Been over four years since my last review! This is my go to spot whenever I am craving a good bowl of Seol Lung Tang or Bibim NangMyun. For the Seoul Lung Tang, don't forget to add salt and for spice, add their hot pepper paste- this is a must. We usually order their haemul pajun to start. It's a huge serving and oh so good. Korean comfort food!

I stopped by Yett Gol, because I wanted to undo some of the work from my gym workout. Also, I wanted to try a new spot in the strip of restaurants in this shopping center. While the over appearance of the restaurant is not super fancy, the food definitely makes up for this. For my dining pleasure, I went with the combo Bokum Bop, which is Korean fried rice with chicken, beef, and shrimp. The dish was about 16 bucks, which was not bad for the amount of food you receive. Actually, the food was enough for two people...or one really hungry person. ;) While tasty, I thought the fried rice was a bit soggy for my liking, but it was not anything disastrous. Perhaps, that could have been the style of preparation. The service was pretty fast, and my waitress was nice. Overall, I thought Yett Gol is a decent, very low-key Korean restaurant. While I did not have any significant issues with my food or service, I probably would not go out of my way (e.g., a 20+ minute drive) to grab food from this restaurant. However, all bets are off if I'm in the general area. Fortunately for me, my gym is located right around the corner.

No frills Korean comfort food tucked away in the corner of the plaza. We had the sullungtang and mul nangmyung. Cold noodles were tangy and sweet, refreshing for this hot summer day. The Sullungtang broth was rich and i like to eat it with minimal salt since i like the pure taste of the broth. Ban chan included radish and Napa kimchi, sprouts, and a kale "salad" which I don't see very often. Prices are affordable, both around $14.

This is one our all time favorite Korean restaurant. Cozy atmosphere. A perfect place to enjoy some soju with friends and family. They serve traditional family style Korean food, in large shareable portions. Family run business, and service had always been great. From crispy pork, katsu combo, pancakes, to traditional style soups and homemade spicy paste are all very delicious. Over the years, their prices has gone up a bit, but still within reasonable range. Easy parking out in the shopping center where the restaurant is located. Highly recommended by @WineDinenVacay

I love this place. It is a small, low-key establisment in a strip mall. The writing on the storefront is in Korean and so may be hard to find. The people there are always friendly. They have a varied menu but their beef bone soup is the star. The thick hot seollungtang broth is so satisfying and gives me energy after a long exhausting week. Seollungtang is also a perfect hangover soup. The radish kimchi is excellent - a must for seollungtang. The dogani muchim is a health food as it is full of collagen. It is also delicious here. Older Korean people have always loved eating this because they said it was good for their joints. Nowadays, with all the research on the many benefits of collagen for people of all ages I am glad to have found a place where they make dogani so well.

10/15/23 Back again, but this time I ordered the Korean Pancake and My wife order Sun Du Bo.   This time around, I added a bit of salt and Ranch Dressing (Picked up at Pizza Hut) to the pancake.  Delicious:) Ms. Kim took our order and was there to assist with whatever else we needed.  Ms. Kim looked a little bored, because it wasn't busy when we came in.  Nevertheless, two guests in the restaurant is better than no guests in the restaurant.  We did met The Owner Mike again and he changed his appearance.   He looked happier and younger too.  I say if Darkness Prevails,  (Like the YouTube Reader)Then Happiness is a Godsend. Keep up the good work Mike. I did forget to get the name of restaurant Mike's sister owns and operates.  Maybe I will remember it later on. We are likely to come back here for another round here.

OG traditional Korean food that is a family favorite. Everyone knows this place has the best kimchi jjigae and solleongtang in town. The japchae is on the sweeter side but sheesh it's flavorful and a huge step up from basic h mart japchae. The kimchi jjigae is also loaded with flavor; it's sweeter as well which helps round out the salty savory soup. The ambiance is great, there's Korean TV playing in the background and the decor and table settings are all traditional. We had the restaurant to ourselves but we didn't mind, the server was super chill and let me and my friend catch up for two hours, topped off our hot tea while eating delicious food. 10/10

Food was simply delicious! We had seafood pancake and in MHO it's the best in the DMV, tofu stew with a raw egg already in the hot stone bowl which I stirred up, and beef trip soup that was wonderful treat in the cold weather. Service was quick and courteous. Ambience is very casual.

Lovely hole in the wall family-owned seemingly legit Korean place that specializes in bone broth (seolleongtang), but has a variety of other soups and dishes. TRIPE BONE BROTH (SEOLLEONGTANG): Deceptively simple but complex broth chock full of chives with a solid serving of tripe. It's intended for personal customization so you can add salt, pepper, and red pepper paste to your liking. I added a lot of the red pepper paste and a generous spoonful or two of salt and it was homey and hit the spot. It comes with perfectly made white rice. BANCHON: Excellent Kim chi, sweet pickled radish strips, Kim chi radish, and sesame bean sprouts, all tasty. PRICE: $($) 13.95/most soups including this one, which feels like a steal during these inflationary days. SERVICE: Excellent, friendly, helpful, attentive. HOURS: Open all day, including in the mid-afternoon which was perfect since I couldn't make it over until 2-3pm, when most places are very understandably closed. LOCATION: I saw a lot of reviews complaining about a dingy parking lot and shopping complex. It certainly isn't new but it looks like a standard shopping complex in this area. It can be hard to find so look for the Korean sign (two characters) located close to the inner corner of the shopping center, kitty corner from the Sunoco gas station. Based on all the reviews, I'm excited to go back to try out the soon dubu, seafood pancake, Naeum myon, dolsot bibimbap, and other dishes.

