No thanks! Went based on reviews and menu, and availability of brunch until 2 pm. Arrived at 12:45, placed eggs Benedict order, told they were out. Looking at menu for other opt, informed they were no longer serving any breakfast items and could order lunch. Not what we came for. Didn't realize also it was order at counter and then look for a table, and none were available. Left and went elsewhere. read more

Wow! Simply WOW! We had guests fly in from the East coast who found this place on their first day visiting, and brought our group of six back on their second day. EVERYTHING was incredible. It's the revamped/renovated Café California, newly-reopened as of this week. Gina, the owner, is so friendly and customer-oriented - and in tune with diners' needs (including our canine companions!). We had huevos rancheros, hash bowl, Dungeness crab fritata, and several mimosa flights (with farmers market-sourced grapefruit, orange, and pomegranate juice). Visited on a Sunday morning. The farmers market was going on at the same time so it was very busy and a little too loud indoors. They do have a nice seating area outside but it was sprinkling so we sat indoors. We had to ask for the table to be wiped down because they were not keeping up with the table service. There was one older lady who appeared to be an employee but was standing by a table talking to some customers the entire time instead of assisting the other employees. Despite the noise and generally crowded atmosphere, the food was delicious! We ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a jalapeño and cheese bagel that was the best I've ever had! We also tried a buttermilk biscuit, which was large and shareable, that came with butter and a berry spread. The biscuit was insanely good, a little salty, great texture and flavor! Will be going back, hoping it will not be as busy or crowded! The dulce de leche coffee was beautifully presented and delicious! read more

We just got home from a wonderful breakfast here, what a great experience. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly - and attentive even though we were sitting at an out-of-the-way table out front. I can drink a lot of coffee and pretty fast, but they kept my cup full. Best Eggs Benedict in town prepared on a delicious croissant. The poached eggs were perfectly done and it came with nice thick slices of avocado and crispy bacon. This is going to be a regular stop for us from now on. Absolutely love this place! Came for breakfast and had the horchata latte and the bacon and spinach frittata. Everything was delicious, I was halfway done with my latte before I remembered to take a picture! The staff are all so kind and accommodating, and the owner Gina is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. They had a huge selection of baked goods and beverages as well (including beer and seltzer!) and the patio is gorgeous. Came back in the evening for their grand opening soirée and had some pot roast sandwich and burrata toast samplers -- need the full size ASAP! Can't recommend this place enough, will definitely be back. read more

I was so impressed with this place! I moved to La Quinta about 2 years ago and still have troubles finding good restaurants and coffee shops. I love Old Town LQ and knew this place would be good. I got a strawberry matcha and a breakfast sandwich and it was amazing! All the staff was so friendly and helpful. Customer service was always there. The shop was very clean. The prices really high so be aware of spending at least $20 for drink and food. Definitely try it out next time you are in La Quinta! read more

Was very disappointed in our last visit. We waited 35 mins for our food which included biscuits that we already paid for that turned out to be given away to other customers that came in after us right in front of our faces. We were brought a partial egg order and no biscuits. We were left to sit there and told it was coming multiple times however it never came. Instead we saw them give our biscuits to people that came in after us, and then we were told they were out of biscuits even though the girl at the front counter pulled them for us. We pointed out that we were there about 30 minutes before the people that got the last biscuits and questioned why we were not given ours that we paid for way before these people came in. When we asked why our biscuits that we already paid for were given to other patrons who ordered after us, we were told they didn't know and it was just how the kitchen chose to do it even though 35 mins had gone by and these other people came in way after us. They tried to give us three out of four eggs ordered and no biscuits that we paid for. When we said we wanted a full refund they didn't want to give it to us at first after all that. A regular staff member told us he was sent by the manager to explain and that he really didn't know what happened, however this should have been something a manager came out to handle right away. We had to go back and forth between a staff member until the owner finally came out after we were so upset. It was such a waste of our time and then having to fight to get their mistake corrected with just a refund instead of being able to get the food we had already paid for and wasted so much of the morning waiting for while hungry. We were told by the owner to get there earlier if we wanted biscuits even though they were in the case when we arrived and the girl pulled out three biscuits in front of us for our order and put them in the back for the kitchen. Somehow it become our fault and we needed to get there earlier in case they decided to tell us they had them and give them to others 30 mins later again. The owner wanted to argue about it and was not apologetic only made excuses. Sure I get things happen but at least try to make it right instead of argue about an iced tea after making such a bad mistake and not giving us our meal that we ordered and paid for, instead giving the biscuits away to other people that arrived and ordered 30 mins after us. Definitely lost trust and will chose other options in the future. Waste of our time and we will not be back after the way we were treated. It's a shame because we liked there biscuits a lot, but I didn't appreciate the way the situation was handled and so I'll be spending my money elsewhere going forward. I had given this business a 5 star review prior despite service always being slow because the food was good, but not anymore! We are done! read more

Great avocado toast for me, and açaí bowl for the hubs. Friendly and fast counter service. Clean as a whistle!
