the atmosphere is very fun. We liked it so much that we went the next week with my boyfriend's family. It quickly became their new Friday Margarita hot spot! We have had too many dishes from their menu to list, but I can tell you that we have never had a dish that we didn't like. They do take reservations for large parties, otherwise get there early because they fill up fast! Also, if you like the salsa as much as we do you can ask for a to go container to take your extra salsa home. WIN! read more

The service is terrible. When I arrived the host gave me menus and told me to go up the stairs and find a table. Then, when we got our food, the server forgot to give us utensils. We kindly waited, but she never came out to check on how our first bites were. I had to get up and go to the bar for the silverware after 4-5 minutes. my friend and I started eating and was only into our first taco when we were asked if we needed a box. We both said yes and continued to eat. The server came out with boxes and the check and said they were closing. My friend and I were still eating and they were shutting the lights off. Needless to say, this restaurant has horrible service. I will not eat here but because the food was good I would do take out only. read more

Our server Yareth was wonderful, very polite, helpful, upbeat. Margaritas were fantastic. Greatly enjoyed both meals, Roasted poblano salmon and paella regina nicole. Don't leave without having the apple brandy chimi. There is much more to explore on the menu so we'll be back. read more

Really liked this place. It was a surprised when stumbling upon it, given the locale. Very nicely done interior with attention to detail. In looking at this place, it makes you wonder why more businesses don't put this kind of effort into stuff. There's a nice outdoor space as well. Came for brunch and dinner a few times. Service is awesome and they really care about the quality and presentation of their plates. They add nice touches to virtually everything on the menu. Even the coffee was infused with cinnamon. I enjoyed the Nopales (cactus) tacos. The flan is great too, not excessively sweet with perfect texture. Their sangria was flavorful and not watered down. Overall I agree with the other reviewer that they're capable of even better, hence 4 stars. I definitely recommend eating here, even if you have to drive out a bit. read more

Went here for lunch with my coworkers. The chips and salsa are addicting - I love this type of salsa and the fresh warm chips were great. The tacos al pastor were very very tasty, make sure you ask for some lime. The pinto beans are the best I've had anywhere. I was shocked that I liked the pintos as much as I did. It took years to get me back in here. Literally. Years. And I finally got better service this time. This is one of very few restaurants in downtown Lisle, and we try to keep our business local. We tried this restaurant several times when we moved to Lisle over 7 years ago, and the service was horrendous. We were repeatedly ignored when we asked for the check (the place wasn't busy - it's only so large) and the sangria was terrible and overpriced. I had the tilapia with salsa - waaaay too much butter in the salsa sauce. I was actually expecting something light and fruity based on the description. Definitely not the best Mexican food that I've had (try the salsa bar in Downers) but this place is back on the "to try" list - but I'll stick to more standard fare next time, like chicken fajitas. read more

Just might be the best Mexican food in the Western Burbs. My client and I walked into warm, friendly service that started with a hello and we were sat down to a entre suggestion. We ordered queso Fondido, alabmbres, and a combo platter. All three dishes were fanatstic as was the fresh chips and salsa. I highly recommend giving this small paradise a whirl and look forward to trying their margarita when I take my wife here for dinner! read more

The service was very good, fast, and friendly. The ambiance, and interior was very clean and warm. The value was good (decent prices). The margarita was very good; one of the best we've had. The food was not remarkable. Rice was clumsy and lacked taste; it was a bland. The beans were very good however. If you come during winter, ask to be seated far from the entrance. We got treated to a blast of winter air each time someone entered or left. We'll be back. As a side note, if this places wants to really crank up the sales, they should stop trying to anglo-ize the food. Make it like they do in Los Angeles, San Diego...the midwestern pallet will in time love it!! But to go the bland route is to be like every other Mexican restaurant in Chicagoland. read more

We saw this place when we were grabbing some ice cream a few doors down and decided to make a lunch date out of it. The service was good, the food was delicious and we left very satisified. We sat on the patio so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and had the chile rellenos and the steak tortas. Both dishes were great and we can't wait to go back. Being this place is near our home, I really really wanted to love it - especially with the great outdoor summer seating and beautiful flowers. We've gone here twice to give the place a chance and we will never return. We were seated in the very pretty outdoor seating about 9pm on a lovely Friday evening. We waited 15 minutes for the waitstaff to acknowledge us- but OY... it wasn't our waitstaff who arrived - but rather the waitress who previously had the table and came to pick up the payment folder on the table from the previous guests. (Ok- it's a nice night - and maybe our waiter did not know we were his table. We're cool. It's a great night.) So... We continue to wait. A waiter finally shows up - takes our drink and food order - and we .... wait and we wait. Drinks get dropped off but we never had any chips on our table during the whole meal. Food gets dropped off. And that's that. Really- that's THAT! Never were asked if we wanted another drink (which we really did!!!) nor if the food sucked. The guy just disappeared. Eventually the waiter slide the check on the table while we were talking and he never returned. We finally handed our money to a different waiter to handle for us, As for the food- barely adequate. I had flautas that were so hard I couldn't cut them with my knife. You know how at Mexican restaurants you usually have an enormous plate of rice and beans? Not at this place - 2 tablespoons of each which, I guess, helps you to watch your figure! My husband's enchiladas were unremarkable - again with two tablespoons of rice and beans so you can watch your diet (at Mexican restaurant!!!). My recommendation - go to one of the hundreds of other great other restaurants in the area. read more

Took my parents, wife and son for lunch. Everything that was served and that we ordered was tasty. Starting with the chips and delicious red salsa, we were in satisfying lunch. This was my favorite Mexican restaurant but since the expansion service isn't what it use to be. Had dinner there last night and my server apparently didn't place our order with the kitchen. After sitting for half an hour spending for more drink while we waited a server told us our server was going into the kitchen to straighten out our order?? Absolutely delicious. Amazing margaritas and great selection of dishes. Recently moved to the area and have heard about this place numerous times but never went. First time we wen service was a little slow but because how delicious the food was we said we would give it another shot. Went back again for a girls night out and the food again was great. I love small resturants and I love Mex Food. This passed the test all around. As soon as we sat we had chips and salsa, beer was a minute behind that and we ordered and food was there promptly. We had the guac made fresh as table side, and they have two sizes which makes it nice. Our waiter was nice, got us everything we needed and timely. Parking was fairly easy, downtown Lisle which is limited but not bad. Price was not a shocker, they don't give it away, but fair. No desert for us, too much food for desert. We had dinner here and overall it was very good. The service was on point. Our waitress was really nice and the chips and salsa were replenished without having to ask. I found the salsa need some spice, our server brought out two other salsas for me to try. We ordered the honey chipotle chicken and orange chipotle salmon both were cooked perfectly.