This is our go-to local Korean restaurant whenever we want a nice meal without having to drive to Ellicott City, Md or Anandale, Va. They are a friendly, local business in the corner of the Glenmont shopping center right next to a couple other places that you may be interested in checking out. The food is cooked well, served fresh, hot, and with kindness. I have never had a bad meal here and always leave wondering why don't I come here more often? However went there recently for Father's Day and ordered a number of dishes which I will add pictures of. Lastly the owner is super friendly and cares about the food she serves to her diners. They offer a 10% discount when paying with cash. Highly recommend this restaurant and will continue to dine there for the foreseeable future.

I'm not sure why many reviews here say this is a "holes in the wall" place as a reference for not fancy/ not a modern restaurant. I don't see any holes, and I can tell the owners tried their best to clean this place, maintain it and even decorate it. Please make sure to use words that won't make them look like they don't care if they do. I went there around 2pm, no one except a table with 2 other Koreans there. The staff greeted me immediately once he heard the bell on the door. He got me the menu and asked if I wanted iced water, but once I saw the other table got tea I asked for tea instead. He was polite, and he even wore his face mask back when come close to me for ordering and bringing my tea. Only waited about 10 mins for my hot boiling tofu soup to be here! I ordered the seafood tofu soup cause I was craving it for a while now, but I realized they are famous for the beef stew here! When he asked the other table how's the beef stew in Korean. (I can understand Korean a little bit so) the customers told him twice how good it was! I bet I have to come back for it later and try it myself. Anyways my tofu soup was great, not much seafood as I assumed but the tofu and the flavor is spot ON! The broth is really good and you can tell they took time to make the base broth. Not many side dishes, but they are all homemade which has its own home twist and have a good flavor. Not something you get from grocery stores for sure. I was so happy and full after having this. It was nice not only it's piping hot and well made, but the service was great and it reminds me of me having a similar lunch in a restaurant in Seoul. I'll definitely come back for the beef stew and the kimchi pancake! Highly recommend this place! It's for anyone! Family, friends, a date or even by yourself, it's a good place for soulful lunch/dinner. As an Asian immigrant myself, I hope more people understand how hard it is for us to understand the American "fanciness" and culture. This shop is in a kind of run down location indeed, but the store inside is well maintained and as good as it can be. In my home country, this is somewhat a regular nice place already. Please give a fair review about the cleanliness of this place. I think they really did well! (The only hole I saw is on the little door cover curtain, which you can tell it aged... But still not dirty looking) It's certainly not holes in a wall place.... Except if you are talking about the center and the parking lot, yes it's a little messy. BUT THIS PLACE IS NOT!

Do they accommodate gluten free options?

To my knowledge a lot of their food (other than certain noodles and pajeon pancakes) is already gluten free; I know that soy sauce can be an issue for some so you might want to research generally what Korean dishes contain soy sauce. They definitely… Read more

Boo-hoo, look around and you'll find a spot unless you're driving a yacht. Now, to the setting and the food...the setting is the way I like it. Rustic, clean, unassuming, not fancied up. Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here. This week was only the second time. I totally forgot where it was or whether it was still around. So glad it is.

In the door the place was clean and well lit. Our server was attentive to us in the very beginning b I t did decline. Menu choices to me were a little odd to include everything is ala carte, you dont even get rice with a meal. We were a party of 8 so we all ordered something different. For me the food lacked flavor and the fried beef was like eatting beef Jerry. We had some children with us who dont eat with chop sticks and getting regular utensils seemed difficult. Our server filled our waters in the beginning but that was it, after that finding her for anything was not happening. Finally, they attached a automatic gratuity which i have an issue with, I am a great tipper but if service sucks then it should be my decision on how much to tip.

THE FOOD We ordered the Chadol Premium Combo, which featured five delicious cuts of Angus beef accompanied by a bowl of soybean soup, fresh lettuce leaves, large pink pickled daikon slices, and three standard dipping sauces. We also added a salad and the cheese corn to round out the meal. Overall, the meat quality was excellent. * Unmarinated Short Rib: Simple, high-quality, and quite tasty. * Boneless Ribeye: Prepared with rosemary and butter, making it an incredibly rich and flavorful bite. * Marinated Boneless Short Rib: Prepared with sesame and garlic. Because this cut is closer to the bone, it was flavorful and tender. As a bonus, the fried garlic left at the bottom of the pan after cooking was absolutely delicious. * Marinated Galbi Short Rib: Very tender and surprisingly flavorful without leaning too sweet, which was a great balance. * Pickled Chayote: Made with chopped onions and jalapeños. This side was refreshing and flavorful, serving as palate cleanser between rich bites of beef. THE SERVICE * Our server, Kaitlyn, took a no-nonsense, efficient approach to our meal. She helped start the grilling process and dropped by periodically to fire up the next batch of meats and refill our banchan and water.
